The Relation of CLR and Blocking Probability for CBR Traffic in the Wireless ATM Access Network

  • In this paper it is focused on the relation between CLR (Cell Loss Ratio) and blocking probability, GoS(Grade of Services) parameters in the wireless ATM (Asynchronous Transfer Mode) access network which consists of access node and wireless channel. Traffic model of wireless ATM access network is based on the cell scale, burst scale and call connection level. The CLR equation due to buffer overflow for wireless access node is derived for CBR (Constant Bit Rate) traffic. The CLR equation due to random bit errors and burst errors for wireless channel is derived. Using the CLR equation for both access node and wireless channel, the CLR equation of wireless ATM access network is derived. The relation between access network CLR and blocking probability is analyzed for CBR traffic.

  • In this paper it is focused on the relation between CLR(Cell Loss Ratio) and blocking probability in the wireless ATM access transport. Traffic model of wireless ATH access transport is based on the cell scale, burst scale and call connection level. The CLR due to buffer overflow for wireless access node is derived for VBR traffic. The CLR due to transmission errors for wireless channel is derived. Using the CLR for both access node and wireless channel: the CLR of wireless ATM access transport is derived. The relation between CLR and blocking probability is analyzed for VBR traffic to evaluate performance of wireless ATM access transport.

Analysis of the performances of random access channels in multi-service multi-user OFDMA systems according to resource management schemes (다중 서비스 다중 사용자 OFDMA 시스템에서의 자원할당방식에 따른 임의접근 채널 성능 분석)

  • In the paper, we analyze the performances of random access channels in multi-service multi-user OFDMA systems. The resource of the random access channels in OFDMA systems is the nubmer of available sub-channels and PN-codes. For given available sub-channels and PN-codes. we analyze the performances of the random access channels of OFDMA systems according to three resource allocation methods (resource full sharing, resource partial sharing, resource partition) in tenus of the access success probability, the blocking probability, the access delay and the throughput of each service class. Further, we find the feasible region of the access probability of each service class in which the allowable minimum access success probability, the allowable maximum blocking probability and the allowable maximum access delay are satisfied. The results also can be utilized to find proper region of the access probabilities of each service class for differentiated quality of service(QoS)s, and for the system operations.

  • As IPv4 addresses are exhausting, the use of IPv6 addresses is increasing. IPv6 environment provides address auto-configuration function. If addresses are allocated to each host automatically, network management system has difficulty in inspecting every IP of all devices and keeping the relevant informations. Also, as IP addresses are configured automatically, problems such as malicious users accessing network devices with no restriction can occur. To solve these problems, managing and blocking of malicious user is necessary. In this paper, we suggest agent system for searching of host computer and blocking network access which manages and protects the major network resources efficiently by searching host and blocking unauthorized host access to network in IPv6 environment. According to the test results of function of this agent system in IPv6 environment, we have checked that this system performs searching and blocking function normally.

  • In this paper, I develop a simple dynamic resource allocation algorithm that reduces the call blocking rate by improving the resource utilization of the WCDMA (Wideband Code Division Multiple Access) systems under multimedia service environment. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm significantly reduces the blocking rate of high speed multimedia calls. The algorithm developed in this paper is currently working in the commercial WCDMA IMT-2000 system.

  • In this paper, we proposed the channel assignment scheme for the CDMA(Code Division Multiple Access) cellular system using power allocation concept. Also, the performance of the proposed scheme was analyzed and it was compared with the channel assignment scheme using the fixed power allocation method in the CDMA cellular system. The proposed scheme allocates the power adaptively in according to the traffic loads and the traffic distribution pattern of neighbor cells in the forward link. We found that total call blocking probability (Pr) is more dependent on blocking probability($P_B$) than outage probability (Po) under physical number of channels ($C_{th}$)=30. Pr(Call Blocking Probability) is dependent on $P_B$(Blocking Probability) and Po(Outage Probability) at the same ratio under $C_{th}$=32, in which case P$P_{TA}$(blocking probability for the adaptive power allocation) is greater than $P_{TF}$(blocking probability for the fixed power allocation) about 6%.

  • IBM developed the MPI-IO, we call it MPI-2, on the General Parallel File System. We designed and implemented various Matrix Multiplication Benchmarks to evaluate its performances. The MPI-IO on the General Parallel File System shows four kinds of data access methods : the non-collective and blocking, the collective and blocking, the non-collective and non-blocking, and the split collective operation. In this paper, we propose benchmarks to measure the IO time and the computation time for the data access methods. We describe not only its implementation but also the performance evaluation results.

  • This paper analyzes a blocking that is due to shared resource in multiprocessor system. A proposed analysis for shared resource suggests a scalable and amendable scheduling method about task allocation. An equation of shared resource blocking is proposed by a throughput at common bus and a ratio of throughput during time period, it is included a parameter of tasks scheduling. Using this equation, a new guideline for task allocation of multiprocessor is presented. Finally, in proposed system a model simulations for the proposed blocking model is given by a deterministic ratio of shared resource.
