Using atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP), polystyrene macroinitiators and polystyrene-b-poly(t-butyl acrylate) (PS-b-P(tBA) block copolymers were synthesized by CuBr/PMDETA catalyst system in solution. After hydrolysis, polystyrene-b-poly(acrylic acid), amphiphilic block copolymers, were formed. Subsequent neutralization of polyacid block led to the block ionomers. The molecular weight of the synthesized PS-b-P(tBA) block copolymers was easily-controlled to 5000-10000 and their distributions were less than 1.2. The chemical structures of the synthesized block copolymers were characterized by $^1$H-NMR and FT-IR. In the DSC thermograms, $T_g$ appeared in the vicinity of 100 $^{\circ}C$ because of higher styrene content. In addition, the phase separation of the block ionomers was observed by TEM.
Background: Circumcision is a painful intervention frequently performed in pediatric surgery. We aim to compare the efficacy of caudal block versus dorsal penile block (DPNB) under general anesthesia for children undergoing circumcision. Methods: This study was performed between July 1, 2009 and October 16, 2009. Fifty male children American Society of Anesthesiolgists physical status classification I, aged between 3 and 12 were included in this randomized, prospective, comparative study. Anesthetic techniques were standardized for all children. Patients were randomized into 2 groups. Using 0.25% 0.5 ml/kg levobupivacain, we performed DPNB for Group 1 and caudal block for Group 2. Postoperative analgesia was evaluated for six hours with the Flacc Pain Scale for five categories; (F) Face, (L) Legs, (A) Activity, (C) Cry, and (C) Consolability. For every child, supplemental analgesic amounts, times, and probable local or systemic complications were recorded. Results: No significant difference between the groups (P > 0.05) was found in mean age, body weight, anesthesia duration, FLACC pain, and sedation scores (P > 0.05). However, on subsequent measurements, a significant decrease of pain and sedation scores was noted in both the DPNB group and the caudal block group (P < 0.001). No major complication was found when using either technique. Conclusions: DPNB and caudal block provided similar postoperative analgesic effects without major complications for children under general anesthesia.

There are hundreds of ship blocks which are under the block assembly, painting, and outfitting assembly works in the pre-erection shops of shipyard. Generally, each block is planned to be processed in a pre-erection shop according to the block type by the long-term production-scheduling before six months. However, many blocks can't be processed in the planned time and the planned shop since the before and after block-processing changes or delays the planned sequential works in pre-erection shops. Therefore, it is essential to monitor the current location of each block and work in process to cope with the changed situation of pre-erection shops. Present study integrates PDA, GPS, and CDMA not only to chase the location of each block but also to exchange the pre-erection work order and the work report between the production-scheduling server and the production managers in the pre-erection shops. This study shows a prototype for the block tracing and process monitoring in the pre-erection shops.
Background: Although the erector spinae plane block has been used in various truncal surgical procedures, its clinical benefits in patients undergoing spinal surgery remain controversial. The aim of this meta-analysis was to evaluate the clinical benefits of erector spinae plane block in patients undergoing spinal surgery. Methods: We searched the Cochrane Library, PubMed, EMBASE, and China National Knowledge Infrastructure for randomized controlled trials comparing the erector spinae plane block with a nonblocked control for spinal surgery. Results: Twelve studies encompassing 696 subjects were included in our systematic review and meta-analysis. We found that the erector spinae plane block decreased postoperative pain scores and opioid consumption in the postoperative and intraoperative periods. Moreover, it prolonged the time to the first rescue analgesic, reduced the number of patients who required rescue analgesia, and lowered the incidence of postoperative nausea and vomiting. However, it did not exhibit efficacy in decreasing the incidence of urinary retention and itching or shortening the length of hospital stays, or the time to first ambulation. Conclusions: Erector spinae plane block improves analgesic efficacy among patients undergoing spinal surgery compared with nonblocked controls; however, there is insufficient evidence regarding the benefits of erector spinae plane block for rapid recovery.

This study examines the effect of block diversity on the risk of firms listed on the Korean Stock Exchange between 2010 and 2017. To examine the effect of block diversity on corporate risk, we measure block diversity in terms of a single component, portfolio size, by referring to prior literature. This diversity component accounts for the differences in portfolio size across corporate blocks. In line with existing research on corporate risk, we consider several variables to measure corporate risk: volatility, beta, and idiosyncratic risk. The results show a negative relationship between the size of a block shareholder's portfolio and corporate risk. We also show no difference in the effect of block diversity on the corporate risk between KOSPI and KOSDAQ. This implies that the difference in portfolio size among corporate blocks reduces corporate risk. This may be due to the effect of inter-block monitoring activities in the Korean securities market, which benefits from block diversity. This empirical result supports previous studies that predicted that block diversity would have beneficial influences on firm monitoring in general. This study is significant in that it analyzes the relationship between block diversity and firm risk and provides relevant information to business practitioners and investors.

