  • The age and physical condition of users who use public libraries are becoming diverse in recent years. The need for universal design is recognized as important to create a public library with a convenient and pleasant environment in consideration of various users. The purpose of this research is to propose the universal design application method after analyzing level of application of common spaces in public libraries. First, the environment related to 'Perceptable Information' with low level of universal design should be improved first. Second, it is important to apply it from the initial planning phase to create a more advanced universal design environment. Third, careful consideration and awareness of all users of the library should precede to engance 'Flexibility in Use' related environment.

  • Purpose : Due to the shortage of the room for the disabled, it may be difficult to use the accommodation for the disabled (especially wheelchair users). The purpose of this paper is to propose a universal design(UD) application for all rooms to solve the problems caused by the shortage and the decrease of the usage rate of the rooms for the disabled. Methods : Classify and analyze the type of room and bathroom according to the survey. The space of the room is classified into six types mainly based on the relation and location among the entrance, the bathroom, and the bedroom. Also, the bathroom is classified into 20 types considering the positional relationship with the entrance and between sanitary fixture. By using these types, FGI survey will be conducted and the application of UD will be reviewed and presented. Results : We analyzed by using the types of the room and the bathroom. One of majority type in the actual research and two of UD applicable types from FGI, are shown UD application. In addition, the bathroom were analyzed about four types from FGI. The room were shown about the activity space and the furniture layout for UD. The bathroom were shown about the space for the entrance, the internal activitiy space and the arrangement of the sanitary fixture. Implications : By comparing and analyzing through type classification, it was found that universal design can be applied to all rooms. Therefore, it is expected that the UD will be activated in all rooms of the accommodation.

  • Purpose: Sports activities for life are an opportunity to fulfill the basic desire to be healthy and participate in society of the individual level, and it is also the realization of the trend of living together with persons without disabilities and persons with disabilities at the level of social inclusion. I try to propose to improve sports participation of persons with disabilities from the point of view of 'Universal Design.' Methods: Firstly, analysing of previous studies which to classify the barrier free certification standards to universal design's 7 principles and which to investigate public sports facilities. Secondly, reanalyzing, based on UD 7 principles, the raw data of the research results of public sports facilities in Seoul. Thirdly. then, I suggest the improvement plan to promote public sports facilities for all the people including persons with disabilities. Results: The results of this study are that although the facilities have the basic accessibility, there were some inconveniences in using the facility for the elderly and the disabled. So I suggest a few method to improve the public sports facilities from the perspective of universal design : 1) Needs to expand 'Bandabi Sports Center' as a sports facilities for sports activities for life of all of people, 2) Needs to improve accessibility of existing public sports facilities and to raise awareness for the persons with disabilities and universal design, 3) Needs to produce 'UD guidelines' for the sports facilities.

ETC" Revised Enforcement regulation [Asterisk 1] (2018.2.10.) and to help with making plans, designs and establishing policies by conducting experimental study with the enhanced floor area regulations. Methods: We conduct Experimental study, field work and interview for this paper. In experimental study, verification of the effective floor area was proceeded by measuring activity space for people in manual wheelchair, electric wheel chair and electric scooter and also reviewed useable area with the space expanded 0.2m both width and depth. In filed work, conducted an observation what other things (ex. sanitary equipment, hand rail and so on) can also affect the active space as well as effective floor space. In the interview, other problems and requirements that were not revealed were experimental study and observation of field work. Results : it's expected to provide better access to toilets for the disabled with the law revision of effective floor area. But, with the usage increasement of enlarged wheel chair and electric wheel chair, expanding side areas of toilet is also highly likely to be required going forward. Implications : Additional research is required on locations of exists and internal arrangement that effect the usage of toilet. It should be led to Universal design by making additional investigation and verification of the users patterns.

