  • The purpose of this study was to analysis of pelvis and lower extremity using orientation angles during a developpe a la seconde. Data were collected by Kwon3D program. Two females professional modem dancer were participated in this experiment. Subjects performed a developpe a la seconde in meddle heights(about 90 dog.) The results were as follows. The orientation angles of pelvis were, in most cases, caused by the movement of trunk and thigh. It was restricted the movement of pelvis within narrow limits because the movement of pelvis was very important to lower extremity alignment. The orientation angle of shank against thigh showed a change of angle about $3-6^{\circ}$ in internal external rotation. The orientation angle of foot against shank showed a change of angle about $6-7^{\circ}$ in internal external rotation.

  • The purposes of this study were to reveal the kinematic and kinetic difference of hard ground soccer shoe, firm ground soccer shoe and soft ground soccer shoe. Soccer players were shoes of varying stud designs with some preferring the bladed studs while others opting for the conventional studded stud. Statistics were used one way-ANOVA and Tukey's Honestly Significant Difference Method. Seven healthy college soccer players were attended a test. All parameters were recorded using the Zebris system. Spatio-temporal variables were no significant difference. Lateral symmetry was statistically significant differences (p<.05). Vertical GRF parameters were no significant difference. Medial midfoot pressure, lateral midfoot pressure and central forefoot pressure were statistically significant differences (p<.05). This study demonstrates that playing surface significantly affects difference soccer shoes during soccer game. Furthermore, epidemiological investigation is warranted to determine the effects of playing surfaces on sport specific injury mechanisms.

  • The purpose of this study were to investigate the effects of knee brace on the knee muscular neuro-biomechanical variables during the rebound in female highschool basketball players. Twelve high school female ($17.9{\pm}0.8years$) basketball players rebound jumped for maximal vertical height to sufficiently stress the anterior cruciate ligament with and without knee brace. Kinematic data were collected to estimate the knee flexion, abduction angles and jump height. The EMG data from the biceps femoris and rectus femoris was used to estimate the ratio of quadriceps muscle activity. Female athletes with knee brace showed more reduced the knee abduction angle and the ratio of quadriceps muscle activity at foot contact phase than without knee brace. In conclusion, Female athletes with brace reduced knee anterior cruciate ligament loads.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of martial art type and target height on the ground reaction force factors during Dollyuchagi motion. Data were collected using force plate. Five Taekwondo players and five Hapkido players were tested during Dollyuchagi motion to three different target heights(0.8, 1.2, 1.6 m). After analysis of kinetics using force plate data, maximum vertical ground reaction force was 1.62~2.44 BW, and impulse was $0.66\sim1.01 BW{\cdot}s$. Even though there was no difference for maximum ground reaction forces and impulse between Hapkido and Taekwondo, as target height was higher, impulse increased. Anterior-posterior and vertical ground reaction forces at kicking foot take-off were greater with target height, although there was no difference for medio-lateral force with target height. At impact there was significant difference for anterior-posterior ground reaction force between Hapkido and Taekwondo players. Taekwondo players' force (range, -0.23~-0.26 BW) was greater than Hapkido players's force (range, -0.08~-0.14 BW).

  • Background: Single-leg squat (SLS)s are commonly used as assessment tool and closed kinetic exercises are useful for assessing performance of the lower extremities. Pronated feet are associated with foot pressure distribution (FPD) during daily activities. Objects: To compare the FPD during SLSs between groups with pronated and normal feet. Methods: This cross-sectional study included 30 participants (15 each in the pronated foot and control groups) are recruited in this study. The foot posture index was used to distinguish between the pronated foot and control groups. The Zebris FDM (Zebris Medical GmbH) stance analysis system was used to measure the FPD on the dominant side during a SLS, which was divided into three phases. A two-way mixed-model ANOVA was used to identify significant differences in FPD between and within the two groups. Results: In the hallux, the results of the two-way mixed-model ANOVAs revealed a significant difference between the group and across different phases (p < 0.05). The hallux, and central forefoot were significantly different between the group (p < 0.05). Moreover, significant differences across different phases were observed in the hallux, medial forefoot, central forefoot, lateral forefoot, and rearfoot (p < 0.05). The post hoc t-tests were conducted for the hallux and forefoot central regions. In participants with pronated foot, the mean pressure was significantly greater in hallux and significantly lower, in the central forefoot during the descent and holding phases. Conclusion: SLSs are widely used as screening tests and exercises. These findings suggest that individuals with pronated feet should be cautious to avoid excessive pressure on the hallux during the descent-to-hold phase of a SLS.

  • This study investigated foot pressure patterns between experienced skiers and intermediate skiers during alpine skiing. Five experienced skiers and five intermediate skiers participated in this study. Foot pressure measurement system was used to measure vertical ground reaction force (vGRF) and contact area under the six plantar regions. Each participant was asked to perform basic parallel turns and carved turns on a $18^{\circ}$ groomed slope. Each right turn was divided into the initiation phase, the steering phase 1 and 2. For the initiation phase of the basic parallel turns, significantly greater contact area was found on the LRF and RRF of the intermediate skiers (p<.05) and significantly greater vGRF was found on the LRF of the intermediate skiers (p<.05). Also significantly greater vGRF and contact area were found on the LRF and RRF of the intermediate skiers at the steering phase 1 (p<.05) and on the LRF of the intermediate skiers at the steering phase 2 (p<.05). For the carved turns, significantly greater vGRF and contact area were found on the LRF and RRF of the intermediate skiers at all three phase (p<.05). On the other hand, significantly greater vGRF was found on the RFF of the experienced skiers at the steering phase 1 (p<.05). Also significantly greater vGRF and contact area were found on the RMF of the experienced skiers at the steering phase 2 (p<.05). In order to increase performance, we suggest that the intermediate skiers should be unweighted at the initiation phase and shift the body weight to the forefoot of the outer foot at the steering phase 1. Also, the outer ski should be loaded more than the both skis at the steering phase 1 and 2.
