  • SACOM(Simulation Analyser with Cognitive Operator Model) is being developed at Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute to simulate human operator's cognitive characteristics during the emergency situations of nuclear power plans. An operator model with error mechanisms has been developed and combined into SACOM to simulate human operator's cognitive information process based on the Rasmussen's decision ladder model. The operational logic for five different cognitive activities (Agents), operator's attentional control (Controller), short-term memory (Blackboard), and long-term memory (Knowledge Base) have been developed and implemented on blackboard architecture. A trial simulation with a scenario for emergency operation has been performed to verify the operational logic. It was found that the operator model with error mechanisms is suitable for the simulation of operator's cognitive behavior in emergency situation.

  • The current research attempts to measure the level of the acceptance of the Blackboard System (BBS) during the Corona crisis, and whether this is one of the reasons for the low use of the BBS at Al-Jouf University. To achieve this, the technology accepting model in the time of crisis (TAMTC) has been proposed to measure the degree of acceptance by students, which was then applied to a random sample of 339 of such. The results show a high level of student acceptance, despite their lower use of the system. The research also highlights the importance of upgrading e-courses and that the discontinuation of exam disqualification of students is secondary to their poor course attendance.

  • Glare phenomenon by sun's altitude and strong sunlight make a much visual handicap. And so, it reaches to unreadable situation although enough illumination in the fore site student of a window site and passage site. In school student seat arrange in the order of their height. So, cause the eyesight acuity according to distance is different, eyesight of backseat's student drop 1.0 and less in spite of 1.0, a learning effect reduces rather then that of the fore site student for site and Passage sitestudents. Therefore. in school, the conclusion's alteration of school structure, position's alteration and material quality's improvement of blackboard are needed, should be local lighting in blackboard. Therefore, we think that in other in improve the effect of lesson by the student, the student seats are not given by uniform disposition in the order of their height but change by a specified period.

  • Recently, character agents are used as a user-friendly interface. In this paper, we have studied a generic framework for emotional character agents which are designed to infer emotions from diverse personalities, situations, user behaviors and to express them. The method of emotion inference is based on blackboard systems which are used to solve the problems in AI. Because it keeps independence between knowledge sources which are rules of emotions, a blackboard-based inference engine is easy to manage knowledge sources, Blackboard-based systems gave the system flexibility. So we can adapt the engine to various application systems. Each emotional agent monitors user behavior, learns user profile and infers user behavior. And it generates characters emotions according to the user profile. So, in case of same situations, the agent can generate different emotions according to users. We have studied to build an personalized emotional character agent which according to situations and user modeling.

  • In the research and development processes of new product, the design objects are frequently redesigned on the basis of experimental results. Most of the conventional CAD systems are based on the computer simulation to reduce the number of redesign. However, these types of CAD systems do not have the functions to infer the cause of trouble in experiments of mock-up and the redesign counterplan of new product. This paper proposes a methodology to establish the DESYR ver. 1(Design Expert SYstem for Research and development) system, which possesses the engineering model of design object in the model database, and refines the model on the basis of experimental results of the prototype. The blackboard inference model has been applied to infer the redesign counterplan. And the validity of DESYR ver. 1 system has been verified by developing the new type of magnetic bearing.

  • The majority of maritime accidents happened by human factor. For that reason, navigation experts want to an intelligent support system for navigation safety, without officer involvement. The expert system which is one of artificial intelligence skills for navigation support is an important tool that a machine can substitute for an expert through the design of a knowledge base and inference engine using the experience or knowledge of an expert. Further, in the real world, a complex situation requires synthetic estimation with the input of experts in various fields for the correct estimation of the situation, not any one expert. In particular, synthetic estimation is more important for navigation situations than in other cases, because of diverse potential threats. This paper presents the method of knowledge fusion pertaining to navigation safety knowledge from various expert systems, using a blackboard system. Then we will show the validity of the method via a design and implementation of test system effort.

  • Process planning (selection and ordering of processes) and material selection for product manufacturing are two key things determined before taking full-scale manufacturing. Knowledge on product design. material characteristics, processes, time and cost all-together are mutually related and should be considered concurrently. Due to the complexity of problem, human experts have got only one of the feasilbe solutions with their field knowledge and experiences. We propose a hierarchical expert system framework of knowledge representation and reasoning in order to overcome the complexity. Manufacturing processes have inherently hierarchical relationships, from top level processes to bottom level operation processes. Process plan of one level is posted in process blackboard and used for lower level process planning. Process information on blackboard is also used to adjust the process plan in order to resolve the dead-end or inconsistency situation during reasoning. Decision variables for process, material, tool, time and cost are represented as object frames, and their relationships are represented as constraints and rules. Constraints are for relationship among variables such as compatibility, numerical inequality etc. Rules are for causal relationships among variables to reflect human expert\`s knowledge such as process precedence. CRSP(Constraint and Rule Satisfaction Problem) approach is adopted in order to obtain solution to satisfy both constraints and rules. The trade-off procedure gives user chances to see the impact of change of important variables such as material, cost, time and helps to determine the preferred solution. We developed the prototype system using visual C++ MFC, UNIK, and UNlK-CRSP on PC.

  • Most current machine vision systems for industrial inspection were developed with one specific task in mind. Hence, these systems are inflexible in the sense that they cannot easily be adapted to other applications. In this paper, a general vision system framework has been developed that can be easily adapted to a variety of industrial web inspection problems. The objective of this system is to automatically locate and identify \\\"defects\\\" on the surface of the material being inspected. This framework is designed to be robust, to be flexible, and to be as computationally simple as possible. To assure robustness this framework employs a combined strategy of top-down and bottom-up control, hierarchical defect models, and uncertain reasoning methods. To make this framework flexible, a modular Blackboard framework is employed. To minimize computational complexity the system incorporates a simple multi-thresholding segmentation scheme, a fuzzy logic focus of attention mechanism for scene analysis operations, and a partitioning if knowledge that allows concurrent parallel processing during recognition.cognition.
