The use of digital filters in the signal processing field is increasing rapidly with development of the modem industrial society, and generally digital filter is classified into FIR (infinite impulse response) fillers and FIR (finite impulse response) filters. The FIR digital filter has the phase linearity and the easiness of creation. In the design of the FIR digital filter, the window function is used to alleviate ripples caused by Gibbs Phenomenon around the cut-off frequency of the passband. In this paper, we designed a new window function and compared with existing Manning, Hamming and Blackman window functions. And we used peak side-lobe and transient characteristics as standard of judgement.

The Global Positioning System is a navigation system that has been developed by the United States for military use. Currently, many countries, including the Republic of Korea, use GPS for civilian and military uses. However, as useful as it is, GPS is vulnerable to its Jamming signal, as the strength of the signal from satellites is very weak. In this paper, a novel jamming signal detection and cancellation method is proposed when a narrow-band jamming signal is included in the GPS received signal. At the GPS receiver, the received signal is transformed to a frequency domain sample by Fast Fourier Transform. In order to suppress the Spectral Leakage, the Blackman-Harris window is used. The proposed jamming signal cancellation algorithm will find the frequency sample with maximum power and null the maximum sample in addition to some lateral samples. If the GPS receiver is designed with FFT of size 128 to 512, it is shown that 42 samples are optimal to cancel the narrow-band jamming signal.
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of reconstruction filters, X-ray source trajectories and intervals in the quality of digital tomosynthesis (DT) images, and the results was clinically validated. The filtered back-projection was implemented by using Ramp, Shepp-Logan, Cosine, Hamming, Hann and Blackman filters, and the X-ray source trajectories were simulated with 1 × 36, 2 × 18, 3 × 12, 4 × 9 and 6 × 6 arrays. The X-ray source intervals were 5, 10, 20, 30 and 40 mm. The depth resolution, spatial resolution and noise of DT image were evaluated by measuring artifact spread function (ASF), full width at half maximum (FWHM) and signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), respectively. The results showed that the spatial resolution and noise properties of DT images were maximized by the Ramp and Blackman filters, respectively, and the depth resolution and noise properties of the DT images obtained with a 1 × 36 X-ray source trajectory were superior to the other trajectories. The depth resolution and noise properties of DT images improved with an increase of X-ray source intervals, and the high X-ray source intervals degraded the spatial resolution of DT images. Therefore, the characteristics of DT images are highly dependent on reconstruction filters, X-ray source trajectories and intervals, and it is necessary to use optimal imaging parameters in accordance with diagnostic purpose.
We theoretically and experimentally investigate the effect of apodization on the transmission characteristics of linearly chirped fiber Bragg gratings(CFBGs). Based on the UV beam scanning method along a phase mask, we fabricated several apodized CFBGs with different apodization profiles such as Gaussian, Raised-cosine, Blackman, and Hyperbolic tangent. During the UV beam scanning, the phase mask is dithered by a PZT(Piezoelectric transducer) which is precisely controlled by a computer program so that the apodization profiles can be flexibly applied to the grating. We measured the reflection spectra and group delay characteristics of CFBGs with the different apodization profiles, and compared them according to their properties such as reflectivity, sidelobes, and group delay ripple (GDR). The peak-to-peak of GDR could be suppressed to less than 20 ps.
Random amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD) markers were used to analyze genetic similarity among 8 clones of apierous green peach aphid, two types (M. persicae Sulzer and M. nicotianae lack man) classified by their mo~hologi~cahla raters and host preference (Blackman, 1987), collected from tobacco plants. The genetic variation among these clones was evaluated by polymerase chain reaction amplification with 20 random primers. The higher GC contents of primers, the better in amplification efficiency of PCR reaction in general. The genetic similarities among eight aphid clones were analyzed from UPGMA (unweighted pair group average method) cluster analysis based on simple matching coefficient. The range of genetic similarity coefficients was 0.414 to 0.808. The most close relationship among the clones was similarity coefficient of 0.808 between the PG2 and the PG3 clone. The eight aphid clones analyzed were clustered into three groups by the genetic similarity coefficient. The first group, PG1, PG2, PG3 clone including in M. persicae type by their morphological characters and RED clone in M. nicotianae type was clustered at the genetic similarity coefficient of 0.643. The second group, GR1, GR2, BRN in M. nicotianae type was at the 0.636;and the third group was DBR clone in M. persicae type. The results did not indicate any correlation between m&-phological types (M. persicae and M. nicotianae) and RAPD polymorphism. We could not detect any obvious genetic relationships of the two morphological types of the green peach aphid collected from tobacco plants.

