This research aims at developing a new method which can replace the existing method. known as the quality factor(Q factor) method by an L-R-C test for use in the performance test of inductive loop detectors(ILD) being installed and maintained. In this study, a sensor to detect a magnetic field in terms of frequency and intensity, a method to collect field data, the method of analysis, and the method of diagnosis were developed. An automatic diagnosis system which was developed to overcome those drawbacks has the following features : First, field data is collected automatically by a test vehicle equipped with magnetic field sensors that is running can be said to along the roadway and. thus, the new system completely overcome the roadway and, thus, the new system can be said to completely overcome the inefficiency of the existing method second, since the magnetic fold generated from the ILD is the final output of the whole system of ILD, the existing problem has been solved. third. since each of the detection area by height is collected by the magnetic sensors installed by height. a basic for the identification of the vehicle types to be detectable and the setting of adjustment factors has been made. For the automatic diagnosis system developed during in this study, a reliability test was carried out by comparing vehicle times of ILD installed ideally.
A camera system for the satellite application performs the mission of observation by measuring radiated light energy from the target on the earth. As a development stage of the system, the signal level analysis by estimating the number of electron collected in a pixel of an applied CCD is a basic tool for the performance analysis like SNR as well as the data path design of focal plane electronic. In this paper, two methods are presented for the calculation of the number of electrons for signal level analysis. One method is a quantitative assessment based on the CCD characteristics and design parameters of optical module of the system itself in which optical module works for concentrating the light energy onto the focal plane where CCD is located to convert light energy into electrical signal. The other method compares the design\ parameters of the system such as quantum efficiency, focal length and the aperture size of the optics in comparison with existing camera system in orbit. By this way, relative count of electrons to the existing camera system is estimated. The number of electrons, as signal level of the camera system, calculated by described methods is used to design input circuits of AD converter for interfacing the image signal coming from the CCD module in the focal plane electronics. This number is also used for the analysis of the signal level of the CCD output which is critical parameter to design data path between CCD and A/D converter. The FPE(Focal Plane Electronics) designer should decide whether the dividing-circuit is necessary or not between them from the analysis. If it is necessary, the optimized dividing factor of the level should be implemented. This paper describes the analysis of the electron count of a camera system for a satellite application and then of the signal level for the interface design between CCD and A/D converter using two methods. One is a quantitative assessment based on the design parameters of the camera system, the other method compares the design parameters in comparison with those of the existing camera system in orbit for relative counting of the electrons and the signal level estimation. Chapter 2 describes the radiometry of the camera system of a satellite application to show equations for electron counting, Chapter 3 describes a camera system briefly to explain the data flow of imagery information from CCD and Chapter 4 explains the two methods for the analysis of the number of electrons and the signal level. Then conclusion is made in chapter 5.

We have developed a mode-locked ultra-short pulse C $r^{4+}$:YAG laser, as well as a continuous wave C $r^{4+}$:YAG laser. The laser was pumped by a Nd:YAG laser and its characteristics were investigated. In continuous wave mode, we obtained as much as 600 mW at 1.436 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ with pumping power of 6 W, by using an output coupler with a reflectivity of 98%. The power slope efficiency was 10%, when the gain medium was cooled to 19$^{\circ}C$. The tuning range was varied from 1.39 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ to 1.55 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ and the maximum power was 400 mW at 1.492 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ with a 3-plate birefringent filter. The C $r^{4+}$:YAG laser was mode-locked by a Kerr lens mode locking method. Mode locking at 1.436 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$was initiated by slightly rocking a mirror mount. But the pulses were very unstable because of the strong water absorption at this region. So we shifted the lasing wavelength to 1.492 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ by using a 3-plate birefringent filter. Then we obtained stable state mode-locking with the maximum average power of 280 mW for a pumping power of 6 W. The pulse width of 43 fs was measured using an autocorrelator and the repetition rate was 104.5 MHz.

