합성천연가스의 수소함량 변화에 따른 가스터빈 연소특성 평가 (Effects of Hydrogen in SNG on Gas Turbine Combustion Characteristics)

  • Increasing demand for natural gas and higher natural gas prices in the recent decades have led many people to pursue unconventional methods of natural gas production. POSCO-Gwangyang synthetic natural gas (SNG) project was launched in 2010. As the market price of natural gas goes up, the increase of its price gets more sensitive due to the high cost of transportation and liquefaction. This project can make the SNG economically viable. In parallel with this project, KEPCO (Korea Electric Power Corporation) joined in launching the SNG Quality Standard Bureau along with KOGAS (Korea Gas Corporation), POSCO and so on. KEPCO Research Institute is in charge of SNG fueled gas turbine combustion test. In this research, several combustion tests were conducted to find out the effect of hydrogen contents in SNG on gas turbine combustion. The hydrogen in synthetic natural gas did not affect on gas turbine combustion characteristics which are turbine inlet temperature including pattern factor and emission performance. However, flame stable region in ${\Phi}$-Air flow rate map was shifted to the lean condition due to autocatalytic effect of hydrogen.

  • 영화 <어둔 밤>(심찬양, 2018), <오늘도 평화로운>(백승기, 2019)은 저예산영화라는 측면에서나 키치와 패러디 같은 서브컬처의 요소를 중점적으로 사용한다는 점에서 B급 영화의 성격을 파악하기 적절한 영화라고 할 수 있다. <오늘도 평화로운>과 <어둔 밤>의 B급 정서를 구성하는 가장 중요한 요소는 초현실적 공간 활용과 언어 사용의 자의성이다. 그런 면에서 본다면, <오늘도 평화로운>, <어둔 밤>은 만화의 성격을 차용한 매체의 경계를 넘나드는 속성을 갖고 있는 영화들이다. 영화 감상 동아리 회원들이 영화를 찍는 이야기를 하는 영화 <어둔 밤>은 황당한 이야기 전개에도 불구하고 영화를 찍는 문제에 대해 현실적이고 구체적인 접근을 하고 있다. <오늘도 평화로운>은 주인공 영준이 영화감독의 꿈을 위해 잡역부 일을 하면서 모은 돈으로 노트북을 사려다 사기를 당하고 직접 범죄소굴을 일망타진한다는 내용이다. 결론적으로, <오늘도 평화로운>, <어둔 밤>의 내용과 형식은 코미디 효과를 가중시키지만, 웃음 속에 진로에 대한 고민이나 보이스피싱 피해 등 현실적인 사회 문제를 지적하고 있으며, 영화를 만드는 것이 어떤 의미인지도 성찰하고 있는 영화들이다.

  • 태양열(太陽熱)을 이용(利用)한 silica gel의 활용(活用)에 대(對)한 기초자료(基礎資料)를 얻고자, silica gel을 이용(利用)한 양파의 건조특성(乾燥特性)과, 공기(空氣)의 제습효과(除濕效果)를 구명(究明)하고, 건조제(乾燥劑)로서의 재사용(再使用)을 위(爲)하여 실험(實驗)한바, 그 결과(結果)를 요약(要約)하면 다음과 같다. 1. 외기온도(外氣溫度) $30^{\circ}C$, 상대습도(相對濕度) 55% 내외(內外)에서 포화(飽和)silica gel을 수분함량(水分含量) 8%까지 재생(再生)시키는데 14시간(時間) 소요(所要)되었다. 2. 집열기(集熱器)를 재순환(再循環)시켜 건조(乾燥)한 결과(結果), 노천건조(露天乾燥)보다 1/2정도(程度) 시간(時間)이 단축(短縮)되었다. 3. 실험기간중(實驗期間中) 집열기(集熱器)의 평균효율(平均效率)은 25%였다. 4. 건조실(乾燥室)을 이용(利用)한 송풍건조시(送風乾燥時), 갈변도(褐變度)가 1/2로 감소(減少)되었다.

