  • In this paper, the asymtotic performance of a multiple trellis coded differential MPSK modulation over a satellite land mobile communication channel characterized by additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) and fading is presented. Simple formulas for the bit error probability are derived for systems using differential MTCM over Rician and Rayleigh fading channel. Also are given numerical results which are more indicative of the actual system performance. Finally, the comparisons with results previously obtained for the uncoded and conventional trellis coded modulation are provided.

  • This paper shows the performances of asynchronous binary direct-sequence spread-spectrum multiple access communication systems with Rayleigh fading and White Gaussian noise. The performance measures considered are worst-case bit error probability and average SNR depending on code sequences and chip waveforms. The code sequences used are m-sequence and Gold sequence with period 31.The chip waveforms employed are rectangular, sinusoidal and something other chip waveforms.

  • S(Synchronous)-CDMA is a new cable modem technology applicable to the upstream channel for high speed multimedia communication using CATV networks. In this paper we analyze the transmitting and receiving process of S-CDMA scheme based on Terayon patent and derive bit error probability of S-CDMA and TDMA scheme in the $\varepsilon$-mixture impulse noise model which appropriately reflects impulse noise characteristics of upstream channel by using various parameters. This analysis results are a good match with the simulation results. We also compare Eb/No gain performance of S-CDMA with TDMA in 16, 32, 64, QAM.

  • This paper considers a channel estimation technique in a wireless local area network (WLAN) system with complementary code keying (CCK) signaling over multipath fading channels. This scheme uses the maximum correlator output of RAKE receiver for the extraction of the channel parameters. The performance of the proposed detection technique is compared with that of a noncoherent detection technique, and a significant improvement of performance is observed in terms of the bit error probability.

  • In this paper, we perform a research on a message delivery link based on visible light communication using illumination light-emitting diodes (LEDs) for car-to-car communications and the link transmission success probability is analyzed for the link. The message delivery system is modeled and the signal-to-noise ratio is calculated from the received optical power. Then, the link transmission probability is estimated from the calculated bit error rates (BERs). The message delivery system has optical links from an LED transmitter near the rear lamp of a car ahead to a receiver near the headlamp of a car behind, whose positions are assumed to follow the normal Gaussian distribution. The link transmission success probability is calculated considering the physical characteristics of the optical link. The car positions are generated according to the normal distribution and the bit error rates are calculated for all links. The link transmission success probability is defined. For the unoptimized optical car-to-car message delivery links, it is shown that the link transmission success probability is larger than 0.9 with the transmitted optical power of 400 mW and the semi-angle at half power of 30 degree.

  • In this paper, we have proposed a demodulation circuit of radio data receiver system and calculated the error probability of the digital transmitted signal corrupted under noise environment. And we have evaluated the error performance of the proposed system. The designed demodulation circuits have been implemented by using the general random logic and PLL circuits, which can be possible for the integrated circuit design of the radio data receiver system. In addition calculation of bit error rate in recovered digital signal has been accomplished ans we have confirmed that the proposed system hsa the equivalent performance with already existing ones.

  • The main purpose of this paper is to investigate effects of skewness and kurtosis on the one-sample test. We have found that type I error brought about a little bit change which is ignorable in relation to kurtosis. Also the change of type I error was completely based on skewness under the same size of the sample. We conclude that using t-test is more similar to robust than using z-test. In introductory statistics classes where data analysis includes techniques for detecting skewness, we recommend the t-test when skewness is smaller than the value 1 to the one-sample test for a mean when the variances is unknown using the probability of a type I error as the criterion of interest.

  • Adaptive code rate change schemes in DS-SSMA systems are proposed. In the proposed schemes, the error correcting code rate is changed according to the channel states. Two channel states having significant effects on the bit error probability are considered: one is the effective number of users, and the other is the fading environment. These channel states are estimated based on retransmission requests. The criterion for the change of the code rate is to maximize the throughput under given error bound.

  • In this series of two papers, adaptive code rate change schemes in DS-SSMA systems are proposed. In the proposed schemes the error correcting code rate is changed according to the channel states. Two channel states having significant effects on the bit error probability are considered: one is the effective number of users considered in Part 1, and the other is the fading environment considered in Part 2. These channel states are estimated based on retransmission requests. The criterion for the change of the code rate is to maximize the throughput under given error bound. Simulation results show that we can transmit maximum amount of information if we change the code rate based on the channel states.
