Purpose: The aim of this study was to evaluate changes in breast tumor bed volume during whole breast irradiation (WBI). Materials and Methods: From September 2011 to November 2012, thirty patients who underwent breast-conserving surgery (BCS) followed by WBI using computed tomography (CT) simulation were enrolled. Simulation CT scans were performed before WBI (CT1) and five weeks after the breast irradiation (CT2). The tumor bed was contoured based on surgical clips, seroma, and postoperative change. We retrospectively analyzed the factors associated with tumor bed volumetric change. Results: The median tumor bed volume on CT1 and CT2 was 29.72 and 28.6 mL, respectively. The tumor bed volume increased in 9 of 30 patients (30%) and decreased in 21 of 30 patients (70%). The median percent change in tumor bed volume between initial and boost CT was -5%. Seroma status (p = 0.010) was a significant factor in tumor bed volume reduction of 5% or greater. However, patient age, body mass index, palpability, T stage, axillary lymph node dissection, and tumor location were not significant factors for tumor bed volumetric change. Conclusion: In this study, volumetric change of tumor bed cavity was frequent. Patients with seroma after BCS had a significant volume reduction of 5% or greater in tumor bed during breast irradiation. Thus, resimulation using CT is indicated for exquisite boost treatment in breast cancer patients with seroma after surgery.

The concentration of organic compounds was analyzed at each step of BAC (biological activated carbon) process though BDOC (biodegradable dissolved organic carbon) total/rapid/slow. Further, bacteria communities and biomass concentrations measured DGGE (denaturing gradirnt gel electrophoresis) and ATP (adenosine triphosphate) methods were analyzed. The bed volume of steady state is different based on assessment of organic compounds removal. Bed volumes at steady state in DOC, $BDOC_{rapid}$ and $BDOC_{total/slow}$ removal were around 27,500, 15,000 and 32,000, respectively. A biomass didn't change after the bed volume reached 22,500 according to analyzing HPC (heterotrophic plate count) and ATP concentration of bacteria. The concentration of HPC and ATP were $3.3{\times}10^8$ cells/g and $2.14{\mu}g/g$, respectively. The number of the DGGE band were only 5 at the bed volume 8,916, but increased up to 11 at the bed volume 49,632. As operation time increase, bacterial group were more diversity. Four bacteria species including Pseudomonas fluorescens, the uncultured bacterium similar to Acinetobacteria, uncultured Novosphingobium sp. and Flavobacterium frigidarium have detected from the early stages and Proteobacteria group were dominantly detected.
Effect of organic loading rate on UASB performance was evaluated under the renditions of some surface area/reactor volume ratio and different reactor diameter. At the low leading rate of 0.4 kg $COD/m^3{\cdot}d$, reactor performance was not affected by reactor diameter. At the organic loading rate of 6 kg $COD/m^3{\cdot}d$, however, volatile acid accumulation and low COD removal efficiency is observed in reactor having 6.4 cm diameter, while volatile acid is not accumulated at all and high COD removal efficiency is observed in reactor having 3 cm diameter. Such a difference of reactor performance depending on reactor diameter can be explained that sludge bed can be fluidized by evolved gas bubble in narrow reactor, while sludge bed ran not be fluidized by evolved gas bubble only in wide reactor. At a high organic loading rate of 20 kg $COD/m^3{\cdot}d$, it can be judged that there is no relation between reactor configuration and reactor performance because all reactors showed very low COD removal efficiencies regardless of reactor diameter. Narrow and tall type reactor is favorable condition for making sludge bed fluidization at a constant surface area/reactor volume ratio. Thus, it can be judged that reactor configuration and sludge bed fluidization have great influence to reactor performance.
