The Effect of Relatively Low Lead Contents on the Phase Formation and Jc values of Bi-2223/Ag Tapes

  • The effects of relatively low lead content (0.2~0.3) on the 2223 phase formation and transport property of Bi-2223/Ag tapes have been investigated. The results show that lead contents have great impact on the phase assemblage of precursors, subsequently, on the phase formation and transport property of silver sheathed BSCCO-2223 tapes. Powders containing Pb=0.25 and Pb=0.3 resulted in the nearly identical $J_c$ values in fully processed tapes, but leaded to significant difference on the phase formation process. For the case of Pb=0.2, both low conversion fraction of 2212 to 2223 and low $J_c$ value were obtained in final reacted tape, which was probably due to lack of enough liquid phase to facilitate the phase transformation.

Mg가 혼합된 Bi(Pb)SrCaCuO(110 K 상) 고온초전도체의 미세구조에 따른 초전도 특성 변화에 대한 연구 (Superconducting Properties of the Mg-Bi(Pb)SrCaCuO (110 K Phase) Composite System focusing on the Microstructure)

  • 110 K 상의 산화물 고온초전도체를 B $i_{1.84}$P $b_{0.34}$S $r_{1.91}$C $a_{2.03}$C $u_{3.06}$ $O_{10+}$$\delta$의 출발조성비로 고상반응법에 의해 합성하였다. 합성된 Bi계 110 K 상의 산화물 고온초전도 물질을 다시 분말 상태로 만든 후, MgO 금속산화물 분말을 5~50 wt%의 각 비율로 혼합하였다. MgO 금속산화물 분말이 혼합된 시편들을 820~86$0^{\circ}C$로 24시간동안 최종 소결시켰다. 그 후, 각 시편들에 대하여 x-선, $T_{c}$, SEM 등을 측정하여 MgO 금속산화물 혼합량에 대한 초전도특성 및 표면의 입자 크기 변화 등에 대한 조사를 진행하였다. MgO 금속산화물의 혼합량이 증가됨에 따라 MgO 관련 피크들의 강도 및 2212 상들의 피크들의 비율은 증가되었고, 시편 내 2223 상의 비율은 감소하고 2212상의 비율은 증가되었다.다.은 증가되었다.다.

  • BSCCO thin films fabricated by using the evaporation method. As a result, although the composition of Bi2212 was set up, the phase of Bi2201, Bi2212 and Bi2223 was formed. The formation area of these stable phases is indicated as inclined line in the direction of the right lower end from the Arrhenius plot of the substrate temperature-oxidation gas pressure, and are distributed in very small area. The activation energy for the phase transformation from the Bi2201 to the Bi2212 is estimated in terms of the Avrami equation.

  • We carried out the experiments for fabricating $Bi_{2}Sr_{2}Ca_{2}Cu_{3}O_{x}$(Bi2223) superconductor thick films on Cu tapes. Cu-free (Bi,Pb)-Sr-Ca-0 powder mixtures were screen- printed on Cu tapes and heat-treated at 840-$860^{\circ}C$ for several minutes in air. Surface microstructures and phases of films were analyzed by XRD and optical microscope. The electric properties of superconducting films were examined by the four probe method. At heat-treatment temperature, the printing layers were in a partially molten state by liquid reaction between CuO in the oxidized copper tape and the precursors which were printed on Cu tapes. During the heat-treatment procedure, it is thought that Bi2223 superconducting particles nucleate at interfaces between Bi2212 phase and liquid.

  • High quality BSCCO thin films have been fabricated by means of an ion beam sputtering at various substrate temperatures, T$\sub$sub/, and ozone gas pressures, pO$_3$. The correlation diagrams of the BSCCOphases with T$\sub$sub/ and pO$_3$ are established in the 2212 and 2223 phases come out as stable phases depending on T$\sub$sub/ and pO$_3$. From these results, the thermodynamic evaluation of ΔH and ΔS, which are related with Gibbs\` free energy change for single Bi2212 or Bi2223 phase, were performed.

