We investigate the influence of the confinement on the mesophase formation of diblock copolymer caged in a cylindrical pore in which the surface of the pore preferentially attracts one of the blocks. Using cell dynamics simulation, we construct phase maps as a function of the composition of diblock copolymer (f) and the pore diameter (D) relative to the period at bulk ($L_{o}$). Depending on f and $D/L_{o}$, we observe a variety of confinement-induced mesophases ranging from a simple dartboard-like structure to more complicated structures involving various forms of helices or doughnuts.

Organic/organic and organic/inorganic multilayer films composed of organic polyelectrolytes (PE) and inorganic nanoparticles/platelets were prepared from the layer-by-layer (LbL) deposition using both spinning and dipping. The difference in both LbL methods is quantitatively compared in terms of internal layer ordering and physical properties of the multilayered films. Additionally, we suggest that the patterned multilayer films can be easily prepared by the combination of the spin SA and the lift-off method. Freestanding films were also prepared with the LbL deposition on low energy substrates, which allows the detailed analysis of composition within the films. Other LbL thin films prepared with block copolymer micelles will be discussed.

It has been known that acid-resistant concretes on the liquid glass basis have high porosity (up to 18${\sim}$20%), low strength and insufficient water resistance. Therefore they can not be used as materials for load-bearing structural elements. Significant increasing of silicate matrix strength and density was carried out by incorporation of special liquid organic alkali-soluble silicate additives, which block of superficial pores and reduces concrete shrinkage deformation. It was demonstrated that introduction of tetrafurfuryloxisilane additive sharply increases strength, durability and shock resistance of silicate polymer concrete in aggressive media. This effect is attributable to hardening of contacts between silicate binder gel globes and modification of alkaline component owing to "inoculation" of the furan radical. The optimal concrete composition with the increased strength, chemical resistance in the aggressive environments, density and crack resistance was obtained.
In mechanical design, design process is mainly composed of design, explanation and evaluation. In this paper, Using Genetic Algorithms (GA), Evolutionary computation is introduced as new design process. This method promote the efficiency and power of design. Due to the known characteristics of the stage, the approach basically involves a synthetic design method with the composition of building blocks representing the elements of mechanical objects. In order for the building blocks to be more suitable for representation and evolution of mechanical structures, Elementary Cell Blocks (ECBs) are introduced as new building blocks. In this paper, we have demonstrated the implementation of the approach with the design of gear systems.
The subway station platform is designed in high platform for quick getting in/out which is against ordinary train platform. Out of 370 Metropolitan subway station platforms, subway stations which have cured platform are about 38%. In these cases, as the distance between subway and platform would become longer, handicapped people's wheelchairs, baby carriers and old and feeble people can feel uncomfortable when they are getting in and out Also, passengers often fall into track because of the height difference between high platform and track. And if passengers go down on track to pick up something fallen, they sometime fail to climb up and happen to hit against subway. To solve out these kind of inconveniences and prevent accidents, we have developed subway station high platform safety system and finished tests. This safety system is consisted of safety block, screened door and safety wall. This study explained the composition and function of this system and presented the test result to identify its performance.

Powertrain simulation is important far the analysis of a vehicle performance. Automotive powertrain has been considered as the unified system and should be remodeled, whenever a powertrain system is changed. In this study, a new method is proposed far the synthetic modeling for the automotive powertrain. Components are separated from the powertrain system and constructed the matrix through dynamic relationships. The dynamic equation of the total powertrain system can be driven from the combination of each component. In order to combine each component, the superposition method is modified for the powertrain composition.

