Performance Validation of Five Direct/Diffuse Decomposition Models Using Measured Direct Normal Insolation of Seoul (서울지역 실측일사량을 이용한 일사량 직산분리 모델의 정밀성 검증 연구)

  • Five direct/diffuse decomposition models were validated using the eight years data set of direct normal beam insolation measured in Seoul. The comparison has been performed In terms of the widely used statistical indicators such as MBE, RMSE, CV(RMSE), t-Statistic and Degree of Agreement. Result indicates that most of the correlations exhibit a tendency to underestimate the direct normal beam insolation except Bouguer's model. Most of big discrepancies between the measured and the predicted values was mainly shown in near the sunrising and the sunset period. Even though the investigated five models showed fairly large disagreement for the measured values by 34%$\sim$48% of CV(RMSE), Udagawa's correlation which includes the effect of solar altitude variation appears to performs always better in every statistical error tests.

  • 관상학이란 사람의 인상을 관찰하여서 사람의 운명을 판단하고, 그 얻어진 결론을 가지고 길흉의 방법을 구하는 학문이라고 할 수 있다. 사람은 누구나 다른 사람을 볼 때 그 사람의 아름다움이나 추함보다는 인상이 눈에 먼저 들어오는 것은 당연하다고 할 수 있다. 그 얼굴에 인상이 뚜렷하게 나타나는 곳 중 제일은 인당 일 것이다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 외모만으로 성격을 판별하거나 몸매 혹은 얼굴생김에서 직관적 인지를 얻어내는 관상학을 통해 인당의 크기에 따른 성격을 영상 처리 기술로 구현하였다. 즉, 인당은 눈썹과 눈썹사이의 가운데 부분을 말하며, 미간이라고도 부른다. 이와 같은 인당의 크기에 따라 성격의 주요 5대 특징과의 상관성 분석을 통해 눈썹에 따른 성격의 차이를 분석하는 연구를 수행하였다.

Fish Community and Stream Health Assessment in Lake Chungju and its Tributaries (충주호의 어류상과 유입하천의 생태건강성 평가)

  • The fish community within the lake and 5 tributaries of Lake Chungju in spring and autumn, 2009 was surveyed. In this study, the total 128,506 individuals were collected belonging to 11 families 29 genera 34 species. The most dominant species was Squalidus japonicus coreanus that account for 91.6% of population and 49% of biomass of fish community. In the point of population, dominant species were small-sized species, which became the prey of big-sized predatory species. In the point of biomass, dominant species were predatory species which were large-sized. The most dominant species in lacustrine area was S. japonicus coreanus which accounted for 92.2% of total population and 49.1% of total biomass. The most dominant species of tributary streams was Tridentiger brevispinis which accounted for 66.4% of total population and 55.1% of total biomass. The site of C3 in lacustrine area and Dongdal-cheon in tributary streams collected the most number of species. Through ecological health evaluation of five tributary streams using 8 metric index of biological integrity (IBI) model, two streams (Dongdal-cheon, Kwang-cheon were evaluated as, "B", "good" condition, and Jangsung-cheon obtained grade C indicating "Fair" condition, Jecheon-cheon obtained grade D indicating "Poor" condition based on IBI model. Lepomis macrochirus which was designated as a domestic ecosystem-disturbing alien species with wide food niche have shown tendency to increase the number of individuals since 1991 indicating the adverse effect on not only fish community but also aquatic ecosystem food web of Lake Chungju.

Formation of A Phonetic-Value Look-up Table for Korean Voice Synthesis (한국어 음성 합성을 위한 음가 변환 테이블 생성)

  • In order to synthesize grammatically correct Korean voices, we have to refer to the 'Standard Pronunciation Rules(SPR)' stated in the 'Standard Grammar of Korean Language.' Therefore, the rules that is used for a Korean-voice-synthesis system to find Korean voices corresponding to a given Korean sentence must completely reflect the SPR and must be sound. However, in the field of computer science they have just used the SPR without proving the completeness and soundness of their rules. In this paper, we construct a Petri net model for each rule of SPR, integrate all the Petri net models to build one big Petri net completely representing SPR, and analyse the Petri net to prove the consistency of it. Then, we transfer the Petri net model into a look-up table for Korean voice. Using this table, we can avoid the drawbacks of existing approaches such as going through several stages or repetitively applying a converting process.

