선체 구조설계를 위한 지식 베이스 전문가 시스템 (Knowledge-based Expert System for the Preliminary Ship Structural Design)

  • 본 논문은 선박의 초기설계와 중앙단면 설계용 지식베이스 시스템을 개발하고 지식공학이 선체구조 설계 분야에 매우 효율적으로 적용될 수 있음을 검토하는데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위하여 첫째 구조설계에 적합한 지식베이스 전문가 시스템 개발용 도구(tool)인 E.1을 개발하였다. E.1은 C언어로 작성되었고 구조설계 과정을 효율적으로 뒷받침해주기 위해서 자동 반복 계산과 재추론 기능을 갖고 있다. 둘째 살물선의 초기설계시 주요치수 추정과 중앙단면 설계를 위한 지식베이스를 개발하였다. 이 지식베이스들은 통계적 경험식, 선급 규정, 경험적 지식 등을 rule, fact, table로 표현하여 구성하였다. 셋째 지식베이스의 추론을 통하여 중앙 단면 최적 설계 프로그램의 입력 자료를 생성하고 최적화 프로그램을 수행시키는 통합(hybrid) 시스템을 구축하였다. 넷째 보강판 설계용 지식베이스 시스템을 개발하기 위해 최적화 결과의 회귀분석을 이용하는 간이 설계법을 적용해 보았다. 이 시스템을 사용하여 살물선과 보강판의 설계과정을 보이고 그 결과를 검토해 보았다. 앞으로 E.I와 성능 개선과 더 우수한 지식베이스가 축적됨에 따라서 선체 구조설계에 사용되는 기존의 CAD 시스템의 성능이 크게 보완될 것으로 기대된다.

안정화 처리된 비소오염토양의 장기 용출특성 (Long-Term Leaching Characteristics of Arsenic Contaminated Soils Treated by the Stabilization Method)

  • In order to investigate stabilization effect and sustainability on As-contaminated farmland soils which were affected the abandoned mine site and stabilized by zerovalent iron(ZVI) and industrial by-products, batch-scale and pilot-scale tests were carried out. In batch tests, ZVI and industrial by-products(blast furnace slag, steel refining slag and oyster shell powder) were used in treatment materials to reduce the As leaching. Industrial by-products were mixed with As-contaminated soils, in the ratio of 1%, 3%, 5% and 7% on the weight base of dried soil. The results of batch-scale tests was shown that the reduction of As concentration was observed in all samples and it was expected that ZVI and steel refining slag were more effective than other treatment materials to stabilize As compounds. In pilot-scale tests, columns were filled with untreated soils and treated soils mixed with ZVI and steel refining slag in the same mixing ratio of 3%. Distilled water was discharged into the columns with the velocity of 0.3 pore volume/day. During the test, pH, EC, Eh and As concentration were measured in the regular term(1pore volume). after six months, pilot-scale tests were retested to investigate sustainability of treatment materials. As a result, It was shown that the leachate from control column was continuously released during the test period and its concentration was greater than $100ug{\cdot}L^{-1}$ which was exceeded the national regulation of water discharged to river or stream ($50ug{\cdot}L^{-1}$). On the other hand, soil treated with ZVI and steel refining slag showed that the concentrations of leachate were lower than national regulation of water discharged to river or stream. Therefore it was expected that ZVI and steel refining slag could be applied to the farmland site as the alternative treatment materials.

Full-scale tests and finite element analysis of arched corrugated steel roof under static loads

