  • This paper investigates the determinants of credit accessibility and the effect of credit on the income of farm households borrowing from Vietnam Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development, Giong Rieng District Branch, Kien Giang Province. Based on the primary data of 200 farming households who are the customer of the bank, the study applied the Probit regression model to examine determinant factors of credit accessibility of farm households and employed the Propensity score matching method to investigate the impact of credit on households' income. The findings of the Probit regression shown that three independent variables that significantly influence the access to credit of households are household size, income source, and farm size. Besides that, the Propensity score matching method results showed a difference of 23.799 million VND/year between the income of borrowing households and that of non-borrowing households at the significance level of 1%. The difference in the imcome from the interval and central matching methods are VND 24.700 million VND/year and VND 24.633 million VND/year, respectively. Given empirical findings suggetsted that several recommendations to increase the credit accessibility of farm households, thereby creating favorable conditions for improving their income.

  • The purpose of this study is to identify the characteristics and differences of borrowed landscape in traditional arbors and temples in Jeonbuk province. And this study is attempted to widespread the width of understanding the traditional landscape borrowing method for contributing in modem reception and creation of landscape architectural culture. For this, 30 traditional arbors and 30 traditional temples in Jeonbuk province were selected. The orientation of the place of view point, distance, vertical and horizontal angle were surveyed for identifying the structure of borrowed landscape. Furthermore main element, auxiliary element and a media of borrowed landscape were surveyed also. Two hypothesis were established for verifying the feasibility and real effectiveness of research results. First, the willingness of borrowed landscape shall be being in establishing traditional arbors and temples. Second, this willingness of borrowed landscape shall be accomplished in arbor space more positively than in temple space. The results of this study are as follows; 1. In temples, the surrounding landscape adapted in Buddhism principles are principally expressed, whereas in arbors, congregating landscape, variety landscape, background landscape for establishing good view point and enframed landscape are induced for making authoritative landscape as various borrowed landscape techniques. 2. The distance to borrowed landscape in temples is involved in far landscape region, whereas that in arbors is in middle and near. In comparative with temples, the arbors shows variety in distance to the borrowed landscape objects. 3. Down view borrowing is used generally in arbors, whereas upper view borrowing is used in temples at the view angle to the borrowed landscape objects. 4. Borrowed landscape objects are more considered factors than view scope in arbors. Main elements for borrowing landscape are very various arbors, but those are simple as mountains and peaks in temples. And natural elements are much more than artificial things in arbors as a media of borrowing landscape in comparative with temples.

  • In this paper, I examined two things. First explore the of the reality(眞) in poems written on paintings and discussion on paintings in men of letters of Pre-chosun dynasty, furthemore, it analyzes the meaning and thought. To explain it, I would like to analyse the discourse surrounding the reality(眞) in poems written on paintings and discussion on paintings, and concept of the borrowing(假) and the unreal(幻). First of all, I examine the ways that the view of nature of Confucians is pertinent to the abiding in reverence and the investigation of principles of confucians, also painting is necessarry condition for their moral and spiritual self-cultivation. In the discourse surrounding the reality, it is to suggest from 'natural reality (天眞)' to escape from the reality(眞), and proceeds to examine the transformation of reality(眞) in mind(人心). Furthermore I examine the meaning of transform and delicate difference between borrowing(假) and the unreal(幻). In this process, concept of the borrowing(假) and the unreal(幻) is divided into the two meaning. False(假) is to become the Borrowing and painting, the unreal(幻) is change into the act of recognition. In conclusion, I examined the significant transformation of the reality(眞) and the unreal(幻). The reality(眞) has been recognized as a important concept, it is diverged into the Nature, outer things and painting mind, and the object of ultimate value in appreciation and painting of Pre-chosun dynasty.

  • Banking and borrowing under the ETS may affect the low carbon technology investment level. If the indirect implementation measures are allowed, firms can gradually adjust their carbon reduction costs between implementation periods based on their carbon reduction costs and emission price forecasts. This implies that banking and borrowing may reduce or increase the level of low carbon technology R&D investment. In an oligopoly market, the effects of the measures are quite different from the ones in a perfectly competitive market. This is because the indirect implementation measures can shift market competition in Cournot competition model. The effects of banking and borrowing on the carbon reduction R&D investments depend on emission reduction costs, marginal production costs, discount rate, initial free allocation, and the cost reduction effects of R&D investment.

  • The repository for the disposal of LILW which is generated from nuclear power plants and industries is expected to be completed in 2014. For the disposal of LILW, it is important to secure a disposal facility itself, but it is also very important to establish a reasonable charging system which all shareholders are satisfied with. Korea's disposal fee for LILW is higher than other countries' fee, which is a burden to waste generators as well as the waste management organization. The partial reason for the high disposal fee is put on the high social and construction cost when compared with other countries. However the major reason is put on the excessive borrowing cost that is used for the construction of the LILW disposal facility. In this study, we proposed the way to reduce the excessive borrowing cost for sustainable project managements of LILW disposal by analyzing a cost structure.

