Obesity usually is defined as the presence of and abnormally amount of adipose tissue. In many epidemiologic study, obesity as a health risk factor has been estimated by Body Mass Index(BMI) in general. This study was conducted to review of body fat percent measured by Bioelectric impedance analyzer as a estimator of obesity in a rural adult population. The study subjects were 421 men and 664 women who reside in the area on the Juam lake. They were sampled by multistage cluster sampling. Their mean age was 59 years old. Body fat percent increased with age, but BMI decreased with age in this study. Body fat percent was more larger at female and elder on the same BMI. The correlation coefficient between with body fat percent and body mass index was low (r=0.4737). Body fat percent was explained by not only BMI but also sex and age $(r^2=0.63)$. The result suggested that it is inadequate for BMI only to estimate obesity about elderly person who reside in the rural community. The relation of body fat percent and body mass index of this study agreed with the preceding know-ledges and studies in general.

Objectives: In order to study the effect of the oriental medical therapy on the patients who visited Neuropsychiatry and oriental medical differentiation of symptoms and signs with ABR (Autonomic Bioelectric Response recorder)-2000, these clinical studies were performed. Methods: Sixty six patients with headache were classified into three groups; the first is tension headache, the second is migraine headache, the last is the others, each group was investigated of a various characteristic, the effect of the oriental medical therapy and stress was measured by ABR-2000. Result: 1. According to the statics, the tention headache's rate was higher than migraine; on the whole woman's rate was higher than man's. however in the migraine the rate of sex was equal. 2. According to the cause facter, oversensitiveness, overexertion, dyspepsia, etc. were numorous in the order. 3. According to the oriental medical differentiation of symptoms and signs, the rate of stagnation of the liver-qi' s fire-transmission(肝鬱化火) and deficiency of qi(氣虛), these two types were highest. result of analyzing ABR-2000 is that stagnation of the liver-qi's fire-transmission(肝鬱化火) is the highest stress. 4. According to treatment rate, 80.3 percent of patients satisfied of treatment.

Meridian which used as the basic theory of acupuncture treatment, is an important functional connection system of acupuncture point in oriental medicine. Yangdorak and EAV have lack of precision because of using 2-electrode method, occurring high non-uniformed current density and electrode contact status on electrode placement spot. Therefore we implemented a meridian impedance measurement system for measuring meridian impedance using 4-electrode method. In order to confirm the precision of developed system, we made an constant current characteristic experiment using standard resistor. As a results of clinical study with 18 subjects, the meridian impedance showed that reproductivity and repeatability of HT7 acupuncture point are $0.515[k{\Omega}]{\pm}0.000$(mean${\pm}$standard deviation) and $0.515[k{\Omega}]{\pm}0.002$, respectively. And reproductivity and repeatability of PC7 are $0.521[k{\Omega}]{\pm}0.000$ and $0.521[{\Omega}]{\pm}0.001$ respectively. The proposed system was stable and reliable. Therefore this study proved AC impedance method to valid in measuring meridian impedance, and also verified precision and repeatability of the proposed meridian impedance measurement system. The proposed system will serve as more effective method of measuring meridian phenomena as a bioelectric signal in clinical practice.

Headache is one of the most common medical complaints. It is not so easy to manage headache. especially if it is chronic although it seldom cause serious problem. There are many psychological factor known to induce, maintain an aggravate symptom in patients with chronic headache. The purpose of this study is to investigate clinical characteristics with ABR-2000 was carried out for 57 patients who had been suffered from headache for 6 months from march to August 2000.The results were as follows:1. According to the statics, on the whole woman's rate was higher than man's, and the mean duration of the headache was 8.06 years.2. Common associated symptoms were nausea. dyspepsia, dizziness, palpitation, fatigue, depression, etc.3. According to oriental medical differentiation of symptoms and signs, the rate of stagnation of the liver-qi's fire-transmission(肝變化火), deficiency of blood(血虛) and plegm syncope (痰厥), these three types were hghest.4. Result of analyzing ABR-2000 is that the rate of low response is higher than high response's on each item. But result of Graph A is that the rate of high response in higher than that of low response only in deficiency of Yin(陰虛) and the rate of high response in stagnation of the liver-qi's fire-transmission(肝變化火) and deficiency of blood (血虛) is comparatively high. Result of Graph R is that the rate of high response in wind-heat(風熱), deficiency of blood(血虛) and plegm syncope(痰厥) is comparatively higher than in others.