  • Arched Corrugated Steel Roof (ACSR) is a kind of thin-walled steel shell, composing of arched panels with transverse small corrugations. Four full-scale W666 ACSR samples with 18m and 30m span were tested under full and half span static vertical uniform loads. Displacement, bearing capacities and failure modes of the four samples were measured. The web and bottom flange in ACSR with transverse small corrugations are simplified to anisotropic curved plates, and the equivalent tensile modulus, shear modulus and Poisson's ratio of 18m span ACSR were measured. Two 18 m-span W666 ACSR samples were analyzed with the Finite Element Analysis program ABAQUS. Base on the tests, the limit bearing capacity of ACSR is low, and for half span loading, it is 74-75% compared with the full span loading. When the testing load approached to the limit value, the bottom flange at the sample's bulge place locally buckled first, and then the whole arched roof collapsed suddenly. If the vertical loads apply along the full span, the deformation shape is symmetric, but the overall failure mode is asymmetric. For half span vertical loading, the deformation shape and the overall failure mode of the structure are asymmetric. The ACSR displacement under the vertical loads is large and the structural stiffness is low. There is a little difference between the FEM analysis results and testing data, showing the simplify method of small corrugations in ACSR and the building techniques of FEM models are rational and useful.

KAERI 채널형 전단벽체의 동적해석; 시스템판별, FE 모델향상 및 시간이력 응답 (Dynamic Analysis of a KAERI Channel Type Shear Wall: System Identification, FE Model Updating and Time-History Responses)

  • KAERI has planned to carry out a series of dynamic tests using a shaking table and time-history analyses for a channel-type concrete shear wall to investigate its seismic performance because of the recently frequent occurrence of earthquakes in the south-eastern parts of Korea. The overall size of a test specimen is b×l×h =2500 mm×3500 mm×4500 mm, and it consists of three stories having slabs and walls with thicknesses of 140 mm and 150 mm, respectively. The system identification, FE model updating, and time-history analysis results for a test shear wall are presented herein. By applying the advanced system identification, so-called pLSCF, the improved modal parameters are extracted in the lower modes. Using three FE in-house packages, such as FEMtools, Ruaumoko, and VecTor4, the eigenanalyses are made for an initial FE model, resulting in consistency in eigenvalues. However, they exhibit relatively stiffer behavior, as much as 30 to 50% compared with those extracted from the test in the 1st and 2nd modes. The FE model updating is carried out to consider the 6-dofs spring stiffnesses at the wall base as major parameters by adopting a Bayesian type automatic updating algorithm to minimize the residuals in modal parameters. The updating results indicate that the highest sensitivity is apparent in the vertical translational springs at few locations ranging from 300 to 500% in variation. However, their changes seem to have no physical meaning because of the numerical values. Finally, using the updated FE model, the time-history responses are predicted by Ruaumoko at each floor where accelerometers are located. The accelerograms between test and analysis show an acceptable match in terms of maximum and minimum values. However, the magnitudes and patterns of floor response spectra seem somewhat different because of the slightly different input accelerograms and damping ratios involved.

국소재발된 두경부종양의 무고정틀 정위적 분할방사선치료 (Frameless Fractionated Stereotactic Radiaton Therapy in Recurrent Head & Neck Cancers)

