We aim to elucidate suitable mixed color of light during development of fruit body in Pleurotus ostreatus. The four mixed color of LED(Light Emitting Diode), blue and white, green and white, blue and green and green and red LED, were irradiated for formation of fruit-body. First, as effect of mixed color of LED, the properties of fruit body of P. ostreatus in blue and white LED irradiation were showed higher commercial yields than those in control(fluorescent lamp). And the ergothioneine was the highest at the blue and white LED. Second, we could obtain higher commercial yields than those at the $1{\mu}mol/m^2/s$ of light intensity by blue and white LED in P. ostreatus.
This paper describes a method for vision-based person identification that can detect, track, and recognize person from video using multiple cues: height and dressing colors. The method does not require constrained target's pose or fully frontal face image to identify the person. First, the system, which is connected to a pan-tilt-zoom camera, detects target using motion detection and human cardboard model. The system keeps tracking the moving target while it is trying to identify whether it is a human and identify who it is among the registered persons in the database. To segment the moving target from the background scene, we employ a version of background subtraction technique and some spatial filtering. Once the target is segmented, we then align the target with the generic human cardboard model to verify whether the detected target is a human. If the target is identified as a human, the card board model is also used to segment the body parts to obtain some salient features such as head, torso, and legs. The whole body silhouette is also analyzed to obtain the target's shape information such as height and slimness. We then use these multiple cues (at present, we uses shirt color, trousers color, and body height) to recognize the target using a supervised self-organization process. We preliminary tested the system on a set of 5 subjects with multiple clothes. The recognition rate is 100% if the person is wearing the clothes that were learned before. In case a person wears new dresses the system fail to identify. This means height is not enough to classify persons. We plan to extend the work by adding more cues such as skin color, and face recognition by utilizing the zoom capability of the camera to obtain high resolution view of face; then, evaluate the system with more subjects.
Larval morphological characters such as body color and stripe pattern were analyzed to get morphological genetic markers of beet armyworm, Spodoptera exigua (Hiibner). Body color was varied from light green to dark brown with diets. Stripe characters were classified by the presence of dorsal and lateral lines: three stripes with both lines, one stripe with dorsal line only, and zero stripe. Proportions of each stripe character increased with successive selections for its own character. Three stripe was dominant to one stripe when they were crossed. The estimated heritability in narrow sense (h2) of the stripe pattern was 0.50k0.42. About two fold more females than males were produced in zero stripe line. Stripe pattern was not significantly changed by different diets except in welsh onion which had lower proportion of three stripe individuals than that of the expected. Larval stripe pattern was also correlated with larval and pupal developmental rates and cold hardiness but not with insecticide susceptibility.

In this paper, a landmark based localization system using a Kinect sensor is proposed and evaluated with the implemented system for precise and autonomous navigation of low cost robots. The proposed localization method finds the positions of landmark on the image plane and the depth value using color and depth images. The coordinates transforms are defined using the depth value. Using coordinate transformation, the position in the image plane is transformed to the position in the body frame. The ranges between the landmarks and the Kinect sensor are the norm of the landmark positions in body frame. The Kinect sensor position is computed using the tri-lateral whose inputs are the ranges and the known landmark positions. In addition, a new matching method using the pin hole model is proposed to reduce the mismatch between depth and color images. Furthermore, a height error compensation method using the relationship between the body frame and real world coordinates is proposed to reduce the effect of wrong leveling. The error analysis are also given to find out the effect of focal length, principal point and depth value to the range. The experiments using 2D bar code with the implemented system show that the position with less than 3cm error is obtained in enclosed space($3,500mm{\times}3,000mm{\times}2,500mm$).
We spend about 40% of lifte time on a bed and seek how such amount of time is spent comfort. Bed comfort has been pursuited. The pressure distributions on a bed by body pressure has been considered as one of the most important factors of bed comfort. This study is to quantify the subjective assessment by the body pressure distribution and develop the objective evaluation method of bed comfort. A new measurement system for body pressure on a bed was developed in this study. The thin film pressure sensor (FSR: Force Sensing Resistor) of an elastomer-type was used to prevent the distortion of contact pressure. The pressure distribution is measured by FSR and displayed on the monitor by color-coded contour patterns. Some of the bed test results were described. And the relations between body pressure distribution and bed comfort were evaluated.

