We develop a parallel cosmological hydrodynamic simulation code designed for the study of formation and evolution of cosmological structures. The gravitational force is calculated using the TreePM method and the hydrodynamics is implemented based on the smoothed particle hydrodynamics. The initial displacement and velocity of simulation particles are calculated according to second-order Lagrangian perturbation theory using the power spectra of dark matter and baryonic matter. The initial background temperature is given by Recfast and the temperature uctuations at the initial particle position are assigned according to the adiabatic model. We use a time-limiter scheme over the individual time steps to capture shock-fronts and to ease the time-step tension between the shock and preshock particles. We also include the astrophysical gas processes of radiative heating/cooling, star formation, metal enrichment, and supernova feedback. We test the code in several standard cases such as one-dimensional Riemann problems, Kelvin-Helmholtz, and Sedov blast wave instability. Star formation on the galactic disk is investigated to check whether the Schmidt-Kennicutt relation is properly recovered. We also study global star formation history at different simulation resolutions and compare them with observations.

A fuel specific detonation wave in a pipe propagates with a predictable wave velocity. This internal detonation wave speed determines the level of flexural wave excitation of pipes and the possibility of resonant response leading to a large displacement. In this paper, we present particular solutions of displacements and the resonance conditions for internally loaded pipe structures. These analytical results are compared to numerical simulations obtained using a hydrocode(multi-material blast wave analysis tool). We expect to identify potential explosion hazards in the general power industries.
Test blasting has been performed with V-cut to investigate the characteristics. Blasting vibrations were measured at two directions, the proceed direction and side direction. Propagation characteristics were determined by regression analysis; square root scaled distance and cube root scaled distance with maximum charge per delay of the blast. Testing result, The cross point was 62m in the allowable vibration velocity of 3mm/sec and 46m In 5mm/sec. Also, vibration level with measuring point was highest and decayed fastest, adapting to cube root scaled distance, for the proceed direction on ground.
Uniform application of agri-chemicals will improve orchard pest management. An air-blast(orchard) sprayer designed for vineyards has been used: however, few research on the uniformity and coverage of the sprays has been reported. Distributions of spray coverage were measured with artificial targets and analyzed to enhance the efficiency of spray application. A structure was built to place water sensitive papers, sampling spray droplets blasted from the orchard sprayer. The sampling cards were collected from five directions at three distances (2.5, 3.0 and 3.5m) for two fan speeds (2,075 and 3,031 rpm), and analyzed using an image analysis system. The distribution of the coverage percent area did not follow the wind velocity pattern. The coverage by the low fan speed was more uniform and higher than that by the higher fan speed. The coverage percent area decreased with an increase of distance. The distribution of droplet density was similar to that of coverage. However, the coverage contribution by smaller droplets became more significant as the distance increased. The upward blasting distance was limited within 3m, but the limit to the ground level was expanded the distance more than 3.5m because of the concentrated droplets.

The water jet impingement cooling with boiling is one of the techniques to remove heat from high heat flux equipments. The configuration of surface roughness is one obvious condition of affecting the performance on heat transfer in nucleate boiling, The present study investigates the water jet impinging single-phase convection and nucleate boiling heat transfer for the effect of surface roughness to enhance the heat transfer in free surface and submerged jet. The distributions of the averaged wall temperature as well as the boiling curves are discussed. Jet velocities are varied from 0.65 to 1.7 m/s. Surface roughness by sand blast and sand paper varies from 0.3 to 2.51 ${\mu}m$ and cavity shapes on surface are semi-circle and v-shape, respectively The results showed that higher velocity of the jet caused the boiling incipience to be delayed more. The incipient boiling and heat transfer increase with increasing surface roughness due to a large number of cavities of uniform size.
Many methods and techniques to reduce ground vibrations are well known. Some of them are to adopt electric milisecond detonators with a sequential blasting machine or an initiating system with an adequate number of delay intervals. The types of electric detonators munufactured in Korea include instantaneous, decisecond and milisecond delays byt numbers of delay intervals are only limite from No.1 to No.20 respectively. It is not sufficient to control accurately milisecond time with these detonators in tunnel excavation. Sequential fire time refers to adding an external time delay to a detonators norminal firing time to obtain sequential initiation and it is determined by sequential timer setting. To reduce the vibration level, sequential blasting machine with decisecond detonatore was adopted. A total of 134 blasting was recorded at various sites. Blast-to-structure distances ranged from 20.3 to 42.0 meter, where charge weight varied from 0.25 to 0.75 kg per delay. The results can be summarized as follow : 1. The effects of sequential blasting machine on the vibration level are discussed. The vibration level by S.B.M. are decreased approximately 14.38~18.05 to compare to level of conventional blasting and cycle time per round can be saved. 2. The empirical equations of particle velocity were obtained in S,B.M. and conventional blastin. $V=K(D/W^{1/3})-n$. where the values for n and k are estimated to be 1.665 to 1.710 and 93.59 to 137 respectively. 3. The growth of cracks due to vibrations are found but the level fall to within allowable value.