  • Background & Objectives: Frameless fractionated stereotactic radiotherapy(FFSRT) is a modification of stereotactic radiosurgery(SRS) with radiobiologic advantage of fractionation without losing mechanical accuracy of SRS. Local recurrence of head and neck cancer at or near skull base benefit from reirradiation. Main barrier to successful palliation is dose limitation secondary to normal tissue tolerance. We try to evaluate the efficacy and safety of FFSRT as a new modality of reirradaton in these challenging patients. Materials & Methods: Seven patients with recurrent head & neck cancer involving at or near skull base received FFSRT from September 1995 to November 1997. Six patients with nasopharyngeal cancer had received induction chemotherapy and curative radiation therapy. One patient with maxillary sinus cancer had received total maxillectomy and postoperative radiation therapy as a initial treatment. Follow-up ranged from 11 to 32 months with median of 24 months. Three of 7 patients received hyperfractionated radiation therapy(1.1-1.2Gy/fraction, bid, total 19.8-24Gy) just before FFSRT. All patients received FFSRT(3-5Gy/fraction, total 15-30Gy/5-10fractions). Chemotherapy(cis-platin $100mg/m^2$) were given concurrently with FFSRT in four patients. Second course of FFSRT were given in 4 patients with progression or recurrence after initial FFSRT. Because IF(irregularity factor; ratio of surface area of target to the surface area of sphere with same volume as a target) is too big to use conventional stereotactic RT using multiple arc method for protection of radiation damage to critical normal tissue, all patients received FFSRT with conformal method using irregular static ports. Results: Five of 7 patients showed complete remission in follow-up CT &/or MRI. Three of these five patients who developed marginal, in-field, and out-field recurrences, respectively. Another one of complete responders has been dead of G-I bleeding without evidence of local recurrence. One partial responder who showed progressive disease 15 months after initial FFSRT has received additional FFSRT, and then he is well-being with symptomatic improvement. One minmal responder who showed progression of locoregional disease 9 months after $1^{st}$ FFSRT has received 2nd FFSRT, and then he is alive with stable disease. Five of 7 case had showed direct invasion to skull base and had complaint headache and various symptoms of cranial nerve involvement. Four of these five case showed improvement of neurologic symptoms after FFSRT. No significant neurologic complicaltion related to FFSRT was observed during follow-up periods. Tumor volumes were ranged from 3.9 to 50.7 cc and surface area ranged from 16.1 to $114.9cm^2$. IF ranged from 1.21 to 1.74. The average ratio of volume of prescription isodose shell to target volume was 1.02 that indicated the improvement of target coverage and dose distribution with FFSRT with conformal method compared to target coverage with FFSRT with multiple arc method. Conclusion: Our initial experience suggests that FFSRT with conformal method was relatively effective and safe modality in the treatment of recurrent head and neck cancer involving at or near skull base. Treatment benefit included good palliation of symptoms and reasonable radiographic response. However, more experience and additional follow-up are needed to better assess its ultimate role in treating these challenging patients.

김해 봉황동 유적 대지조성에 대한 소고(小考) (Considerations on ground preparation for the Gimhae Bonghwang-dong Ruins)

  • 금관가야의 중심영역인 김해지역의 봉황동 유적은 문헌 등을 통해 왕궁지로 추정되어 왔으며, 현재 국립가야문화재 연구소에서 조사 중이다. 본 연구소에서는 유적의 북편에 트렌치를 기반층까지 하강 제토하여 조사를 실시한 결과, 대부분 굴로 구성된 패각층을 확인하였고, 물성이 다른 흙을 교호성토하여 정지 후 생활면을 마련한 것을 알 수 있었다. 이는 곧 봉황동 유적에서 성벽이나 제방 등과 같이 대규모의 노동력을 필요로 하는 대지조성을 위한 성토작업이 이루어졌음을 짐작케 한다. 성토층 내 유기물 및 목탄의 연대 분석 결과, 동일한 패각층에서 각기 다른 결과의 연대값을 나타내거나, 상하층의 연대가 하층보다 상층이 시기를 앞서는 결과값이 도출되는 등 층서적으로 혼란된 양상을 보였다. 또한 외해성규조가 유적 내 퇴적층을 비롯해서 유구 내에서도 관찰되므로, 유적의 대지조성을 위한 성토재를 주변에서 들여온 것으로 판단된다. 소위 '봉황토성'이라고 불리는 토성 내에 자리한 본 유적은 여러 발굴기관에서 토성 추정범위 내 조사가 이루어진 삼국시대 유적들의 대지조성층과도 유사하다. 이것은 곧 봉황동 유적을 비롯한 주변 유적들의 당시 입지환경이 고김해만의 영향권에 있어 지반을 견고하게 하기 위해 전술한 바와 같이 유적 일대의 성토가 이루어졌음을 알 수 있다. 발굴조사를 통한 퇴적층 분석과 토질시험을 통해 안정성이 확보된 성토대지 위에 본 유적이 조성되었음을 검증할 수 있었다. 유적의 성토층 내 수습된 출토유물 분석 및 탄소연대측정 결과, 봉황동 유적은 4세기 대에 이르러 대지조성을 위한 대규모 성토작업을 시행한 것을 알 수 있으며, 이는 곧 금관가야의 위계를 확실하게 보여주는 것이라고 하겠다.

