The ideal chemical sensor must show the similar result under the same condition for accurate measurement of gases regardless of time. However, the actual responses of chemical sensors have been shown the lacks of repeatability and reproducibility because of the drift which has been caused by aging and pollution of the sensor and the environment change such as temperature and humidity. If the problems are not properly taken into considerations, the stability and reliability of the system using chemical sensors would be decreased. In this paper, we analyzed the sensor's drift and applied the three different compensation methods(DWT( Discrete Wavelets Transform), Baseline Manipulation, Internal Normalization) for reducing the effects of the drift in order to improve the stability and the reliability of short term of the chemical sensors. And in order to compare the results of the methods, the standard deviation was used as a criterion. The sensor drift was analyzed by a trend line graph. We applied the three methods to the successive data measured for three days and compared the results. As a result of comparison, the standard deviation of DWT showed lowest value. (Before compensation: 7.1219, DWT: 1.3644, Baseline Manipulation: 2.5209, Internal Normalization: 3.1425).
The baseline flattened NMR spectrum has been achieved by several methodologies including pulse manipulation with a series of phase cycling. The background signal inherent in the probe is also main source of baseline distortion both in solution and solid NMR. The simple direct polarization with 90° pulse flipping the magnetization from the z-axis onto the receiver coil requires the strong rf pulse enough to encompass the wide frequency range to excite the resonance of interest nuclei. Albeit the perfect polarization 90° pulse, the signal from the unwanted magnetic fields such as background signal can not be completely suppressed by suitable phase cycling. Moreover, slowly baseline wiggling signal from the low 𝛾 nuclei is not easy to eliminate with multiple pulse manipulation. So there is still need to contrive the new scheme for that purpose in an adroit manner. In this article new triple pulse excitation schemes for TIP and modified DEPTH pulse sequence are analytically examined in terms of arbitrary phase and flip angle of pulse. The suitable phase cycling for these pulse trains is necessary for the good sensitivity and resolution of the spectrum. It is observed that the 13C sensitivity TIP experiment is almost equal to the CP/MAS with modified DEPTH sequence, both of which are applicable to both solid and solution state NMR.
The purpose of study to know hand function in order to prevent disability or handicap. The ability to perform precise refined movements of hand is an important human function. Improvement in object manipulation is common goal of therapist. The ability to manipulate an object in the hand is need for many functional tasks, including writing, handling coins, small objects and ADL skills. Therapists have commonly used hand grip and pinch strengths as baseline measures to evaluate hand function. The patterns of grasps are precision grasp, power grasp, hook grasp, spherical grasp, sylindrical grasp, disc grasp, pinch, three point pinch and tip pinch. And the motion of in-manipulation are finger to palm translation, palm to finger, shift, simple rotation and complex rotation. The hand function are include to evaluate of ROM, sensation, muscle strength of hand. It used to evaluate of decision of effect and suppose of disability and acceptance of vocation. Good evaluation is need to pretreatment and baseline of treatment and help to evaluate of effect on treatment.
This paper deals with the position determination problem of stereo camera systems used as a sensor for 3D robotic manipulation. Stereo cameras having parallel rays of sight and been set up on the same baseline are assumed. The distance between the sensor and the space measured is determined so as to get insensitive parameters to the uncertainty of control points used for calibration and to satisfy the error condition set by considering the repeatability of the robot. The baseline width is determined by minimizing the mutual effect of 3D positional error and stereo image coordinate error. Unlike existing techniques, the technique proposed here is developed without complicated constraints and modelling process of the object to be observed. Thus, the technique of this paper is more general and its effectiveness is proved by simulation.
Periodontal disease is characterized by destruction of supporting tissues caused by invasion of plaque bacteria and defense mechanism of host. Many dentists are very interested in laser therapy on various intraoral soft tissue lesions including inflammatory periodontal pocket. In order to determine the therapeutic effect of intrapocket irradiation of a pulsed- Nd : YAG laser on the inflammatory periodontal pockets, bilateral 60 teeth with 4-6mm in probing pocket depth and gingival inflammation were selected and evaluated by sulcus bleeding index(SBI), and plaque index(pI) for baseline record. Intrapocket irradiation($300{\mu}m$ fiber optic, I.5W power, for 2 min.) of a pulsed-Nd : YAG laser(EL.EN.EN060, Italy) was applied on half of them. As the control group, the same procedure except power-off was repeated on the contralateral 30 teeth. At 1-, 2-, 3-, and 4-week after intrapocket manipulation, every tooth was reevaluated by the same clinical indices. And the difference between the lased group and control group was statistically analyzed by paired t-test and Chi-square test in Microstat program. Following results were obtained: 1. Until I-week and 2-week after intrapocket manipulation, SBI was lowered in both lased group and control group, compared to baseline SBI, but from 3-week after, the recovering tendency toward baseline was noted, and at only 2-week after, the number of teeth showing lowered SBI was significantly more in lased group than in control group(p<0.05). 2. PI of both lased group and control group was lowered through whole experimental period from I-week to 4-week after, compared to baseline PI(p<0.05), but there was no significant difference between lased group and control group(p>0.1). The results suggest that intrapocket irradiation of a pulsed-Nd:YAG laser may lead somewhat remission of gingival inflammation, but for more favorable therapeutic result the thorough root planing should be necessarily accompanied with gingival curettage.
