김치의 숙성에 미치는 게껍질분말과 우골추출물의 첨가효과 (Effect of Crab-Shell Powder and Water Extract of Cow Bone on the Fermentation of Kimchi.)

  • 김치의 향미개선 및 게껍질 분말 첨가김치의 부미를 제거하기 위한 향미개선제로서 우골추출물의 첨가효과를 검토하였다 우골추출물은 김치의 숙성중 pH와 산도, 총균수, 젖산균비, Leuconostoc과 Lactobacilli의 수에는 큰 영향을 미치지 못하였으나 산미와 김치냄새를 감소시키고 종합적 맛을 개선시키는 향미 개선제로서의 역할을 하였다. 또 우골추출물(0.03%)을 게껍질분말(1.5%)과 함께 첨가할 경우는 게껍질분말만을 첨가한 경우보다 높은 pH를 유지하는 한편 완충효과가 증가되었으며 젖산균비가 높아졌다. 관능검사에 의하여 평가한 결과 게껄질분말을 단독으로 첨가한 경우보다 우골추출물을 병용하여 첨가한 김치에서 비린 맛이 낮아졌으며, 아삭아삭한 맛과 종합적인 맛은 숙성전반에 걸쳐 높게 나타났다.

  • In this study, we investigated a calcium phosphate-calcium sulfate injectable bone substitute (IBS) with organic reinforcement of chitosan, citric acid and hydroxypropyl-methyl-cellulose (HPMC). The powder component of IBS consisted of tetra calcium phosphate (TTCP), dicalcium phosphate dihydrate (DCPD) and calcium sulfate dihydrate (CSD). The liquid component was a solution of citric acid and chitosan. The effect of HPMC in terms of setting time, compressive strength and apatite forming ability on this IBS was investigated. The mass content of HPMC in liquid phase was varied in array of 0%, 2%, 3% and 4%. The setting times obtained between 20 and 45 minutes. Compressive strength was achieved over 20 MPa after incubation at 370C and in 100% humidity for 28 days. Porosities were evaluated in relation with compressive strength. Elastic moduli of the 28 days after-incubation IBS were obtained around 4GPa

생분해성 Calcium Metaphosphate골이식재의 골조직재생효과에 관한 연구 (The effect of calcium metaphosphate bone graft materials on bone regeneration)

  • Periodontal regeneration therapy with bone-substituting materials has gained favorable clinical efficacy by enhancing osseous regeneration in periodontal bony defect. As bone-substituting materials, bone powder, calcium phosphate ceramic, modified forms of hydroxyapatite, and hard tissue replacement polymer have demonstrated their periodontal bony regenerative potency. Bone-substituting materials should fulfill several requirements such as biocompatibility, osteogenecity, malleability, biodegradability. The purpose of this study was to investigate biocompatibility, osteo-conduction capacity and biodegradability of $Na_2O$, $K_2O$ added calcium metaphosphate(CMP). Beta CMP was obtained by thermal treatment of anhydrous $Ca_2(H_2PO_4)_2$. $Na_2O$ and $K_2O$ were added to CMP. The change of weight of pure CMP, $Na_2O$-CMP, and $K_2O$-CMP in Tris-buffer solution and simulated body fluid for 30 days was measured. Twenty four Newzealand white rabbits were used in negative control, positive control(Bio-Oss), pure CMP group, 5% $Na_2$-CMP group, 10% $Na_2O$-CMP goup, and 5% $K_2O$-CMP group. In each group, graft materials were placed in right and left parietal bone defects(diameter 10mm) of rabbit. The animals were sacrificed at 3 months and 6 months after implantation of the graft materials. Degree of biodegradability of $K_2O$ or $Na_2O$ added CMP was greater than that of pure CMP in experimental condition. All experimental sites were healed with no clinical evidence of inflammatory response to all CMP implants. Histologic observations revealed that all CMP grafts were very biocompatible and osseous conductive, and that in $K_2O$-CMP or $Na_2O$-CMP implanted sites, there was biodegradable pattern, and that in site of new bone formation, there was no significant difference between all CMP group and DPBB(Bio-Oss) group. From this result, it was suggested that all experimental CMP group graft materials were able to use as an available bone substitution.