Everything of the world we live in has its own unique color. Those colors move us, enrich our every day life, and make us happy. When we have our hairs dyed by a color we like, we may look different, feeling confident and activated. We select a color fur our hair color design depending on such symbolic aspects as our life styles, self-images or personalities. Namely, we tend to choose a color the image of which we like. Such a tendency implies that it should be important to study hair colors in multi-faceted ways. The purpose of this study was to survey people's preferences of hair color tone images depending on their demographic and physical variables and thereby, determine the correlations between their preferences and variables. For this purpose, hair colors tones were classified into 11 categories and thereby, subjects' preferences of hair tones were analyzed in terms of the image adjective combinations. The results of this study can be summarized as follows; As a result of analyzing subjects' preferences of hair color tones depending on their such demographic variables as gender, age group and marital status, it was found that males tended to prefer dark tones more than females, and that those in their 30's or older tended to select dark tones more than those in their 20's. On the other hand, the married preferred medium bright tones more than the singles. Furthermore, such physical variables as body size, weight and apparel size were found correlated with hair color tone preferences. To be specific, shorter people desired more to have their hair colors match with their natural ones not to be less exposed to others. Lastly, as a result of analyzing the correlation between hair color tone preferences and weight and apparel size, it was found that fat people tended more to prefer medium bright color tones than normal or slim people.

The purpose of the study was to investigate the interaction effect of garment formality, Yin -Yang level, and body type of children on impression formation. The experimental materials developed for the study were a set of stimuli (8 color photographs) and a response scale (34 bipolar adjectives) and the subjects were 267 elementary school teachers in Taejon area who were responsible for the first grade students. Results were as follows; The 3 independent variables showed significant effects on impression of the 4 factors (sociability, potency, dynamics, cooperation) of impression. Since body type had interaction effects with garment formality and subject's gender, the two body types were separately analyzed. For the normal body type, only the garment formality affected on impression of cooperation factor But for the large body type, garment formality affected on impression of potency dimension, garment Yin-Yang level affected on social and dynamics dimension, and subject's gender affected on social and cooperation dimensions. The body type was the most salient variables and clothing effects for the large body type was significantly different for the normal body type. It is concluded that the results support the cognitive categorization theory on impression formation.
The current study was conducted to determine the optimum length of feed withdrawal for pre-harvest broilers. A total of three hundred broilers were sampled from an industrial population, and 30 chicks for each weight group (e.g., 1.5 and 2.5 kg) were randomly assigned to feed withdrawal treatments for 0, 3, 6, 9 and 12 h. Weight loss, yield, muscle pH, objective meat color and weights of gastro intestinal contents, crop, gizzard, provenriculus, small intestine, caecum, and rectum were determined. Live weight loss was significantly (p<0.05) increased as length of feed withdrawal extended. A significant (p<0.05) carcass yield for both 1.5 and 2.5 kg groups coincided after 9 and 6 h feed withdrawal, respectively. Net weights of intestinal contents for crop and gizzard were significantly (p<0.05) reduced by 6 h, and the reduction for proventriculus and small intestine occurred from 3 h. A noticeable effect of feed withdrawal on pH for breast muscle at 3 h postmortem occurred only when chicks were fasted for 3 h of which pH (6.05) was significantly (p<0.05) higher than that for other groups including the control (5.74). There was a linear tendency of higher lightness (Hunter L* value) numerically for chicks fasted for longer periods. The highest coefficient of determinations of regression models to estimate weight loss as a function of fasting period and body weights were achieved, when the models included both linear and quadratic terms for fasting period, and linear term for both 1.5 ($R^2=0.76$) and 2.5 kg ($R^2=0.78$) body weight groups. Given the practical aspect, approximately 1.5 kg of body weight is dominant, weight loss could be predicted by the following function; live weight $loss=26.6-0.28{\times}(fasting period)^2+12.34{\times}pasting\;period-0.012{\times}body\;weight$, $R^2=0.76$. Current data implied that the optimum fasting time for pre-slaughter chicks varied depending on slaughter weight; 6 and 9-h fasting were recommendable for 2.5 and 1.5 kg chicks, with little effect on objective meat color.
