  • The purpose of this study is to evaluate naturalness of botanical garden pre- and post-assessed according to the Hemeroby Index in the case study of Daegok Botanical Garden. The results of the study are as follows. 1) The results of the site analysis according to the Hemeroby Index before development have been appeared that highest of poly/meta-hemeroby is 45.8% and the next of meso-hemeroby is 28.3%. 2) After development, the highest of meso-hemeroby is 53.6% and the next of $\alpha$ -euhemeroby is 28.3%. Generally, it is considered that the naturalness according to Hemeroby Indx was lasted higher after development than that before development. 3) Both a-hemeroby and oligo-hemeroby are not appeared before and after development. $\alpha$ -euhemeroby and meta-hemeroby are not appeared before development, but htey increased as much as 16.8% and 6.8% after development. Most of all, the increase of meta-hemeroby after development results from the increase of the artificial facilities (e.g. pavements, buildings and so on). 4) Specially, through the modification of play ground, park lot, pavement classified to meta-hemeroby, it is considered that the Hemeroby Index would be improved. 5) Compared with existing naturalness grade of green space, it has merits to apply Hemeroby Index, especially as a menas of distinguised naturalness assessment in various land use pattern. But there is no clear evidence that limits the minimum size that could be applied with Hemeroby Index. So, we must discuss whether it was useful to apply this standard to such a small specific space as the site of this study.

  • Community mental health management system emphasizing on the rehabilitation and the return to the community has been established and carried out for many years. The study has been demanded to prove that the decreasing rate of the recurrence of the mentally ill resulted to lower their medical costs, to enrich the quality of life, and to reduce the psychological burden of their family. This study tried to prove that the mental health services to the mentally ill which were registered in community mental health center of A city have an influence on the medical cost, the quality of their lives. the family burden. The subject group of this study were 39 home-based mentally ill patients and their 37 family members, totally 76 people registered in mental health center of A city and participated in its program. This research had been measured twice, the first before the intervention and the second after at least a year. The measuring tools in the research were the medical cost measurment tools developed by the researcher, the quality of life index by Yoo ja, Noh(1988) and the family burden by Montgonery(1985). The methods were modified and supplemented in this study. This research made use of SPSS Win 10.0. The results of this study are the same as followings. 1) There were the significant difference in the medical cost before and after the mental health service delivery. 2) The quality of lives of the mentally ill, after the mental health services delivered were significantly higher than before. 3) The family burden were significantly reduced after the delivery of community mental health services. Community mental health services brought out efficient results to the social return and rehabilitation. And these results means that the mentally ill changed highly the quality of life and their burden of family and medical cost were reduced. So the public organization and the private society should help positively the mentally ill and their family through mental health policy and social service agency to live healthy lives and to be valuable member of society.

  • Objectives : The purpose of this study was to assess the effect auricular acupuncture for acute mental stress using power spectrum analysis of the heart rate variability(HRV). Methods : 10 healthy volunteers participated in this study. After 5 minute rest, the first mental stress was provided for 5 minute. And then subjects rested for 15 minute. The second mental stress was provided for 5 minute. The acupoint, Shin-Mun point of the ear was stimulated for 15 minute. HRV was recorded before and after the first and second mental stress, and after auricular acupuncture stimulation. Results : After mental stress, normalized LF and LF/HF ratio is significantly increased. Before and after simple rest, normalized LF and normalized HF is significantly changed, but LF and LF/HF ratio is not significantly changed. On the other hand, before and after auricular acupuncture treatment, normalized LF, normalized HF is significantly changed, and also LF and LF/HF ratio is significantly decreased. Conclusion : The result suggest that auricular acupuncture can decrease more significantly in cardiac sympathetic activity due to mental stress than simple rest.

  • The objective of this study was to analyze the effects of non-offered meal on waste reduction in foodservice. To this end, the quantity of non-offered meal before and after Quality Improvement(QI) activity was analyzed, and employee satisfaction with foodservice was investigated. Statistical data analyses can be summarized as follows: The daily quantity of non-offered meal decreased significantly after QI(p<0.001)($27.80{\pm}3.14\;kg$ before QI and $7.22{\pm}4.17\;kg$ after QI). Among 7 items related to employee satisfaction, kindness of meal service staffs improved significantly after QI(p<0.05)($4.05{\pm}0.74$ before QI and $4.21{\pm}0.17$ after QI). No significant difference was found in the variety of menus, or cooking/seasoning of food, and there seemed to be greater satisfaction with taste of food after QI.

  • Objectives : The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of food intake on radial pulse amplitude. Methods : Thirty one healthy male subjects participated in this study. Radial pulse was measured using 3 dimensional pulse imaging system (DMP-3000) before, right after, 40 minutes after, 80 minutes after and 120 minutes after food intake. Results : 1. The amplitude of h1 increased significantly right after food intake compared to 'before food intake' at all 6 measuring points. Later on, it decreased back as time passed, however, even 120 minutes later, it was still higher than 'before food intake' 2. Pulse energy, which is calculated from pulse waves acquired with five sensors, increased after food intake as well. Conclusions : Food intake exerts an influence on radial pulse amplitude, resulting in increase of h1 and pulse energy.

  • This study is to examine how Korean speakers realize English stress on the homographic words. Experiments were performed by Korean speakers three times, before stress instruction, immediately after instruction, and six weeks after instruction. First, duration, fundamental frequency, and intensity of the vowel in a stressed syllable of three homographic words produced by Korean speakers were compared with those of native speakers of English. The result shows that when the words were used as nouns, before instruction Korean speakers had shorter duration and lower fundamental frequency in the stressed vowel than the native speakers, which indicates that Korean speakers did not assign the primary stress on the first syllable of the nouns. After instruction, the values of duration and fundamental frequency were increased and the differences between two groups were decreased. Next, the values of these stress features measured three times were analyzed in order to find out how they changed through instruction. The analysis shows that after instruction the values of three features were increased compared to the ones before instruction, and that the biggest change was in duration of the vowel and the next was fundamental frequency. Six weeks after instruction, the values of duration and intensity were decreased than those immediately after instruction. This means that instruction is helpful for Korean speakers to assign the stress for the English homographic words, and that instruction and practice are needed repeatedly.

  • In this paper, we study myoelectric signal variation through kyungrak needle stimulation. The signal are detected from two kyunrak route of arm; before and after stimulation of a needle, and before and after needle rotation. The detected signals are analyzed at frequency domain to search a characteristic parameters. At the rotation method, spectrum denity of the signals varies large but spectrum is not detected before and after rotation. We can not see any relation bet ween spectrum variation and rotational direction. As the results, when the same stimulation method is used at two different kyungrak route respectively, it is found that the variation of the myoelectric signal is not same.
