  • An optimize delectroabsorption modulator structure is designed for high speed optical communication systems considering the extinction efficiency, operating bandwidth, polarization loss, and wavelength chirping. the operating wavelength region is $1.55\mu\textrm{m}$ and the deep ridge structure is adapted for th eminimum polarization loss. Simulations show that the absorption layer thickness larger than $0.25\mu\textrm{m}$, and the modulator length shorter than $200\mu\textrm{m}$ are required for the bandwidth over 10GHz. To obtain the modulatiron efficiency over 10dB/V, a wavelength detuning needs to be determined less than 40meV.

  • This paper presents high-spread (HS) random interleavers based interleave-division multiple access (IDMA) scheme for the 4th generation mobile radio system. High-spread feature of a random interleaver offers high-spread characteristics to interleavers and thus produces extrinsic values with low correlation. As interleavers are key components for user separation in the IDMA, the HS interleavers with this feature are employed and analyzed in the IDMA for performance improvement. In addition, by replacing random interleavers with the HS interleavers in the IDMA, bandwidth efficiency is achieved by means of reducing the length of the repetition code. Performance evaluation shows that the proposed scheme of the IDMA with the HS interleavers provides superior BER performance and improved bandwidth efficiency.

  • Nowadays, NGN(Next Generation Network) is evolving into network with packet based QoS.\ulcorner This paper presents the recovery method as a selecting way of more efficient path in MPLS network that reduces the service interruption time. In order to increase the efficiency of usage of recovering resource which is one of major functions of disorder recovering, it opens the state information of each Node both to fault detector and bandwidth broker so that it reduces message transmission time for recovery when functional disorder occurs. in addition, by effective management and adjustment of required bandwidth of entire network depending on the changes of traffic load, it improves the efficiency of bandwidth usage. and in MPLS network supporting priority selection function, it allocates domains depending on the traffic relating to priority order to the entire network so that\ulcorner it efficiently allocates proper resources to the restoring process between the entry and the end for the traffic of high priority and for low priority traffic, it restores path oかy inside disordered domain. by doing this, it reduces resetting time and unnecessary massage transmission.

  • In order to control interference and improve spectrum efficiency in the femtocell and macrocell overlaid system (FMOS), we propose a joint frequency bandwidth dynamic division, clustering and power control algorithm (JFCPA) for orthogonal-frequency-division-multiple access-based downlink FMOS. The overall system bandwidth is divided into three bands, and the macro-cellular coverage is divided into two areas according to the intensity of the interference from the macro base station to the femtocells, which are dynamically determined by using the JFCPA. A cluster is taken as the unit for frequency reuse among femtocells. We map the problem of clustering to the MAX k-CUT problem with the aim of eliminating the inter-femtocell collision interference, which is solved by a graph-based heuristic algorithm. Frequency bandwidth sharing or splitting between the femtocell tier and the macrocell tier is determined by a step-migration-algorithm-based power control. Simulations conducted to demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed algorithm showed the frequency-reuse probability of the FMOS reuse band above 97.6% and at least 70% of the frequency bandwidth available for the macrocell tier, which means that the co-tier and the cross-tier interference were effectively controlled. Thus, high spectrum efficiency was achieved. The simulation results also clarified that the planning of frequency resource allocation in FMOS should take into account both the spatial density of femtocells and the interference suffered by them. Statistical results from our simulations also provide guidelines for actual FMOS planning.

  • Today, internet traffic is rapidly increasing by the appearance of a large number of website thru a numerous internet service provider and the introduction of advanced teaching methods like utilizing ICT(Information and Communication Technology) education. At these actualities, it is requested to increase internet bandwidth in the scene of school; however, it is difficult to resolve the request quickly because of the government's budget and technical problems. In this circumstance, this paper proposes a method to raise the efficiency of internet operations with the current bandwidth. In order to achieve the purpose of this paper, the analysis of internet traffic has been done by the traffic currently being used in school, and an internet bandwidth distribution model differ from the existing standpoint is developed with the analyzed result. It can be used to predict the increase in the bandwidth which may be requested at school in the future, and it can support the office of education for appropriate bandwidth allocation at schools and reduction of school budget in telecommunication. Also, it can be adopted as a future oriented reference model for network policy.

  • A multi-code biorthogonal code keying(MBCK) system consists of multiple waveform coding block, and the sum of output codewords is transmitted. Drawback of MBCK is that it requires amplifier with high linearity because its output symbol is multi-level. MBCK with constant amplitude preceding blcok(CA-MBCK) has been proposed, which guarantees sum of orthogonal codes to have constant amplitude. Redundant bits of CA-MBCK for constant amplitude coding are not only used to make constant amplitude signal but also used to improve the bit error rate(BER) performance at receiver. In this paper, we proposed a transmission scheme which combine CA-MBCK with $Q^{2}PSK$ to improve bandwidth efficiency of CA-MBCK. The BER performance of the scheme is same that of CA-MBCK in additive white gaussian noise(AWGN). And we showed that BER performance of the proposed system can be improved using redundant bits of constant amplitude preceding.

  • Mobile portable devices for wireless network solely depend on a limited battery power. Therefore, we need to design for wireless communication protocols with an energy efficiency. TCP-Westwood is one of the most important approaches on TCP performance improvement in wireless environments that estimates the available bandwidth by using the sampling mechanism. The advantage is that data can be transmitted efficiently using the estimation of available bandwidth. However, when the sender with TCP-Westwood is in a wireless environment, it does not consider of the sampling mechanism operation. In this thesis, a new energy saving transport protocol, called E2TP(Energy Efficient Transport Protocol), is proposed to solve problems which occur when the sender with TCP-Westwood is in a wireless environment. Also, when there are packet loss while doing frequent link error in a wireless environment, E2TP provides the instantaneous segment size adjustment for a more efficient data retransmission. The simulation result proves that the proposed E2TP has better performance in energy efficiency and throughput than both TCP and TCP-Westwood.

  • This paper researches on the scheme superimposing the rotation phases over the pilot and data symbols in order to reduce the peak-to-average power ratio(PAPR) of the orthogonal frequency division multiplexing(OFDM) communication. The bandwidth and power efficiency are the main consideration. The phases of rotation vector are added to those of both pilot symbols and data symbols interlaying between any two pilot symbols in an OFDM block. Owing to this scheme the transmitter reduces the PAPR using the partial transmit sequences(PTS) and the receiver restores the data symbol utilizing the channel estimation of pilot symbols. Therefore, the bandwidth efficiency is accomplished by not using the further subcarriers for the reduction of PAPR and the enormous increase of bit error rate according to the receiving error of the side information, i.e. the phases of rotation vector, is prevented. In other words, both bandwidth-and power-efficiency and quality of communication performance can be improved.

  • When a large sparse matrix is calculated for a horizontal geodetic network adjustment, it needs to go through the process of matrix reordering for the efficiency of time and space. In this study, several reordering methods for sparse matrix were tested, using Sparse Matrix Manipulation System(SMMS) program, total processing time and Fill-in number produced in factorization process were measured and compared. As a result, Minimum Degree(MD) and Mutiple Minimum Degree(MMD), which are based on Minimum Degree are better than Gibbs-Poole-Stockmeyer(GPS) and Reverse Cuthill-Mckee(RCM), which are based on Minimum Bandwidth. However, the method of the best efficiency can be changed dependent on distribution of non-zero elements in a matrix. This finding could be applied to heighten the efficiency of time and storage space for national datum readjustment and other large geodetic network adjustment.
