'Mind the Mocking and don't Keep on Walking': Galaxy Mock Challenges for the Completed SDSS-IV Extended Baryon Oscillation Spectroscopic Survey

  • We develop a series of N-body data challenges, functional to the final analysis of the extended Baryon Oscillation Spectroscopic Survey (eBOSS) Data Release 16 (DR16) galaxy sample, primarily based on high-fidelity catalogs constructed from the Outer Rim simulation. We generate synthetic galaxy mocks by populating Outer Rim halos with a variety of halo occupation distribution (HOD) schemes of increasing complexity, spanning different redshift intervals. We then assess the performance of three complementary redshift space distortion (RSD) models in configuration and Fourier space, adopted for the analysis of the complete DR16 eBOSS sample of Luminous Red Galaxies (LRGs). We find that all the methods are mutually consistent, with comparable systematic errors on the Alcock-Paczynski parameters and the growth of structure, and robust to different HOD prescriptions - thus validating the robustness of the models and the pipelines used for the baryon acoustic oscillation (BAO) and full shape clustering analysis. Our study is relevant for the final eBOSS DR16 'consensus cosmology', as the systematic error budget is informed by testing the results of analyses against these high-resolution mocks. In addition, it is also useful for future large-volume surveys, since similar mock-making techniques and systematic corrections can be readily extended to model for instance the DESI galaxy sample.

  • 본 연구는 교각의 형상에 따라 교량하부구조물에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구이다. 유수의 흐름에 의해 교각 주위에서의 하상재료가 침식, 운반, 퇴적작용을 하여 이에 따라 수로의 하상단면은 변화를 하게 된다. 본 연구에서는 흐름과 동일한 방향으로 설치된 일련연속교각에서 교각의 형상변화에 따른 국부세굴 특성을 BOSS SMS로 통하여 분석하였다.

상대압 용량성 압력센서의 제작 (Fabrication of Relative-type Capacitive Pressure Sensor)

  • This paper describes fabrication of relative type capacitive pressure sensor to be in great demand for many fields. The fabricated sensor consists of two parts` a sensing diaphragm and a pyrox glass cover. The sensor size is 4.5${\times}3.4mm$^{2})$ and 400$\mu$m thick. To improve the nonlinearity, this sensor is designed a rectangular silicon diaphragm with a center boss structure, and in order to improve the temperature characteristics of the sensor in a packaging process, the sensing element is mounted on the pyrex glass support. Some suggestions toward the design and fabrication of improved sensors have been presented. The zero pressure capacitance, Co of sensor is 26.57pF, and the change of capacitance, ${\Delta}$C is 1.55pF from 0Kgf/Cm$^{2}$ to 1Kgf/Cm$^{2}$ at room temperature. The nonlinearity of the sensor output with center boss diaphragm is 1.29%F.S., and thermal zero shift and thermal sensitivity shift is less than 1.43%F.S./$^{\circ}C$and 0.14% F.S./$^{\circ}C$, respectively.

고 연소압을 받는 디젤엔진 피스톤의 핀-보스 베어링 윤활해석 (Pin-Boss Bearing Lubrication Analysis of a Diesel Engine Piston Receiving High Combustion Pressure)

  • In recently designed diesel engines, the running conditions for piston pin bearings have become very severe due to combustion pressure and temperature increase. In this paper, it will be investigated the tendency of piston pin rotating motion by calculating the friction coefficient at piston pin bearings, the oil film thickness and the frictional torques induced by hydrodynamic shear stress. Finally, the pressure distributions on the oil film of piston pin bearings will be found by two-dimensional lubrication analysis in order to help the optimum design of the bearings of piston pin. Specially, it is investigated the effects on the film pressure distribution due to the change in maximum combustion pressure.

압입축 끝단의 손상저감을 위한 보스부 형상 최적설계 (Optimization of Boss Shape for Damage Reduction of the Press-fitted Shaft End)

  • The press-fit shaft is an important part used in automobiles, vessels, and trains. This study proposes an optimized design method to reduce damage that may occur in the press-fitted shaft by modifying the shape of the boss step of the press-fitted shaft. To reduce the time and cost of running the optimized design method, an approximate design optimization is applied and an optimized algorithm is generated using a genetic algorithm that is widely used in engineering fields and an approximate model using a response surface method. The planned experiments for the data that are needed to generate the approximate model use a central composite design (CCD) and Latin hypercube sampling (LHS), and the results of the approximate optimization using the above two design of experiments are to be compared.

  • Using carbon steel or ceramic as a shaft material of monolithic and slited insert ring clamped on it. The fitting strengths of the sgrink fitted assemblies measured from room temperature to 30$0^{\circ}C$ and following conclusions were obtained as results of this investigation. 1) The fitting condition under which the shrink fitted assemble was stronger than that using simple fit in high temperature. 2) When both material of the 30mm-diameter shaft and 55mm-diameter boss are SM45C the clamping torque is increased 2.7times as the interference increases 3 times from 20${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ at the contact length of 6mm monolithic fit. 3) When only the material of boss is changed to STS 304 the clamping torque is increased at the rate of 37.3N.m per 1mm increase of the contact length at the interference of 50${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ monolithic fit.

조직문화와 안전풍토가 안전행동 및 사고에 미치는 영향: 도시철도 기관사를 중심으로 (The Effect of Organizational Culture and Safety Climates on Safety Behavior and Accidents: Focused on the metro train drivers)

  • This study highlights the theme of human error of train drivers, conducting empirical analysis on the relationship between organizational culture, safety climates, safety behavior, and accident. The empirical test results based on questionnaires received from 223 train drivers working at A subway firm indicated that relationship conflict and psychological reward as the elements of organizational culture variables showed a significant positive effect on CEO philosophy, communication, and boss's leadership. And only boss's leadership showed a positive influence on safety behavior, which in turn showed a significant negative relationship with accidents.