유기물을 이용한 유기농 액비 제조 시 건조효모와 당밀 첨가에 따른 액비 특성 비교 (Comparison of Characteristics of Organic Liquid Fertilizer Containing Organic Resource by Adding Dry-yeast and Molasses)

  • 본 연구는 골분과 미강을 이용한 유기 액비 제조 시 건조효모와 당밀 첨가에 따른 액비의 무기성분 특성 변화를 구명하고 첨가 효과를 평가하고자 수행하였다. 액비 제조시 건조효모의 첨가 효과는 무첨가구에 비해 pH의 변화가 적고, EC의 증가폭이 컸으며 EC 값도 높게 나타났다. 또한 $NH_4$-N농도는 건조효모 첨가구가 $2,936mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$로 무첨가구의 $1,782mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$에 비해 높았다. 당밀 첨가 효과는 첨가구가 무첨가구에 비해 pH가 낮은 경향을 보였으며 EC는 당밀 무첨가구에서 다소 높은 것으로 나타났다.$NH_4$-N농도는 당밀 무첨가구가 $2,936mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$로 첨가구의 $2,378mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$에 비해 높았다. 따라서 액비 제조 시 건조효모 첨가는 유기물원의 분해를 촉진하여 식물이 이용할 수 있는 질소형태로 무기화를 촉진시키고, 당밀 첨가는 유기물의 분해를 억제하지만 발효 성상을 향상시키는 효과를 보였다. 또한 액비처리에 의한 부추생육을 조사한 결과, 양분공급에 의한 생육 증가 효과를 나타내었다.

Nutritional Composition in Bone Extracts from Jeju Crossbred Horses at Different Slaughter Ages

  • The effects of slaughter age (28, 32, or 38 mon) on the proximate composition, collagen content, fatty acid composition, amino acid content, and mineral contents of horse leg bone (femur and tibia) extracts (HLBE) obtained from Jeju crossbred horses (n=14) in Korea. HLBE was extracted for 24 h with boiling water. At those ages, the respective proximate compositions of the HLBE were found as follows: 5.20-6.42% crude protein; fat 0.61-1.65% crude; and 0.10-0.22% crude ash. At 32 and 38 mon, the HLBE showed higher levels of both crude protein and collagen than at 28 mon. The major fatty acids of the horse leg bone extract powder (HLBP) were palmitic acid and oleic acid. Palmitoleic acid and the essential fatty acids were higher in the HLBP at 38 mon compared to that at 28 mon. Nearly all the amino acids were found at higher levels in the HLBP at 38 mon than at 28 mon, except histidine. The P, K, Zn, Se and Fe contents in the HLBP increased significantly with age. These results suggest that some nutrients in the HLBE increase with age, and that extracts from horses older than 32 mon would be more nutritious for human consumers.

녹차 열수 추출물이 콩단백질을 급여한 흰쥐의 칼슘대사와 골격강도에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Hot Water Soluble Extract from Green Tea on Metabolism of Calcium and Bone Strength in rats fed Soy Protein Diet)

  • This study is to find out effects of hot water soluble extract from green tea, one of the Korean favorites, on the calcium metabolism and bone strength in body. To do so, calcium, phosphate, creatinine concentration and ALP activity in blood and the content of calcium and ash in the organ, the length, weight, strength in bone were measured. In addition, to find the calcium metabolism, the level of calcium intake, excretion, retention were measured. Twenty male Sprague-Dawley rats were divided into two groups and isoloated soy protein was provided as the source of protein and CaCO₃ was provided as the source of calcium. 0.5% hot water soluble extract from green tea was provided to the green tea groups and for the control group deionized water was provided. The results are as follows ; 1. There is no difference between the experimental groups in diet intake, weight gain, and the feed intake. 2. Feed efficiency ratio was low in the group which hot water soluble extract from green tea was provided. 3. There is no difference between groups the level of calcium, phosphorus, creatinine and ALP activity in serum. 4. There is no difference between groups weight, contents of ash and calcium in kidney and liver. 5. There is no difference between groups in calcium intake, absorption, excretion, and retention. 6. There is no difference between groups weight, length and strength in bone. In summary, when hot water soluble extract from green tea was provided with the amount of 150-200mg, which is taken when people generally drink as favorite tea, weight gain was reduced due to the decrease of feed efficiency ratio. However, it did not affect the availability of calcium in body at all. Thus, even if a big quantity of green tea powder or solid of hot green tea extract is not provided, the quantity obtained when people drink green tea lowers the feed efficiency ratio without reducing availability of calcium in body.

