Empirical Study for the Technological Forecasting using Delphi Method

  • In this paper, we evaluated the technological forecasting based on questionnaires of experts working in internet-banking industry. We prepared questionnaires on the 13 items. We examined specialties of respondents, relative importance of research contents, expected time of realization, likelihood of conviction on the expected time of realization, and their opinions on the levels of domestic's research and development comparing with advanced standards on each item. And we made various analysis based on data collected from Delphi method.

  • 본 연구는 국내 은행산업의 대형화 및 시장집중도 상승에 따른 은행서비스 시장의 경쟁저하 및 독과점화 우려에 대해 실증적인 분석을 시도한 것이다. 실증분석은 1996년 1월부터 2002년 12월까지 84개월 동안의 은행산업 관련자료를 이용한 Bresnahan-Lau 방법, 즉 은행서비스에 대한 수요함수와 공급함수를 추정하는 방법으로 진행되었다. 추정결과는 전체 표본기간 동안에는 국내 은행산업이 완전경쟁 수준의 가격설정행태(pricing behavior)를 보였으며, 시장집중도 상승을 고려하여 표본기간을 구분할 경우 구분시점에 따라 다소 차이는 있으나, 일반적인 우려와는 달리 시장집중도가 상승한 이후에 적어도 현재까지는 경쟁이 저하되지는 않았다는 것을 시사하고 있다.

  • This study aims to provide the system to help decision making by finding key indicators used in land supply and demand surveys, and by developing storage priority areas and projects. As problems arose such as the rising cost of public projects or disruptions to business progress due to the rapid rise in land prices and the cost of compensation for public projects in the past, a new land policy was adopted and the land reserve system was established in 2009. At that time, The bank's goal was to conserve 2 trillion won of land per year, but the result was sluggish as it accumulated a total of 1.6 trillion won from 2009 to 2015. The reason for this sluggish result is that the type and quantity of indicators are still extensive and the survey of land supply and demand has a problem of poor utilization. In order to make up for the sluggishness, we made key indicators used in land supply and demand surveys using the question investigation, and analyzed the priority of the project areas. This study provide the system to help decision making by finding key indicators used in land supply and demand surveys, and the priorities of project areas.

Determinants of Corporate Social Responsibility Disclosure: A Case Study of Banking Industry in Indonesia

  • The disclosure of corporate social responsibility (CSR) is an important part of the company. CSR disclosure (CSRD) is interesting to study because CSRD in the annual reports is very important in terms of attaining company objectives to satisfy the interests of stakeholders; protect employee's interests; clarify the extent of contribution of the company in both CSR activities and CSRD; assist appropriate investment decisions. This study examines the structure of share ownership and company size as determinants of CSRD in the banking industry. We use a quantitative approach in this approach, in which researchers start with hypotheses and then collect data that can be used to determine whether empirical evidence to support that hypothesis exists. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling so that the research sample was 14 banking companies that are listed on the Indonesian Capital Market Directory from 2015-2017. Data analysis techniques using multiple linear regression determined the relationship between research variables. The results of the study state that managerial ownership, institutional ownership, foreign ownership, and company size affect CSRD. This demonstrates that the role of managerial ownership, institutional ownership, and foreign ownership have an impact on CSRD and are deemed necessary for the corporate environment. Besides, company size determines the activities of CSRD so that it can increase public confidence in the company's operational activities.

  • This paper examines the impact of university social responsibility on brand image and student satisfaction. Social responsibility impact on consumer behavior has been studied extensively. But the same impact has not been rigorously tested to the same extend in the education sector. Firstly, we analyze the perception of university social responsibility (USR) and its components, including (1) the quality of teaching programs, facilities, and academic staff; (2) supporting learning activities; and (3) human resource policies. Secondly, we investigate the relationship between university social responsibility, brand image, and student satisfaction. The study examined these relationships through a proposed economic model based on answers from a survey of 298 students at the University of Food Industry Ho Chi Minh City. From the above survey data, the author proceeds to quantify variables and, based on Cronbach's Alpha reliability coefficient, EFA factor analysis, and linear regression, to measure the impact of each social responsibility factor on business of the university and student satisfaction. The results show that university social responsibility actually affects the university's brand image and student satisfaction. Our findings suggest that universities should develop an appropriate marketing strategy to reinforce brand image and student satisfaction through the university social responsibility model.

