Today, concrete remains the most important, durable, and reliable material that has been used in the construction sector, making it the most commonly used material after water. However, cement continues to exert many negative effects on the environment, including the production of carbon dioxide (CO2), which pollutes the atmosphere. Cement production is costly, and it also consumes energy and natural non- renewable resources, which are critical for sustainability. These factors represent the motivation for researchers to examine the various alternatives that can reduce the effects on the environment, natural resources, and energy consumption and enhance the mechanical properties of concrete. Geopolymer is one alternative that has been investigated; this can be produced using aluminosilicate materials such as low calcium (class F) FA, Ultra-Fine GGBS, and high calcium FA (class C, which are available worldwide as industrial, agricultural byproducts.). It has a high percentage of silica and alumina, which react with alkaline solution (activators). Aluminosilicate gel, which forms as a result of this reaction, is an effective binding material for the concrete. This paper presents an up-to-date review regarding the important engineering properties of geopolymer formed by FA and slag binders; the findings demonstrate that this type of geopolymer could be an adequate alternative to ordinary Portland cement (OPC). Due to the significant positive mechanical properties of slag-FA geopolymer cements and their positive effects on the environment, it represents a material that could potentially be used in the construction industry.

In this study, we investigated various coating methods of graphene oxide on the surface of a petri dish made of polystyrene and analyzed the physical and chemical properties of the coated surface. For coating, spinning, spraying and pressing methods were attempted. The coated surface was characterized by SEM, Raman Spectroscopy, AFM, FT-IR, UV-Vis Spectroscopy and Contact Angle measurement. By spin coating and spray coating, well distributed graphene oxide in the form of multiple islands on the plastic surface with an average size of 5 to 20㎛ are observed by SEM, and high binding energy between graphene oxide and plastic surface is measured by AFM. In case of hand press coating, graphene oxide of 10㎛ or more was observed, and low surface energy was measured. By FT-IR and Raman Spectroscopy analysis, surface coating of graphene oxide was confirmed.
Computational prediction of protein-ligand binding has been widely used as a tool to discover lead compounds fur new drugs. Prediction accuracy is determined in part by the scoring function used in docking calculations. Diverse scoring functions are available, and these can be classified into force-field based, empirical, and knowledge-based functions depending upon the basic assumptions made in development. Among these, force-field based functions consider physical interactions the most in detail. However, the force-field based functions have the drawback of not including the entropic effect while considering only the energy contribution such as dispersion or electrostatic forces. In this article, a method to take into account of the entropic effect using the colony energy is suggested when force-field based scoring functions is used by extracting conformational information obtained from the pre-existing docking program. An improved result for decoy discrimination is illustrated when the method is applied to the DOCK scoring function, and this implies that more accurate docking calculation is possible.
Due to the rapidly diminishing energy sources and higher energy production cost, the interest in dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) has been increasing dramatically in recent years. A typical DSSC is constructed of wide band gap semiconductor electrode such as $TiO_2$ or ZnO that are anchored by light-harvesting sensitizer dyes and surrounded by a liquid electrolyte with a iodide ion/triiodide ion redox couple. DSSCs based on one-dimensional nano-structures, such as ZnO nanorods, have been recently attracting increasing attention due to their excellent electrical conductivity, high optical transmittance, diverse and abundant configurations, direct band gap, absence of toxicity, large exiton binding energy, etc. However, solar-to-electrical conversion performances of DSSCs composed of ZnO n-type photo electrode compared with that of $TiO_2$ are not satisfactory. An important reason for the low photovoltaic performance is the dissolution of $Zn^{2+}$ by the adsorption of acidic dye followed by the formation of agglomerates with dye molecules which could block the I-diffusion pathway into the dye molecule on the ZnO surface. In this paper, we prepared the DSSC with the ZnO electrode using the chemical bath deposition (CBD) method under low temperature condition (< $100^{\circ}C$). It was demonstrated that the ZnO seed layers played an important role on the formation of the ZnO nanostructures using CBD. To achieve truly low-temperature growth of the ZnO nanostructures on the substrates, a two-step method was developed and optimized in the present work. Firstly, ZnO seed layer was prepared on the FTO substrate through the spin-coating method. Secondly, the deposited ZnO seed substrate was immersed into an aqueous solution of 0.25M zinc nitrate hexahydrate and 0.25M hexamethylenetetramine at $90^{\circ}C$ for hydrothermal reaction several times.