A novel multi-section power divider configuration is proposed to obtain wide-band frequency performance up to microwave frequency region. Design procedures for the proposed microwave broadband power divider are composed of a planar multi-section three-ports hybrid and a waveguide transformer design procedures. The multi-section power divider is based on design theory of the optimum quarter-wave transformer. Furthermore, in order to obtain the broadband isolation performance between the two adjacent output ports, the odd mode equivalent circuit should be matched by using the lossy element such as resistor. The derived design formula for calculating these odd mode matching elements is based on the singly terminated filter design theory. The waveguide transformer section is designed to suppress the propagation of the higher order modes such as waveguide modes due to employing the metallic electric wall. Thus, each section of the designed waveguide transformer should be operated with evanescent mode over the whole design frequency band of the proposed microwave broadband power divider. This paper presents several simulations and experimental results of multi-section power divider to show validity of the proposed microwave broadband power divider configuration. Simulation and experiment show excellent performance of multi section power divider.
Korea's national income statistics have been compiled by the Bank of Korea since 1953. However, there is a break in the time series. The current time series (1970 onward) is based on the '1993 SNA (System of National Accounts)' suggested by the UN, and the previous time series (1953~1970) was based on the '1953 SNA'. The difference between the previous and current time series is 4.8% in 1970 when the two series overlap. The difference is even greater in terms of comparisons across industries. In addition, it has now become even more difficult to connect the current and the previous time series because, in 2009, the Bank of Korea introduced a chain weighted method for calculating the current time series (1970 onward). Under the chain weighted method, the time series underwent substantial modification; for instance, the economic growth rate during 1970~2005 is 0.9%p higher than the rate under the general method. This paper applies chain weighted values and the '1993 SNA' to the previous time series (1953~1970) by utilizing various national account manuals published by the UN and previous Korean input-output tables in order to calculate a long term time series from 1953 to 2010 based on the same criteria as the current time series (1970 onward). In the revised time series, it appears that 1953 GDP at current basic prices is 3.5% higher and the growth rate for the period of 1953~1970 is 1.5%p higher each year than under the previous time series. Under the revised time series the size of the Korean economy as of 2010 is 50-fold bigger than that of 1953. In terms of industries, manufacturing and SOC show significant expansion whereas the extent of that of the service industry is relatively small.

This paper presents a method for detecting damage to a structure at low cost using its impedance. The impedance technique is a typical method to detect local damage for structural health monitoring. This is a common technique for estimating damage by monitoring the electro-mechanical admittance signal of the structure. To apply this technique, an expensive impedance analyzer is generally used. On the other hand, it is necessary to develop a low-cost variant to effectively disseminate the technique. In this study, a method based on the transfer impedance using a function generator and digital multimeter, which are generally used in the laboratory instead of an impedance analyzer, was developed. That is, this technique estimates the damage by comparing the damage index using the amplitude ratio of the output voltage measured in the healthy and damaged state. A transfer impedance test was carried out on a steel specimen. By comparing the damage index, the presence of damage could be assessed reasonably. This study is a basic investigation of an impedance-based low-cost damage detection method that can be used effectively for structural health monitoring if supplemented with future research to estimate the damage location and severity.

This study examined the fire risk of the region in Goyang City using the spatial information data of buildings. The economic damage by industry was assessed according to the probability of fire risk. The study area was confined to Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do, and the same fire risk reduction rate was applied to each region for the convenience of analysis. The possibility of fire was derived based on the buildings' density and usage in the area by National GIS building-integrated information standard data. The calculation of economic damage by industry in Goyang City due to the fire risk was calculated by combining the Goyang-si industry-related model produced by matching with 30 industrial categories in Input-Output Statistics of Korea Bank and 20 industrial categories in the Goyang-si business survey and the possibility of fire. The basic scenario of production impossibility during six months and business loss due to fire was established and analyzed based on the supply model. The analysis showed that Ilsan-dong-gu, Ilsan-seo-gu, and Deokyang-gu suffered the most economic damage. The "electricity, gas, steam, and water business" showed the greatest loss by industry.
In this study, a basic study was performed to systematically compare the changes in surface properties according to the post-processing method of the stereolithography (SLA) printing method, which is a photocuring 3D printing method, and to provide information on the post-processing method suitable for the application. Although it was possible to improve some of the transparency of the SLA-type output by regularly changing the irregular microstructure of the surface through polishing, it was difficult to secure sufficient transparency like glass. The change in contact angle characteristics due to grinding showed a tendency to slightly increase as the grinding time increased and the particle size of the sandpaper used was small, but the variation between samples was large and the average contact angle was 77~90°, showing no statistically significant difference. Surface treatment methods other than polishing were tried, and it was confirmed that it was possible to easily and simply improve the transparency by applying a commercially available vehicle scratch remover or silicone oil. In addition, a method for securing high transparency such as glass by using a scratch remover after sequential grinding while reducing the particle size of the sandpaper was proposed. Finally, even after surface treatment through polishing and various methods, it was difficult to secure a contact angle of 90° or more.