Objectives : The purpose of this study is to identify the effect of tonifying or sedative manipulation on LI4 and KI7 for sweet deficiency under cold environment. Methods : The participants were divided into 4 groups; intact group without acupuncture(Intact), acupuncture group inserting straightly with LI4 & KI7 method((LI4-straight KI7-straight), acupuncture group inserting twisting with LI4 tonificaton & KI7 tonificaton method(LI4-tonify KI7-tonify) and acupuncture group inserting twisting with LI4 sedation & KI7 sedation method(LI4-purge KI7-purge). We obtained the baseline data under cold condition with the temperature $14{\pm}1^{\circ}C$. After making the participant staying under cold condition for 10 minute, we measured sweating rate on skin surface and biological responses such as body temperature, oxygen saturation, pulse rate, systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, deoxy-Hb and oxy-Hb in subcutaneous. Results : The sweating rate on skin surface was not different in all treatment groups compared to the intact group. The body temperature was significantly increased in LI4-straight KI7-straight group compared to the intact group. The oxygen saturation significantly increased in LI4-purge KI7-purge group compared to the intact group. The systolic blood pressure was significantly increased in LI4-purge KI7-purge group compared to the intact group. The deoxy-Hb was significantly decreased in LI4-purge KI7-purge group compared to the intact group. Conclusions : The above results, the effect of LI4, KI7 acupuncture due to the tonifying or sedative manipulation on sweating control could be observed. However, other biological responses with the acupuncture of tonifying or sedative manipulation were giving different expressions. We suggest that continued research of tonifying or sedative manipulation is of importance order to find these expressions.
Objectives : The purpose of this study was to exam the effectiveness of acupuncture using the tonification & sedation manipulation for LI4(Hegu) and KI7(Fuliu) which was known to promote sweating for lack sweating and inhibit for excessive sweating. Methods : The subject of this study was 60 people who agreed with participating. The participants were divided into 6 groups as control group without acupuncture, acupuncture group with needle inserted perpendicularly at LI4, KI7 without manipulation(AT-A), acupuncture group with needle inserted and twisted at LI4 using sedation technique and KI7 using tonificaton technique(AT-B), acupuncture group with needle inserted and twisted at LI4 using tonificaton technique and KI7 using sedation technique(AT-C), acupuncture group with needle inserted and twisted at LI4 and KI7 using tonificaton technique(AT-D) and acupuncture group with needle inserted and twisted at LI4 and KI7 using sedation technique(AT-E). We obtained baseline data at a stable condition with the temperature of $25^{\circ}C$. After having the participant stay at $40^{\circ}C$ for 10 minute and treated with acupuncture for 10 minute, we measured the parameters such as sweating rate, water content in subcutaneous, water content in skin surface, systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, pulse rate, oxygen saturation and body temperature. Objectives: Loss of the interdental papilla is multi-factorial and creates a multitude of problems. Autogenous connective tissue/biomaterial-based regeneration has been attempted for decades to reconstitute the black space created due to the loss of papilla. The aim of this present study was to regenerate papillary recession defects using an amnion-chorion membrane (ACM) allograft and to evaluate the clinical outcome up to six months postoperatively. Materials and Methods: Twenty patients with 25 Nordland and Tarnow's Class I/II interdental papillary recession defects were treated with ACM and coronal advancement of the gingivo-papillary unit via a semilunar incision on the labial aspect followed by a sulcular incision in the area of interest. A photographic image analysis was carried out using the GNU Image Manipulation software program from the baseline to three and six months postoperatively. The black triangle height (BTH) and the black triangle width (BTW) were calculated using the pixel size and were then converted into millimeters. The mean and standard deviation values were determined at baseline and then again at three and six months postoperatively. The probability values (P<0.05 and P≤0.01) were considered statistically significant and highly significant, respectively. An analysis of variance and post hoc Bonferroni test were carried out to compare the mean values. Results: Our evaluation of the BTH and BTW showed a statistically and highly significant difference from the baseline until both three and six months postoperatively (P=0.01). A post hoc Bonferroni test disclosed a statistically significant variance from the baseline until three and six months postoperatively (P<0.05) and a non-significant difference from three to six months after the procedure (P≥0.05). Conclusion: An ACM allograft in conjunction with a coronally advanced flap could be a suitable minimally invasive alternative for papillary regeneration.
