Cytologic examination of the body cavity fluid is very important because the specimens represent a significant percentage of nongynecologic samples and this cytologic examination may be the first, best or only chance for making the diagnosis of an underlying malignancy. The purposes of body cavity fluid examination are to correctly identify cancer cells and if possible, to identify the tumor types and primary sites when presented with unknown primary tumor sites. The most important basic differential diagnosis is that of benign and reactive disease vs malignant disease. Reactive mesothelial cells are a consistent population in body cavity fluid, and these are the most versatile cells in the body. Due to the specific environment of the body cavity, the exfoliated reactive mesothelial cells may show significant morphologic overlap with the morphology of cancer cells. With a focus on the differential points between reactive mesothelial cells and metastatic adenocarcinoma cells, the practical diagnostic approaches, the diagnostic clues and the pitfalls to achieve a correct diagnosis are presented in this review.
This study examined the changes in body temperature through conductive heat applied to the body and clarified the influences of body fluid on the thermal effects. Body fluid was measured using the Segmental Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis method. The subjects consisted of 13 men and 14 women. TBW was 37.56 (4.35 L for men and 29.93 (3.12 L for women, with the former being significantly (p<0.01) higher. The amount of body fluid in the right and left legs was 6.46 (0.83 L and 6.39 (0.86 L for men and 4.78 (0.49 L and 4.78 (0.49 L for women, respectively, with men's values being significantly (p<0.01) higher than women's on both the right and left sides. The maximal change in the surface temperature was 33.93 (0.61(C at the start of a warm bath to 3407 (0.61(C after 14 min for men. In contrast, the maximal change was 33.38 (0.99(C at the start to 33.73 (0.86(C after 18 min for women. For the other sites, the maximal temperature in Depths 1 and 2 was attained earlier for men than for women. The decrease in body temperature after the end of warming was more remarkable for men. Men had fluid with a higher conductivity than women, indicating influences of body fluid on the changes in body temperature. There were few changes in body composition with a partial bath having a crossed effect, indicating that this is a safe therapeutic method for elderly people.
The objective of this study was to identify a follicular fluid ingredient inhibiting the cumulus oocyte complex (COC) expansion. Thus, follicular fluid or liquid chromatographic fractions of follicular fluid was supplemented in COC culture medium. And COCs were incubated for 48 hours to investigate about cumulus expansion and also the first polar body extrusion. The results obtained were as follows; 1. The fluid of medium follicle significantly inhibited the COC expansion. 2. The fluid of large follicle inhibited the COC expansion. 3. Follicular fluid showed six major fractions at retention volumes (RVs) 1.83, 1.91, 2.15, 2.34, 2.53 and 2.74 ml after separation with Superose 12 column. Of the major fractions, fractions RV2.15, RV2.34, RV2.53 and RV2.74 inhibited both COC expansion and polar body extrusion. Especially, fractions of RV2.15 and RV2.53 significantly inhibited COC expansion, oocyte denudation and polar body extrusion. In conclusion, porcine follicular fluid contained a COC expansion inhibiting ingredient (CEI) that may be contained largely in fractions RV2.15 and RV2.53. And CEI may inhibit oocyte maturation by inhibition of oocyte denudation and extrusion of the first polar body.
We evaluated the availability of toluidine blue stain in body fluids, such as peritoneal and pleural fluid and urine. Nine hundreds specimens, i.e., 400 pleural and 400 peritoneal fluids and 100 urine samples, respectively, from Jan. 1995 to May 1996 were included. We obtained the result of high sensitivity and high specificity. In toluidine blue stained body fluid in comparison with Papanicolaou stained result. Additionally, we found the diagnostically important crystals in chylothorax and some urine samples, which can not be seen in routine Papanicolaou stain. We thought the toluidine blue stain in body fluid is one of very useful diagnostic methods.

If we want to analyze the motion of a body in fluid, we should use rigid-body dynamics and fluid dynamics together. Even if the rigid-body and fluid dynamics are each self-consistent, there arises the problem of self-similar structure in the equation of motion when the two dynamics are coupled with each other. When the added mass is greater than the mass of a body, the calculated motion is divergent because of its self-similar structure. This study showed that the above problem is an inherent problem. This problem of self-similar structure may arise in the equation of motion in which the fluid dynamic forces are treated as external forces on the right hand side of the equation. A reconfiguration technique for the equation of motion using pseudo-added-mass was proposed to resolve the self-similar structure problem; specifically for the case when the fluid force is expressed by integration of the fluid pressure.