In this paper, we want to implement a noise canceller by using FIR filter on DSP(Digital Signal Processor). The FIR filter was designed by Blackman window together with desired band width and center frequency. We adopt Motorola DSP56002 and Crystal CS4215 (A/D and D/A converter) for our purpose. we generate input sinusoidal signals and noises by differential equations and pseudo random sequences on DSP also. The input signal including sinusoidal and noise passes through the FIR filter. The FIR filer output is a sinusoidal signal with noise reduced.

The use of digital filters in the signal process field is increasing rapidly with development of the modern industrial society. Especially, detail processors, Y/C separators, ghost removing filters, standard converters (NTSC to PAL or PAL to NTSC) and noise reducers, all of which use digital filters, tend to be used in digital video and audio processing, CATV and various communication fields. Generally, there are two different digital filters, the Rf (infinite impulse response) filter and the FIR (finite impulse response) filter in digital filter. In this paper, we have designed FIR filter which has the phase linearity and the easiness of creation. In the design of the FIR digital filter, the window function is used to alleviate the ripples caused by Gibbs Phenomenon around the cut off frequency of the band pass. But there're some problems to choose proper window function for the design destination due to its fixed values. Therefore, in this paper, we designed a modified Hanning window with new parameter which is adaptively chosen corresponding to design objectives. The digital filter was simulated to prove the validity of the model and it was compared with the Hamming, the Manning, the Blacknan and the Kaiser window function. And we have used peak side-lobe and transient characteristics as standard of judgement.
In the present article, we analyse the behaviour of a new family of Kantorovich type sampling operators $(K^{\varphi}_wf)_{w>0}$. First, we give a Voronovskaya type theorem for these Kantorovich generalized sampling series and a corresponding quantitative version in terms of the first order of modulus of continuity. Further, we study the order of approximation in $C({\mathbb{R}})$, the set of all uniformly continuous and bounded functions on ${\mathbb{R}}$ for the family $(K^{\varphi}_wf)_{w>0}$. Finally, we give some examples of kernels such as B-spline kernels and the Blackman-Harris kernel to which the theory can be applied.

The Ulvophyceae are a diverse group and most species are distributed in marine environments, however, a smaller diversity occurs in freshwater and terrestrial habitats. Also, the diversity of species belonging to Ulvophyceae has been superficially investigated in Korea. Here, we identify two freshwater ulvophycean species based on the morphology, ultrastructural observation, and phylogenetic analysis. As a result, their taxonomic classifications are as follows: order Ulvales Blackman and Tansley, 1902 - family Kornmanniaceae Golden and Cole, 1986 - Lithotrichon pulchrum Darienko and Proschold 2017; order Ulotrichales Borzi, 1895 - family Tupiellaceae Skaloud and Leliaert, 2018 - Tupiella speciosa Darienko and Proschold 2017. The family Tupiellaceae and the two genera Lithotrichon and Tupiella are reported for the first time in Korea.
DNA polymorphisms were analyzed for 8 clones of the green peach aphid, Myzus persicae Sulzer, by random amplified polymorphic DNA-polymerase chain reaction (RAPD-PCR). The insect has different host preferences and was even classified into two different species, M. persicae Sulzer and Myzus nicotinae Blackman by their morphological characters, but this point is still in arguement. To identify the differences between two types of the green peach aphid by RAPD-PCR, the template DNA was extracted from 4 clones each of tobacco-feeding and non-tobacco-feeding forms and one hundred primers of 10-nucleotideslong were tested in PCR. The amplified DNAs were analyzed by agarose gel electrophoresis. Eighty-three primers gave amplified DNA fragments with 1 to 22 in number and 500 to 20,000 base pairs in length, but no amplification was observed in the other 17 primers. The average number of fragment per each amplification was about 13. In the case of 82 out of 83 random primers, band patterns of amplified DNA were identical among 8 clones, even though some differences were noticed in the intensity of specific bands. Polymorphism was detected by only one primer within the tobacco-feeding forms, but not between the two host types. The results did not detect any relationship between RAPD polymorphism and their host preference.