  • The purpose of this study is to propose the clue of planning guideline for the elderly welfare center supporting the healthy life of the elderly through deriving the planning element of the elderly welfare center based on the Salutogenic Model(SM). The research method was proceeded with literature review. The meaning of Sense of Coherence(SOC) and Generalised Resistance Resources(GRR) which constitute Salutogenic Model is established. The correlation between SOC and GRR is analyzed. The conclusions of this study are as follows. First, EBD, BD, HD, UD, and BFD were studied as planning theories that could enhance the SOC of space. Second, based on the five planning theories, 43 planning elements needed for the elderly welfare center plan were derived. Third, as a result of classifying the plan elements based on the SOC, 'Manageability' is divided into 22 elements, 'Meaningfulness' is 11 and 'Comprehensibility' is 10 elements. Fourth, the details of the SOC items for each theory are as follows: BFD focuses on 'Manageability' with 'Manageability'(74%) and 'Comprehensibility'(26%), but 'Meaningfulness' does not exist. And UD regards 'Comprehensibility'(66%) as important, and 'Manageability' and 'Meaningfulness' as 17%. BD, on the other hand, has a high percentage of 'Meaningfulness'(70%), 'Comprehensibility'(21%) and 'Manageability'(9%). Next, the 'Manageability' of HD and EBD is 46%. And HD was 'Meaningfulness'(34%), 'Comprehensibility'(20%), and EBD was 'Meaningfulness'(30%) and 'Comprehensibility'(24%). The three items of SOC showed different distribution according to the spatial planning theory. As a result of the analysis, the spatial planning theory with the 'Comprehensibility' was related to Universal Design(UD), and the spatial planning theory with the 'Manageability' was related to Barrier-Free Design(BFD). In addition, the spatial planning theory of 'Meaningfulness' was related to Bio-philic Design(BD). Therefore, the plan of the elderly welfare center needs to approach the multidimensional design methodology to enhance the SOC(Sense of Coherence).

  • The purpose of this study was to explore the domestic and overseas home modification policies, and review the direction of domestic home modification policies to enable 'Aging In Place; AIP' and the competencies required of occupational therapist as and expert in home modification. In order to expand occupational therapy for domestic home modification and strengthen occupational therapist competency, it is required to establish a clear and practical home modification process that reflects the design and intervention of occupational therapy. Appropriate selection and standardization of the evaluation tools that identifies the needs of the elderly and reflects the characteristics of domestic housing types are also required. In addition, it is necessary to understand policies and systems, and endeavour to establish a relevant knowledge base for communication and cooperation with experts in other fields. In terms of the policy, there is a need for the home modification support system that allows the elderly to adapt to their aging regardless of their income level, beyond the existing support system, which was implemented mainly for low-income people and disabled. In addition, as in overseas cases, the efforts need to be made to provide various and efficient measures, such as support for barrier-free housing, expansion of the scope of support through cooperation between the national government and local governments, low-interest loans and tax reductions, and establishment of governance with organizations and institutions related to home modification services.

  • Twenty four fractions by solvent extraction and/or acid precipitation from fruit body and culture broth of Inonotus obliquus were prepared, and their inhibitory effect against acetylcholinesterase (AChE) was investigated. Among these fractions, acid (1 M HCl) precipitates from cell-free culture broth and fruit body exhibited the highest inhibitory effect on AChE in vitro. Acid precipitates inhibited AChE activity in a concentration-dependant manner and $IC_{50}$ values of both acid precipitates were 0.53 mg/mL. The inhibition pattern was general non-competitive inhibition. The energetic parameters were also determined by dual substrate/temperature design. Both acid precipitates increased the values of Ea, ${\Delta}H,/;{\Delta}G$ and ${\Delta}H^{\ast}$ decreasing the value of ${\Delta}S$ for AChE. The results implied that the acid precipitates from I. obliquus increased the thermodynamic barrier, leading to the breakdown of ES complex and the formation of products as inhibitory mechanism.

  • Purpose: The first thing to be done in promoting community care is local diagnosis. Therefore, this study attempted to derive the physical infrastructure to be diagnosed, and to develop diagnostic items and diagnostic indicators applicable to this. Methods:: First, the physical infrastructure related to the community care is derived. And the diagnosis items are derived using the checklist of 'community support and health services' in the WHO Guide for Global age-friendly cities. Next, by analyzing previous studies, we develop diagnostic indicators for each diagnostic item and explore their applicability. Results: As a result of deriving the physical infrastructure for each area of housing, health service, and nursing care for community care, 22 facilities were derived for 9 types. Diagnosis items for the facilities are 1)regional equity, 2)proximity between facilities, 3)transportation access, 4)regional use, 5)barrier-free design, 6)diversity of facilities, and a total of 14 diagnostic indicators was derived. We reviewed and suggested the applicability of diagnostic items and indicators by each physical infrastructure. Implications: For the realization of community care, local diagnosis should not be limited to sim- ply grasping the presence or absence of facilities and the total amount. Instead it should strengthen capabilities by conducting diagnosis to understand the performance of facilities.