Objectives: The purpose of this study was to investigate the status of exposure to blood and body fluid and factors affecting on blood and body fluid exposure of nursing students including knowledge, performance regarding standard precautions. Methods: 280 nursing students in D-city and S-city participated in this study. Data collection was conducted from January to March 2012. Students' knowledge and performance on standard precautions of infection control in hospitals were measured using the measurement developed by Hong(2010). Data analysis was performed using descriptive statistics, t-test, one way-ANOVA, ${\chi}^2-test$, Pearson correlation coeficient, logistic regression by the SPSS WIN 18.0 program. Results: 58.6 percent of subjects experienced a exposure to blood and body fluid. The level of nursing students' knowledge level regarding standard precautions was $22.44{\pm}2.11$ and performance level was $4.31{\pm}0.50$. The factors affecting on blood and body fluid exposure of nursing students were knowledge level and education type about infection control. Conclusions: Based on the findings of this study, to decrease the exposure to blood and body fluid of nursing students, a proper education need to be stressed to improve nursing students' infection control knowledge and awareness.
In "Sanghanlon(傷寒論)", there are several articles to explain about Oryeongsan's syndrome. Most important articles of them are No. 72 and No. 75. Oryeongsan is explained by many doctors as a prescription to control exterior and interior, because they considered that symptoms of 72 and 75 articles were caused by exterior and interior's syndrome. Accordingly, they explained that RAMULUS CINNAMOMI(桂枝) and warm water remove exterior pathogens, and PORIA(茯笭) and others remove interior fluid retention. But considering the origin of a fluid retention, RAMULUS CINNAMOMI's effects are rather activating Yang(通陽) and warming Yang(溫陽) than removing exterior pathogens. The fluid retention is cauesd by insufficiency of Yang energy, because body fluid's spreading depends on Ynag energy. RAMULUS CINNAMOMI's effects of activating Yang and warming Yang improve the fluid retention and spread body fluid to the whole body. Some doctors use CORTEX CINNAMOMI(肉桂) instead of RAMULUS CINNAMOMI, because CORTEX CINNAMOMI's effects of activating Yang and warming Yang are better than RAMULUS CINNAMOMI's. There are many opinions about what is the main symptom of Oryeongsan's syndrome, but the difficulty in urination is understood by most doctors as the main symptom of Oryeongsan's syndrome. From the viewpoint of that, they understand that Oryeongsan's main effect is the induce diuresis. But the induce diuresis does not only mean a urination. The induce diuresis must be understood as the removing fluid retention by sweat and urine through the spreading body fluid.
The fluid-structure interaction of a towed body is simulated using a developed code, which is based on the flux-difference splitting scheme on the hybrid Cartesian/immersed boundary method. To improve the stability in the coupling between the fluid and structure domains, a scheme is used, in which the effects of structure deformation are treated implicitly. The developed code is validated for the fluid-structure interaction problem through comparisons with other results on the vortex-induced vibration of elastically mounted cylinders. To simulate behavior of a towed body, an asymmetric tension modelling for a towing cable is suggested. In the suggested model, the tension is proportional to the elongation of the cable, but the cable has no effect on the body motion whenever the distance between the endpoints of the cable is smaller than the original length of the cable. The fluid-structure interactions of a towed body are simulated on the basis of different parameters of the towing cables. It is observed that the suggested tension model predicts the snapping for a shorter towing cable, which is in accordance with the reported results.
Fluid-body interaction analysis of floating body with six degree-of-freedom motion is presented. In this study, three-dimensional incompressible Navier-Stokes equations are employed as a governing equation. The numerical method is based on a finite-volume approach on a cartesian grid together with a fractional-step method. To represent the body motion, the immersed boundary method for direct forcing is employed. In order to simulate the coupled six degree-of-freedom motion, Euler's equations based on rigid body dynamics are utilized. To represent the complex body shape, level-set based algorithm is utilized. In order to describe the free surface motion, the volume of fluid method utilizing the tangent of hyperbola for interface capturing scheme is employed. This study showed three different continuums(air, water and body) are simultaneously simulated by newly developed code. To demonstrate the applicability of the current approach, two different problems(dam-breaking with stationary obstacle and water entry) are simulated and all results are validated.

Objectives : Diabetes mellitus is the leading cause for vascular complications such as atherosclerosis. The present study is to investigate whether Doinseunggi-tang (DST) improves diabetic vascular dysfunction in type II diabetes. Methods : The db/db mice were treated with high fat/high cholesterol diet and DST (200 mg/kg/day) for 8 weeks. Results : DST significantly lowered blood glucose and systolic blood pressure. In addition, DST also markedly decreased total plasma cholesterol, triglyceride, and LDL-cholesterol, whereas increased the HDL-cholesterol. Vascular relaxation of aortic rings by acetylcholine or SNP was ameliorated by DST in a dose-dependent manner. Damage of vascular intima and hypertrophic of media was improved by DST. Immunohistological study revealed that DST attenuated the increase of ICAM-1, VCAM-1, and ET-1 expression in thoracic aorta. Conclusions : Taken together, DST suppressed hyperglycemia and diabetic vascular dysfunction in type II db/db mice. The present data suggests that Doinseunggi-tang may be prevent a development of diabetic atherosclerosis.
