Extranodal Natural Killer (NK)/T-cell lymphoma, nasal type, is a subtype of non-Hodgkin lymphoma, strongly associated with Epstein-Barr virus. Extranodal NK/T-cell lymphoma mostly affects the nasal cavity and there has been no report of the disease's occurrence at the base of tongue. Here we report a case of 43-year-old man who presented with a diffuse ulcerative lesion at the base of tongue. Because the patient had oral bleeding, tracheostomy and lingual artery ligation was performed via a transcervical approach to control bleeding and protect the upper airway. We performed a deep biopsy through the lateral pharyngotomy approach, and finally, the patient was diagnosed with extranodal NK/T-cell lymphoma, nasal type. We report this rare case of extranodal NK/T cell lymphoma at the base of tongue with a literature review.

Clear cell carcinoma is a rare variant of salivary gland carcinoma, and its occurrence in the tongue base is even rarer. We present a case of a 55-year-old female patient with clear cell carcinoma of the tongue base. The patient initially presented with a 3-month history of palpable tongue mass, leading to her visit to the otolaryngology outpatient clinic. The patient underwent a complete resection of the tumor under general anesthesia. Postoperative follow-up imaging studies showed no evidence of recurrence. This case report highlights the diagnostic and management challenges associated with clear cell carcinoma of tongue base and demonstrates that a high index of suspicion is required to diagnose clear cell caricnoma, given its rarity and overlapping features with other clear cell neoplasms.

The location of ganglioglioma (GG) within the infratentorial compartment is unusual. The authors report a rare case of GG in the cerebellar hemisphere. A 12-year-old boy suffered from headache and gait disturbance. Neuroimaging studies demonstrated a large enhancing cerebellar mass with cystic components compressing the forth ventricle. After complete resection of the tumor, the patient became symptom free. Histological examination on the tumor disclosed glial cells and dysplastic ganglion cells. Although it is a rare tumor, in the appropriate clinical setting, a GG should be considered in the presence of a cerebellar mass with both solid and cystic components on magnetic resonance images in children.

Effective science-based management of the basin water resources requires an understanding of the characteristics of the streams, such as the baseflow discharge. In this study, the base flow was estimated in the two watersheds with the least artificial factors among the Nakdong River watersheds, as determined using the chemical hydrograph separation technique. The 16-year (2004-2019) discontinuous observed stream flow and electrical conductivity data in the Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) monitoring network were extended to continuous daily data using the TANK model and the 7-parameter log-linear model combined with the minimum variance unbiased estimator. The annual base flows at the upper Namgang Dam basin and the upper Nakdong River basin were both analyzed to be about 56% of the total annual flow. The monthly base flow ratio showed a high monthly deviation, as it was found to be higher than 0.9 in the dry season and about 0.46 in the rainy season. This is in line with the prevailing common sense notion that in winter, most of the stream flow is base flow, due to the characteristics of the dry season winter in Korea. It is expected that the chemical-based hydrological separation technique involving TANK and the 7-parameter log-linear models used in this study can help quantify the base flow required for systematic watershed water environment management.

For last several decades with the achievement of fast economic development, the electrical fires occupies over 30 percent of total fire incidents almost every year in Korea and not decreased in spite of much times and efforts. Electrical fire cause diagnostics are to confirm a cause for the fire by examination of fire scene. Cause diagnosis methods haven't been systematized yet, because of limits for available information, investigator's biased knowledge, etc. Therefore, in order to assist the investigators and to find out the exact causes of electrical fires, required is research for an electrical fire cause diagnosis system using DB, computer programming and some mathematical tools. The electrical fire cause diagnosis system has two functions of DB and electrical fire cause diagnosis. The cause diagnosis is conducted by a case-based reasoning on a case base and rule-based reasoning on a rule base. For the diagnosis with high reliability, a mixed reasoning approach of a case-based reasoning and fuzzy rule-based reasoning has been adopted. The electrical fire cause diagnosis system proposes the electrical fire causes inferred from the diagnosis processes, and possibility of the causes as well.

Metastatic tumors of the oral cavity are uncommon. Most of them are located in the mandible while only small percentage are found within the soft tissues. The common sites of metastases to the soft tissue of oral cavity were the tongue and gingiva and among the tongue, the base of tongue was most common. An explanation of the predilection may be due to a richer vascular supply within base of tongue. The authors have recently experienced a case of small cell lung carcinoma with base of tongue metastasis in a 81-year-old male who had foreign body sensation at swallowing and muffled voice for 2 months. So, we present this case with the review of literatures.

Gifticon is an innovative new service of SK Marketing & Company. Launched in the end of 2006 for the first time in the world, the mobile gift certificate is in the form of a SMS message that bears a bar code to exchange with real products sent to the intended recipient through internet portal, messenger or/and mobile phones. The service started by connecting individuals (B2C business) and was expanded to the new marketing tools of companies (B2B business). While the business took off with soft progress in the initial year of launch, Gifticon business finally gained its momentum in the growth of sales in its second and third year. Yet, the data showed that the growth of user-base was getting stagnant that the number of users remained flat for the past few months. Moreover, competition from latecomers such as Giftishow from KTF and Heartcon from LG Telecom gets fierce. Particularly in B2B sector where Gifticon has made minimal profit, competitors started aggressive promotional activities, taking away shares from Gifticon. Under these circumstances, team is facing tough strategic decisions for its long-term growth; How can they further grow the business? Should they go after more massive targets for broader user-base? Should they pursue B2B business more aggressively? This case study asks students to come up with solutions for these questions by understanding concepts, theories and models for diffusion of innovations and strategies to overcome a chasm.

The Smart Home and the Home Networking industry have growth rate in 53.9% per year, and many nations appoint it as a nation's developing industry to research and invest. Based on the Modular Coordination(MC) the framing standard of design drawing was examined in every year, and in same way for making the framing standard about Smart Home there need making a Modular Coordination(MC) at first. This investigation recognize the necessity about the modular that will be the base of architectural space which control the smart instruments. And aimed at indicating smart modular through the research about modular of the existing residence space and survey about the applicable smart technology.

This study was conducted to analyze cost-utility of bosentan versus iloprost indicated for pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) in a Korean healthcare setting from a payer's perspective. We constructed a Markov model to estimate total costs and outcomes for 1-year time horizon in a hypothetical cohort of 50-year-old patients with PAH. Base analysis showed that bosentan resulted in KW 5.5 billions saving and 18 quality-adjusted life year (QALY) gains per 100 patients compared to iloprost. Bosentan as a dominant strategy was found to be robust through various sensitivity analyses.

Given the limited availability of data in South Korea, this study proposes a method by which to estimate regional capital stock by modifying the benchmark year method (BYM) and applies it to estimate regional net capital stock by sector in transport infrastructure. First, it estimates time-varying sectoral depreciation rates using the sectoral net capital stock and the investment amount for each period. Second, it estimates the net capital stock of each period using the net capital stock in the base year and the investment in each period. Third, in order to ensure that the sum of net capital stocks by region is equal to the nationwide estimate, the national estimates are allocated to each region according to the proportion of the values derived from the previous stage. The proposed method can alleviate well-known problems associated with conventional BYMs, specifically the upward bias and arbitrary choice of the depreciation rate.
