  • Media (bio-stone), aquatic macrophytes (Oenanthe javanica) and herbivorous cladoceran (Daphnia similoides) have been used in artificial floating island (AFI) systems for water pollution control. Efficiency in chl-a concentration controlling of AFI was tested using different combinations of each device: G-BD-mixture bio-stone and Daphnia similoides, G-OB-mixture Oenanthe javanica and bio-stone, G-BOD-mixture bio-stone, Oenanthe javanica and Daphnia similoides, and the out-put water quality improvement was compared with G-C-control (no device was applied). We analyzed removal efficiency of chl-a concentration and nutrient concentrations in the artificially eutrophic water in the laboratory experimental facility. The results showed average removal rates of Chlorophyll a, TN and TP for different four groups: 69.24%, 16.61%, -0.61%; 68.39%, 14.11%, 10.52%; 78.30%, 6.69%, 25.09%; 35.42%, -3.47%, -25.18%, respectively. The results have suggested that the mixture of media, plants and zooplankton is the most efficient combination for Chlorophyll a control, while the mixture of macrophytes and bio-stone have better efficiency nutrient control.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was establishing process of manufacturing dental prosthesis by using eZIS system(DDS Inc.,Korea). Methods: To evaluate accuracy verification, the test was practiced two ways. First, Comparison of 3D printing models and stone models was practiced by using 3D superimposing software. #36 prepared master model was scanned by eZIS system and three 'Veltz3D' 3D printing models and three 'Bio3D' 3D printing models were manufactured. three stone models were manufactured by conventional impression technique. Second, Fitness test was practiced. the 3D printing models and the stone models was compared by manufacturing same resin crown. #36 prepared master model was scanned 9 times and manufactured (milled) 9 resin crowns by eZIS system. These crowns were cemented three 'Veltz3D' 3D printing models, three 'Bio3D' 3D printing models and three stone models. These crowns were sliced mesiodistal axis and gaps were measured by digital microscope. Results: The average accuracy of Bio3D models were 65.75%. Veltz3D(Hebsiba) models were 60.11% Stone models were 41.00%. Conclusion : This study results showed 3D printing model is similar with stone model. So it was under clinical allow, didn't affect final dental prothesis. There were no significant differences in the appearance of the three types of milling crowns.

  • This study was to investigate the physical properties and the external characteristics of denim fabrics(100% cotton non-spun denim, 98% cotton/2% polyurethane spun denim) such as tensile strength, thickness and weight, flex stiffness, surface color and shrinkage. The results of the study were as follows. After examining the change of external characteristics of before and after washing finishing for denim fabrics, denim with bio washing had increased pliability compared to denim without washing finishing but the pliability of the denim did not increase according to the intensity or frequency of washing. The luminance change according to washing finishing was high in the order of bio stone bleach washing, bio stone washing, bio washing and denim without washing finishing and the surface color became brighter in accordance with the increase of intensity and frequency of washing finishing.

  • Stone has been one of the most intensely studied materials in conservation. Understanding the deterioration of stone needs various knowledge in different mineralogical and physical characteristics and its weathering response under different climate and environment. The alteration and weathering of stone is affected by natural or artificial elements whether they are physical, chemical or biological damaging factors. It can be said that the bio deterioration of stone is coupled with every environmental factors, which induce decomposition of stone structure, either directly or indirectly as a form of catalysis. Many elements contribute to the deterioration of stone monuments and other objects of cultural value such as pagoda, stature of Buddha, etc. This report concentrates on the action of biodeteriorative factorsincluding bacteria, algae and higher plants. Preventive and remedial methods and a selection of chemical treatments are also described.

  • The purpose of research was to find aerial algae and to investigate the change of color in each class of photosynthetic pigments in five stone cultural properties of Korea. It turned out to be a total of 29 taxa, including as 26 species, 1 variety and 2 unidentified species. Among them, Haplaosiphon fontinalis and Stigonema turfaceum were found to be newly recorded species of Korea. The average Chl-a concentration from the change of color in the stone cultural properties increased as its class; however, the class 5 showed lower values than the class 4, which was shown in previous studies. From the studies of algal distribution, chlorophytes appeared earlier than cyanophytes in stone cultural properties of algal infestation. Also, 50% or more of the five stone cultural properties already appeared to have bio-pollution.

  • Song-Gang® bio-stone (SGS) is a microporous crystalline hydrated aluminosilicate which has found various applications because of their very unique physiochemical characteristics such as ion exchange and absorptive-desorptive properties. Significant progress has been made in recent years on applications of these inorganic adsorbents in different industries including agriculture, aquaculture, water and wastewater treatment. This review article intends to summarize the published reports on the applications of SGS in aquaculture industry. SGS application as a feed additive to enhance fish growth and promote their health and nutritional parameters is the most important discussed areas. According to the technical data that are discussed in this review, SGS should be considered as a material with tremendous potential for application in the aquaculture industry. Considerable amounts of research works are under way to explore other opportunities for application of SGS to benefit aquaculture industry.

  • Denim washing is processed with different washing techniques such as stone washing, chemical washing, sand washing, and bio washing. Cellulase bio washing can meet environmental regulations that enhance and rectify problems associated with traditional decolorization techniques; however, stone washing needs to be added to the processing because it produces a low decolorization effect. There is also the problem of additional strength reduction. To prevent these problems, a new enzyme for bio washing is required. This study examines the optimum laccase treatment conditions on denim and evaluated the characteristics of laccase-treated denims to establish a database of eco-friendly new decolorization process on denim using a new laccase enzyme. The results show that the optimum conditions of laccase on denim are a pH of 4.0, $30^{\circ}C$, 7% (o.w.f.), and 6 hours in 10 mM of buffer concentration. UV absorbance and HPLC identified isatin coexist with anthranilic acid in solution after laccase treatment on denim. Results of the surface color, the surface morphology and the tensile strength indicate that laccase treatment shows an excellent decolorization effect without fiber damage. The wet cleaning fastness and the perspiration fastness also improved.

  • The purpose of this study was to understand the current trend with regard to the material of jeans and the making method of jeans pattern and the characteristics of washing processing through the overall production status of jeans in casual brands and to offer the basic data for producing the high efficient jeans. The results were as follows. According to the survey of production status of jeans in casual brands, the fabric mixture was highest in the order of non-stretch denim 100% cotton, stretch denim cotton/spandex mix and denim with $1{\sim}2%$ weft direction spandex mix. The most frequently used processing method for denim was in the order of normal finishing, mercerization finishing, soft finishing and pigment finishing. The most frequently used method of washing finishing for jeans was in the order of forming by embossing washing, bio stone washing, normal washing, bio washing, and bio stone bleach washing. The average shrinkage was higher on waist circumference and pants length of warp direction rather than hips circumference, thigh circumference, hem circumference of weft direction.
