A Chelating Resin Containing 2-(2-Thiazolylazo)-5-dimethylaminophenol as the Functional Group: Synthesis and Sorption Behavior for Some Trace Metal Ions

  • A new polystyrene-divinylbenzene resin containing 2-(2-thiazolylazo)-5-dimethylamino-phenol (TAM) functional groups has been synthesized and its sorption behavior for nineteen metal ions, including Zr(Ⅳ),Hf(Ⅳ) and U(Ⅵ) has been investigated by batch and column methods. The chelating resin showed high sorption affinity for Zr(Ⅳ) at pH 1-5 and U(Ⅵ) at pH 4. Some parameters affecting the sorption of the metal ions have been detailed. The breakthrough and overall capacities were measured under optimized conditions. The overall capacities of Zr(Ⅳ), Th(Ⅳ) and U(Ⅵ), which showed higher than the other metal ions, were 0.90,0.84 and 0.80 mmol/g, respectively. The elution order of metal ions at pH 4 was evaluated as Zr(Ⅳ) > Th(Ⅳ) > U(Ⅵ) > Cu(Ⅱ) > Hf(Ⅳ) > W(Ⅵ) > Mo(Ⅵ) > In(Ⅲ) > Sn(Ⅳ) > Cr(Ⅲ) > V(Ⅴ) > Fe(Ⅲ). Quantitative recovery of most metal ions except Zr(Ⅳ) was achieved using 2M HNO3. Desorption and recovery of Zr(Ⅳ) was successfully performed with 2 M HClO4 and 2 M HCl.

콘크리트의 피로균열 성장거동에 관한 연구 (A Study for the Fatigue Crack Growth Behavior of Concrete)

  • In this study, the wedge splitting test (WST) specimens with various strength levels were tested to investigate the fatigue crack growth behavior of concrete. Selected test variables were concrete compressive strength with 2 levels (28 MPa, 60 MPa, 100 MPa) and maximum fatigue loading with 2 levels (75%, 85%). Fatigue testing was preceded by fracture energy test and the crack growth was measured by means of the compliance calibration method, 60 WST specimens were cast for the fatigue test, and 6 companion cylinders ($\phi$100${\times}$ 200 mm) for each batch. In fatigue test, the frequency of loading cycle was 1 Hz, and the minimum fatigue loading level was 5~10 % of ultimate monotonic loading. On the basis of the experimental results, a fracture mechanics-based empirical relationships for fatigue crack growth rate (da/dN-$\Delta$KI relationships) were presented. In addition, the effect of initial notch depth on the fracture energy and the validity of compliance calibration technique for the WST were shown.

인상 육성한 $Bi_12GeO_20$ 결정내의 $Bi_4Ge_3O_12$석출상 (Exsolution of $Bi_4Ge_3O_12$ in $Bi_12GeO_20$ Crystals Grown by Pulling Method)

  • Various crystal defects such as voids, inclusions dislocations, stacking faults and precipitates were observed in the Czochralski-grown Bi12GeO20 crystals. Particularly, precipitates were found in the whole crystals. The phase of these precipitates was identified as Bi4Ge3O12 by EPMA and transmission electron microscopy. The precipitates were produced by pulling rapidly from a non-stoichiometric charge. During the pulling of Bi12GeO20 crystals, the melt composition of stoichiometric charge was changed Bi-deficent with gradual volatilization of Bi2O3. Precipition of the second phase may have been affected by an abrube thermal stress. By adding excess Bi2O3 into the stoichiometric batch, the precipitation of Bi4Ge3O12 was suppressed. At a pulling speed of 2 mm/hr, clear and precipitate from crystals of Bi12GeO20 were grown from the melt of the Bi2O3 excess charge.

  • Recently, various Ni doping systems and thermal annealing systems have been developed for fabrication of polycrystalline silicon film using SGS (super grain silicon) for medium and largesize AMOLED panels. In this study, we compare the potential of Ni doping systems including ALD (atomic layer deposition), AMD (atmospheric metal deposition), in-line sputter, and crystallization annealing systems including batch type furnace, inline furnace, and RTA (rapid thermal annealing) developed for the SGS method. Additional requirements for those systems to be used for mass production of large AMOLED TVs are suggested based on evaluation results for both poly-Si films and TFT backplanes.