Electromyogram (EMG) is the bioelectric signal induced by motor nerves. Analyzing EMG with the movement produced by muscle contraction, we can provide input commands to a computer as a man-machine interface as well as can evaluate the patient's motional abnormality. In this paper, we developed an integrated miniaturized device which acquires and transmits the surface EMG of an interested muscle. Developed system measures $60{\times}40{\times}25mm$, weighs 100g. Using an amplifier circuitry on the electrodes and the radio frequency transmission, the developed system dispenses with the use of cables among the electrodes, amplifier, and the post processing system (personal computer). The wiring used in conventional systems can be obstacle for natural motion and source of motion artifacts. In results, the developed system improves not only the signal-to-noise ration in dynamic EMG measurement, but also the user convenience. We propose a new human-computer interface as well as a dynamic EMG measurement system as a possible application of the developed system.

Nasucon lamp and Russian ones, which are coated with some special materials on the glass bulb, gave good clinical results for a cancer therapy. They are experimentally studied with Automatic Bioelectric Response Recorder on the six placements of the electrodes (two feet, two hands and two foreheads). They reduced the current rather than the control (natural) state. However infrared lamp and Chinese God light did not reduced the value current. Hemoglobin in blood. Brown gas, Ti$_3$SiC$_2$ and Nasucon have planar crystallizing $\pi$-bonding bonding layer and covalent bonding one in sequence commonly and thus the alternating magnetic fields are protected. Nasucon lamp and Russian ones utilized electric bulbs in order to generate alternating magnetic fields and to produce absorbing force.

The assessment method of human body composion by bioelectrical impedance is very simple, safe, rapid and noninvasive. Based on prediction formulas for total body water from bioelectrical impedance, the observed weight loss should be associated with an increase in impedance. However in edematous patients for dialysis, the calculated total body water loss as calculated from impedance were overestimated and significantly higher than the weight loss after dialysis. So determination of impedance were made in 50 edematous patients before, during and after dialysis. Mean weight loss, which was assumed to be only loss of water was 1719$\pm$ 866 gr and mean impedance change was 71.0 $\pm$ 23.0 Ohm under 50kHz. Body weight loss was highly correlated [r>0.81 with the increase in body impedance under variable frequencies[1, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 kHz . But there were no differences between frequences. In conclusion, clinical application of bioelectrical impedance method is useful for individual edematous patients with new correlation equation[Y=230+26.8X, X;Impedance change, Y;Calculated total body water loss .

When applying a SQUID system for diagnosing heart disease, it is informative to obtain the source current distributions from the measured MCG (magnetocardiogram) signals since the bioelectric activity in the heart is generally represented by distributed current sources. In order to estimate the Primary current distribution in a heart, the minimum norm estimate was computed, assuming a source plane below the chest surface. In the simulation, current distributions, which were computed for the test dipoles represented well the essential feature of the test-current configurations. Source current reconstruction was performed for MCG signal of a healthy volunteer, which was recorded using a 40-channel SQUID system in a magnetically shielded room. It was found that the obtained current distribution is consistent with the electrical activity in a heart.

Recently, the high blood pressure is appeared the most frequent disease of a man's the whole sickness. But, to treat this disease is uncertain and produces an adverse reaction of a medicine therapy. Also, a patients are burden high price for doctor's treatment. Therefore, we studied effectively and financially to execute the treatment of the high blood pressure using the Chinese Medicine Theorem that recently arousing a great interest of the people. The main theories of this paper are Blood Vessel Theory and Acupuncture. The composed circuits are low-frequency generating circuit, charging-discharging circuit. The former will substitute a needle that use in the acupuncture therapy method and the latter will charge and discharge the bioelectric action potential of a patient in Ear Acupuncture Point. Also, all circuits will be controlled a micro-computer circuit.
