  • This paper describes an optimal synthesis method of binary neural network for pattern recognition. Our objective is to minimize the number of connections and the number of neurons in hidden layer by using a Newly Expanded and Truncated Learning Algorithm (NETLA) for the multilayered neural networks. The synthesis method in NETLA uses the Expanded Sum of Product (ESP) of the boolean expressions and is based on the multilayer perceptron. It has an ability to optimize a given binary neural network in the binary space without any iterative learning as the conventional Error Back Propagation (EBP) algorithm. Furthermore, NETLA can reduce the number of the required neurons in hidden layer and the number of connections. Therefore, this learning algorithm can speed up training for the pattern recognition problems. The superiority of NETLA to other learning algorithms is demonstrated by an practical application to the approximation problem of a circular region.

In this reason, old people who have finance power would like to receive a comport and high level service, though paying proper expense. In this study, receiving this requirement, we focused that silver town have reasonable and comfortable residing environment in developing rural and rest form silver town objecting external area of Chon-Ju city, and selected land suitability. Through the learning of the neural network theory in the method of land suitability, we applied in the full of study area and improved a flexible determination making as giving each class value in each cell. Also, we compare a method of land suitability using the neural network theory, and it's analysis with a method of land suitability by the duplication method of Boolean Logic have been used In Geo Spatial Information System(GSIS) and proved the Boolean Logic's lose of values and the propriety.

  • Given the set of minimal paths between two vertices in a network, this paper shows that the system reliability can be obtained by using a Binary Decision Digram. It can be done by transforming a Boolean sum of products into a Binary Decision Diagram and the reliability can be directly derived from it. The resulting reliability expression is compact and requires relatively fewer arithmetic opersations in its evaluation. Several examples are given to show that the method using Binary Decision Diagram is conceptually casy, simple and efficient.

  • In this paper, we proposed effective algorithm that do Availability of communication network account using total probability formula. Use path tracing method about PSTN linked with MSC in WCDMA considering occasion that do not consider mobility of terminal and Availability did account. First, express minimum path series gathering by structure function after network that do modeling by stochastic graph for communication network saves all minimal path sets between particular two abutments and we gain Availability value in angular variable after express structure function by Boolean operation form and Availability between two abutments did account.

  • Today, documents existing on internet by the development of communication network increase in number. And it is required the information retrieval system that can efficiently acquire the necessary information. Most information retrieval systems retrieve documents using a simple keyword or a boolean query of keywords. But, the method is not fit for novice users to use and has many difficulties than user's dialogue query from the viewpoint of convenience and precise understanding for query. So, this paper has an aim to suggest the method that will cope with above problems and to design and implement a meta query processing system for information retrieval using Korean dialogue sentences. The system implemented in this paper can generates a new boolean query for a given Korean dialogue sentence and resolve lexical ambiguities through morphological analysis, syntactic analysis and extension of query using thesaurus.

  • Cell phenotypes are determined by the concerted activity of thousands of genes and their products. This activity is coordinated by a complex network that regulates the expression of genes. Understanding this organization is crucial to elucidate cellular activities, and many researches have tried to construct gene regulatory networks from mRNA expression data which are nowadays the most available and have a lot of information for cellular processes. Several computational tools, such as Boolean network, Qualitative network, Bayesian network, and so on, have been applied to infer these networks. Among them, Bayesian networks that we chose as the inference tool have been often used in this field recently due to their well-established theoretical foundation and statistical robustness. However, the relative insufficiency of experiments with respect to the number of genes leads to many false positive inferences. To alleviate this problem, we had developed the algorithm of MONET(MOdularized NETwork learning), which is a new method for inferring modularized gene networks by utilizing two complementary sources of information: biological annotations and gene expression. Afterward, we have packaged and improved MONET by combining dispersed functional blocks, extending species which can be inputted in this system, reducing the time complexities by improving algorithms, and simplifying input/output formats and parameters so that it can be utilized in actual fields. In this paper, we present the architecture of MONET system that we have improved.

  • FBA(flux balance analysis) with Boolean rules for representing regulatory events has correctly predicted cellular behaviors, such as optimal flux distribution, maximal growth rate, metabolic by-product, and substrate concentration changes, with various environmental conditions. However, until now, since FBA has not taken into account a hierarchical regulatory network, it has limited the representation of the whole transcriptional regulation mechanism and interactions between specific regulatory proteins and genes. In this paper, in order to solve these problems, we describe the construction of hierarchical regulatory network with defined symbols and the introduction of a weight for representing interactions between symbols. Finally, the whole cellular behaviors with time were simulated through the linkage of a hierarchical regulatory network module and dynamic simulation module including FBA. The central metabolic network of E. coli was chosen as the basic model to identify our suggested modeling method.

  • Due to the spread of mobile communication with the development of computer network, nowadays various types of multimedia data play an important role in many areas such as entertainments, culture contents, e-commerce or medical science. But for the real application of these data, the security in the course of saving or transferring them through the public network should be assured. In this sense, many encryption algorithm have been developed and utilized. Nonetheless, most of them have focused on the text data. So they may not be suitable to the multimedia application because of their large size and real time constraint. In this paper, a chaotic map has been employed to create a symmetric stream type of encryption scheme which may be applied to the digital images with a large amounts of data. Then an efficient algebraic encryption algorithm based on the elementary operations of the Boolean matrix and image data characteristics.

  • In this paper, we propose a discrete model of conveyor systems, which is frequently used in flexible manufacturing systems to transfer work-in-process( WIP) between manipulators. In the case where the time required for transferring WIP's between manipulators are greater than that of manufacturing itself, as in many flexible assembly lines, the quantitative model of the transfer systems is needed to analyze the behavior and productivity of the whole manufacturing system. The proposed model is based upon the assumptions that the length of any unit conveyor component is integer multiple of the length of a pallet and hat the transferring speed of the conveyor is constant. Under these assumptions, the observation moments and the length of the conveyor can be quantized. Hence, the state of a conveyor can be represented by two kinds of Boolean variables: one representing the presence of a pallet on each quantize conveyor length and the other representing the mobility of this pallet. The whole conveyor system can be modeling as a network composed of branches and knots based on these two Boolean variables. The proposed modelling method was tested with various conveyor system configurations and showed that the model can be adopted successfully for the simulation of transfer systems and of the piloting of manufacturing processes.