Tensile Properties of Hybrid Fiber-Reinforced Reactive Powder Concrete After Exposure to Elevated Temperatures

  • The paper presents a research project on the tensile properties of RPC mixed with both steel and polypropylene fibers after exposure to $20-900^{\circ}C$. The direct and the indirect tensile strength (in bending) were measured through tensile experiment on dog-bone specimens and bending experiment on $40{\times}40{\times}160mm$ prisms. RPC microstructure was analyzed using scanning electron microscope. The results indicate that, steel fibers can significantly improve the tensile performance of hybrid fiber-reinforced RPC, whereas polypropylene fibers have no obvious effect on the tensile performance. With increasing temperature, the flexural and axial tensile strength of hybrid fiber-reinforced RPC substantially decrease linearly, which attributes to the deteriorating microstructure. Based on the experimental results, equations are established to express the decay of the flexural and tensile strength with increasing temperature.

인공치아용 수산화 인산칼슘 요업체의 제조 (Preparation of Dense Polycrystalline Hydroxyapatite Ceramics for the Application of Tooth Implants)

  • the preliminary work on the prepartion of fine hydroxyapatite powder and the synthesis of dense hydroxyapatite ceramic from the powder were investigated for the development of artificial bone and tooth materials for implants. The effects of the process variables such as compositions of the raw materials the initial pH of the solutions and sintering temperature on the physical properties were investigated in order to determine the optimum conditions for the fabrication of tooth implant material. As the initial pH of the solutions was increased in the range of 10-11.6 the initial particle size of precipitates was decreased thus the sinterability of precipitates was improved. It was found that the composition of calcium rich of 1.75 in Ca/P mole ratio exhibited better sinterability and mechanical strength of the apatite ceramics for example the highest value of Vicker's hardness obtained from the compositions of 1.75 in Ca/P mole ratio was 764±30 Kg/mm2 compared to the maximum value of 600 kg/mm2 obtained from the compositions of 1.67 in Ca/P mole ratio.

Effect of Organic Materials on Seedling Growth and Yield of Red Pepper

  • In this study, growth of pepper seedlings was tested by treating organic materials in a plastic green house in Ssangok-ri Dogok-myeon, Hwasun-gun, Jeollanam Province from February 3, 2010 to April 19, 2010. The raised seedlings were planted to the organic planting area with an interval of $70cm{\times}55cm$ on April 20 in Deogam-ri Gogeum-myeon Wando-gun and red peppers were harvested at 7 times from July 22 to September 29. Before planting, the plant length of the overgrowth of seedlings was reduced by 26.8% using plant powder treatment as compared to the control group. The red pepper yield was 27% higher than in the control group when 20g of bone ash powder and 20g of plant powder were mixed. The yield tended to increase in other treatments compared to the control group.

TTCP-DCPA-β-TCP-PHA계 골 시멘트 (Bone Cements in TTCP, DCPA, β-TCP and PHA System)

  • 본 연구에서는 Tetracalcium Phosphate(TTCP), Dicalcium Phosphate Anhydrate(DCPA)계 골 시멘트에 $\beta$-tricalcium Phosphate (TCP)와 Precipitated Hydroxy Apatite(PHA)를 첨가하였을 때, 골시멘트의 초기 응결시간과 강도에 미치는 영향 및 in vitro test후의 표면 미세구조의 변화를 관찰하고자 하였다. 골 시멘트에 사용된 TTCP와 $\beta$-TCP는 약 3-5$mu extrm{m}$으로 합성후 분쇄하였으며, DCPA는 0.9$\mu\textrm{m}$, 그리고 PHA는 4$\mu\textrm{m}$의 평균 입경을 가졌다. 각각의 조성으로 배합된 시멘트는 Vicat건에 의한 초기응결시간 측정과 압축강도 시험을 행하였고, 의사체액내에 침적 후 침전 생성물을 x-선 회절 분석과 주사전자현미경을 이용하여 분석, 관찰 하였다. 초기 응결시간은 $\beta$-TCP나 PHA의 존재 유무와 함량의 증가에 따라 크게 좌우되지 않았으나, 분말 : 액상의 비에 영향을 받았으며, 특히 PHA가 함유되는 경우 PHA의 비표면적으로 인하여 응결에 요구되는 액상의 양은 PHA가 없는 경우에 비하여 2배 이상 되었다. $\beta$-TCP PHA의 첨가로 인해 압축강도는 낮아졌고, 이는 수화 생성물인 HAP의 생성 정도가 낮았기 때문이었다. 이는 x-선 회절 분석과 주사전자 현미경 관찰을 통하여 확인할 수 있었다. 본 연구로부터 TTCP-DCPA계 골 시멘트에 $\beta$-TCP나 PHA의 첨가는 기계적 물성과 생체 반응성 향상에 효과적이지 못하다는 것을 확인 할 수 있었다.