In this paper, we propose a block mapping technique applicable to NAND flash memory. In order to use the NAND flash memory with the operating system and the file system developed on the basis of the hard disk which is mainly used in the general PC field, it is necessary to use the system software known as the FTL (Flash Translation Layer). FTL overcomes the disadvantage of not being able to overwrite data by using the address mapping table and solves the additional features caused by the physical structure of NAND flash memory. In this paper, we propose a new mapping method based on the block mapping method for efficient use of the NAND flash memory. In the case of the proposed technique, the data modification operation is processed by using a blank page in the existing block without using an additional block for the data modification operation, thereby minimizing the block unit deletion operation in the merging operation. Also, the frequency of occurrence of the sequential write request and random write request Accordingly, by optimally adjusting the ratio of pages for recording data in a block and pages for recording data requested for modification, it is possible to optimize sequential writing and random writing by maximizing the utilization of pages in a block.
Mushroom cultivation has gained increased attention in recent years. Currently, only four types of spawn, including sawdust spawn, grain spawn, liquid spawn, and stick spawn, are commonly available for mushroom cultivation. This limited spawn diversity has led to difficulty in selecting suitable inoculum materials in some cultivation. In this study, three small blocks of lignocellulosic agro-wastes and one block of a synthetic matrix were prepared as support for growing Pleurotus ostreatus in liquid medium. Mycelium-adsorbed blocks were then evaluated for their potential as block spawn for fructification. Our results indicated that the edible fungus was adsorbed and abundantly grew internally and externally on loofah sponge and synthetic polyurethane foam (PUF) supports and also has the ability to attach and grow on the surface of sugarcane bagasse and corncob supports. The mycelia of P. ostreatus adhered on corncob exhibited the highest metabolic activity, while those on the PUF showed the least activity. Mycelial extension rates of block spawns made of agro-waste materials were comparable to that of sawdust spawn, but the block spawn of PUF showed a significantly lower rate. No significant differences in cropping time and yield were observed among cultivations between experimental block spawns and sawdust spawns. Moreover, the corncob block spawn maintained its fruiting potential during an examined period of 6-month storage. The developed block spawn could be practically applied in mushroom cultivation.
A wood-plastic composite (WPC) paver block was manufactured using wood chips waste through an extrusion process, and it was intended to be used for paving in basic rest areas. The first stage in this study covered preliminary tests in terms of flexural strength and dimensional swelling to determine the optimal WPC compounding mix condition, by variation of the WPC ingredients. Next, three different paver blocks including the WPC block, a non-porous cement block, and a porous cement block were tested in terms of various material properties in the laboratory. Finally, two outdoor test sections of the proposed paver blocks were prepared to simulate a basic rest area. Test results indicated that the flexural strength of the WPC paver blocks was about 1.6 times greater than that of the tested cement paver blocks. The WPC block pavement was unaffected by water buoyance as well as volume expansion due to swelling. Results from the impact absorbance test and light falling weight deflectometer (LFWD) test clearly showed that the WPC block paving system marginally satisfied the comfortable and safe hardness range from the pedestrians' perspective, while the results demonstrated that it is structurally sound for application as a road paving block.

In view of the problems of insufficient data collection and processing capability of multi-source heterogeneous equipment, and low visibility of equipment status at the ship block construction site. A data collection method for ship block construction equipment based on wireless sensor network (WSN) technology and a data processing method based on edge computing were proposed. Based on the Browser/Server (B/S) architecture and the OneNET platform, an online monitoring system for ship block construction equipment was designed and developed, which realized the visual online monitoring and management of the ship block construction equipment status. Not only that, the feasibility and reliability of the monitoring system were verified by using the intelligent tire frame system as the application object. The research of this project can lay the foundation for the ship block construction equipment management and the ship block intelligent construction, and ultimately improve the quality and efficiency of ship block construction.
I analyzed the structure of a block-chain system and a block-chain-based service system. It is a decentralized book encryption system software technology that does not require a third party to secure trust between the two parties. Block chains are structured in a linked list structure. The block chain manage transaction information by blocking the transaction information, in conjunction with other blocks. As a result, I have discovered structural weaknesses in current block-chain systems and block-chain-based service systems. Once these possible structural problems are resolved, I expect that the block-chain-based service system will make various industrial contributions.