Effects of Spatial Accessibility on the Number of Outpatient Visits for an Internal Medicine of a Hospital (공간적 접근성이 내과환자의 내원일수에 미치는 영향 분석: 대도시 일개 병원을 대상으로)

  • Background: This study purposed to analyze and understand how spatial accessibility of patients influenced the number of outpatient visits for the internal medicine of a hospital. Methods: A hospital with 100 beds in Seoul, South Korea provided data from 2013 January 1 to 2013 June 30. Euclidean distance and road ares were used to represent the spatial accessibility. Patient level data and dong level data were collected and used in spatial analysis. Dong level data was converted into grid level ($500{\times}500m$) for the multivariate analysis. Hot-spot analysis and generalized linear model were applied to the data collected. Results: Hot-spots of outpatient visits were found around the study hospital, and cold-spots were not found. Number of outpatient visits was varied by the distance between patient resident and hospitals, and about 80% of total outpatient visits was occurred in within the 5 km from study hospital, and 50% was occurred in within 1.6 km. Spatial accessibility had significant influences on the outpatient visits. Conclusion: Findings provide evidences that spatial accessibility had influences on the patients' behaviors in utilizing the outpatient care of internal medicine in a hospital. Results can provide useful information to health policy makers as well as hospital managers for their decision making.

Cases Study of Accidents in High Risk Organizations by System Dynamics (시스템 다이내믹스 기법을 활용한 고위험 조직 사고 사례 분석)

  • The importance of the concept of safety culture has increased in the security of high-risk facility after Chernobyl accident in 1986. This paper elaborated the concept of safety culture and its main factors by Causal Loop Diagram. Due to the decline of safety culture, the occurrence of incidents and accidents require more and more corrective actions to the members of high-risk facilities and thereby increasing their workloads. Employees who must complete the task within the given time have to have time pressures and don't comply with the rules and procedures. Also, a schedule pressure is a big stress for employees, causing mistakes in precision work. In order to improve these problems, CLD of the safety culture in this paper suggests hiring more workers, re-allocation of given workloads and strengthen the learning, communication capabilities and safety leadership. In addition, the two real accident cases were analyzed to test the feasibility of the System Dynamic simulation model through the process of structuring the fault trees on the stationary black out accident in Kori unit 1 in South Korea and Kleen Energy power station explosion in US. The simulation results show that the various safety factors cause the serious accident combined with mechanical failure and safety culture will reduce the possibility of the accidents in these high-risk organizations. This simulation model can contribute to analyzing the impact of the organizational and human factors of safety culture and can provide the alternatives in high-risk facilities.

CAPABILITY OF THE FAST IMAGING SOLAR SPECTROGRAPH ON NST/BBSO FOR OBSERVING FILAMENTS/PROMINENCES AT THE SPECTRAL LINES Hα, Ca II 8542, AND Ca II K

  • Spectral line profiles of filaments/prominences to be observed by the Fast Imaging Solar Spectrograph (FISS) are studied. The main spectral lines of interests are $H{\alpha}$, Ca II 8542, and Ca II K. FISS has a high spectral resolving power of $2{\times}10^5$, and supports simultaneous dual-band recording. This instrument will be installed at the 1.6m New Solar Telescope (NST) of Big Bear Solar Observatory, which has a high spatial resolution of 0.065" at 500nm. Adopting the cloud model of radiative transfer and using the model parameters inferred from pre-existing observations, we have simulated a set of spectral profiles of the lines that are emitted by a filament on the disk or a prominence at the limb. Taking into account the parameters of the instrument, we have estimated the photon count to be recorded by the CCD cameras, the signal-to-noise ratios, and so on. We have also found that FISS is suitable for the study of multi-velocity threads in filaments if the spectral profiles of Ca II lines are recorded together with $H{\alpha}$ lines.

