열 영상에서의 걸음걸이와 얼굴 특징을 이용한 개인 인식 (Person Recognition Using Gait and Face Features on Thermal Images)

  • Gait recognition has advantage of non-contact type recognition. But It has disadvantage of low recognition rate when the pedestrian silhouette is changed due to bag or coat. In this paper, we proposed new method using combination of gait energy image feature and thermal face image feature. First, we extracted a face image which has optimal focusing value using human body rate and Tenengrad algorithm. Second step, we extracted features from gait energy image and thermal face image using linear discriminant analysis. Third, calculate euclidean distance between train data and test data, and optimize weights using genetic algorithm. Finally, we compute classification using nearest neighbor classification algorithm. So the proposed method shows a better result than the conventional method.

Improved DT Algorithm Based Human Action Features Detection

  • The choice of the motion features influences the result of the human action recognition method directly. Many factors often influence the single feature differently, such as appearance of the human body, environment and video camera. So the accuracy of action recognition is restricted. On the bases of studying the representation and recognition of human actions, and giving fully consideration to the advantages and disadvantages of different features, the Dense Trajectories(DT) algorithm is a very classic algorithm in the field of behavior recognition feature extraction, but there are some defects in the use of optical flow images. In this paper, we will use the improved Dense Trajectories(iDT) algorithm to optimize and extract the optical flow features in the movement of human action, then we will combined with Support Vector Machine methods to identify human behavior, and use the image in the KTH database for training and testing.

  • Manual grading and sorting of red-ginsengs are inherently unreliable due to its subjective nature. A computerized technique based on optical and geometrical characteristics was studied for the objective quality evalution. Spectral reflectance of three categories of red-ginsengs - "Chunsam", "Chisam", "Yangsam" - were measured and analyzed. Variation of reflectance among parts of a single ginseng was more significant than variation among the quality categories of ginsengs. A PC-based image processing algorithm was developed to extract geometrical features such as length and thickness of body, length and number of roots, position of head and branch point, etc. The algorithm consisted of image segmentation, calculation of Euclidean distance, skeletonization and feature extraction. Performance of the algorithm was evaluated using sample ginseng images and found to be mostly sussessful.

MicroRNA-Gene Association Prediction Method using Deep Learning Models

  • Micro ribonucleic acids (miRNAs) can regulate the protein expression levels of genes in the human body and have recently been reported to be closely related to the cause of disease. Determining the genes related to miRNAs will aid in understanding the mechanisms underlying complex miRNAs. However, the identification of miRNA-related genes through wet experiments (in vivo, traditional methods are time- and cost-consuming). To overcome these problems, recent studies have investigated the prediction of miRNA relevance using deep learning models. This study presents a method for predicting the relationships between miRNAs and genes. First, we reconstruct a negative dataset using the proposed method. We then extracted the feature using an autoencoder, after which the feature vector was concatenated with the original data. Thereafter, the concatenated data were used to train a long short-term memory model. Our model exhibited an area under the curve of 0.9609, outperforming previously reported models trained using the same dataset.

Standards Sizing for Clothing based on Anthropometry Data

  • Objective: The purpose of this study was to examine the various sizing systems and specified anthropometric data as well as the fit issues used today. Background: A standard sizing system for clothes is a system that is developed based on body shape and size classifications method. To develop an efficient sizing system, we have to classify the database from the majority of the samples. Method: The method of this paper deals with the secular trend of height spanning from 1997 to 2010 along with the morphological feature patterns for Koreans. It also investigates the comparison of the growth pattern between male and female and the body shape classification according to the drop values based on the anthropometric data samples of KATS taken from the 2010 surveys in order to develop and define the new guidelines for the size designation systems of clothes. Results: The results are classified with body size and shape categories according to the drop values by age and sex in order to develop the new guidelines for the size designation systems based on these body dimensions from the analyzed anthropometric database. Conclusion: These new guidelines for the size designation system will eliminate the confusion that currently exists among countries and individual apparel designers. Application: The adopted standards could be used to compare the sizing systems worldwide.

척수장애 성인남성의 신체측정치 분석 (Analysis of Body Size of Disabled Men with Spinal Cord Injuries)

  • Today the number of the disabled people with a spinal cord injury is increasing by the acquired factor. The purpose of the study is to furnish basic data for the study of satisfactory clothing construction data by considering the physical variation by the time passed the since the injury. Also the study includes the actual measuring of the disabled men with spinal cord injuries which is compared with the data of the 5th national anthropometric survey of Korea and makes it possible to grasp the distinguished physical feature of the disabled men with the spinal cord injury. As a result, first, the measured data are smaller than those of the 5th national anthropometric survey of Korea in the items of height and length of the upper half of the body related to stature. Second, the measured data are bigger than those of the 5th national anthropometric survey of Korea in the items of breadth, depth and circumference of the upper half of the body related to the exercise. Third, there are differences in the items of depth of the lower half of the body, breadth and circumference in the analysis of the time passed since the injury.