  • 110K상의 산화물 고온초전도체를 B $i_{1.84}$P $b_{0.34}$S $r_{1.91}$C $a_{2.03}$C $u_{3.06}$ $O_{10+}$$\delta$/의 출발조성비로 고상반응법(solid-state reaction)에 의해 합성하였다. 이렇게 합성된 Bi계 110K상의 산화물 고온초전도 물질을 다시 분말 상태로 만든 후, Ag 금속분말을 10wt%, 30wt%, 50wt%의 각 비율로 혼합하였다. Ag 금속분말이 혼합된 시편들을 86$0^{\circ}C$~875$^{\circ}C$로 24시간 동안 최종 소결시켰다. 그후, 각 시편들에 대하여 x-선, $T_{c}$, SEM 등을 측정하여 Ag 혼합량에 대한 초전도특성 및 표면의 grain 크기변화 등에 대한 조사를 진행하였다. Ag 혼합량이 증가됨에 따라 Ag peak의 강도는 증가되었고, 시편 내 2223 상의 비율은 감소하고 2212상의 비율은 증가되었다.비율은 증가되었다.

  • BiSrCaCuO superconducting thin films have been fabricated by co-deposition using the faraday cup. Despite setting the composition of thin film Bi2212, Bi(2201, 2212, 2223) phase were appeared. It was confirmed the obtained field of stabilizing phase was represented in the diagonal direction of the right below end in the Arrhenius plot of temperature of the substrate and $PO_3$, and it was distributed in the rezone.

  • Samples with the nominal composition, B $i_{1.84}$P $b_{0.34}$S $r_{1.91}$C $a_{2.03}$C $u_{3.06}$ $O_{10+{\delta}}$ high- $T_{c}$ superconductors containing MgO as an additive were fabricated by a solid-state reaction method. Samples with MgO of 5~30 wt% each were sintered at 820~86$0^{\circ}C$ for 24 hours. The structural characteristics, critical temperature, grain size and image of mapping with respect to MgO contents were analyzed by XRD(X-Ray Diffraction), SEM(Scanning Electron Microscope) and EDS(Energy dispersive X-ray spectrometer) respectively. As MgO contents increased, intensity of MgO Peaks and ratio of Bi-2212 phase in superconductors intensified and the proportion of the phase transition from Bi-2223 to Bi-2212 was increased.

  • 단일상을 갖는 $Bi_2S_2CaCu_2O_{8+x}$ (2212)의 x-ray 분말 pattern을 a=5.408, c=30.83 $\AA$의 격자상수 및 역격자 벡터 $q^*=0.211b^*-c^*$을 갖는 pseudo tetragonal subcell을 이용하여 모두 index하였다. 임계온도 110K를 갖는 $Bi_2S_2CaCu_2O_{10+x}$ 상은 incommensurate supercell에 속하는 매우 많은 x-ray분말선들을 가지고 있다. Indixing guide로 전자회절사진(electron diffraction photographs)을 이용 x-ray분말 pattern에 대한 지수결정방법을 얻었다.$Bi_2S_2CaCu_2O_{10+x}$(2223)의 단위세표(unit cell)는 기하학적으로 격자상수 a=5.411, b=5.420, c=37.29(2) A을 갖는 orthorhombic subcell이다. Supercell반사 지수들은 subcell의 파 벡터 $\pm q^*=0.211b^*-0.78c^*$을 갖는 k,1지수로부터 영향을 받은 것이다. b 방향으로의 inconnensurate성분 $\delta$는 두 상에 대해 다 같으나, 2212에서 2223 상으로의 변환에 따라 c 방향으로의 초격자성분(superlattic component)은 connensurate($\varepsilon$=1)로부터 incommensurate($\varepsilon$=0.78)로 변한다.
