Purpose : To generate the axial, coronal and sagittal images from conventional simulation images, as a preliminary study of broad-beam simulator CT. Methods and Materials : Volumetric filtered back-projection was performed using 90 sheets of films from conventional simulator for every $4^{\circ}$ gantry angle. Two mAs exposure condition for 120kvp beam qualify at SFD 140cm was given to each film. Outside the silhouette portion was removed and scatter component was deconvolved before back-projection. Results : The axial, the sagittal and the coronal images with same spatial resolutions over all direction could be obtained. But image quality was very poor. Conclusion : CT images could be obtained using broad-beam. Scatter deconvolution technique was effective for this reconstruction. The fact that same spatial resolutions over all direction tells us the possibility of application of this technique to DRR or Simulator-CT. But the quality of image should be improved for clinical application practically.

The Markus ionization chamber(R) is a small plane parallel ionization chamber widely used in clinical electron beam dosimetry. Plane parallel chambers were recommended for low energy electron dosimetry with the beam quality at $R_{50}<4.0g/cm^2$ (${\bar{E}}{\approx}10MeV$) according to TRS-398 protocol. However, the quality correction factors ($k_{Q,Q_0}$) of the Markus chamber was not presented in TRS-398 protocol for electron beam quality at $R_{50}<2.0g/cm^2$ (${\bar{E}}{\approx}4MeV$). In this study, the $k_{Q,Q_0}$ factors of the Markus chambers (PTW-34045) for beam qualities at $R_{50}=1.0$, 1.4, 2.0, 2.5, 3.0, and $5.0g/cm^2$ were determined by Monte Carlo calculations (DOSRZnrc/EGSnrc) and the dosimetric formalism of quality correction factor. The derived $k_{Q,Q_0}$ values were evaluated using the produced data based on TRS-398 and TG-51 protocols and known values for the Markus chamber.

According IEC 60601-1 ed3.1 and IEC 60601-2-45 regulation, diagnostic X-ray equipment should be display to measured and calculated air kerma area product. On the clinical X ray equipment, air kerma area product dosimeter would like to have an evidence for dosimeter accuracy and energy dependency. This study was performed to indirect calibration and energy dependency test for attached type air kerma area product (KAP) dosimeter by RQR standards beam quality. On the RQR5 beam quality, attached KAP dosimeter error showed -7.5%, respectably. On the RQR9 beam quality, attached KAP dosimeter error showed -10.4%, respectably. All RQR beam quality, average absolute error was $8.30%{\pm}2.85%$, respectably. On this study, attached KAP dosimeter was satisfied to IEC 60580 and AAPM TG 190. This calibration method of KAP dosimeter will help to performance maintain for clinical KAP dosimeter.
This test is for checking investigation about quality control of general X-ray system in clinic and hospital. We compared general X-ray system of clinic and hospital which are selected freely in the metropolitan area using PMX-III and carried out quality control. Carried out Kilovoltage test, mR/mAs output test, Light filed/Beam alignment test, Half value layer test. Most of test result are appeared that failure rates of clinic is higher than hospital one. Therefore, we should lower failure rates through regular quality control and make environment which can get high quality image.

Target design study to improve the quality of an accelerated proton beam from the interaction of a high-intensity short pulse laser with an overdense plasma slab has been accomplished by using a two-dimensional, fully electromagnetic and relativistic particle-in-cell (PIC) simulation. The target consists of a thin core part and a thick peripheral part of equivalent plasma densities, while the ratio of the radius of the core part to the laser spot size, and the position of the peripheral part relative to the fixed core part were varied. The positive effects of this core-peripheral target structure could be expected from the knowledge of the typical target normal sheath acceleration (TNSA) mechanism in a laser-plasma interaction, and were apparently evidenced from the comparison with the case of a conventional simple planar target and the case of the transversal size reduction of the simple planar target. Improvements of the beam qualities including the collimation, the forward directionality, and the beam divergence were verified by detailed analysis of relativistic momentum, angular directionality, and the spatial density map of the accelerated protons.
The review summarizes the published data on the widely applied electron-beam, laser-beam, as well as resistance upset, projection, and spot welding of zirconium alloys for nuclear applications. It provides the results of their analysis to identify common patterns in this area. Great attention has been paid to the quality requirements, the edge preparation, up-to-date equipment, process parameters, as well as post-weld treatment and processing. Also, quality control and weld repair methods have been mentioned. Finally, conclusions have been drawn about a significant gap between the capabilities of advanced welding equipment to control the microstructure and, accordingly, the properties of welded joints of the zirconium alloys and existing algorithms that enable to realize them in the nuclear industry. Considering the ever-increasing demands on the high-burnup accident tolerant nuclear fuel assemblies, great efforts should be focused on the improving the welding procedures by implementing predefined heat input cycles. However, a lot of research is required, since the number of possible combinations of the zirconium alloys, designs and dimensions of the joints dramatically exceeds the quantity of published results on the effect of the welding parameters on the properties of the welds.

The problems encountered by ultrasonic testing of austenitic stainless steel weld joints are discussed in the paper. Due to low thermal conductivity and the occurrence of single phase between the melting point and the room temperature, coarse and oriented grains are formed in such weld metals more in thick sections. This leads to higher scattering at the grain boundaries and low signal to noise ratio, and extensive beam skewing. Experimental results to understand these problem are explained.

A large diameter slot waveguide made backward wave oscillator is investigated experimentally. The parameters of slow wave structure are chosen so that the oscillation frequency is about 20 GHz. Plasma is produced by the beam and it has favorable effects on beam propagation and Cherncov oscillation. The output power strongly enhanced when the guiding magnetic field approaches to the fundamental electron cyclotron resonance.

In laser machining such as drilling with $CO_2$ or Nd:YAG laser, and etching or ablation with Excimer laser, one of the most important parameters affecting the machining is known to be beam characteristics. In this paper a numerical study is performed to investigate the effects of beam parameters, especially in the process of excimer laser ablation of polymers. Results of different beam conditions reveal that if the ablated depth is small compared to beam size the simple photochemical etching model is suitable to predict the etched shape, and that the importance of precise alignment becomes large as beam quality factor becomes larger.
