원자력 발전소용 순환수 펌프의 성능해석 (THE PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS OF A CIRCULATING WATER PUMP FOR A NUCLEAR POWER PLANT)

  • The objective of this study is to investigate the suitable design for a domestic Circulating water pump(CWP), which is used in cooling-water intakes for the unit 3 and 4 of Yeonggwang nuclear power plant. All the simulations are performed, using CFD method with a commercial code STAR-CCM+ version 3.02. After modeling a present design of the pump, the flow around the rotating blade was calculated by using quasi-static method and sliding mesh method with the almost same condition as an actual state. Based on fundamental simulations with various depth of sea water, the reference pressure for the boundary condition of the present study was decided. To verify the reliability of the calculation results, the suction flow rate of the data was compared with that of the experimental data. As a result of this comparison, it is confirmed that two results are fairly consistent. For the improvement of the suction flow rate, computational analysis was done by changing a flow channel and blade shapes. It is shown that the suction flow rate of the new pump was improved.

  • The effects of channel area on the performance of regenerative type fuel pump were numerically studied by commercial CFD code (ANSYS CFX-10). To examine the effects of channel area, the shapes of the side channel and blade were simplified. The channel area affected the flow characteristics of the internal recirculation flow between the side channel and the blade groove and also made a difference in the overall performance. These loss mechanism with circulation flow were adopted as a loss coefficient in the performance prediction program. The loss coefficient was newly derived from the results of calculations with different channel area, and compared with the experimental results in the reference paper and used to modify the performance prediction program. The circulation flow characteristics with different channel area, which is related with loss mechanism, were also discussed with the results of 3-dimensional flow calculations.

  • 캐스케이드 실험장치에 한 개의 익형을 설치하여 캐스케이드 실험이 가능한 장치벽면의 설계를 수행하였다. 장치의 폭은 피치의 160% 넓이이다. 이 경우에 실험장치 내에 다수개의 블레이드를 설치하는 경우에 비하여 소형의 장치라도 실험의 정확성이 향상되는 장점이 있지만, 피치방향으로 주기조건을 맞추기가 어렵다. 본 연구에서는 주기조건이 얻어지도록 벽면의 형상설계를 내부유동장의 결과를 바탕으로 기울기기반과 유전자알고리즘의 방식을 사용하여 벽면을 설계하였다. 이를 위하여 목적함수는 캐스케이드 익형의 표면에서 얻어진 마하수를 적용하였으며, 실험장치의 형상 조정이 가능한 14개의 설계변수를 적용하였다. 유전자알고리즘에 의한 최적화 설계방식이 향상된 결과를 보여주었다.

한국산(韓國産) Prunus속(屬) 수(數) 종(種)의 엽밀선(葉蜜腺)의 형태(形態)에 관한 연구(硏究) (Morphological Study on the Leaf Nectar Glands of Some Prunus Species in Korea)

  • 한국산(韓國産) Prunus 4종(種) 품종(品種)에 대한 엽신저부분(葉身底部分)과 엽병상(葉柄上)의 밀선(蜜腺)의 형태적(形態的) 특징(特徵)은 다음과 같았다. 밀선(蜜腺)의 형태(形態)는 평면상(平面上)으로 원형(圓型)과 부정타원형(不定楕圓型)이 있으며 원형(圓型)에는 개벚지나무, 산개벚지나무, 산벚나무와 왕벚나무가 있었고, 부정타원형(不定楕圓型)에는 올벚나무가 있었다. 밀선(蜜腺)의 측면상(側面上) 형태(形態)는 중앙요두형(中央凹頭型)으로 개벚지나무, 산벗나무와 왕벗나무가 있었으며 부정요두형(不定凹頭型)은 올벚나무, 원두형(圓頭型)은 산개벚지나무 1종(種)이 있었다. 특이(特異)하게 올벚나무는 밀선(蜜腺)이 엽신(葉身)에서 융기되어 엽신(葉身)뒷면이 함몰된 형태(形態)를 나타냈다. Prunus속(屬) 및 종(種)은 밀선(蜜腺)의 부위별(部位別) 출현율(出現率)과 형태적(形態的) 특징(特徵)에 의해 검색(檢索)이 자능(可能)하였다.

