한국 동해 연안에 출현하는 도루묵(Arctoscopus japonicus)의 식성 (Feeding Habits of the Sandfish, Arctoscopus japonicus in the Coastal Waters of East Sea, Korea)

  • 이번 연구에 사용된 도루묵은 2020년 1월부터 2021년 12월까지 우리나라 동해에서 동해구외끌이저인망과 연안자망 어업을 통해 총 781개체를 채집하였다. 채집된 도루묵의 전장범위는 14.8~25.4 cm였다. 도루묵의 가장 중요한 먹이생물은 54.7%의 상대중요도지수비를 나타낸 단각류였으며, 그 다음으로는 각각 33.7%와 11.6%를 차지한 두족류와 난바다곤쟁이류였다. 그외 게류, 새우류, 어류, 갯지렁이류가 출현하였으나 그 양은 매우 적었다. 계절별 위내용물 조성을 살펴본 결과, 모든 계절에 단각류를 주로 섭식하였으며, 여름철에 두족류의 섭식비율이 가장 높았으며, 봄철에 난바다곤쟁이류의 비율이 가장 높았다. 크기군별 위내용물 조성을 살펴본 결과, 도루묵은 모든 크기군에서 단각류가 가장 중요한 먹이생물이었으며, 성장함에 따라 단각류와 난바다곤쟁이류의 비율은 감소하고 두족류의 비율은 증가하는 경향이 관찰되었다. 개체당 평균먹이생물 개체수는 유의한 차이를 보이지 않은 반면, 중량은 크기군이 증가함에 따라 증가하는 경향이 관찰되었다.

  • Biometrics is one of promising future technologies within personal identification area, and its application stretches to other variety industry site. Therefore it is necessary to test whether these products are implemented in conformance withe the BioAPI international standard specification. This paper presents the specific construction and application examples of BioAPI v2.0 conformance test suite according to the method described in ISO/IEC 24709. The problems and experience that have been discovered in the construction are described. Three BSP products claiming conformance to BioAPI was tested by proposed the test methodology and tools.

소나무 (Pinus koraiensis) 추출물과 결합 된 막걸리 발효의 특징 (Characteristic of Makgeolli and Pine (Pinus koraiensis) Extract Fermentation)

  • In this research, the improvement of Korean rice wine (makgeolli) with pine (Pinus koraiensis) extract addition was evaluated due to the increase in alcoholic Korean traditional beverage. Makgeolli fermentation was prepared using Korean rice and nuruk (traditional starter) supplemented by pine needle (MPN) and pine sprout (MPS) extract. The average of initial pH level for MPN was 3.95 and MPS was 4.55, the average of initial sugar content for MPN was 0.4% and MPS was 0.3%. The sugar content and pH level behavior were investigated every 24h during fermentation period. The observation of microbial colony was done at days 8 of fermentation period with three time sample dilution. Afterward, the physical appearance of fermentation solution and microbial development were investigated in the final of fermentation period. The number of yeast and LAB ($402{\times}103\;CFU/mL$) in MPN was greater than the yeast and LAB count in MPS ($224{\times}103\;CFU/mL$). The pH level obtained by addition pine sprout have value of R2 higher than addition of pine needles (leaf), the sugar content (%) behaviour was opposite with pH level behaviour.

  • In order to improve this, Korean universities should reorganize their curriculum such as job system research and job - based program development according to the demand of industry in order to improve their working ability due to the decrease of the school - age population and the youth unemployment rate. In this study, first, conceptualization of friendly education and definition of industry - university cooperation and analysis of cases related to friendly - educational cooperation between industry and academia, second, analysis of fusion healing majors in Healing Bio - I want to conduct research. Konkuk University Healing Bioresource College conducted a survey based on demand such as experts and industry for the development of industry - academic cooperation - friendly curriculum. As a result of this process, I developed a curriculum development committee to study the internal and external environment through the literature survey, focus group interviews, and Delphi research. The purpose of this study is to develop competitiveness curriculum reflecting competitiveness of human resource development in Korea, to develop competitiveness curriculum that reflects customized opinions of societal demand, to organize systematic curriculum to have practical ability, to strengthen the employment link through development of curriculum in accordance with the direction of human resources development, We will make contribution to build the system of operation from the center to the consumer center, evaluation of the practical ability through the curriculum and the feedback system.

The Actin-Related Protein BAF53 Is Essential for Chromosomal Subdomain Integrity

  • A chromosome territory is composed of chromosomal subdomains. The internal structure of chromosomal subdomains provides a structural framework for many genomic activities such as replication and DNA repair, and thus is key to determining the basis of their mechanisms. However, the internal structure and regulating proteins of a chromosomal subdomain remains elusive. Previously, we showed that the chromosome territory expanded after BAF53 knockdown. Because the integrity of chromosomal subdomains is a deciding factor of the volume of a chromosome territory, we examined here the effect of BAF53 knockdown on chromosomal subdomains. We found that BAF53 knockdown led to the disintegration of histone H2B-GFP-visualized chromosomal subdomains and BrdU-labeled replication foci. In addition, the size of DNA loops measured by the maximum fluorescent halo technique increased and became irregular after BAF53 knockdown, indicating DNA loops were released from the residual nuclear structure. These data can be accounted for by the model that BAF53 is prerequisite for maintaining the structural integrity of chromosomal subdomains.

진해만 동부해역에 출현하는 자치어의 종조성 (Species composition of larval fishes in the eastern Jinhae Bay, Korea)

  • A study for species composition and abundance of the fish assemblages in the eastern Jinhae Bay, Korea was conducted using monthly larval collection by a RN80 net from October, 2010 to September, 2011. Of all the 45 species collected, the dominant species were Clupea pallasii, Hexagrammos otakii, Pholis fangi and Engraulis japonicus. Clupea pallasii, Hexagrammos otakii, Pholis fangi in winter and examined Engraulis japonicus, Acanthogobius sp., Parablennius yatabei, and Tridentiger trigonocephalus in summer appeared seasonally. Popoulation characteristic by stations was not clear seasonally and spatially, and appearance aspects of dominant species were similar by stations. Compared our results with other studies in the South Sea, dominant species and their appearance period were similar to their spawning period. Finally, the appearance period of the larvae in the South Sea was closely resulted to spawning period rather than the regional characteristic.

The Ligand Occupancy of Endothelial Protein C Receptor Switches the Signaling Specificity of Thrombin from a Disruptive to a Protective Response in Endothelial Cells

  • Activated protein C (APC) is thought to exert antiinflammatory activities through the endothelial protein C receptor (EPCR)-dependent cleavage of protease activated receptor 1 (PAR-1) in endothelial cells. Since thrombin cleaves PAR-1 with $\sim$3-4-orders of magnitude higher efficiency, and PAR-1 is a target for proinflammatory activities of thrombin, it is not understood how APC can elicit protective responses through the cleavage of PAR-1. In this study, we demonstrate that EPCR is associated with caveolin-1 in endothelial lipid rafts, but its occupancy by protein C leads to its dissociation from caveolin-1 and subsequent recruitment of PAR-1 to protective signaling pathways through the coupling of PAR-1 to Gi-protein. When EPCR is bound by protein C, the PAR-1-dependent protective response in endothelial cells can be mediated by either thrombin or APC. These results provide a new paradigm for understanding the mechanism through which PAR-1 and EPCR participate in cellular signaling events in endothelial cells.
