This study was conducted to find adolescent females perception of body image. The survey was carried out by self-questionnaires with 463 female school and college students in Daegu. Analysis of data was done using t-test, and ANOVA with the SAS computer program. The average height, weight and BMI of the subjects were 161.2cm, 53.4kg and 20.51kg/$m^2$. It appeared that 33.3% of the subjects were off the normal range of body weight ; in particular 25.1% of the subjects were under weight. While the subjects’perception of their own current body image was not distorted, they were dissatisfied with their body image because they wanted a very thin figure. Subjects were divided into 3 groups -underweight, normal weight, overweight-according to their current body size. Their perceptions of ideal and desired figures differed significantly between the groups, but they thought a thinner figure than normal body image as ideal and desired body image even in overweight group. As a result, dissatisfaction of body image in the overweight group was significantly larger than the normal-weight group, and that of the normal-weight group was larger than the underweight group. Percentages of weight control attempt were 51.7% and 64.7% in the normal weight and underweight subjects, respectively. Subjects were divided into 2 groups according to their weight control experience : those who have attempted, and who have not attempted. Weight control attemptees had a higher level of dissatisfaction with their body image than non-attemptees, both because weight control attemptees were fatter, and they perceived a thinner figure as an ideal and as a desired body image thin non-attemptees. From the results of this study, we confirmed that one of reasons of excessive weight control behavior among adolescent females was distorted perception about ideal body image.
Two kinds of Bi2Te3 powders, pure Bi2Te3/2vol.%ZrO2, have been prepared by a mechanical grinding process process. Effect of mixing of the powders on thermoelectric of the sintered body has been investigated by measuring Seebeck Coeffcient, specific electric resistivity and thermal conductivity. With an increase in the weight fraction of the Bi2Te3/2vol.%ZrO2 powder from 0 to 40wt.%. Especially, the figure of merit of the mixedBi2Te3 sintered body increases and thereafter dedreases above 40wt.%. Especially. the figure of merit of the mixed Bi2Te3 sintered bodies with mixing of Bi2Te3/2vol.%ZrO2 powder increased about 1.3time in comparison with the value of the specimen before mixing. Mixing of two kinds of Bi2Te3 powders which have different theramal and electric propertries with each other seemed to be useful methob to increase the figure of merit of Bi2Te3 sintered body.
The purpose of this study was to characterize the somatotype of children and to provide fundamental data for the construction of the dress figure. The subjects for anthropometric measurements were 384 elementary school children aged from 6 to 7 living in Seoul and Pucheon. The data were analyzed statistically according to SPSS/PC + version 3.1. Through the factor analysis, six factors were obtained. The six factors represented the body girth and weight, the height and sleeve length, the trunk length, the shoulder size, the body curvature, and the posture of upper torso, respectively. The subjects were classified into six clusters. Among the six clusters, four clusters covered about 95.9% of the whole subjects were determined as the sources of fundamental data for the children's dress figure.
This study classified figure types of adult males into several kinds of shape to provide fundamental data for their clothing sizing system. The subjects were 1496 men aged between 20 and 60 years old. Data were analyzed by factor analysis, cluster analysis and discriminant analysis. The results were as follows 1. For the result of the interview, the data were grouped into three age brackets: 20-35,31-45 and 41-60 years. 2. Factor analysis using values, which were measurements divided by either weight or height, was carried out to extract factors which characterize the various figures. fve factors to determine the figure types were extracted. 3. Cluster analysis using factor scores was carried out to categorize the figure types within the age groups. Figure types, describing shoulder angie and body shape, were categorized into 3 per age group. 4. Stepwise discriminant analysis w3s used to ensure that these clusters could be utilized with appropriate hit ratio. The hit ratio for each age group was around 80%.

This study was conducted to investigate the effects of sociocultural attitude toward appearance, social pressure, and stress on university students' body figure discrepancy. A total of 363 students were recruited from a university in C and A city. Data were collected by self-reported questionnaires from Oct 27 to Dec 9, 2016. Statistical analyses of the collected data were conducted using SPSS 20.0 and consisted of descriptive statistics, Pearson's correlation, and multiple regression. A positive relationship was observed between body figure discrepancy and female's sociocultural attitude toward appearance (r=.406, p=.006), peer pressure (r=.197, p<.001), parental pressure (r=.176, p=.002), and stress (r=.218, p<.001). Body figure discrepancies increased with peer pressure (${\beta}=.159$, p=.007), stress (${\beta}=.186$, p=.002), and BMI (${\beta}=.186$, p=.002), and these factors accounted for 10.9% of the body figure discrepancy. To reduce body figure discrepancy, it is necessary to develop health education and promotion programs that enable university students to manage weight and stress for health maintenance and to have positive self-assessment without being hurt by other people's view or evaluation.
