A Study on the Shooting Traning of Basketball Sports Club using Video File (영상 자료를 활용한 학생 농구부 슈팅 훈련 지도방안)

  • In this study, we analyzed the angle of shooting based on the footage of shooting training of basketball student athletes taken by the basketball team leaders. In the shooting video, the shot height of the player and the trajectory of the ball were drawn through a solid line, and the player was shown to guide the player to adjust the angle of projection to a situation where the success rate was higher. Through this study, the video shows that efficient guidance can be made available to basketball players.

Effects of Regular Exercises on Basic Physical Fitness for Middle School Students (중학생의 규칙적인 운동이 기초체력에 미치는 영향)

  • The main purpose of this thesis was to provide a basis to investigate the effectiveness of regular exercises on basic physical fitness for middle school students. 40 second graders from a middle school were chosen randomly and divided into 4 groups-wrestling group, basketball group, jogging group, and control group. The first three groups have been trained 4 times per week for 18 weeks after class to be compared with the comparison group. Pre and post measurements of physical fitness of the subjects were processed by means of the SPSS program. The average and the standard deviation of the measurements of each group were covered with the ANOVA test, according to the periods and the types of training. Duncan's Multiple Range Test was performed to identify the significance of the relationship between training period and improvement in basic sports ability. The conclusions as follows; 1. In the 50 meter sprint, only the wrestling group showed statistical significance, while the other groups showed gradual progress in general. 2. In the standing long jump, there is no group that showed any improvement. 3. In the forward flexion of the trunk, no significance was to be found. 4. In 30-second sit-ups, the wrestling group showed statistical significance. The wrestling group made greater progress than the other groups, and the basketball group and the jogging group also showed rather great progress. 5. In push-ups, statistical significance was found in the groups of wrestling, basketball, and jogging. And the wrestling group came in first, the basketball group second, and the jogging group third on the progress level. 6. In the distance run, the jogging group showed statistical significance and the jogging group made considerable progress. Steady improvement was to be found in the groups of wrestling and basketball.

  • Basketball is one of the most popular winter sports in Korea. Korean basketball league has started in 1997 with 8 teams. Currently, there are 10 teams participating in it and the average number of spectators in 2010~2011 season reached 3,815. However, it has not been making good profit. It would be meaningful to analyze and evaluate the operational efficiency in order to provide basic information to improve the efficiency. This study used data envelopment analysis to figure out comparative efficiency of the teams in the Korean basketball league. As a result, Jeonjaland, LG, and KT were evaluated to be efficient teams and Orions, Ginseng, and Mobis were not.

Estimating the determinants of victory and defeat through analyzing records of Korean pro-basketball (한국남자프로농구 경기기록 분석을 통한 승패결정요인 추정: 2010-2011시즌, 2011-2012시즌 정규리그 기록 적용)

  • The purpose of this study was to estimate the determinants of victory and defeat through analyzing records of Korean men pro-basketball. Statistical models of victory and defeat were established by collecting present basketball records (2010-2011, 2011-2012 season). Korea Basketball League (KBL) informs records of every pro-basketball game data. The six offence variables (2P%, 3P%, FT%, OR, AS, TO), and the four defense variables (DR, ST, GD, BS) were used in this study. PASW program was used for logistic regression and Answer Tree program was used for the decision tree. All significance levels were set at .05. Major results were as follows. In the logistic regression, 2P%, 3P%, and TO were three offense variables significantly affecting victory and defeat, and DR, ST, and BS were three significant defense variables. Offensive variables 2P%, 3P%, TO, and AS are used in constructing the decision tree. The highest percentage of victory was 80.85% when 2P% was in 51%-58%, 3P% was more than 31 percent, and TO was less than 11 times. In the decision tree of the defence variables, the highest percentage of victory was 94.12% when DR was more than 24, ST was more than six, and BS was more than two times.

A Study on the One-leg Drop landing Pattern and Muscular Activity depending on Chronic Ankle instability among Basketball Club members (농구동호인의 만성발목관절불안정성에 따른 한발착지패턴과 근활성도에 관한 연구)

  • This study aimed to identify and to compare the difference the changes of one-leg drop landing pattern depending on chronic ankle instability (CAI) among basketball club members. For 30 basketball club members who are currently participating in recreational basketball games in Busan Metropolitan City, 21 CAI groups and 9 CON groups were classified according to the CAI standards provided by the International Ankle Consortium. The one-leg drop landing pattern was measured with the alignment of the lower extremity and joint movement at the initial contact (IC), and the point of peak knee flexion. In addition, the one-leg drop landing pattern was tested with the muscular activity of tibialis anterior, peroneus longus, medial gastrocnemius and gluteus medius at the initial contact (IC), heel contact (HC), and the point of peak knee flexion. The results of this study showed that there was no significant difference in lower limb alignment and lower limb muscular activity among single leg drop landing. These results showed no significant differences in the one leg drop landing pattern and muscular activity depending on CAI. The further studies should classify the types of chronic ankle instability and consider the physical demands and movement characteristics depending on their playing position for providing useful information on prevention of CAI in basketball club members.

