The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of perception of physical attractiveness and demographic variables on health promoting behavior and appearance management behavior. This study used a questionnaire. The participants were 325 adult women. The results were as follows. As they were younger, their perception of physical attractiveness was more positive, and they were a tendency to manage their appearance with clothing, makeup, skin care, and hair style more active. As they were older, they perceived higher in the mental and physical health promoting behavior. The higher perception of physical attractiveness people had, the higher awareness of mental health promoting behavior they had. Finally, appearance management behaviors such as clothing, cosmetics, and body care were found to have a positive effect on physical health promoting behavior.

The environmental education with ideal teaching tools (e.g., a small-scaled experimental kit) is essential for raising the public's, especially student's, awareness of many environmental issues. This study was undertaken to develop a do-it-yourself model instrument of acid rain and estimating its applicability to the environmental education. Our novel model tool consists of a body (17 cm width, 6 cm depth, and 17 cm height), an acid gas injector, acid four rain reservoirs, and a drop supply pump. An alternative model instrument that can be more readily assembled was also suggested. Based on our novel approach, we carried out several model experiments with educatees (i.e., high school and college students, and adults). The results of questionnaires indicated that educatees achieved a very deep understanding of acid rain through an experienced model experiment. A 77 to 89% of educatees experienced the reappearance experiment of acid rain by our model instrument felt that it was very useful as a teaching tool of environmental education.

Langerhans cell histiocytosis (LCH), a disorder of the phagocytic system, is a rare condition. Moreover, spinal involvement causing myelopathy is even rare and unusual. Here, we report a case of atypical LCH causing myelopathy, which was subsequently treated by corpectemy and fusion. A 5-year-old boy presented with 3 weeks of severe neck pain and limited neck movement accompanying right arm motor weakness. CT scans revealed destruction of C7 body and magnetic resonance imaging showed a tumoral process at C7 with cord compression. Interbody fusion using cervical mesh packed by autologus iliac bone was performed. Pathological examination confirmed the diagnosis of LCH. After the surgery, the boy recovered from radiating pain and motor weakness of right arm. Despite the rarity of the LCH in the cervical spine, it is necessary to maintain our awareness of this condition. When neurologic deficits are present, operative treatment should be considered.

Although the general concept of suffering care includes palliative care for the terminally ill that is designed to alleviate pain, it is much more holistic and encompasses emotional, spiritual and other life dimensions. Human suffering is multi-dimensional including spiritual and religious aspects, which diverge from the concept of pain understood in the context of materialistic medical approach. In this caring perspective, the body, mind and spirit are integrated so that objectivity and subjectivity can merge. The extended awareness with inner source or energy, and positive thinking about the personally-relevant God can be meaningful the dying person, family members and the caring team. Despite the importance of an inclusive understanding of human suffering, actual nursing practice still does not fully embrace the full understanding of human suffering. A more fundamental meaning of human suffering from the nursing perspective may fruitfully adopt a more inclusive view of human suffering.

Writing is an indispensable skill among the four language skills, but in actual teaching, it is also a difficult part to master for students. To improve students' writing ability, it is very important to understand their cognition and attitude towards writing. Because students are the main body of learning, learning and teaching are complementary to each other. Comprehending students' opinions is very significant for improving teaching. For this, the purpose of this paper is to investigate the perception and attitudes of Korean college students towards Chinese writing de ply, and based on the results of the survey, this study also suggested several proposals. As one of the basic researches of writing teaching design, this paper provides a certain reference basis of future instructional curriculum designs.

Purpose : The acupuncture existed more than 2000 years and has flourished not only in Asia but also in medical field of modern world. In addition, empirical evidences from biomedicine have been expended in many ways in order to objectify the field of acupuncture. Thus, the effect and mechanism of the acupuncture has been revealed in human and other animals. In this article, I attempt to explain what doctors and patients subjectively experience through acupuncture treatment and its clinical significance based on mind-body medicine. Methods : The experience and clinical significance of the acupuncture was examined in the view of mind-body medicine, also reviewed research trends related to meditation understanding the clinical effectiveness of acupuncture. Results and Conclusions : Traditional Korean medical doctor perceive generally "jogi " and "chishin " meaning the regulation of the balance of the various functions in the human body and patient's consciousness and psychology state as mightily important concept concerning the therapeutic effect of acupuncture. Despite scientific approach to objective understanding of the acupuncture was performed in the meantime, practitioners put emphasis on experience based on sensate and interaction between doctor-patient. As it reflects the recent understanding of the psychological effects associated with the clinical efficacy of acupuncture, it has been presented one by one through neuroscience and cognitive science. Therefore it is important that interpreting the clinical effectiveness of acupuncture into Mind-body medicine can form a new awareness and attitudes toward traditional medicine.

