BRCA1 is a tumor suppresser gene in familial cases of breast cancer. It has been controversial whether the subcellular localization of BRCA1 is located in nuclei or cytoplasm in normal human breast cells. We found that a p220 protein was expressed in Type II Normal human breast epithelial cells (NHBEC) but not in Type I NHBEC in Western blot analysis using the 17F8 (3A2) antibody. Immunostaining using the same antibody revealed positive staining in nuclei, cytoplasm and perinuclei of Type II cells and negative staining in Type I NHBEC. The p220 protein, however, was expressed in SV40 immortalized Type I NHBEC and tumorigenic cells derived from them after x-ray and neu oncogene treatment. The subcelluar localization was mostly cytoplasmic and punctate in the nuclei. The breast carcinoma cell lines, MCF-7 and T47D, also expressed the p220 protein. Using RT-PCR, we observed the expression of BRCA1 mRNA in both Type I and Type II NHBEC. This result indicated that there might be mechanisms involved in post-translational or translational regulation of BRCA1 gene. It is speculated that the absence of BRCA1 protein expression in Type I NHBEC might playa role in their susceptibility to neoplastic transformation.

We present a human infection with the canine whipworm, $Trichuris$$vulpis$, in a child suffering from rhinitis with a diagnosis of rhinitis. $T.$$vulpis$ eggs resemble those of $T.$$trichiura$ but they can be differentiated based on their morphological features and egg size, using micrometry with an ocular micrometer. $T.$$vulpis$ eggs measured an average of 90 ${\mu}m$ by 44 ${\mu}m$ (range 86-99 ${\mu}m$ by 38-47 ${\mu}m$). Prevalence of hookworms (28.1%), $Toxocara$$canis$ (11.8%), and $Trichuris$$vulpis$ (3.5%) was found in 292 fecal samples of dogs collected at the peri-domicile, which showed that the risk of infection was not only fortuitous. The treatment of canine whipworm infections is similar to that of $T.$$trichiura$ infection. We recommend differentiation of the 2 species for their epidemiological and prevention implications.
Background Reconstruction of orofacial soft tissue defects is often challenging due to functional and aesthetic demands. Despite advances in orofacial soft tissue defect reconstruction using free flaps, locoregional flaps still remain an important option, especially in health resource-depleted environments. This retrospective study highlights our experiences in oral and maxillofacial soft tissue reconstruction using locoregional flaps. Methods A twenty-three years retrospective analysis of all patients managed in our department was undertaken. Information was sourced from patients' case notes and operating theater records. Data was analyzed using SPSS ver. 16 (SPSS Inc.) and Microsoft Excel 2007 (Microsoft). Results A total of 77 patients underwent orofacial soft tissue defect reconstruction within the years reviewed. Males accounted for 55 (71.4%) cases and trauma was the main etiological factor in 45 (58.4%) of the patients treated. When sites of defect were considered, the lip, 27 (32.1%), was the most frequent site followed by the nose, 17 (20.2%). Forehead flap, 51 (59.3%), was the most commonly used flap. Complications noted were tumor recurrences at the recipient bed in 3 (3.9%) cases, tumor occurrence at the donor site in 1 (1.3%) case and postoperative infection in 11 (14.3%) cases. Conclusions Locoregional flaps still have an important role in the rehabilitation of patients with orofacial soft tissue defects. They remain a vital tool in the armamentarium of the reconstructive surgeon, especially in health resource-depleted environments where advanced reconstructive techniques may not be feasible.

The inauguration of the collective Reality and Utterance (Hy$\breve{o}$nsil kwa Par$\breve{o}$n) in 1979 and 1980 marked a watershed moment in Korean art. This is not only because the collective gave birth to the politically-engaged art movement that would come to be labeled "Minjung Art" by the middle of the 80s, but also because it enthusiastically embraced a wide range of images from the urban culture. With a special focus on the members' early work, my research explores an issue largely neglected in the dominant narrative of Minjung art as a form of activism against the authoritarian Korean government during the 80s. The issue is what was at stake in Reality and Utterance's exploration of contemporary urban visual culture. The aim of this essay is to recognize the engagement with the urban visual culture as central to the group's early project and to consider it at some distance from the anti-urban and anti-mass culture perspective which was endorsed by the Minjung narrative. Focusing on members' turn to urban visual culture, this essay instead argues that this turn was by no means merely a means to making art as social critique, but more importantly, it was an experiment with the shared image world, as opposed to the rarefied visual vocabularies of abstract modernism. Visual productions such as advertisements, billboards, posters, and kitsch paintings, which come from outside the narrow confines of fine art, were definitely ominous signs of the colonization of everyday life in the capitalist city, but at the same time they were anticipated to be a catalyst for redefining Korean art in a more communicative, accessible, and democratized way. In this regard, in the early 1980s-in particular 1980 and 1982-the members' gesture oscillated between critique and embrace, which allowed the group to occupy a unique domain in the realm of Korean art production.
This study recognizes the importance of the social network platform as a new fashion media, and analyzes the significance of various digital fashion images, based on the 'Aura' theory of Walter Benjamin. The concept of "Disappearance of Artistic Aura" can be summarized into three discussions: 1) the change in the way of artistic perception, which is changes in value from worship to exhibition. 2) the change in the way of artistic acceptance, from personal to mass. 3) the emergence of new artistic concepts such as camera and film. By reviewing characteristics of the $21^{st}$ digital replication era, the study tried to discover and evaluate the expanded significance of the 'Aura' represented on digital fashion images, which are infinitely generated, modified, reproduced, transmitted, and shared in social network environments. The 'Burberry Instagram' was chosen as the subject of the study. The study reviewed around 2,500 images, which were uploaded from February 2011 to July 2016, and selected 200 images deemed the most representative of Burberry, and categorized and analyzed by the extended concept of 'Aura'. The study results as follows: First, the 'Aura' in digital fashion image appearing on social network platforms signifies the expansion of product value in fashion, and it also represents inherited traditions and modernization of images. Second, it also signifies the democratization and globalization of fashion through the open replication and sharing as well as the interaction of criticism and acceptance. Third, it signifies the personalized taste and fashion as everyday lifestyle, through personalized services, securing playful space, and real-time updates.

