The original Bates-Watts framework applies only to the complete parameter vector. Thus, guidelines developed in that framework can be misleading when the adequacy of the linear approximation is very different for different subsets. The subset curvature measures appear to be reliable indicators of the adequacy of linear approximation for an arbitrary subset of parameters in nonlinear models. Given the specific mean shift outlier model, the standard approaches to obtaining test statistics for outliers are discussed. The accuracy of outlier tests is investigated using subset curvatures.

1996-1998년에 걸쳐 경기 수원, 경북 경산 및 제주에서 수행된 시험결과 우량품종으로 선발된 호밀 품종의 평균 생육특성, 건물수량 및 사료가치는 다음과 같았다. 월동률에 있어서는 대조품종인 Kodiak(91%)과 함께 선발된 품종들은 90-94%로 내한성이 비슷하였다. 숙기에 있어서는 만생종인 Kodiak을 제외하고는 선발된 다른 품종(Oklon 및 Bates)은 모두가 4월 8일에 출수가 시작되어 조생종으로 평가되었다.(중략)

Bates and Watts (1981) have discussed the problems of reparameterizing nonlinear models in obtaining accurate linear approximation confidence regions for the parameters. A similar problem exists with computing confidence curves for fitted values or predictions. The statistical behavior of fitted values does not depend on the parameterization. Thus, as long as the intrinsic curvature is small, standard Wald intervals for fitted values are likely to be sufficient. Accuracy of linear approximation for fitted values is investigated using confidence curves.

1984-1989년의 6년간 Blacklight trap에 유살된 성충수를 통하여 큰검정풍댐이와 참검정풍뎅이와 참검정풍뎅이 성충의 비상활동을 조사하였다. 큰검정풍뎅이 성충의 비상 활동은 주로 6월 하순-8월 상순에 이루어지고 7월 중순에 peak으며, 참검정풍뎅이 성충의 비상 활동은 주로 홀수년도의 5 월 상순-6월 하순에 이루어졌는데 peak의 시기는 해에 따라 일정치 않았다. 두 종의 비상 기간 중의 비상 활동은 모두 강우량이 많은 시기에 활발하였으며 참검정풍뎅이 월동 성충의 비상 활동은 일평균기온 $15^{\circ}C$ 이상 되면서 시작되는 것으로 보였다. Blacklight trap에 유살된 성충의 성비에 있어, 큰검정풍뎅이는 자충이 53.3%였으나 참검정풍뎅이는 야외 채집 성충의 57.4%가 자충이 었음에도 불구하고 자충이 전혀 없었다.

Herein, 20 species of the ground beetles are reported from Korea. Of these, 5 species, Bembidion serorum (Netolitzky, 1934), Bembidion gebleri nakanei (Jedlicka 1965), Mastax thermarum egorovi (Lafer 1973), Pterostichus jankowskyi (Tschischerine 1897) and Pterostichus longinquus Bates, 1873 are listed for the first time from the Korean Peninsula. Bembidion shimoyamai reported by Paik (1998) and Microlestes imaii reported by Paik and lung (2003) are misidentifications of Bembidion grapii and M. schroederi Holdhaus, respectively.

제주도에서 분포하는 딱정벌레과 20종을 보고한다. 이 중에서 Microlestes imaii (꼬마밑빠진먼지벌레: 신칭)와 Oodes vicarius(허벅호리병먼지벌레: 신칭)는 우리 나라에서, 그리고 9종, Apristus striatus (꼬마선두리먼지벌레), Bembidion amurense (오늬강변먼지벌레), Bembidion niloticum batesi (검은강변먼지벌레), Bembidion scopulinum (볕강먼지벌레), Chlaenius ocreatus (민무늬먼지벌레), Paratachys micros (어리애강변먼지벌레), Pterostichus prolongatus (참길쭉먼지벌레), Stenolophus castaneipennis (검종좁쌀먼지벌레)와 Trechus (Epaphius) dorsostriatus (등줄꼬마먼지벌레)는 제주도에서 처음으로 기록한다.

This paper describes current work regarding two EC funded projects, MUTED and HELIUM3D whose objective is to produce an autostereoscopic display system which is well suited to domestic television applications. Both of these projects have common roots in a previous EC funded project (ATTEST) and both employ laser illumination and viewer head tracking.

Yan & Hanson [8] and Makate & Sattayatham [6] extended Bates' model to the stochastic volatility model with jumps in both the stock price and the variance processes. As the solution processes of finding the characteristic function, they sought such a function f satisfying $$f({\ell},{\nu},t;k,T)=exp\;(g({\tau})+{\nu}h({\tau})+ix{\ell})$$. We add the term of order ${\nu}^{1/2}$ to the exponent in the above equation and seek the explicit solution of f.

Japanese does not exhibit deontic-epistemic polysemy which is recognized among typologically different languages. Hence, in Japanese linguistics, it has been debated which of the two types of modality is more prototypical. This study brings Chinese learner's acquisition data of Japanese modality to bear on the question of which of the two types of modality is more prototypical, using the Competition Model (Bates and MacWhinney 1981). The Competition Model notion of 'cues' as processing strategy adopted by learners reveals the continuity/discontinuity between these two modality domains.

Chlaenius is a large and diverse genus of ground beetle. This colorful beetle recognized from its pubescent elytra and pungent defensive secretions. Subgenus Pachydinodes belonging to the genus Chlaenius were reported eight species from Palaearctic, among them four species, Chlaenius (Pachydinodes) abstersus Bates, C. (P.) pictus Chaudoir, C. (P.) tetragonoderus Chaudoir, C. (P.) virgulifer Chaudoir were reported in Korea up to now. In here, Chlaenius hamifer Chaudoir are report firstly in Korea. Description and photo of adult and aedeagus are provided.