One of main issues of the FRP-concrete composite member is shear connection between FRP and concrete in order to secure composite behavior of FRP and concrete. To solve this problem, perfobond rib FRP shear connector is introduced for the mechanical shear connection. In this study, experimental study was carried out on the perfobond rib FRP shear connectors in order to develop the effective details of perfobond rib FRP shear connectors. Pull-out test specimens were manufactured with FRP plate with holes embedded in concrete block. Main parameters considered in this study were diameter of holes, ratio of spacing between the centres of holes to the diameter of holes, and thickness of FRP plates. Test results are discussed according to above parameters compared with other empirical expressions for steel perfobond rib connector.
Cell attachment and proliferation on the polymer films of triblock copolymer(ester-ether)s comprising po1y (L-1actide) (PLLA) and poly (oxyethylene-co-oxypropylene)(PN) were investigated using 3T3 fibroblasts. It was found that on the tissue culture polystyrene(TCPS) and the PLLA control film the cells could spread well while on the copolymer films the cells showed a rounded morphology without spreading and proliferated weakly. Especially, little cells proliferated on the films of copolymer having a LN composition of 20 wt%. While the water absorption of the copolymer films increased with increasing PN content, the contact angle against water of copolymer films immersed in aqueous medium was almost identical, being slightly lower than that of the PLLA film. These properties were compatible with the results of cell attachment. The in vitro hydrolysis of the films of triblock and multiblock type copolymers was faster with increasing PN content. The increased hydrolyzability, the flexibility and the decreased cell attachment suggested that these copolymers may have high potential as biodegradable materials for medical use.
Thermotropic block copolyester(TLCP-b-PBN) based on poly(tetramethylene 2,6-(naphthaloyldioxy)dibenzoates)(TLCP) and poly(butylene 2,6-naphthalate)(PBN) was synthesized by solution polycondensation and melt-blended with poly(ethylene 2,6-naphthalate)(PEN) for in-situ composites. The TLCP domains showed nematic behavior in melt. The composition of block copolymer was determined from $^1H-NMR$ spectroscopy. The DSC thermogram of block copolymer revealed the presence of two major melting transitions, corresponding to the separete melting of PBN and TLCP domains. The glass transition temperature(Tg) of the PEN in the blends decreased with increasing the content of TLCP-b-PBN and the TLCP-b-PBN acted as a nucleating agent for the matrix polymers. In the 20% TLCP-b-PBN blend, well oriented TLCP fibriles were observed at temperature above the melting point of the PEN by optical microscopy. By scanning electron micrographs of cryogenically fractured surfaces of extruded blends, the TLCp domains were found to be finely and uniformely dispersed in 0.15 to $0.2{\mu}m$ size. Interfacial adhesion between the TLCP and matrix polymer was seemed to be good. Under certain condition TLCP formed a fiver structure in the PEN matrix, with thin oriented TLCP fibril in the skin region and spherical TLCP domains in the core.
Mt. Mudeung is located in Gwangju city, Damyang-Gun, Hwasun-Gun and its round form give us the mood of soft and rich. Its location is $126^{\circ}06'-127^{\circ}01'E$ and $35^{\circ}06'-35^{\circ}10'N$ and its highest peak is Cheonwang-bong with the height of 1,187 m. The Gwangju city is located in the West of Mt. Mudeng and the mountain range with a small basin in its East. The pavilion such as the Soswaewon, Songganjeong, Sigyongjeong are distributed along the stream in the north of Mt. Mudeung. The mountain is formed from the volcanic activity, Gwangju cauldron during the Cretaceous. The top part of Mt. Mudeung is composed of dark gray quartz-andesite and its K-Ar whole rock age is $48.1{\pm}1.7Ma$. The composition of the north area, where the Wonhyosa temple is located, is micrographic granite, whereas the composition of south area is rhyolite mainly. The main ridge of Mt. Mudeung runs from North, starting from the Bukbong, to south, passing Cheonwangbong, Jangbuljae and ending Anyangsan. Geologic feature of the mountain includes volcanic landform, mountaineous landform, and stream landform. The Seosukdae, Ipseokdae, Gyubongam, which are main ridges and formed from volcanic activity, are composed of mainly columnar joint. Saeinbong and Majipbong in the south-west are composed of mainly cliff and dome. The typical erosion landform of the mountain has three different types of the weathering-cave, each of which reflect the property of the original rock. Four different area of wide block stream, they makes the geological feature of spring-water, though its scale is small compared to that of water fall.