  • In this paper, a method of designing the efficient batch blind equalization with low complexity using a micro genetic algorithm (GA), is presented. In general, the blind equalization techniques that are focused on the complexity reduction might be carried out with minor effect on the performance. Among the advanced various subjects in the field of GAs, a micro genetic algorithm is employed to identity the unknown channel impulse response in order to reduce the search space effectively. A new cost function with respect to the constant modulus criterion is suggested considering its relation to the Wiener criterion. We provide simulation results to show the superiority of the proposed techniques compared to other existing techniques.

  • Bare-chip packaging becomes more popular along with the miniaturization of IT components. In this paper, we have studied flip-chip process, and developed automated bonding system. Among the several bonding method, NCP bonding is chosen and batch-type equipment is manufactured. The dual optics and vision system aligns the chip with the substrate. The bonding head equipped with temperature and force controllers bonds the chip. The system can be easily modified fer other bonding methods such as ACF.

  • 한외여과막을 이용하여 알부민 용액을 회분식 혼합분리기에서 분리하는 현상들을 연구하였다. 본 연구는 작업시간과 작업압력에 따라 변하는 투과플럭스에 대한 것이다. 또한 실험은 pH 4.8에서 수행되었다. 알부민의 정량은 광학적으로 측정하였으며, Lowry법을 사용하였다. 본 연구 결과는 희박 알부민 용액의 한외여과는 작업시간에 따라 투과량 플럭스가 완만하게 감소되며, 제한된 사용압력에서 알부민 용액의 농도분극 현상은 자석교반에 의해 제기 되었다.

  • In a transfer line with mass production capability, calibration systems are included in the process as a separate dedicated station. However, this method is not appropriate in an unattended FMC with flexibility. As the FMC produces vesatile parts with small batch sizes, more flexible calibration systems are required. In this paper, a calibration/inspection system suitable for an unattended turning cell is introduced. The system has functions of dimensional calibration of parts by touch probes, tool wear compensation, and quality monitoring of parts. Furthermore, characteristics of errors in the system are identified and corresponding compensation methodology is suggested. An operation software is developed for efficient use of the system.

  • 분산 시스템 환경에서 여러 시스템에 정보를 전송하기 위한 방법으로 최근 EAI 의 DB Trigger 및 Redo Log 등을 이용한 실시간 데이터 통합 방식을 적용해 왔다. 그러나 기업에서 순차적인 배치 프로세스들을 통해 처리하는 대량의 데이터에 대해 기존의 EAI 의 데이터 통합 방식을 사용할 경우 모든 변경 건수에 대해 이벤트가 발생하여 Source 시스템의 부하 및 통합 성능상의 문제점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 순차적인 배치 프로세스들을 EAI 의 프로세스 레벨 통합을 적용하여 최종 변경된 데이터에 대해서만 통합하도록 하여 통합 처리 시간을 단축할 수 있는 방법을 제시하고자 한다.

무전해 니켈 도금법으로 제조된 니켈-다이아몬드 복합분체의 특성 (Characteristics of Nickel-Diamond Composite Powders by Electroless Nickel Plating)

  • Ni-diamond composite powders with nickel layer of round-top type on the surface of synthetic diamond (140/170 mesh) were prepared by the electroless plating method (EN) with semi-batch reactor. The effects of nickel concentration, feeding rates of reductant, temperature, reaction time and stirring speeds on the weight percentage and morphology of deposited Ni, mean particle size and specific surface area of the composite powders were investigated by Atomic Adsortion Spectrometer, SEM-EDX, PSA and BET. It was found that nucleated Ni-P islands, acted as catalytic sites for further deposition and grown into these relatively thick layers with nodule-type on the surface of diamond by a lateral growth mechanism. The weight percentage of Ni in the composite powder increased with reaction time, feeding rate of reductant and temperature, but decreased with stirring speed. The weight percentage of Ni in Ni-diamond composite powder was 55% at 150 min., 200 rpm and 7$0^{\circ}C$ .
