  • This paper studies the magnetic coupling between two adjacent loop antennas that are parallel to each other in a plane and presents a new practical method to avoid the resulting magnetic coupling interference. The study focuses on the high frequency radio-frequency identification (RFID) system for casino applications, where several loop antennas are closely built into a game table to monitor gaming chips. In this case, neighboring loop antennas may severely interfere with each other by magnetic coupling, which leads to the malfunction of the RFID system. In this paper, we present a practical loop antenna with a new loop switch circuit for avoiding magnetic coupling. The loop switch circuit is integrated with a matching circuit and automatically operated by using an interrogating signal from a reader. We verified the validity of the proposed design by showing that an RFID reader with the proposed antenna can exactly and separately read the gaming chips placed on the different betting zones of a game table.

  • In this Paper, it has a proposal of the RFID(RFID : Radio Frequency Identification) system for high-speed recognition between the tag attached a mobile object moving high-speed and the static reader. It used 13.56MHz frequency at ISM band, and designed a reader in order to recognize a mobile object moving high-speed. It will be expected that RFID system enables a smooth railway signal control applying in railway system through the cyclic loop antenna.

  • This paper presents the design and analysis of LNA-Mixer for 2.45GHz RFID reader. The LNA is implemented by PCSNIM method for low power consumption. The Mixer is implemented by using the Gilbert-type configuration, current bleeding technique, and the resonating technique for the tail capacitance. The connection between the two designed circuits is made by active balun. This LNA-Mixer has about 35dB for -40dBm input RF power, LO power is 0dBm and RF frequency is 2.45 GHz and IIP3 is -4dBm. The layout of LNA-Mixer for one-chip design in a $0.18-{\mu}m$ TSMC process has 2.6mm ${\times}$ 1.3mm size.

  • An active Balun is designed for RFID reader at 2.45GHz. The Balun is integrated inside the receiver, then the LNA and mixer can be connected. The unbalanced LNA output signal is transformed to a balanced signal at the input mixer The RF mixer and LO mixer, by using this balun. The Balun provided a balanced signal with two output stage, gain mismatch is 0.116dB. The phase show a good behavior with $163.918^{\circ}$,$-16.609^{\circ}$. The phase mismatch is about $0.527^{\circ}$. The tight difference between the gain and phase on each brancd, is because of the used capacitor and integrated inductor and the other parasitic element inside the balun.

  • In this paper, a size-reduction technique is presented for the RFID reader antenna working at two UHF bands. To tackle the problem of size increase in multi-band applications, two resonance paths are made to occur in one geometry with a single feed. While one resonance path is combined with the other, the entire geometry is determined to guarantee the resonance at the target frequencies through the dual-band input impedance matching. The antenna performance is predicted by the full-wave simulation, and the design method is verified by observing the good agreement between the simulated and measured results. At the two frequencies, the satisfactory return loss as well as the antenna efficiency and peak gain of the far-field pattern is obtained.

  • This study looked at various definitions of reading and examined multiple aspects of reading from the perspective of related disciplines. The study also attempted to isolate specific factors of reading-author, reader, text, and context-and investigated the nature of each factor. The study focused on the communicational aspect of reading, especially on the interaction between the reader and the context.

  • This paper extends Diameter AAA Protocol to provide secure communication channels between Mobile RFID Service Components and distinct service based on user's QoS level authorization. This paper supposes 900MHz, which is the target RF for Mobile RFID Forum and supposes RFID phone, which equitted with RFID reader. By using extended Diameter AAA server, user is authenticated, authorized and provided dynamic security associations between Mobile RFID Service components. The types of security associations are as followings:between RFID tag and RFID reader, between RFID reader(phone) and MobileRFID Service Agent, between phone and OIS, between phone and OTS and between phone and Accounting/Financial server.

  • In an RFID system, it is desirable to have both the reader and the transponder tuned to the same resonant frequency for efficient data transmission between them. Any difference in frequency will decrease the transponder coil voltage or the internal power supply voltage and will increase the possibility of zero modulation in the reader coil, which results in the reduction of the reading distance. In this paper, the phenomena caused by the frequency mismatch are theoretically analyzed and mathematically modelled. Several schemes to compensate for the frequency mismatch are also mentioned. The derived equations and analyzed theory on the data transmission between the reader and the transponder will be helpful to the development of RFID systems for many applications.

  • As RFID technology is developing and increasingly being used in many applications, the implementation is changing from single reader to multiple readers even dense readers. Since the number of readers is increasing, there are more collisions between readers and much interference between readers and tags. Therefore, to avoid interference or collision, many algorithms have being proposed, such as Gen2 dense mode, LBT(listen before talk), TDMA based method. In this paper, we propose a null frame algorithm, which calculates the collision probability in frame slotted aloha scheme and use this information to avoid the possible collisions. Comparing with conventional scheme, our proposed algorithm has some advantages in terms of reader collision number and required frame numbers.

  • Mobile RFID system, that consists of the existing RFID reader mounted on the mobile devices such as smartphones, is able to provide the users a variety of services and convenience. But security of mobile RFID system is too weak like the existing RFID system. In this paper, the mobile RFID mutual authentication protocol with high level of security is proposed to overcome the troubles such as cryptographic protocols in the existing RFID system responding with the same value in every authentication procedure and the exposure in the exchange of messages. The proposed protocol exchanges messages unexposed by using the random numbers generated in the mutual authentication between the tag and the reader and making numbers coded with the symmetric key. Besides, the protocol uses the mutual authentication utilizing OTP by considering the characteristics of the reader embedded in mobile devices in the mutual authentication process between the reader and the server. Because changed message in every authentication, which produces safe from spoofing attacks and replay attacks, etc.