  • 이동통신 가입자가 증가함으로 인하여 휴대전화로부터 유발되는 전자파 노출 유해성 여부에 대한 논란이 끊임없이 제기되면서 이와 관련한 연구가 국제적으로 활발하게 이루어지고 있다. 휴대전화 사용에 관한 정보로 사용자 본인이 정량적인 전자파 노출량을 직접 알 수 있다면 매우 이상적일 것이다. 그러나 인체에 노출되는 전자파의 양을 직접적으로 측정하는 것은 매우 어렵기 때문에 정확한 노출량을 아는 것은 쉽지 않다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 국내외에서 선행된 연구 결과 및 쉽게 알 수 있는 휴대전화의 모델에 관한 간단한 정보, 사용경향을 이용하여 개인의 휴대전화 전자파의 노출 정도를 제시해 보고자 한다. 휴대전화 사용에 따른 노출 정도를 제시하기 위하여 1일 평균 통화시간, 총 사용기간에 관한 정보와 선행된 연구 결과들을 기반으로 휴대전화 사용시 이격거리와 기울기, 핸즈프리와 안테나의 사용 여부, 휴대전화의 SAR(Specific Absorption Rate), 플립 혹은 폴더형인지 등에 관한 인자들을 이용하였다. 이 인자들을 신경망 회로를 이용하여 노출 정도를 간접적으로 평가하여 사용자에게 제시해 보고자 하였다.

The Reliability of the Transconjunctival Approach for Orbital Exposure: Measurement of Positional Changes in the Lower Eyelid

  • Background: Lower eyelid incisions are widely used for the orbital approach in periorbital trauma and aesthetic surgery. In general, the subciliary approach is known to cause disposition of the lower eyelid by scarring the anterior lamella in some cases. On the other hand, many surgeons believe that a transconjunctival approach usually does not result in such complications and is a reliable method. We measured positional changes in the lower eyelid in blowout fracture repair since entropion is one of the most serious complications of the transconjunctival orbital approach. Methods: To measure the positional changes in the lower eyelids, we analyzed preoperative and postoperative photographs over various time intervals. In the analysis of the photographs, marginal reflex distance 2 ($MRD_2$) and eyelash angle were used as an index of eyelid position. Statistical analyses were performed to identify the significance in the positional changes. All patients underwent orbital reconstruction through a transconjunctival incision by a single plastic surgeon. Results: In 42 blowout fracture patients, there was no statistical significant difference in the MRD2 and eyelash angle. Furthermore, there were no clinical complications, such as infection, hematoma, bleeding, or implant protrusion, during the follow-up periods. Conclusion: The advantages of the transconjunctival approach for orbital access include minimal scarring and a lower risk of eyelid displacement compared with other approaches. Based on these results, we recommend the transconjunctival approach for orbital exposure as a safe and reliable method.

입제 비료살포기의 유채 파종 적용성 분석 (Adaptability Analysis of Granule Fertilizer Applicator for Rapeseed Broadcasting)

  • This study was carried out to test feasibility of a granule fertilizer applicator for rapeseed seeding in paddy fields. The metering plate of a conventional applicator was modified for rapeseed seeding. The modified plate had new three seeding openings with total area of $342mm^2$. Average target discharging rates ranged from 6.3 to 21.0 g/s and correlated with opening areas. Application patterns of the rapeseed seeding showed M-shape. The coefficients of variation of the application showed 70.5% at 0.99 m/s of forwarding speed and 14.3 g/s of a discharge rate, and 77.7% at 1.72 m/s of a forwarding speed and 8.23 g/s of a discharge rate. The coefficients of variation in the direction of transverse of the tractor ranged from 7.3 to 47.7%. In rapeseed seeding tests using the applicator, seed damages rates were less than 15% due to the agitator, the seed hopper and the seeding plate break. Therefore, improvements of the applicator blow heads and seeding equipments were required in order to apply rapeseed efficiently.

경중도 안와 내벽 골절의 수술 시 흉터 최소화를 위한 변형된 직접 W-절개법과 실리콘판을 이용한 재건 (Modified Direct W-incision with Silicone Sheet to Minimize Operation Scar in Reconstruction of Mild to Moderate Symptomatic Medial Orbital Wall Fracture)

  • Background: For reconstruction of the mild to moderate medial orbital wall fractures, various surgical approaches have been used. Prior existing W-shaped incision was a direct local approach through a 3 cm incision on the superior medial orbital area with a titanium mesh implant. In this study, the authors modified W-shaped incision and reconstructed the defect with silastic sheet to improve the result and the postoperative scar. Methods: This study included 20 patients who had mild to moderate size of medial wall defect and therefore relatively suitable for reconstruction with silastic sheets from July, 2009 to December, 2011. A modified W-shaped skin incision approximately 1.2 to 1.5 cm in length was made along the superior medial orbital rim from approximately 1 cm medial to the medial canthus to the lower border of the medial eyebrow. The angles of the limbs of the W ranged from 150 to 160 degrees. Results: By using soft flexible silastic sheet, the authors reduced the incision from 3 to 1.5 cm, and by widening the angle of the W limbs, scars were more effectively hided in the relaxed skin tension line. Scar assessment was done with modified patient and observer scar assessment scale and mean score from patients was 2.08 and mean score from observers was 2.12. Conclusion: Although this method will not be suitable for every case, it can be a consistent method to obtain the surgical goal in treatment of mild to moderate blowout fractures of the medial orbital wall.