  • In this paper, we propose the bandwidth borrowing scheme which improves the performance of the cal admission control of the integrated GEO satellite networks. In general, target transmission rates of communications and streaming services are fixed, but data services do not have the target transmission rates. Therefore, we can control the transmission rates for data services flexibly according to the system loading situation. When the available bandwidth of the system is insufficient, the bandwidth borrowing scheme gives the bandwidth to request real time services by the transmission rates control of data services through packet scheduler. We make the queueing model for our system model and demonstrate the results through simulations. The simulation results show that there is a 8.7-35.2 dB gain at the total blocking probability according to the use of bandwidth borrowing scheme.

  • Russian language tends to be quite open to borrowing. In Russian it has been for a long time the conventional way of expanding the lexicon, accepting many words from adjacent languages, including Church Slavic. In the contemporary Russian English has been the main source for loanwords. There are several linguistic factors for lexical borrowing: 1. the necessity of denominating new facts, phenomena or concepts, 2. the necessity of differentiating concepts, 3. the necessity of specializing new concepts, 4. the introduction of new international terms, 5. the increase of periphrastic expressions, 6. the needs for the more elegant and modern words. These factors have caused borrowing to enlarge the component of the lexicon and phrasal expressions, but excessive use of foreign words has brought about negative effects such as linguistic pollution. Some borrowed words are assimilated without serious conflicts, but other words undergo semantic changes in confrontation to existing words of similar meanings. These types of semantic changes comprise total change of meaning, reduction of semantic scale and extension of meaning. Semantic changes are caused by linguistic factors such as lexical conflict with existing words or by socio-culural factors such as misunderstanding of foreign words. And extension of meaning shows two types: qualitative extension and quantitative extension. The first means extending the semantic scope of a borrowed word and the latter - increasing the number of its sememe. In contemporary Russian language we can witness two productive phenomena: qualitative extension by socio-cultural factors, in which words with negative nuances are changed into those with positive ones and professional terms become common words, losing their professional meanings. On the other hand, by quantative extension some loanwords change their concrete meanings into abstract ones. In such cases loanwords acquire the additional meanings of abstractness, putting aside their original concrete meanings as the basic. On the contrary, the qualitative extension of adding the special meaning to general words or giving the concrete meaning to abstract words is not productive. And it is rarely witnessed that words of positive nuances are negatively used. It is considered that such cases are partly restricted in the spoken language or the jargon. Such phenomena may happen by the incomplete understanding of English words.

  • The Republic of Korea (ROK) has made many efforts to reduce greenhouse gases through a legal framework, making obligations to reach domestic and overseas targets via the Paris Convention in 2015. China recently launched a nation-wide emission trading system (ETS) and has considered extending this ETS to include the ROK. This study examines the possibility of linking the ETS between ROK and China by considering the institutional design elements of the ETS. Additionally, this study provides policy implications to reach Korea's overseas reduction target. For the research methodology, the design elements of both the ROK and China policies were analyzed by categorizing their standard design elements based on the International Carbon Action Partnership. This paper focuses on four main barriers (cap type, borrowing, offset and price ceiling) based on their environmental benefits and analyzes the challenges to combining the design elements between the ROK and China systems. The two ETS commonly share the same cap types, and there is similar institutional progress regarding the offset and price ceiling. In addition to this, note that China has a borrowing system that is opposite to the borrowing system in ROK. According to these findings, there are major challenges to linking the ROK and China systems due to differences in the major design elements. Thus, it is necessary to modify the Korean domestic borrowing system and understand the Chinese institutional processes related to environmental negotiation to achieve further cooperation.

  • This paper deals with two problems of optimal portfolio strategies in continuous time. The first one studies the optimal behavior of a firm who is forced to withdraw funds continuously at a fixed rate per unit time. The second one considers a firm that is faced with an uncontrollable stochastic cash flow, or random risk process. We assume the firm's income can be obtained only from the investment in two assets: a risky asset (e.g., stock) and a riskless asset (e.g., bond). Therefore, the firm's wealth follows a stochastic process. When the wealth is lower than certain legal level, the firm goes bankrupt. Thus how to invest is the fundamental problem of the firm in order to avoid bankruptcy. Under the case of different lending and borrowing rates, we obtain the optimal portfolio strategies for some reasonable objective functions that are the piecewise linear functions of the firm's current wealth and present some interesting proofs for the conclusions. The optimal policies are easy to be operated for any relevant investor.