Background The indications for surgical airway management in patients with Robin sequence (RS) and severe airway obstruction have not been well defined. While certain patients with RS clearly require surgical airway intervention and other patients just as clearly can be managed with conservative measures alone, a significant proportion of patients with RS present with a more confusing and ambiguous clinical course. The purpose of this study was to describe the clinical features and objective findings of patients with RS whose airways were successfully managed without surgical intervention. Methods The authors retrospectively reviewed the medical charts of infants with RS evaluated for potential surgical airway management between 1994 and 2014. Patients who were successfully managed without surgical intervention were included. Patient demographics, nutritional and respiratory status, laboratory values, and polysomnography (PSG) findings were recorded. Results Thirty-two infants met the inclusion criteria. The average hospital stay was 16.8 days (range, 5-70 days). Oxygen desaturation (<70% by pulse oximetry) occurred in the majority of patients and was managed with temporary oxygen supplementation by nasal cannula (59%) or endotracheal intubation (31%). Seventy-five percent of patients required a temporary nasogastric tube for nutritional support, and a gastrostomy tube placed was placed in 9%. All patients continued to gain weight following the implementation of these conservative measures. PSG data (n=26) demonstrated mild to moderate obstruction, a mean apneahypopnea index (AHI) of $19.2{\pm}5.3events/hour$, and an oxygen saturation level <90% during only 4% of the total sleep time. Conclusions Nonsurgical airway management was successful in patients who demonstrated consistent weight gain and mild to moderate obstruction on PSG, with a mean AHI of <20 events/hour.
The purpose of this study is to pronounce design trends in contemporary architecture collaborated with new media art concept. Currently, the prevalence of media presence has evolved perspectives on contemporary aesthetics today. To make clear demonstration on the issue, this study categorized new media art's expressional characteristics applied in the contemporary architectural design in conjunction with analytical researches on typologies and expressional characteristics appear in new media art. More specifically, the study selected architects who adopted new media art's expressional characteristics into their works from the year 2000 and performed analytical case studies with regard to the effect of the new media art into their architectural practices. By following methodologies mentioned above, conclusively the study categorized distinct expressional characteristics appears in contemporary architecture as a result of merging with new media art. The characteristics of the new media art appeared in contemporary architecture are categorized into three groups such as the design controlling external environment, the design utilizing web environment and the design participated by users. These observation could be translated that architects could present interactive design between users and building as a result from architect's capability of designing protocols which generate variable forms, colors and patterns in architecture. In particular, architecture utilizing web environment has characteristic capability of configurating user's program in virtual space. Also it is anticipated to suggest new patterns in generating architectural programs and forms. These patterns would not recognize the city merely as an incident or fragmented image but would configurate forms and images constructed by individual notional character. In conclusion, the architecture itself is expected to perform as media to open up opportunities that enables to contribute in expediting interactions among environment, users, and buildings by deviating from perspectives of representation as an object expressed in modernism architecture or as a classical decoration in post-modernism architecture in the past era.
A total of 45 scale insects belonging to 29 genera of five families were recognized on 15 kind of flowering plants on the basis of specimens collected in 2003 and specimens deposited in the Insect Collection of NIAST in Korea. Three species were recognized on Korean forsythia, four on chrysanthemum, 15 on common camellia, seven on kobus magnolia, three on rose of sharon, one on Indian lilac, six on rose, seven on rhododendrons, two on bamboo palm, three on benjamin tree, 12 on evergreen euonymus, five on Japanese yew, two on corn plant, six on orchids and two on cacti. Pulvinaria floccifera (Westwood) and Pseudaonidia paeoniae (Cockerell) on common camellia and Pulvinaria citricolar Kuwana on rose of sharon are reported for the first time from the Korean Peninsula.

The Horizon Run 4 is a cosmological N-body simulation designed for the study of coupled evolution between galaxies and large-scale structures of the Universe, and for the test of galaxy formation models. Using 63003 gravitating particles in a cubic box of Lbox = 3150 h−1Mpc, we build a dense forest of halo merger trees to trace the halo merger history with a halo mass resolution scale down to Ms = 2.7 × 1011h−1M⊙. We build a set of particle and halo data, which can serve as testbeds for comparison of cosmological models and gravitational theories with observations. We find that the FoF halo mass function shows a substantial deviation from the universal form with tangible redshift evolution of amplitude and shape. At higher redshifts, the amplitude of the mass function is lower, and the functional form is shifted toward larger values of ln(1/σ). We also find that the baryonic acoustic oscillation feature in the two-point correlation function of mock galaxies becomes broader with a peak position moving to smaller scales and the peak amplitude decreasing for increasing directional cosine μ compared to the linear predictions. From the halo merger trees built from halo data at 75 redshifts, we measure the half-mass epoch of halos and find that less massive halos tend to reach half of their current mass at higher redshifts.