Research was carried out on 204 university students in Daegu and Seoul who majored in food and nutrition (male: 23, female: 84) and physical education (male: 79, female: 18). The average age of males was 21.6 and for females 21.5. The Body Mass Index (BMI) was $21.74{\pm}2.91kg/m^2$ normal. The research examined attitudes on exercise. Dietary life and health awareness. It turned out both groups gave strong consideration to healthy habits and an awareness of exercise. Students majoring in physical education showed a positive self-evaluation of health but also showed higher rates of exposure to smoking as well. Both groups realized the importance of both exercise and nutrition in education. In terms of breakfast, few students frequently had breakfast (31.4% out of total) and of these. 64.5% had it traditionally (boiled rice, soup, and side dishes). There were 3.4% students who never had breakfast. As shown in our research, students who majored in food and nutrition had positive attitudes on exercise, dietary life, and health for the future, rather than the present. Thus, the development of educational and support programs, to make this future real are greatly needed.

Smart homes integrated with sensors, actuators, wireless networks and context-aware middleware will soon become part of our daily life. This paper describes a context-aware middleware providing an automatic home service based on a user's preference. The context-aware middle-ware utilizes 6 basic data for learning and predicting the user's preference on the multimedia content : the pulse, the body temperature, the facial expression, the room temperature, the time, and the location. The six data sets construct the context model and are used by the context manager module. The log manager module maintains history information for multimedia content chosen by the user. The user-pattern learning and pre-dicting module based on a neural network predicts the proper home service for the user. The testing results show that the pattern of an in-dividual's preferences can be effectively evaluated and predicted by adopting the proposed context model.

Object: Recently, demend for Korean Medicine have been rapidly increasing in Korea. However, there are still a few studies for recognition, satisfaction and satisfaction factors of Korean Medicine to increase competitiveness of Korean-Medical service. Thus, the purpose of this study is to grope ways to strengthen the competitiveness of Korean-Medical service by investigating recognition and satisfaction factors on Korean medicine. Method: People who have been experienced Korean Medicine were targets of investigation. Questionnaire was consisted of questions about awareness for the Korean Medicine, awareness of Korean-Medical treatment, satisfaction level for Korean Medicine, satisfaction and dissatisfaction factors. This questionnaires were conducted through personal interviews. Result: Total 315 members responded to the survey and the results of the analysis were as follows. 1. Korean Medicine treatment was recognized as the scientific medical act to protect human body wellness. 2. Korean-Medical service can be represented by acupuncture and moxibustion therapy, physical therapy, Korean medicine. And care for diseases such as pain disorders, chronic fatigue, anti-aging, and geriatric disease were wanted. 3. The factors that influence on satisfaction of the Medical Services was the perception that Korean Medicine is scientific and safe. Conclusion: To strengthen the competitiveness of Korean-Medical service, first, efforts to enhance the effectiveness of the basic treatment such as acupuncture and moxibustion, herbal medicine are required. Second, scientific development of Korean Medicine is necessary. Finally, the effort to offer various services of Korean Medicine are needed.

Centered on Kathleen Kye, a designer who conveyed messages on social issues through her dresses, and established her own identity, this study aimed to examine what theme, method of expression and inner meaning her 'statement' had, as a way of expressing a critical awareness. After reviewing discussions by Duggan G. G. as well as dictionary definitions, statement fashion design can be defined as a work or fashion shows containing a message of a designer who is free from a particular trend or consumerism in various social issues. Statement fashion designers give opposing messages on social issues through their fashion collections. As a result, research shows that contemporary statement fashion designers are expressing themes of a fashion systems, fetishism, body image, collision, environment, as well as the socially disadvantaged by appropriation, reuse, slogan, metaphorical pattern and performance. Satire, awakening, challenge and support can be derived from the inner meaning of contemporary statement fashion design. In terms of the theme, method of expression and inner meaning, this study showed that KYE collection of the designer Kathleen Kye expresses critical awareness on the modern society. Research findings reveal that KYE collection include the following themes: long-term youth unemployment, conflict collision in war or on the Internet, fetishism by youth in a get-rich-quick fever, environmental issue causing destruction of an ecosystem by decrease in bee population, school violence and the socially disadvantaged related to alienated immigrants. Also, as a method of expression themes, such as metaphorical patterns, were used. The patterns used images including a skeleton, gun, heart, rope, plaster, homeless box, bee, honeycomb, chain and a slot machine. On the other hand, the inner meaning of statement in KYE collection showed satire on social issues, awakening on social issues unrecognized by the masses, and support for the socially disadvantaged.
