  • This study is for the textiles of at Sun Am Temple and characteristic of embroidery. Tak Ui was composed of orange body and green upper cover, and had no strings. The body plate was covered with embroidery, with Gauze base, and upper part was appliqued, by cutting dragon pattern, cloud pattern on satin damask. The thread for embroidery was silk floss, silk twisted thread, rapped gold thread, and rapped silk thread. For padding, it was used cotton thread in the part of dragon's scales. It was used satin stitch, outline stitch, split stitch, couching, and counted stitch, etc. as method of embroidery. In particular, it embroidered counted stitch of diamond shape consecutively on the whole of Tak Ui, it does so with counted stitch of same effect of weaving Brocade in the part of cloud. Besides, it is one of the characteristic for couching rapped silk thread. Such lead embroidery is the popular method in the Ming dynasty of China, in the 16~17 century. The design of Tak Ui is dragon, cloud, and wave in the theme. In the center, 'Seong-su-man-nyeon' was placed on the heads of dragon. This is similar to Dragon Robe of Four-petalled medallion patterns, period of Ming dynasty in China. Therefore, it confirmed that Tak Ui was remodeled the embroidered textiles, made for royal robe, originally, with Tak Ui at temple.

  • A good grasp of the failure mechanisms of resistance spot weld, widely used in joining the auto-panels, in essential to the structural/crashworthy analyses and integrity assessment of the whole auto-body. In this study, We provide an estimative model describing the failure behavior of resistance spotf weld, and apply the model to the finite element analysis of crashworthiness. First, in "Part 1-Failure Criteria", to be used for the finite element analysis of spot-welded structural panels of an auto-body, (i) a methodology for quantifying the spot weld failure and the accompanying failure criteria are presented, and (ii) the coefficients of the failure equation are determined by a munimum number of appropriate experimental tests. To achieve these, we derive the functional form of the failure envelop by limit analysis, and correlate it with the form in PAM-$CRASH^{TM}$ code, and also investigate the effect of the failure coefficients on the failure envelop form. An estimative model obtained in this Part1, as spot weld failure criteria is applied to the Macroscopic finite element analysis of autobody structural panels using PAM-$CRASH^{TM}$ code in Part 2.

  • In this study, we select and analyze the slang that is represented in Elistratov's "Dictionary of Russian slang". Through the above analysis, some conclusions were drawn as follows: First, as a social and psychological phenomenon appears universal in all languages, the study of slang generates strict criteria for the analysis. Unlike literary language, listed in the dictionary slang expressions can become obsolete for their short period of usage by native speakers. Therefore, in the following research of the actual data, we have to validate words targeted for analysis. Second, as the result of the analysis it is metaphor for the most part studied rather than metonymy. The semantic derivations as a result of metonymy are used very frequently in real life. But in this study we mainly analyze words, therefore the number of words was less in metonymy than was expected. Third, the basic types of metaphor are appeared as similarity by form, function, and location, and there are varieties of intervening of subjectivity in similarity of emotional impression. Fourth, the metonymy is divided into three cases: the part meaning the whole, the whole meaning the part, and some thing meaning the reality of where it exists. Fifth, not only literary language, but also slang as the 'transitional process' is the most active way of development of new meanings, and there are two methods to transfer main meaning to second meaning.

The study developed a new cycle wear with improvement in dissatisfaction factors by planning design, pattern and the functionality of fabric. Considering the amount of sweat and the necessities of compression part, the basic material, the additional compression material, and the mesh material were arranged differently according to areas. The assessment of the developed cycle wear was composed of wearing comfort evaluation by female cyclist, photo analysis and garment pressure evaluation. The developed cycle wear was evaluated and compared with the current cycle wear. As a result of wearing comfort evaluation, the developed cycle wear was evaluated as better than the existing ones in all part, particularly in the areas of reflection tape and materials, partial pressure, pocket size, and prevention of loss. Photo analysis was in agreement with the appearance evaluation of the participants. As a result of garment pressure evaluation, the front neck part was more comfortable and the upper arm, abdomen, and waist area showed higher pressure, so it partially supported the body. This study has significant meaning for developing a new cycle wear top, protecting the body and improving the exercise effect.

  • The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between body cathexis and clothing satisfaction. The questionnaire was administered to 458 female college students in Daegu and Sangju and the results were obtained as follows. From the questionnaire, the 14 body parts were categorized into 4 factors, these being weight/girth, lower body, face, height/length. The bust girth was not included into one of these 4 factors. Subjects were dissatisfied with all of their body parts, especially with thigh, hip girth in the lower part of the body, as well as their weight. According to the Rohrer Index distribution, 99.2% of respondents were thin or normal, but means of respondents' satisfaction scores on weight and height were very low. To measure clothing satisfaction two factors were included, these being 'satisfaction with one's clothing selection ability' and 'satisfaction with one's own clothes'. The respondents were quite neutral on their clothing selection ability and their own clothes. Two factors about clothing satisfaction were correlated negatively. All of body cathexis factors were correlated positively with 'satisfaction with one's clothing selection ability' and were correlated slightly negatively with 'satisfaction with one's own clothes'.

It has been investigated into the elder woman's body type since 1995, and this subject needs a detailed study. in audition, investigation into woman's body type has been studied parts of the body for clothing construction. 2. Analysis result for measure area preponderance(Seoul area and local metropolitan city) of area, measure subject number mainly to large scale group more than 300 people that measure is consisting most know can. 3. Where the way of measurement is concerned, there are direct measurements more than indirect measurements. In case of using just direct measurement, the study often mentions necessity of indirect measurements. Therefore it is thought simultaneous measurement is the most desirable. 4. A Body type characteristic of elder woman shows a size of every part diminishes as growing older. Owing mainly to obesity of waist and abdomen, they have a changed body a measure of around the abdomen is bigger than around the hips. hips drop and the upper half of the body down, and besides, feet are changed into the flat.

  • The purpose of this study was to study real body size and ideal body shape by consoidering the degree of satisfaction at body part and understanding body size by the degree of leanness/obesity. The subjects in this study were 201 female college students aged from 18 to 26. Boby measurements and survey were taken from May to June, 1991 and 1992. Data were analyzed by correlation analysis, regression analysis, cluster analysis, ANOVA, discriminant analysis and crosstabulation analysis. The results were as follows ; 1. The subjects tended to be satisfied with long and slim limbs, slim trunk, and prefered to be tall in height and light in weight. Also the consciousness about thickness was keener than that about length of the body. 2. The subjects were conscious that lower body was more obese than and upper body. Also, the consciousness of whole body had higher correlation with that of upper body than lower body. 3. The subjects were classified into 4 clusters each consisting 23, 87. 68, 23 by cluster analysis of 21 variables after a transformation of measurements to eliminate body size factor. This classification was considered to express how lean or how obese a human body appears. 4. According to the degree of leanness/obesity from lean tendency group I to obese tendency group IV, characteristics of the body shape were changed as follows ; height lower, limbs shorter, trunk and limbs thicker and weight heavier. 5. The subjects of lean tendency group I were more satisfied with their body than those of obese tendency group IV. 6. The subjects, although they were not judged to be obese by somatometric measurements, felt themselves obese. Also, they hoped to be slimmer at lower body than upper body.