Details of carrier dynamics in self-assembled quantum dots (QDs) with a particular attention to nonradiative processes are not only interesting for fundamental physics, but it is also relevant to performance of optoelectronic devices and the exploitation of nanocrystals in practical applications. In general, the possible processes in such systems can be considered as radiative relaxation, carrier transfer between dots of different dimensions, Auger nonradiactive scattering, thermal escape from the dot, and trapping in surface and/or defects states. Authors of recent studies have proposed a mechanism for the carrier dynamics of time-resolved photoluminescence CdTe (a type II-VI QDs) systems. This mechanism involves the activation of phonons mediated by electron-phonon interactions. Confinement of both electrons and holes is strongly dependent on the thermal escape process, which can include multi-longitudinal optical phonon absorption resulting from carriers trapped in QD surface defects. Furthermore, the discrete quantized energies in the QD density of states (1S, 2S, 1P, etc.) arise mainly from ${\delta}$-functions in the QDs, which are related to different orbitals. Multiple discrete transitions between well separated energy states may play a critical role in carrier dynamics at low temperature when the thermal escape processes is not available. The decay time in QD structures slightly increases with temperature due to the redistribution of the QDs into discrete levels. Among II-VI QDs, wide-gap CdZnTe QD structures characterized by large excitonic binding energies are of great interest because of their potential use in optoelectronic devices that operate in the green spectral range. Furthermore, CdZnTe layers have emerged as excellent candidates for possible fabrication of ferroelectric non-volatile flash memory. In this study, we investigated the optical properties of CdZnTe/ZnTe QDs on Si substrate grown using molecular beam epitaxy. Time-resolved and temperature-dependent PL measurements were carried out in order to investigate the temperature-dependent carrier dynamics and the activation energy of CdZnTe/ZnTe QDs on Si substrate.
The reflection spectrum of a $2H-PbI_2$ single crystal grown by vapour phase method were measured at 10 K near the fundamental absorption edge. The n= 1,2,3 Wannier exciton series and $A_{EP}$ reflection line were obtained from the reflection spectrum. Based on the 2nd phonon energy in the Raman spectrum, which is different from Nagamune's report, we suggest that $A_{EP}$ line is due to the bound state between the n=2 exciton and the 2nd phonon which surmise that this is LO phnon due to the second Raman process. The L-T splitting energy of n=1 exciton line was 6.56 meV and was consistent with the emission spectrum. The temperature dependence of the reflection spectrum showed that n=1 exciton peak was shifted to longer wavelength while, as the temperatre is raised, the sharpness of that with the increase of the L-T splitting energy decrease. From Wannier exiton series, the exciton binding energy and exciton radius was 30 meV and 14$\AA$, respectively.