This study was conducted to compare the body image perception, weight control experiences and the eating disorders according to where they were born, and the length of residence in USA among Korean-American college students. Three hundred college students participated in the study: 144 males and 156 females, 122 America-born (AB) and 171 Korea-born (KB) who live in New York City and New Jersey. Subjects responded to a self-administered questionnaire. The results showed that the ratio of overweight (23.2%) and obesity (26.8%) of males was higher than females'(16.1% and 6.3%, respectively). There were no significant differences according to born-place or the length of residence in USA of KB. People who had tried to control their weight were 58%. The ratio of weight control experiences of females (72.4%) was higher than males' (42.4%) as well as people who were normal or underweight than who were overweight or obesity. There were no significant differences according to born-place or the length of the residence in the USA of KB. In body image perception, the subjects who were normal and underweight overestimated their body figure, and the subjects who were overweight and obese underestimated their body figure. The desired and ideal figure of female students was significantly thinner than the current figure and also that of male students. There were no significant differences according to born-place or the length of the residence in USA of KB. The ratio of eating disorder was 8.7%, and females had higher percentage than males. And shorter they lived in USA, the percentage of eating disorder was higher.
The author of this study would like to consider the influence that socio-cultural attitudes to the appearance offemale college students have on body image and satisfaction. The results of this study were as follows: 1. According to the result of the analysis of the relevant factors of socio-cultural attitudes on outward appearance of women college students, three factors which are named "Internalization", "Awareness" and "Non-confirmity" have been drawn out: 2. According to the result of the factor analysis for the evaluation of the behavioral figure images of women college students, three factors which are named "Figure Management", "Weight Management" and "Figure Valuation" have been drawn out: 3. Socio-cultural attitudes to appearance have correlation with body image, BMI and self-satisfaction of body and appearance: 4. According to consideration of the result of the study of the Influence that socio-cultural attitudes to the appearance have on physical satisfactionof each physical part, it is showed that they have managed their physical weight according to the satisfaction degree of weight and other circumference items: 5. Socio-cultural attitudes to appearance have high correlation with appearance management and weight management.
This study analyzed the body shape of women over 70 years and classified their body shapes in order to provide basic data for the development of pants patterns that can complement the weakness of the body shape of elderly women. It were analyzed using SPSS Ver. 20.0. Five factors were extracted from the lower body: obesity and thigh thickness, lower body length, under knee thickness, ankle height, and hip sag. In type 1, the lower body was obese and the legs were thick, but the hips were not sagging. It was named 'high-hip obesity figure'. Type 2's abdomen, hip, and waist were obese, but the legs were thin and the hip were not sagging. Thus, 'bird-leg middle obesity figure' was the name. Type 3 had a long and slender lower body, but legs were thick and the hips were saggy, it was named 'strong-leg low-hip slender figure'. The elderly women showed less difference in waist, abdomen, and hip circumference. The abdominal circumference was 2-3cm more than the waist and hip circumference; hence there is a need to differentiate the shape and number of darts in the production of bottom-wear patterns for older women. In addition, the leg circumference is gradually reduced by aging compared to the size of the lower body. Therefore, it would be necessary to search for a method that can effectively design the difference between the hip circumference and the leg circumference in relation to the body shape and the aesthetics of older women.
This research analyzed the anthropometric data for Filipino plus-size women. The study aims to identify key dimensions used for the sizing system that can improve on fit and style concerns/issues for the plus-sizes. This study also develop a reference of body measurements for Filipino plus-size women from the data collected. The data was collected from subjects residing or working in the University of the Philippines and within Metro Manila. The full figure body shapes have been derived from the raw anthropometric data. The pear and the barrel shapes were derived figure types based on the anthropometric data collected. These body types show that weight distribution is on the lower torso for the pear and the upper torso for the barrel.