The concentration of organic compounds was analyzed at each step of BAC process though $BDOC_{total/rapid/slow}$. Further, bacteria communities and biomass concentrations measured FISH and ATP methods were analyzed. The bed volume (BV) of steady state is different from that of based on assessment of organic compounds removal. Bed volumes in DOC, $BDOC_{rapid}$ and $BDOC_{total/slow}$ removal at steady state were around 27,500 (185.8 day), 15,000 (101.4 day) and 32,000 (216.2 day), respectively. A biomass didn't change after the bed volume reached 22,500 (152.0 day) according to analyzing ATP concentration of bacteria. The concentration of ATP was 2.14 ${\mu}g/g$ in BV 22,500 (152.0 day). The total bacterial number was $4.01{\pm}0.4{\times}10^7$ cells/g at the bed volume 1,150 (7.8 day) (the initial operation) and the number of bacteria was $9.27{\pm}0.2{\times}10^9$ at the bed volume 58,560 395.7 day) that increased more than 200 times. Bacterial uptrend was reduced and bacterial communities were stabilized since BV 18,720 (126.5 day). When BV were 1,150 (7.8 day), 8,916 (60.2 day), 18,720 (126.5 day), 31,005 (209.5 day), 49,632 (335.3 day), 58,560 (395.7 day), a proportion of total bacteria for the Eubacteria were 60.1%, 66.0%, 78.4%, 82.0%, 81.3% respectively. ${\gamma}$-Proteobacteria group was the most population throughout the entire range. The correlation coefficient ($r^2$) between Eubacteria biomass and ATP concentration was 0.9448.
The purpose of this study is to induce user to use storage equipment as fixed storage space in urban housing. The object of investigation is limited to the resident of detached and apartment house in Daegu, analysised the problems and their attitueds of using storage equipments amount of cloths and bel-clothes. On the basis of these recommended the optimum volume of storage space for clothes and bed-clothes by family types. Applied to the standard of detached house, the optimum volume of storage space for clothes and bed-clothes in each rooms are as following. 1) The volume of master room is ranged 7.34M3 and 8.65M3 the average is 7.97M3. 2) Children's room is ranged 1.18M3 and 3.26M3, the average is 2.51M3 under number of users and their age. 3) The aged room is calculated average 6.53M3.
DFB (Divergence Form for Bed slope source term) was rigorously derived and the error of mDFB using mean water depth at the cell face in DFB was clearly demonstrated. In addition, DFB technique turned out to be an exact method to the bed slope source term. The existing volume/free-surface relationship to the PSC (Partially Submerged Cell) has been corrected. It was discussed that treatment for the partially submerged edge is required to satisfy the C-property in PSC. It is expected that this study will provides a more accurate means in analyzing the shallow water equations with the approximate Riemann solver.
Continuous adsorption and recovery characteristics for gold and lead-cyanide complexes in industrial wastewater were investigated by the Dowex 21K XLT resin. The Dowex 21K XLT resin could continuously remove over 95% for gold-cyanide complex until 520 bed volumes at the 0.5 mL/min of influent flow rate, however, could not remove lead-cyanide complex at all. The 96% of gold-cyanide complex adsorbed onto Dowex 21K XLT resin could be recovered by mixed solvent with HCl and acetone (7:3 ratio) within 8 bed volumes. Also, the bed volume for gold-cyanide complex using secondly reused Dowex 21K XLT resin was maintained as the 490, therefore, continuous process using Dowex 21K XLT resin can be sufficiently applied to the industrial wastewater containing gold ions.
The effects of the cation-to-anion resin ratio and bed depth on ion exchange performance of mixed-bed were studied at ultralow solution concentration. Breakthrough curves were experimentally obtained for NaCI solution as functions of resin ratio and bed depth. The bed depth affects the pattern of the sodium breakthrough curve but not the chloride breakthrough curve in beds because of the selectivity difference. Resin selectivity determines the shape of breakthrough curves, Some sodium and chloride breakthrough curves crossed at a point as a function of resin ratio. The lower cation-to-anion resin ratio showed the higher effluent concentration or treated volume of the crossover point regardless of the total resin weight.

This study is aimed to acquire the depth information and measure the water volume of reservoir using the robot-ship equipped with GPS and echosounder. Robot-ship is an automatic system for measuring exact depth and bed topography. According to field experiment results, measured water volume by the robot-ship data was not much exceeding 6.8% in comparison with existing water volume data, and it was guessed because of sediments of reservoir bottom. The robot-ship could be used to acquire economically and exactly the water depth and bed topography of reservoirs, dams, rivers and so on.
