  • The study studied ways to improve the adjustment of the cadastral reform project after analyzing and evaluating the method of determining the boundaries and the overall status of the adjustment, focusing on cases of complaints in the business district in Sejong City, where the re-investigation project was completed. Measures to improve the adjustment amount of the cadastral reform project were largely divided into boundary adjustment and improvement measures according to the scope of area allowance and institutional improvement. According to an analysis of the status of boundary adjustment in Sejong City, the boundary of the cadastral reform project was being adjusted in various ways, and among them, it was found that it is simple to adjust, to formalize parcels, and that many adjustments are being made centering on resolving blind areas by establishing new roads. When setting such a boundary, it is necessary to establish an efficient and reasonable boundary by actively encouraging sufficient consultation with owners and an adjustment boundary that reflects the personal will of landowners to minimize disputes over the adjustment amount. In terms of improvement measures based on the area limit, it is necessary to accurately record and preserve the results of the cadastral resurvey in numerical data and to ease or exempt the adjustment amount if it is within the area permissible scope of the Spatial Data Management Act when calculating the adjustment amount. Finally, in relation to the adjustment, it was judged that it would be necessary to provide long-term low-interest loans to their own land to landowners, and that it would be necessary to calculate the adjustment through appraisal calculated by third parties fairly and objectively based on value judgment.

  • Purpose: The aim of this study was to compare changes of bite force, occlusal contact area, and dynamic functional occlusion analysis after occlusal stabilization splint therapy during sleep for one month in a patient with bruxism. Materials and Methods: From October 2021 to July 2022, sleep bruxism of 30 patients who visited the Department of Oral Medicine at Yonsei University College of Dentistry Hospital were recruited. The participants were divided into two groups: using an occlusal stabilization splint during sleep (treatment; n = 15) and not using an occlusal stabilization splint (control; n = 15). Before using the occlusal stabilization splint and one month after, bite force, occlusal contact area and dynamic functional occlusion analysis (ratio of left/right bite forces, average bite forces, maximum bite forces, and maximum contact areas during lateral and anterior and posterior mandibular movements) were performed. Results: There was no difference in bite force and occlusal contact area between the treatment group using the occlusal stabilization splint and the control group not using the occlusal stabilization splint during sleep for one month. However, there were significant differences in the average bite force and maximum bite force in the lateral and anterior and posterior mandibular movements and the maximum contact areas in the anterior and posterior mandibular movements. Conclusion: The occlusal stabilization splint is helpful for sleep bruxism patients who lateral and anterior and posterior mandibular movements. In addition, further studies are needed a double-blind study with a large population.

  • This paper proposes energy management directions to discover the factors of energy loss in homes and buildings and to find ways to improve them. We designed a diagnostic content app for everyday life so that not only housing experts but also the general public can use the detachable thermal imaging camera, which is a strong point of popularity and convenience. The diagnostic results using the app were analyzed using Energy Finder, an energy efficiency diagnostic solution. The survey was conducted on the senior center which is in the blind spots and facilities of the energy welfare area. The target of diagnosis was energy efficiency diagnosis by selecting 30 senior centers for over 15 years from 600 locations located in Naju City, Jeollanam-do. The overall diagnosis was good, but it is considered that the place classified as 7th grade needs to be supplemented to improve energy efficiency.

  • We analyzed our experience with orchidopexy for undescended testicle performed during recent 10 years in order to evaluate our results and to determine the most effective treatment of undecended testes. Between 1988 and 1997, we treated 420 undescended tested (314 palpable and 106 nonpalpable) in 356 boys. Medical records were reviewed with respect to age at presentation, the surgical approach, testicular location, testicular volume and the final outcome. The average patient age at presentation was 4.1 years with 40.2 % presenting before age 2 years. Of 106 nonpalpable testes, 23 testes were intra-abdominal, 32 were preperitoneal and 51 were absent. During the first 5 years, we performed orchidopexy through 31 inguinal and 13 midline transabdominal incisions for 44 paitents with nonpalpable testes. In the next 5 years, all 47 patients with nonpalpable were treated through inguinal incisions. For the nonpalpable testes, the inguinal approach with or without intraperitoneal extension was successful in defining the location of testes and blind-ending vessels in all patients. Laparoscopy did not help to avoid surgical exploration in all our patients with nonpalpable tests. Of 339 inguinal and midline tranabdominal orchidopexies without spermatic vessels ligations, 324 testes were placed in the scrotum, 4 in the upper scrotum and 3 in the inguinal area. Eight testes underwent atrophy. Of 13 Fowler-Stephens orchidopexies, 7 were placed in the scrotum and 6 became atrophied. Testicular growths were noticed in most patients who underwent orchidopexies and the colume of pexed testes became as large as the contralateral normal testes by the mean duration of 43.3 months postoperatively. In conclusion, orchidopexies were successful in most cases of cryptochidism in terms of testicular position and growth. However, there were more testicular atrophies in cases where spermatic vessels were ligated. In cases of nonpalpable undescended testes, the inguinal approach with or without intraperitoneal extesion would be recommended.