  • The maximal oxygen intake (MOI) was determined in 54 males (23 nonathletes, 10 basketball players, 8 hand ball players, 7 weight lifters and 6 long distance runners) and in 49 females (24 non-athletes, 16 basketball players and 9 volley ball players) by using a treadmill method outlined in Part I of the present investigation and the following results were obtained: (1) The maximal aerobic work capacity varied from the lowest value of 1,008 kg-m/min in female non-athletes to the highest value of approximately 2,000 kg-m/min in male basketball players and long distance runners. Values of other groups varied from 1,400 kg-m/min in male non-athletes and female athletes to 1,800 kg-m/min in male hand ball players. (2) The MOI per unit body weight varied from the lowest value of 41.3 ml/min/kg in female non-athletes to the highest value of 67.6 ml/min/kg in male long distance runners. Values of other groups were in the order of 47 to 55 ml/min/kg. (3) The heart rate during maximal aerobic work performance varied from the lowest value of approximately 180 per min in female basketball players and male long distance runners to the highest value of 190 or above in nonathletes of both sexes. (4) An estimate of oxygen debt as measured during 15 minutes following the maximal work was 3.841 in female non-athletes, 4.681 in female athletes, 5.561 in male non-athletes and 6.321 in male athletes. These results indicate that the MOI per unit body weight as well as the oxygen debt of Korean non-athletes were comparable to, while corresponding values of Korean athletes were considerably lower than, those of other countries such as Japan, the United States of America and Europe.

Analyzing records of Korean pro-basketball using general linear model (일반선형모형을 적용한 한국남자프로농구 경기기록분석 : 2014-2015 정규리그)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze records of Korean pro-basketball using general linear model (two-way ANOVA and hierarchical multiple regression analysis). Korea Basketball League (KBL) informed the records (2014-2015 season) of this study. The eight variables (TA, 2PA, 3PA, 2P, 3P, Ast, TFB, CH) were selected in content validity. SPSS program was used to analyze general linear model. All alpha level was set at 0.05. Major results were as follow. 3PA had significant interaction effect between victory & defeat variable and home & away variable. Victory teams showed that 3PA was higher in home games than away games, and defeat teams was the other. 2PA, AS, TFB, and CH were selected significant variables affecting victory and defeat. In result of hierarchical regression, Ast had significant moderation effect between 3PA and TS. TFB also had significant moderation effect between AS between 2P. The other construct (Ast between 2PA and TS; TFB between AS between 3P) had no significant moderation effect. In the effect of 2PA, 3PA and Ast to TS, CH also had no significant moderation effect.

The Effects of Sports Injury Prevention Training Program on the Ground Reaction Force during the Rebound in Female Highschool Basketball Players (스포츠상해 예방훈련이 여자고등학교 농구선수들의 리바운드 점프 후 착지 시 지면반력에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury prevention program on the ground reaction force during the rebound in female highschool basketball players. Sixteen highschool female basketball players (ages 16 to 18 years) were participated in this study. Eight of these players participated in a 8-week ACL injury prevention program. Before and After ACL injury prevention program, initial peak value(%BW), maximum peak value(%BW), impulse(%BW sec), and loading rate(N/sec) were measured in the players. The experiment group after ACL injury prevention program showed significant decreased initial peak value, impulse, and loading rate.

Effects of folic acid and vitamin B12 supplementation on hematologic factors, immune factors, aerobic and anaerobic exercise ability in Women's basketball players (여자 농구선수들의 엽산과 비타민 B12 섭취가 혈액학적 요인 및 면역인자, 유·무산소성 운동능력에 미치는 효과)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of 4 week folic acid and vitamin B12 intake on hematological, immune and aerobic anaerobic exercise performance in female basketball players. The subjects were divided into nine groups: ingestion and control group. The results were as follows; 4 weeks of folic acid and vitamin B12 before and after ingestion. There was a significant effect on intake of aerobic and anaerobic capacity, and blood factor analysis showed a significant effect on intake of RBC and Hct. In conclusion, considering the results of the above study, it is expected that folic acid and vitamin B12 intake for improvement of anaerobic and anaerobic exercise ability of female basketball player can improve the performance.

Comparison of Temperament and Cognitive Function Between Basketball and Baseball Players (농구 선수와 야구 선수의 기질 및 인지 기능의 비교)

  • Objectives : The purpose of this study was investigating the differences in temperament, personality, and cognitive function among athletes and non-athletes, as well as differences within athlete groups participating in different-paced sports like baseball and basketball. Methods : A total of 57 professional basketball players, 51 professional baseball players, and 44 non-athletes subjected to temperament and characteristics inventory assessments and computerized neurocognitive function test. One-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) was employed to analyze the average differences in demographic characteristics, temperament, personality traits, and cognitive functions among the three groups, followed by Bonferroni post hoc tests. Comparisons between starters and non-starters within the athlete groups were conducted using the Mann-Whitney U test. Results : In the analysis of temperament, the basketball and baseball player groups exhibited higher reward dependence and persistence compared to the control group. Additionally, in the assessment of personality traits, both basketball and baseball player groups scored higher in self-directedness and cooperativeness compared to the control group, whereas self-transcendence scores were lower. In cognitive ability assessments, baseball and basketball players outperformed the control group in emotional perception tests. Both baseball and basketball players showed lower card movement counts compared to the control group. Conclusions : This study compared the differences in temperament, personality, and cognitive abilities between professional basketball and baseball players and non-athletes. These results provide valuable insights into the temperament, personality, and cognitive abilities of professional athletes, contributing important information for athlete development and coaching goals in the future.