편자 고형엘릭실제의 분체 특성에 미치는 부형제의 영향 (Effect of Additives on the Powder Characteristics of Peonja Dry Elixir)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of additives on the powder characteristics of peonja dry elixir. Peonja dry elixirs were prepared with various amounts of dextrin using a spray-dryer, and their powder characteristics such as flow, cohesion and compressibility were evaluated as an angle of repose, cohesion index and compressibility index, respectively. Their powder characteristics were not significantly different from one another, indicating that the hydrophilic dextrin, a base of dry elixir hardly affected their powder characteristics. Peonja dry elixirs were prepared with 10% dextrin and various amounts of additives such as mannitol (hydrophilic excipient), sodium lauryl sulfate (surfactant), colloidal silica (hydrophobic excipient) and HPMC (polymer), respectively, and their angle of repose, cohesion index and compressibility index were measured. The powder characteristics of peonja dry elixirs prepared with mannitol were not significantly different from one another, indicating that the mannitol scarcely improved the powder characteristics of peonja dry elixirs. The angle of repose and cohesion index of peonja dry elixirs significantly decreased with increasing amount of sodium lauryl sulfate to 0.3% followed by no significant changes in them. The cohesion index of peonja dry elixir significantly decreased with increasing amount of colloidal silica. The angle of repose and cohesion index of peonja dry elixir significantly decreased with increasing amount of HPMC to 0.3% followed by an abrupt increase in them. However, the compressibility index of peonja dry elixir significantly increased with increasing amount of HPMC to 0.3% followed by an abrupt decrease in them. Our results suggested that a small amount of sodium lauryl sulfate, colloidal silica and HPMC improved markedly the powder characteristics of peonja dry elixirs due to forming stronger and less hygroscopic shell of peonja dry elixirs. Among the peonja dry elixirs studied, the peonja dry elixir prepared with 0.3% sodium lauryl sulfate and 0.3% HPMC had the lowest angle of repose of $27^{\circ}$ and cohesion index of 37.8%, and the highest compressibility index of 38.7%, respectively. Thus, sodium lauryl sulfate and HPMC appear to be promising additives for peonja dry elixir, if used in adequate amounts.

소라, Batillus cornutus (Lightfoot, 1786) 혈구의 종류 및 미세구조적 특징 (Ultrastructural Characteristics and Categorization of the Hemocytes in Spiny Top shell, Batillus cornutus (Lightfoot, 1786) (Gastropoda: Turbinidae))

  • 전라남도 완도군 인근연안에서 채집된 소라, Batillus cornutus의 혈구를 광학현미경과 전자현미경을 이용하여 혈구의 종류 및 미세구조적인 특징을 연구하였다. 광학현미경 상에서 소라의 혈구들은 호염기성 세포로 관찰되었다. 혈구의 형태학적인 특징으로 분류를 하였을 때 소라의 혈구는 모두 8종류로 나눌 수 있었다. 미성숙 혈구는 직경 약 4.5-5.5 ${\mu}m$로서 세포질 내에 지름 2-3 ${\mu}m$인 원형의 핵이 대부분을 차지하고 있었다. 과립세포는 직경 약 7 ${\mu}m$로서 세포질에는 전자밀도가 낮고 크기가 다양한 과립들과 미토콘드리아, 글리코겐 과립들이 관찰되었다. 초자세포는 핵의 크기 및 세포질에 존재하는 미세소관의 특징에 따라 6종류로 세분화 할 수 있었다. 초자세포 III은 라이소좀 및 글리코겐 과립의 형성이 미약하여 식세포의 기능 보다는 영양분의 흡수 및 운반 기능을 수행하는 것으로 판단되며, 특히 초자세포 VI은 형태가 불규칙한 아메바형으로 세포질에 글리코겐 과립의 분포가 높고, 이식포와 자식포가 분포하고 있었다. 따라서 이들 혈구들의 정확한 기능을 파악하기 위해서는 효소학적 및 면역학적 연구를 추가적으로 수행해야 할 것으로 판단된다.

