Purpose : This study was to investigate vascular dementia elders's activities of daily living, quality of life index and to determine how much vascular dementia elders is influenced by the 12 weeks combined exercise program with aerobic training and resistance exercise. Methods : Thirty patients with vascular dementia over 65 in B geriatrics hospital were recruited this study. Activities of daily living were measured by I-ADL(instrumental-activities of daily living) and B-ADL(basic-Activities of daily living) and quality of life index was measured by GQOL-D(geriatric quality of life scaledementia). Statistical analysis was used repeated one-way ANOVA to test mean difference by using SPSS 12.0 for windows. Results : After comparing the activities of daily living of experimental group that of control group according to the period of exercise, there were statistically significant differences in I-ADL, B-ADL score test and GQOL-D index test of both experimental and control groups. There was also a significant difference in comparing the results of 12 weeks exercise of the groups. Conclusion : 12 weeks combined exercise program had a good influence on vascular dementia elders's activities of daily living and quality of life index.
The purpose of this study are to analyze the images of‘home life’through the goals of 1st-6th secondary Home Economics education curriculums and to identify the images of ‘home life’held by undergraduate students(83). In the replies of undergraduate students, the images are classified with following:1) the images of ‘home’were expressed warmth(hearth), relexation(ease or comfort), sharing, basic unit of society, and conflict and oppression. 2) The images of ‘home life’were expressed hearth, sharing, conflict(interaction), relexation(ease or comfort or sability), routine(act or household art), basic unit(shelter), responsibility and obligation, and reproduction(biological meaning). 3) The images of ‘daily life’were expressed routine(simplicity of boring or routine acts), comfort(stability), oppression, diverse activities in everyday, human relationship, and social life.
In modern society, dementia patients are increasing due to busy daily life. Due to the nature of dementia, family members are having a hard time with their caring activities. Dementia diseases reduce the quality of life not only of the patient, but also of the family, and nursing activities lead to social problems such as unemployment or frequent turnover. This study aims to reduce the difficulty and stress of the nursing process by supporting daily life of dementia patients and nursing activities through smart care platform. Ultimately, we will reduce the cost of treatment for people with dementia and delay the worsening of symptoms through a systematic care program for people with dementia. The smart dementia care platform features smart technology to help the dementia patients' daily lives and support their caregivers.

Purpose : To assess the relationship between post-stroke shoulder pain, motor function, and pain-related quality of life(QOL) Methods : Volunteer sample of 62 chronic stroke survivors with post-stroke shoulder pain and glenohumeral subluxation. The patients answered the question in shoulder pain with the Brief Pain Inventory question 12 (BP1-12), Pain-related Quality of life(BPI-23). Therapists measured the performance of combined upper-limb movement including the hand-behind-neck(HBN), hand-behind-beck(HBB) maneuver, added passive pain-free shoulder external rotation range of motion, and Modified Ashworth Scale(MAS) score of the elbow flexors. Physical performance assessments were used to measure basic activity daily living(Modified Barthel Index-self care, MBI-S/C), motor function of upper limb(Fugl-Meyer Upper/Lower Extremity, FM-U/E). Results : Stepwise regression analyses indicated that post-stroke shoulder pain is associated with the BPI 23, but not with the FM-U/E, MBI-S/C. Thus, the presence of shoulder pain is more important predicting pain-related QOL than its degree in predicting motor function of upper limb and basic activity daily living. Conclusion : Post-stroke shoulder pain was associated with reduced quality of life related to pain. The pain was not associated with the motor function of upper limb and basic activity daily living. The result imply that management of shoulder pain & anatomical position of shoulder joint after stroke should be emphasized. This provides a further incentive to develop effective rehabilitation prevention and treatment strategies for post-stroke shoulder pain.

After the pre-evaluation, basic rehabilitation treatment and intervention programs were applied to the intervention group, and only basic rehabilitation treatment was performed to the control group, and post-evaluation was performed 8 weeks later. Results: As a result of the study, among the items that measured the gross motor function, upper limb function, and daily life performance ability of the intervention group in the difference between the intervention group and the control group, statistically improved in personal processing and movement (p<0.05). In addition, the parenting sense of competence children in the intervention group was statistically significant (p<0.05). Conclusions: The home activity support program will help strengthen the ability of cerebral palsy children to perform daily life as a way to set mutually agreed goals with their families or children and achieve them in a familiar environment.