20세기 프랑스 패션과 이탈리아 패션의 비교 연구 (A Comparative Study on the 20th Century French Fashion and Italian Fashion)

  • In this study, to study the aesthetic properties of the Italy fashion, the internal fashion contents are defined according to the cultural characteristics of Italy and based on the definition, the external features are investigated. The cultural characteristic was analyzed based on the reference literatures on the Italy culture. The aesthetical properties of the contemporary Italy fashion can be analyzed as follows: ${\cdot}$ Functionalism is a feature showing the Italian cultural environment where the genuine humanism is retained. It enables the practical designs by applying details and materials that wouldn't put a limit to the movement of the human body. ${\cdot}$ Naturalism focuses on the natural beauty of the human body without any artificial forms or exaggerated ornaments. Natural texture or materials are used to express the human body itself, or to emphasize the natural aesthetic effects flowing with the human body. ${\cdot}$ Localism is the expression of folk spirit affected by the natural environment. It expresses local atmosphere by unique craftsmanship in material, pattern, color and details. Based on this result, the aesthetic properties of the contemporary France fashion, examined through ${\Iceil}$A Cultural Approach to the Aesthetic Characteristic of the 20th Century French Fashion${\rfloor}$ and those of the contemporary Italy fashion are compared.

허리관절을 가지는 4족보행로봇의 지그재그 걸음새 계획 (Discontinuous Zigzag Gait Planning of Quadruped Walking Robot with an Articulated Spine)

  • This paper presents discontinuous zigzag gait analysis for a newly modeled quadruped walking robot with an articulated spine which connects the front and rear parts of the body. An articulated spine walking robot can move easily from side to side, which is an important feature to guarantee a larger gait stability margin than that of a conventional single rigid-body walking robot. First, we suggest a kinematic modeling of an articulated spine robot which has new parameters such as a waist-joint angle, a rotate angle of a front and rear body and describe characteristics of gait using an articulated spine. Next, we compared the difference of walking motion of newly modeled robot with that of a single rigid-body robot and analyzed the gait of an articulated spine robot using new parameters. On the basis of above result, we proposed a best walking motion with maximum stability margin. To show the effectiveness of proposed gait planning by simulation, firstly the fastest walking motion is identified based on the maximum stride, because the longer the stride, the faster the walking speed. Next, the gait stability margin variation of an articulated spine robot is compared according to the allowable waist-joint angle.

패션 일러스트레이션에 표현된 스테레오타입 여성성 (Stereotype Femininity Expressed in Fashion Illustration)

  • This study analyzes the stereotyped femininity with a focus on body codes, which has been continuously expressed in fashion illustrations from the late $19^{th}$ century to the year 2010, and examines the changes in its meaning. Stereotyped femininity was reorganized by the changes in female sex role effected by social changes, as well as by the body discourse and feminism in the late $20^{th}$ century, These socio-cultural backgrounds led to the change in the meaning of stereotyped women expressed in fashion illustrations. The stereotyped women in fashion illustrations are characterized by gender-oriented body, and the typical image of women was reproduced with the marks of poses and looks that feature passiveness and subordination. Then, the gender-oriented body since 1990's shifted to active meaning that positively revealed sexual desire. The space positioned by women is also the symbol of gender. In line with changes over time, the backgrounds in fashion illustrations have changed from private space such as home and nature to public space such as city, which reflects diversification and expansion of space for women. This study has identified the changes in meaning, based on the analysis of the characteristics of stereotyped women expressed in fashion illustrations. Above all, women who were objectified as a subject by dominant discourse have established the concept of active body as an entity. In addition, the symbol of typical femininity is "slim" and "beauty", which reflects the change from the emphasis on childbirth-related femininity to self-control and conquer. On the other hand, the typical features expressed through body have reproduced dichotomous structure, but the emergence of body and background deviated from gender has reorganized the symbolic order of gender.

중년 여성을 위한 마담브랜드 기성복의 재킷 치수체계 분석 (An Analysis of Ready-to-Wear in Madam Brand Sizing System of Jackets for Middlescence Women)

  • The society advance of a development of the science technique and women from the industrialization, women prefered the tailor-made clothes to the convenient ready-made clothes in the aspect to be economic and save time in the clothing habits. After marriage, middle age women change the comparison of their body due to the pregnancy and birth, the body girth of them increases compared with young woman, the winding of the waist comes to be small and they show the feature of body which the vibration thickness and the brachial girth grows bigger. The reason is that the problem on the fitness of the ready-made clothes comes into being. According to this result which analyzes a ready-made clothes body of the jacket-brand which does the middle age woman to the target in research, actual purchasing age appears than the age which most companies do to the target so that it is high, and though the body is divided in KS standard, the measurement distinguished without the body and most companies were producing the jacket. There was many case to select a fitting model Among a designer or within firm employee with the similar body and measurement. It was revealed that high rate of mending relation of a sale jacket of the company. Research about the body of the ready-made clothes is thought by continuing over there.