Factors Influencing Liquidity Creation among Commercial Banks in Uzbekistan: An Empirical Study

  • The banking industry regulators have imposed on commercial banks to maintain a certain level of liquidity to ensure that they can meet their obligations to the depositors and third parties. This study examines the factors influencing liquidity creation among commercial banks in Uzbekistan. Specifically, this study examines three internal factors namely, risk assets, deposits, and inter-bank loans on the creation of liquidity in commercial banks of Uzbekistan. This study uses content analysis on financial reports of 33 commercial banks in Uzbekistan over 21 years. This study shows all the factors chosen in this study significantly influence liquidity creation among the commercial banks in Uzbekistan. While deposits and inter-bank loans significantly and positively influence liquidity creation, this study shows that risk assets significantly and negatively influence liquidity creation. Further analysis shows that these three factors contribute to a 92.4% variance in liquidity creation among commercial banks in Uzbekistan. The findings of this study provide valuable insights to the stakeholders in the banking industry on the factors influencing liquidity creation in banks. In addition, this study adds to the existing literature by providing insight into the internal factors' role in influencing liquidity creation in the context of an emerging economy.

  • Purpose - The purpose of this study was to analyze cases of big data-driven business in the financial industry, focusing on organizational structure and business processes using big data in banking industry. Design/methodology/approach - This study used a case study approach. To this end, cases of two banks implementing big data-driven business were collected and analyzed. Findings - There are two things in common between the two cases. One is that the central tasks for big data-driven business are performed by a centralized organization. The other is that the role distribution and work collaboration between the headquarters and business departments are well established. On the other hand, there are two differences between the two banks. One marketing campaign is led by the headquarters and the other marketing campaign is led by the business departments. The two banks differ in how they carry out marketing campaigns and how they carry out big data-related tasks. Research implications or Originality - When banks plan and implement big data-driven business, the common aspects of the two banks analyzed through this case study can be fully referenced when creating an organization and process. In addition, it will be necessary to create an organizational structure and work process that best fit the special situation considering the company's environment or capabilities.

  • Purpose This paper tired to identify the consumers' tendency with individual features and social influence as the independent variables because of the importance of identifying the various needs of financial consumers in accordance with the expansion of new financial demands. Furthermore, this paper included the relative attraction of Fintech and switching cost from mobile banking to Fintech as the variables. Design/methodology/approach To analyze the empirical study, data was collected online by conducting the questionnaire survey with 247 individuals who had used the Fintech service. The study results would provide us with the understandings of the factors influencing on the customer satisfaction and switching value recognized by consumers in case of switching from the existing mobile banking to the Fintech service. Findings The results would provide useful implications to the academic and the practical fields including the Fintech enterprises expanding the activation of Fintech industry.

  • Mobile financial services with incorporated into IT are actively introduced and being operated worldwide. Meanwhile, a relationship setting of industrial capital and financial capital has a close connection with development process of the financial markets and the economic development. If the relationship setting of industrial capital and financial capital are right, it will be good opportunity to ensure economic development, positive economic effect and global competitiveness of the financial industry as other developed countries. In order to expand the positive effects of these mobile financial services, a ICT companies, etc. should ease regulations to allow entry to the mobile financial services market. That is, the separation of banking and commerce should be abolished.

  • 오늘날 금융 서비스 산업의 패러다임은 모바일 뱅킹으로 이동하고 있으며 각 금융 기업은 다양한 모바일 뱅킹 서비스를 제공하고 있다. 모바일 뱅킹 서비스 혁신으로 인터넷전문은행이 출범하였지만, 출범 후 증가한 가입자 수에 비해 실제 이용자 수는 이에 미치지 못하고 있다. 따라서 본 연구는 인터넷전문은행 이용자의 지속 사용 의도에 영향을 미치는 요인을 업무-기술 적합(Task-Technology Fit; TTF) 이론을 적용하여 알아보고자 한다. 본 연구 수행을 위해 인터넷전문은행 서비스 사용 경험이 있는 사람들을 대상으로 설문을 실시한 후 측정 모형 분석과 구조방정식 모형 테스트를 수행하였다. 연구 결과 기술 특성과 업무-기술 적합성, 업무-기술 적합성과 지속 사용 의도는 유의미한 상관관계를 갖는 것으로 확인되었다. 본 연구 결과를 통해 인터넷전문은행 운영자에게 이용자 확보 및 유지 방안의 시사점 제공을 기대한다.