PSP를 이용한 15° 반와류 홀과 30-7-7 팬형상 홀의 막냉각 효율 비교 연구 (Comparative Study on the Film Cooling Effectiveness of 15° Angled Anti-Vortex Hole and 30-7-7 Fan-Shaped Hole Using PSP Technique)

  • The various film cooling hole shapes have been proposed for effective external cooling of gas turbine blade. In this study, the film cooling effectiveness by three different hole shapes (cylindrical hole, $15^{\circ}$ angle anti-vortex hole, 30-7-7 fan-shaped hole) were examined experimentally. Pressure Sensitive Paint (PSP) technique was used to measure the film cooling effectiveness. The coolant to mainstream density ratio was 1.0 and three blowing ratios of 0.5, 1.0, and 2.0 were considered. Results clearly showed that the effect of hole shape on the distribution of film cooling effectiveness. For the cylindrical hole case, the film cooling effectiveness decreased remarkably as the blowing ratio increased due to the jet lift off. Because of large hole exit area and low coolant momentum, the 30-7-7 fan-shaped hole case showed the highest film cooling effectiveness at all blowing ratio, followed by the anti-vortex hole case.

  • 본 연구에서는 초음속 충동형 터빈의 유동특성을 알아보기 위해 소형 초음속 풍동을 설계하였으며 Single pass Schlieren system을 이용하여 유동을 가시화하였다. 실험은 2차원 초음속 노즐과 익렬을 조합하여 블레이드 앞전 형상과 노즐-익렬 간극에 따라 실시하였다. 실험을 통해 충격파를 포함한 복잡한 유동 형태와 노즐-익렬, 충격파-경계층 상호작용 등을 관찰할 수 있었다.

와류격자법에 의한 프로펠러 성능추정 향상을 위한 제안 (Proposal for Improvement in Prediction of Marine Propeller Performance Using Vortex Lattice Method)

  • Current trends in propeller design have led to the need for extremely complex blade shapes, which place great demands on the accuracy of design and analysis methods. This paper presents a new proposal for improving the prediction of propeller performance with a vortex lattice method using the lifting surface theory. The paper presents a review of the theory and a description of the numerical methods employed. For 8 different propellers, the open water characteristics are calculated and compared with experimental data. The results are in good agreement in the region of a high advanced velocity, but there are differences in the other case. We have corrected the parameters for the trailing wake modeling in this paper, and repeated the calculation. The new calculation results are more in agreement with the experimental data.

  • A mathematical model for investigating the form generation mechanism in the centerless infeed grinding process is described. For 3-D modeling of form generation, contact points are assumed to be on least squares contact lines at the grinding wheel, regulating wheel, and work-rest blade. Using force and deflection analysis, the validity of this assumption is shown. Based on the 2-D simulation model developed in the previous work and the least squares contact line assumption, a 3-D model is presented. To validate this model, simulation results were compared with the experimental works. The experiments and computer simulations were carried out using three types of cylindrical workpiece shapes with varying flat length. The experimental results agree well with the simulation. It can be seen that the effect of flat end propagated to the opposite end through workpiece reorientation.

  • As the advance in technology requires micro mechanical systems, the production methods for micro parts are of a great interest of many researchers. Although MEMS is one of the most popular methods. it can only produce 2D microstructures. The micro manufacturing with micro-mill and micro-lathe has a great potential for producing arbitrary 3D shapes and are being researched. In this paper, a PC based 5-axis milling machine with high precision was developed. To evaluate the machine performance, micro ribs and micro columns were machined. The machining experiments of micro impeller and micro turbine blade confirmed the possibility of micro system manufacturing by using the developed milling machine.