Data Literacy Education in Design Curriculum of Higher Education Focused on Development of Design-Data Convergence Curriculum (디자인 교과과정에서의 데이터 문해력 교육에 관한 연구 -디자인-데이터 융합 교과 개발 사례를 중심으로)

  • This study explores convergence curriculum for design and data science, and applies data science knowledge on undergraduate design classes for designer's data literacy. First, related studies about data literacy education for non-data science major's, and data driven design project cases are explored, then design competency and data competency based on NCS are studied. Then this study developed 3 step design-data convergence curriculum model for designers' data literacy. The curriculum model is applied on case study classes, which are Big data and UX design(2) classes. The learning results and student's feedback of the case study classes are collected and analyzed to prove the design-data convergence curriculum, and the results provide findings and implications of the design-data convergence class case study.

A model of Isolated Renal Hemoperfusion (허혈/재관류 손상연구를 위한 체외 신장 재관류 모델)

  • Ischemia-reperfusion (I/R) injury is associated with an increased risk of acute rejection, delayed graft function and long-term changes after kidney transplantation. The reperfusion models remain unsolved complications such as vascular obstruction and blood leakage. We developed an alternative model of isolated hemoperfusion in porcine kidneys. In the present study we introduced a newly developed reperfusion method. A connector was used instead of surgical suture for the vascular anastomosis on the inguinal region in which main femoral vessels are parallel and big enough to perfuse the kidney. To assess renal perfusion quality of the modified hemoreperfusion model, we analyzed both hemodynamic values and patterns of I/R injury following a renal reperfusion. Following unilateral nephrectomy, the kidneys were preserved for 0, 24 and 48 hours at $4^{\circ}C$ with histidine-tryptophan ketogluatarate (HTK) solution and reperfused for 3 hours by vascular anastomosis connected to the femoral artery and vein in inguinal region. Histolopathological examinations were assessed on kidney biopsy specimens, taken after each cold storage and reperfusion. No differences of hemodynamic values were observed between aorta and femoral artery. The average warm ischemia time before reperfusion start was $7.0{\pm}1.1$ minutes. There were no complications including vascular obstruction and blood leakage during the reperfusion. I/R injury of the perfused kidneys in this model was dependent upon the cold ischemia time. The results support that the modified perfusion model is simple and appropriate for the study of early renal I/R injury and transplant immunology.

Deep Learning-based Stock Price Prediction Using Limit Order Books and News Headlines (호가창과 뉴스 헤드라인을 이용한 딥러닝 기반 주가 변동 예측 기법)

  • Recently, various studies have been conducted on stock price prediction using machine learning and deep learning techniques. Among these studies, the latest studies have attempted to predict stock prices using limit order books, which contain buy and sell order information of stocks. However, most of the studies using limit order books consider only the trend of limit order books over the most recent period of a specified length, and few studies consider both the medium and short term trends of limit order books. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a deep learning-based prediction model that predicts stock price more accurately by considering both the medium and short term trends of limit order books. Moreover, the proposed model considers news headlines during the same period to reflect the qualitative status of the company in the stock price prediction. The proposed model extracts the features of changes in limit order books with CNNs and the features of news headlines using Word2vec, and combines these information to predict whether a particular company's stock will rise or fall the next day. We conducted experiments to predict the daily stock price fluctuations of five stocks (Amazon, Apple, Facebook, Google, Tesla) with the proposed model using the real NASDAQ limit order book data and news headline data, and the proposed model improved the accuracy by up to 17.66%p and the average by 14.47%p on average. In addition, we conducted a simulated investment with the proposed model and earned a minimum of $492.46 and a maximum of $2,840.93 depending on the stock for 21 business days.
