Design of a Block Logistics Operating System in Shipbuilding Industry Based on Axiomatic Design (공리적 설계를 통한 조선 산업에서의 블록 물류 운영 시스템 설계)

  • We deal with the design of the effective block logistics operating system in shipyard. The block logistics operation is one of the critical managerial problems in shipbuilding. The block logistics operation in shipyard consists of storage operation for temporary storage in the limited storage area and transfer equipment operation of blocks from the given storage area to next process according to the block production schedule. We propose a design method of block logistics operating system based on the axiomatic design and IDEF0 method. As a result of axiomatic design, system functions are determined regarding implementation sequence. We validated the proposed design by implementation of a block logistics operating system for a large scale shipyard.

  • In this study, the shaking table tests of block systems on the rigid base have been performed to identify the seismic response and the dynamic behavior of the piled multi-block systems. To understand the characteristics of seismic response of piled multi-block systems, it is necessary to understand the dynamic behavior of single block system. Therefore, the skating table test of the single block system has been performed first. Moreover, by performing the shaking table tests of multi-block systems, the characteristics of dynamic behavior of piled multi-block systems have been analyzed. Also in this study, the distinct element method(DEM) has been used to analyze the nonlinear behavior of the piled multi-block systems. The results of the shaking table tests show that the response of the multi-block systems is very complicated. But by using DEM, the behavior of piled multi-block systems has been predicted and described well.

  • Power Car PC1 and PC2 of Korean high speed train have a auxiliary block which consists of two PWM converter respectively. If a auxiliary block happens a critical failure, the other supplies power to full load of train. In this case, a stability of auxiliary block reduces by a increasing load. For increasing a stability of auxiliary block and train system, a auxiliary block consists of two group four PWM converter which operates simultaneously. If a group of a auxiliary block happens a critical failure, the other supplies power to load of a auxiliary block. This paper describes a method for simultaneous movement of auxiliary block which consists of two group four PWM converter.

  • Recently, The flexible moving block system in train operation has been introduced to the worldwide rail transportation markets. This paper is a comparative study of the conventional fixed block systems effects and the flexible moving block system on train operating time saving. Based on the literature review, the new algorithm is developed. It is to calculate the optimum headway time of the train. The proposed algorithm can overcome some of the existing algorithm problems, such as the limits of the data and unaware of the rail characteristic. The total travel time saving effect has been analyzed by applying the skip stop scheduling system to the each block system. The results of this study indicated that the total travel time is approximately 40% decreased and the schedule velocity is approximately 24% improved when the moving block system is applied. The results of this study could be used as a theoretical basis for the selection of rail signal system in Seoul's subway number 2 line.

  • Piled multi-block system has been frequently adopted in the historic structures or monuments of cultural heritage. It is well known that such a structural system is very vulnerable to the earthquake shaking. If the structure is of slender type, then it may experience overturning at very low level intensity of ground shaking. One of the methods used to protect such structures from earthquake is seismic isolation system. But the behavior of multi-block systems mounted on the isolated basis is not well understood yet. In this paper we investigate the dynamic behavior of single slender rigid block mounted on the three different isolation systems, i.e., P-F system, FPS and LRB system. Sliding at the isolation interface of P-F system and FPS is formulated based on Coulomb friction. The mounted single block is assumed undergoing rocking or sticking only. Impacting of a single block is described using distinct element method (DEM). Free vibrations due to a prescribed initial conditions are studied. Responses to the harmonic excitation and earthquake motions are calculated

  • In this paper, we present the implementation method of Dynamic Matrix Control(DMC) block for use with a Rapid Control Prototyping(RCP) system and consider the speed control of a DC motor using the developed DMC block. Firstly, we briefly introduce a lab-built RCP system. Secondly, we present a method for implementing a DMC block using C-language, which enables the DMC algorithm to be represented in a library block that can be used in a Simulink environment. Finally, we use the developed DMC block for the speed control of a DC motor, through which we show that the DMC-based control system can be easily implemented and applied to the real-time control of systems with relatively fast dynamics.

Block Chain System can be a key point in Fourth Industrial Revolution such as AI, Big Data, IOT and also can be used as a tools of smart contract or smart payment systems in International Trade. If banking regulation is to be liberalized FinTech would be more activated in Korea and various attempts would be available especially smart payment in business. There are so many levels to be achieved from the time of contract to the time of clearance. We cannot expect speed and range of IT advancement and international trade, Block Chain system will challenge the traditional banking process. First, Block Chain Payment system can be used in P2P, B2B transaction and also T/T in small business. Second, Bit Coin transaction can be available within the parties without the Trusted Third Party. Third, By using of Block Chain system Traditional International Trade process can be altered.

  • Linux environment that is commonly used at embedded systems, supports various file systems as Ext2, FAT, NTFS, ets. The file system that is equiped on the embedded system is mostly implemented on mini hard disk or flash memory. The types of the file system of the system make an effect on the performance of a application programs. The factors of file system performance on a same media are block allocation and block free time. On these factors, block free time is not so different according to the type of file systems. This thesis performs the performance benchmark of a Ext2, FAT and NTFS file systems about block allocation performance. As the result, it is discussed that what file system is better at which case.

  • In this paper, we introduce an ADSRC(hdvanced DSRC) OFDM packet communication system which has been developed by ETRI. The ADSRC system is targeted to provide high terminal mobility, high data rate and seamless service in roadside environment for mobile office services. We discuss the requirements of the ADSRC communication system for mobile office services, and the system design specification to meet them with regard to air interface. The ADSRC packet communication systems consist of the MAC processor block, the OFDM packet modem block and the RF block. The MAC processor block handles medium access control and the test. The OFDM packet modem transmits data packets at up to 24Mbps adaptively and recovers the data from RF block. We describe the ADSRC packet communication system architecture and the ADSRC system protocol.

  • In order to scheme the optimal assumption that satisfies the travel demand, it should be review the elements that affect on determining the headway, which are signal systems, line shape, vehicle(Light Rail Transit) performance, and so on. When applying the conventional signal systems, including Fixed Block System and Moving Block System, It was confirmed whether or not satisfy the requirements of target line with the way of a numerical formula reviewing and Train performance Simulation on the main line, station, depot, and so forth. Therefore, it should be used as references that decide target line and each sub-system after identifying the compliances for Minimum Headway to Moving Block System.