  • Purpose: This study investigated trends in family nursing intervention studies and evaluated the quality of studies using the RCT design. Methods: This study included a total of 898 abstracts published from 1977 to 2007 in order to describe trends in family nursing intervention studies. Out of 898 studies, 153 RCT studies were selected for quality evaluation. The criteria of Jadad et al. (1996) were employed for the quality evaluation. Results: The number of RCT studies on family nursing interventions increased since 2001. Only 6.8% of the studies were published in the area of nursing. Most of the family interventions (27.1%) focused on individual family members and only 8.2% of the studies provided interventions to family as a whole unit. Nine different modes of family nursing intervention could be categorized, but none of the studies used the double blind design. Few studies utilized protocols for interventions. Only 17.5% of the studies reported the rationale for sample size. The mean score was 1.6 out of 5 according to the criteria of Jadad et al. (1996). Conclusion: Refined definitions and attributes of family nursing intervention modes are needed. Most of the studies did not meet the expectations of RCT. Thus, it is needed to improve the quality of design. More RCT studies should be conducted to provide evidence-based practice of family nursing interventions.

  • Raised or plain block is widely used for the pedestrian's safe passage. The insincere construction, insufficient maintenance and obstacle overlaid on the pavement cause pedestrian's accidents. This paper proposes a method to detect brick path by analyzing the shape pattern and texture feature of brick located in visible distance for a safe passage. A brick appears to a regular type because of its specific shape which repeats with its sized gap and its type varies according to the surrounding environment or use. This paper shows a method which extracts the shape pattern by analyzing single surface polygon and its frequency appearing in road area. The shape pattern is used to detect similar shape regions. Some regions are not detected because extraneous substances or chopped bricks distort the original shape. This problem can be solved by analyzing the texture feature vector. The analyzed vector of the previously detected regions yields the Gaussian distribution. This value in each undetected region is computed and checked whether it's satisfied with Gaussian distribution or not. The satisfied region is detected as the brick path. The experiment was performed with the various type's bricks to recognize so that the results showed as accurate as 95.9% in average.

  • We proposed a blind watermarking for 3D mesh model using the patch CEGIs. The CEGI is the 3D orientation histogram with complex weight whose magnitude is the mesh area and phase is the normal distance of the mesh from the designated origin. In the proposed algorithm we divide the 3D mesh model into the number of patch that determined adaptively to the shape of model and calculate the patch CEGIs. Some cells for embedding the watermark are selected according to the rank of their magnitudes in each of patches after calculating the respective magnitude distributions of CEGI for each patches of a mesh model. Each of the watermark bit is embedded into cells with the same rank in these patch CEGI. Based on the patch center point and the rank table as watermark key, watermark extraction and realignment process are performed without the original mesh. In the rotated model, we perform the realignment process using Euler angle before the watermark extracting. The results of experiment verify that the proposed algorithm is imperceptible and robust against geometrical attacks of cropping, affine transformation and vertex randomization as well as topological attacks of remeshing and mesh simplification.

  • The zygoma is second most commonly vulnerable facial bone in fracture, in number only by nasal fractures. It is difficult to evaluate reduction state intraoperatively, because almost surgeons reduce the fractured zygoma by blind method. We suggest the use of orthopedic C-arm intraoperatively. We use plain radiography, CT to evaluate preoperative state. Gilles approach or intraoral approach were used to reduce the fractured zygomatic arch. The C-arm was positioned at chin area, used to evaluate reduction intraoperatively. We got postoperative image by CT or submento-vertex view. There are variable methods to evaluate reduction intraoperatively: palpation, ultrasonography, CT, plain films. C-arm is considered superior diagnostic tool to other methods. The use of intraoperative C-arm was very efficient, it could bring better results.

  • The present case study highlights the effects of a novel Comprehensive Hand Repetitive Intensive Strengthening Training (CHRIST) on morphological changes and associated upper extremity (UE) muscle strength and motor performance in a child with spastic quadriplegic cerebral palsy (CP). The Child, a 10-year-old girl with spastic quadriplegic CP, was treated with CHRIST for 60 minutes a day, five times a week, for 5 weeks. The CHRIST was designed to improve motor function and strength. Clinical tests including the modified Wolf Test, Jebsen-Taylor Hand Function Test, and Pediatric Motor Activity Log questionnaire were used to determine motor function. Ultrasound imaging was performed to determine the changes in the cross-section area (CSA) of the extensor carpi radialis (ECR) and triceps brachii (TRI). Muscle strength was measured with a dynamometer at pretest, and post-test, and 3-month follow-up. Ultrasound imaging data showed that the CSAs of both ECR and TRI muscles were enhanced as a function of the intervention. These changes were associated with muscle strength and motor performance and their effects remained even at a 3-month follow-up test. Our results suggest that the CHRIST was effective at treating muscle atrophy, weakness and motor dysfunction in a child with spastic quadriplegic CP.