초음속 공기 유동장에서의 수소 확산 화염 특성에 대한 연구 (The Characteristics of Unconfined Hydrogen Diffusion Flames in Supersonic Air Flows)

  • Mach 1.8의 동축공기를 갖는 수소 난류 화산 화염의 특성을 이해하는 것이 본 연구의 목적이다. 화염길이와 연료유동의 자취에 대한 직접사진, Acetone PLIF, Mie scattering, 수치해석법을 이용하여 화염의 구조를 분석하였다. 연료의 유속를 고정시켰을 때, 공기의 유속 증가에 따른 변화를 측정하였다. 아음속 화염의 길이는 급격히 감소한 반면, 초음속 화염의 길이는 완만하게 증가하였다. 또한 연료 노즐 립의 두께 변화에 따른 화염의 소염 특성을 관찰하였다. 노즐 립의 두께에 따라 화염 안정성이 증가하였는데 이는 초음속 화염의 안정화를 위한 최소 두께 값이 존재함을 나타낸다. 유동장 구조를 분석한 결과, 연료 제트가 고압영역에 가로 막혀서 축방향 모멘텀을 잃고, 저산란 영역이 만들어지는 것을 확인하였다. 또한, 모멘텀을 잃은 연료가 재순환 영역을 따라 순환하면서 긴 체류시간을 갖기 때문에 예혼합 영역이 만들어 졌음이 밝혀졌다.

소아 안와골절 환자의 임상적 고찰 (Pediatric Orbital Blowout Fracture : A Retrospective Study of 116 Patients)

  • Background and Objectives : Pediatric orbital blowout fractures occur in discreet patterns, in reference to the characteristic developmental anatomy of the facial skeleton at the time of injury. The purpose of this study was to investigate the clinical characteristics, ocular symptom, fracture type and postoperative results of orbital blowout fractures in the pediatric population. Material and Methods : A retrospective study was conducted from January 2009 to June 2015 in 116 patients with orbital floor fractures ; all less than 18 years old. Patients were divided into 3 groups by age : 0 to 6, 7 to 12, and 13 to 18 years of age. The cause of fracture, fracture site and type, preoperative and postoperative ocular symptoms, timing of surgery were reviewed from their records. Results : Medial wall fractures were the most common site in the 0 to 6 years old group, and floor fractures were the most common site in other age groups. However, floor fracture was the most common site of the need for surgery in all age groups. Trapdoor type of fractures occurred more frequently than open door type of fractures in all age groups. Preoperative symptoms did not differ among the 3 age groups. In case of need surgery, frequency of preoperative ocular symptoms increased with age. However, as age group was young, rate of residual postoperative ocular symptoms were increased. Conclusions : The younger patients are more to have trapdoor type fracture and residual postoperative ocular symptom. Earlier surgical intervention more needed for children with entrapment results.

Trigeminal somatosensory evoked potential test as an evaluation tool for infraorbital nerve damage

  • Background: Neurosensory changes are frequently observed in the patients with mid-face fractures, and these symptoms are often caused by infraorbital nerve (ION) damage. Although ION damage is a relatively common phenomenon, there are no established and objective methods to evaluate it. The aim of this study was to test whether trigeminal somatosensory evoked potential (TSEP) could be used as a prognostic predictor of ION damage and TSEP testing was an objective method to evaluate ION injury. Methods: In this prospective TSEP study, 48 patients with unilateral mid-face fracture (only unilateral blow out fracture and unilateral zygomaticomaxillary fracture were included) and potential ION damages were enrolled. Both sides of the face were examined with TSEP and the non-traumatized side of the face was used as control. We calculated the latency difference between the affected and the unaffected sides. Results: Twenty-four patients recovered within 3 months, and 21 patients took more than 3 months to recover. The average latency difference between the affected side and unaffected side was 1.4 and 4.1 ms for the group that recovered within 3 months and the group that recovered after 3 months, respectively. Conclusion: Patients who suffered ION damage showed prolonged latency when examined using the TSEP test. TSEP is an effective tool for evaluation of nerve injury and predicting the recovery of patients with ION damage.