We performed numerical analysis of base drag phenomenon, when a projectile with backward step flies into atmosphere at supersonic speed. We compared with other researchers. From our previous studies that were 2-dimensional simulation, we found out from sophisticated simulations that need dense mesh points to compare base pressure and velocity profile after from base with experimental data. Therefore, we focus on high order spatial disceretization over 3rd order with TVD such as MUSCL TVD 3rd, 5th, and WENO 5th order, and Limiters such as minmod, Triad. Moreover, we enforce to flux averaging schemes such as Roe, RoeM, HLLE, AUSMDV. In present, one dimensional result of Euler tests, there are Sod, Lax, Shu-Osher and interacting blast wave problems. AUSMDV as a flux averaging scheme with MUSCL TVD 5th order as spatial resolution is good agreement with exact solutions than other combinations. We are carrying out the same approaches into 3-dimensional base flow only candidate flux schemes that are Roe, AUSMDV. Additionally, turbulence models are used in 3-dimensional flow, one is Menter s SST DES model and another is Sparlat-Allmaras DES/DDES model in Navier-Stokes equations.
Recently, as construction technology improved, concrete structures not only became larger, taller and longer but were able to perform various functions. However, if extreme loads such as impact, blast, and fire are applied to those structures, it would cause severe property damages and human casualties. Especially, the structural responses from extreme loading are totally different than that from quasi-static loading, because large pressure is applied to structures from mass acceleration effect of impact and blast loads. Therefore, the strain rate effect and damage levels should be considered when concrete structure is designed. In this study, the low velocity impact loading test of steel fiber reinforced concrete (SFRC) slabs including 0%~1.5% (by volume) of steel fibers, and strengthened with two types of FRP sheets was performed to develop an impact resistant structural member. From the test results, the maximum impact load, dissipated energy and the number of drop to failure increased, whereas the maximum displacement and support rotation were reduced by strengthening SFRC slab with FRP sheets in tensile zone. The test results showed that the impact resistance of concrete slab can be substantially improved by externally strengthening using FRP sheets. This result can be used in designing of primary facilities exposed to such extreme loads. The dynamic responses of SFRC slab strengthened with FRP sheets under low velocity impact load were also analyzed using LS-DYNA, a finite element analysis program with an explicit time integration scheme. The comparison of test and analytical results showed that they were within 5% of error with respect to maximum displacements.

The cement industry brought very severe environment problems with massive carbon dioxide during its production. To solve this problem, attempts on Alkali-Activated Slag (AAS) concrete that perfectly substitutes industrial by-products such as ground granulated blast furnace slag (GGBFS) for cement are being actively made. AAS concrete is possible to have high strength development at room temperature, however, it is difficult to ensure the working time due to the fast setting time and the loss of workabillity because of the alkali reaction. In this study, the early age properties of alkali activated slag mortar are investigated to obtain the fundamental data for AAS concrete application to structural members. The water-binder ratio (W/B) was fixed at 0.35 and sodium hydroxide and waterglass as alkali activator was used. The compressive strength, the flow and the ultrasonic pulse velocity were measured according to the type of superplasticisers, which were naphthalene(N), lignin(L), melamine(M) and PC(P), up to a maximum of 2 percent by the mass of GGBFS. The results showed that adding melamine type of superplasticizer improved the fluidity of AAS mortar without decreasing the compressive strength, while naphthalene and polycarbonate type of superplasticizer had little effect on the fluidity of AAS mortar.
The paper presented investigates the effects of kaolinite on strength properties of alkali-activated multi-component cement. The binders of this study was blended of ground granulated blast furnace slag (GGBFS), fly ash (FA), silica fume (SF) and kaolinite (KA). In this study, the specimens of combination of 20%~70% GGBFS, 10%~60% FA, 10% SF (constant ratio) and 10%~50% KA binder were used for strength properties tests. The water/binder ratio was 0.5. The binders (GGBFS + FA + SF + KA) was activated by sodium hydroxide (NaOH) and sodium silicate ($Na_2SiO_3$) was 10% by total binder weight (10% NaOH + 10% $Na_2SiO_3$). The research carried out is on the compressive strength, water absorption, ultrasonic pulse velocity (UPV) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). The compressive strength decreased as the contents of KA increase. One of the major reason for this is the low reactivity of KA compared with other raw materials used as precursors such as GGBFS or FA. The presence of remaining KA indicates that the initially used quantity has not fully reacted during hydration. Moreover, the results have indicated that increased of KA contents decreased UPV under all experimental conditions. The drying shrinkage and water absorption increased as the content of KA increase. Test result clearly showed that the strength development of multi-component blended cement were significantly dependent on the content of KA and GGBFS.