The agro-climatic index is one of the ways to assess the climate resources of particular agricultural areas on the prospect of agricultural production; it can be a key indicator of agricultural productivity by providing the basic information required for the implementation of different and various farming techniques and practicalities to estimate the growth and yield of crops from the climate resources such as air temperature, solar radiation, and precipitation. However, the agro-climate index can always be changed since the index is not the absolute. Recently, many studies which consider uncertainty of future climate change have been actively conducted using multi-model ensemble (MME) approach by developing and improving dynamic and statistical downscaling of Global Climate Model (GCM) output. In this study, the agro-climatic index of Korean Peninsula, such as growing degree day based on $5^{\circ}C$, plant period based on $5^{\circ}C$, crop period based on $10^{\circ}C$, and frost free day were calculated for assessment of the spatio-temporal variations and uncertainties of the indices according to climate change; the downscaled historical (1976-2005) and near future (2011-2040) RCP climate sceneries of AR5 were applied to the calculation of the index. The result showed four agro-climatic indices calculated by nine individual GCMs as well as MME agreed with agro-climatic indices which were calculated by the observed data. It was confirmed that MME, as well as each individual GCM emulated well on past climate in the four major Rivers of South Korea (Han, Nakdong, Geum, and Seumjin and Yeoungsan). However, spatial downscaling still needs further improvement since the agro-climatic indices of some individual GCMs showed different variations with the observed indices at the change of spatial distribution of the four Rivers. The four agro-climatic indices of the Korean Peninsula were expected to increase in nine individual GCMs and MME in future climate scenarios. The differences and uncertainties of the agro-climatic indices have not been reduced on the unlimited coupling of multi-model ensembles. Further research is still required although the differences started to improve when combining of three or four individual GCMs in the study. The agro-climatic indices which were derived and evaluated in the study will be the baseline for the assessment of agro-climatic abnormal indices and agro-productivity indices of the next research work.

The pumpkin fruit fly, Bactrocera depressa (Tephritidae: Diptera), is one of the most important pests in Cucurbitaceae plants. This study was conducted to investigate the basic ecology of B. depressa, and to develop a forecasting model for predicting the time of adult emergence in early season. In green pumpkin producing farms, the oviposition punctures caused by the oviposition of B. depressa occurred first between mid- and late July, peaked in late August, and then decreased in mid-September followed by disappearance of the symptoms in late September, during which oviposition activity of B. depressa is considered active. In full-ripened pumpkin producing farms, damaged fruits abruptly increased from early Auguest, because the decay of pumpkins caused by larval development began from that time. B. depressa produced a mean oviposition puncture of 2.2 per fruit and total 28.8-29.8 eggs per fruit. Adult emergence from overwintering pupae, which was monitored using a ground emergence trap, was first observed between mid- and late May, and peaked during late May to early June. The development times from overwintering pupae to adult emergence decreased with increasing temperature: 59.0 days at $15^{\circ}C$, 39.3 days at $20^{\circ}C$, 25.8 days at$25^{\circ}C$ and 21.4 days at $30^{\circ}C$. The pupae did not develop to adult at $35^{\circ}C$. The lower developmental threshold temperature was calculated as $6.8^{\circ}C$ by linear regression. The thermal constant was 482.3 degree-days. The non-linear model of Gaussian equation well explained the relationship between the development rate and temperature. The Weibull function provided a good fit for the distribution of development times of overwintering pupae. The predicted date of 50% adult emergence by a degree-day model showed one day deviation from the observed actual date. Also, the output estimated by rate summation model, which was consisted of the developmental model and the Weibull function, well pursued the actual pattern of cumulative frequency curve of B. depressa adult emergence. Consequently, it is expected that the present results could be used to establish the management strategy of B. depressa.