윤두서필 노승도의 바탕 종이 고찰 (A Study on Paper of Old Monk by Yun Duseo)

  • 윤두서(尹斗緖)필 노승도(老僧圖)는 은지(銀紙)라는 독특한 바탕재료를 사용한 것으로 알려져 있다. 본 연구에서는 보존 환경에 따라 변색이 쉬운 은이 지금까지 안정적인 상태로 전해지는 원인을 알아보고자 하였다. 연구방법은 문헌 조사, 육안 관찰 및 광학적 조사, XRF 분석으로 표면가공 재료 및 원료 섬유를 분석하였고, 이를 근거로 재현 실험을 수행하여 윤두서필 노승도 바탕종이의 제작 재료와 표면가공 기법에 대해 접근하였다. 연구 결과 바탕 종이는 표면 평활성 및 밀도를 향상시키기 위하여 다각형의 결정을 가진 무기물에 의한 도침처리를 확인할 수 있었다. 그리고 XRF 분석 결과, 칼슘 함량이 높게 나타나 기존에 알려진 은(銀)이 아니라 전복 등의 패각류를 분쇄하여 표면 처리한 것으로 추정하였다. 따라서 칼슘 함량이 높은 재료인 패각류를 대상 재료로 한정하고, 그 중에서도 현재 가공되지 않은 패 상태의 전복을 대상 시료로 선정하여 재현 실험을 수행하였다. 전복패를 사용한 재현 실험을 통해 노승도 바탕 종이에 사용된 무기질은 패각류일 가능성이 높은 것으로 확인되었다. 다만 유물과 유사한 수준의 평활도와 광택을 재현하는 데는 한계가 있었으며 이에 대해 보다 세밀한 연구가 필요할 것으로 사료된다.

참굴, Crassostrea gigas의 생식주기와 성 성숙 유도 (Reproductive Cycle and Induced Sexual Maturation of the Pacific Oyster, Crassostrea gigas)

  • Reproductive cycle, the condition index, sex ratio of the Pacific oysters, Crassostrea gigas were investigated by histological and morphometric data. The specimens were collected in the two oyster farms of Geoje and Namhae, Gyeongsangnam-do, Korea, from November 1995 to October 1996. Growth of shell length in two regions was similar, but growth of total weight of the oyster in Namhae was faster than that in Geoje oyster farm. The spawning periods in female and male clams were from July to October in Geoje and from June to October in Namhae oyster farm. Ripe oocytes were approximately 50 m in diameter. The reproductive cycle of in females and males in Geoje and Namhae oyster farms can be divided into five successive stages: early developing, late developing, ripe, partially spawned and spent/inactive. Monthly changes in gonad developmental phases showed somewhat different patterns between female and male clams except for the spawning period. On the whole, however, monthly changes in the gonad developmental phases showed a similar pattern in the same sex. The sex ratios of females to males in Geoje and Namhae oyster farms were not significantly different from a 1:1 sex ratio ($x^2$ = 0.55 (p > 0.05) in Geoje and $x^2$ = 0.27 ( p > 0.05) in Namhae). Artificial induction of maturation by heating of adult oysters (two-year-old) was investigated from 17 January to 18 March in 1996. Maturity at the fixed water temperature group of $20^{\circ}C$ was 80%, it showed the highest maturity of experimental groups cultured for five weeks. The survival (%) of Crassostrea gigas in the raised water temperature experimental groups (15, 20, $25^{\circ}C$) were over 98.5%, as similar to the control group (100%). But, the survival of C. gigas in the fixed water temperature experimental groups (15, 20, 25, $30^{\circ}C$) were decreased with the increase of the water temperatures. In the fixed water temperature experimental group of $30^{\circ}C$, the survival was 51.1%. Base on these results, the fixed water temperature of $20^{\circ}C$ was the best condition for artificial induction of sexual maturation.