The human have constantly pursued the beauty through the history. Especially, the pursuit for the beauty of the human's body means that the subject is at one with the object pursued by Ire subject, which so called as the most active behavior of searching far the beauty. However it sometimes shows that human have tried excessively to search for the beauty of the human's ideal body in the history, and to the degree of hurting the body. For example, the corset was eagerly worn by women with the hope of a satisfied silhouette because the slender waist and the busty bosom were demanded as the woman's ideal body at 18C and 19C(the age of Victorian). The purpose of this study was to investigate the corset fashion in 18C, 19C, one of the most aggressive fashions out of the unreasonable fads, using narcissism that Freud mentioned as inside energy called libido. And the reason why to use the theory of narcissism in this study was that fashion as social outcome is thought to be influenced by the environment but the wearing behavior is considered totally private, it is particularly when focused on the excess ive energy, and the scope was limited to the investigation into the source of the energy binding the own body to hurting. The analysis about this craze of a corset with the view of the theory of narcissism as follows. First, women could mold the ideal concretely in surroundings that ideal woman was constituted just to focus on the appearance, moreover, the mother reinforced the narcissism of their offsprings. Also, the society demanded women to be chaste, and did not allowed for women to reveal libido to the external. As a result of this, libido should be ended up concentrating on ego. With this process, it to be difficult for 'ideal ego' impossible for attainment to transfer to compromising product, ego ideal. That is, women did not think entirely to be out of the question to reach the ideal ego, which meant the energy to tight waists was given women.
Strontium selective chromatographic material $(Sr-Spec^{TM})$ was investigated for separation of radiostrontium from environmental soil and water sample. This chromatographic material has great capacity of binding of strontium ion in nitric acid media, and has selectivity to permit the separation of stontium from bulk amount of calcium. But the extraction of strontium was reduced by the other interfering ions such as K and Ba. So, in order to apply this material to the soil sample, prior removal treatment of K and Ba was needed. But the Sr-Spec material could provides simple and effective methods for the separation and removal of radiostrontium from liquid sample.

The stochiometric composition of AgGaS$_2$ polycrystal source materials for the AgGaS$_2$/GaAs epilayer was prepared from horizontal furnace. From the extrapolation method of X-ray diffraction patterns it was found that the polycrystal AgGaS$_2$ has tetragonal structure of which lattice constant a$\sub$0/ and c$\sub$0/ were 5.756 ${\AA}$ and 10.305 ${\AA}$, respectively. AgGaS$_2$/GaAs epilayer was deposited on throughly etched GaAs(100) substrate from mixed crystal AgGaS$_2$ by the Hot Wall Epitaxy (100) system. The source and substrate temperature were 590$^{\circ}C$ and 440$^{\circ}C$ respectively. The crystallinity of the grown AgGaS$_2$/GaAs epilayer was investigated by the DCRC (double crystal X-ray diffraction rocking curve). The optical energy gaps were found to be 2.61 eV for AgGaS$_2$/GaAs epilayer at room temperature. The temperature dependence of the photocurrent peak energy is well explained by the Varshni equation, then the constants in the Varshni equation are given by ${\alpha}$ : 8.695${\times}$10$\^$-4/ eV/K, and ${\beta}$ = 332 K. From the photocurrent spectra by illumination of polarized light of the AgGaS$_2$/GaAs epilayer, we have found that crystal field splitting ΔCr was 0.28 eV at 20 K. From the PL spectra at 20 K, the peaks corresponding to free and bound excitons and a broad emission band due to D-A pain are identified. The binding energy of the free excitons are determined to be 0.2676 eV and 0.2430 eV and the dissociation energy of the bound excitons to be 0.4695 eV.

Mangostenone F (MF) is a natural xanthone isolated from Garcinia mangostana. However, little is known about the biological activities of MF. This study was designed to investigate the anti-inflammatory effect and underlying molecular mechanisms of MF in lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-stimulated RAW264.7 macrophages. MF dose-dependently inhibited the production of NO, iNOS, and pro-inflammatory cytokines (TNF-${\alpha}$, IL-6, and IL-$1{\beta}$) in LPS-stimulated RAW264.7 macrophages. Moreover, MF decreased the NF-${\kappa}B$ luciferase activity and NF-${\kappa}B$ DNA binding capacity in LPS-stimulated RAW264.7 macrophages. Furthermore, MF suppressed the NF-${\kappa}B$ activation by inhibiting the degradation of $I{\kappa}B{\alpha}$ and nuclear translocation of p65 subunit of NF-${\kappa}B$. In addition, MF attenuated the AP-1 luciferase activity and phosphorylation of ERK, JNK, and p38 MAP kinases. Taken together, these results suggest that the anti-inflammatory effect of MF is associated with the suppression of NO production and iNOS expression through the down-regulation of NF-${\kappa}B$ activation and MAPK signaling pathway in LPS-stimulated RAW264.7 macrophages.
