  • The plasma-sprayed 8%Y$_2$O$_3$-Zirconia coating was studied to know the relationship between phase transformation and wear properties after several heat treatment. Wear tests were carried out with ball on disk on 50N, 70N, 90N. The specimen in this study was cast iron and tests were performed on room temperature. The transformation of phase and residual stress was measured by x-ray diffraction method(XRD) and worn surface were observed by SEM.

인공토조용(人工土槽用) 6분역계(分力計) 개발(開發)에 관한 연구(硏究) (Development of Dynamometer for Soil Bin Experiment)

  • A dynamometer was designed and constructed to measure three directional forces and moments of pull type implement with eliminating the interference between the forces. The dynamometer consists of a linear motion bearing, self-aligning bearings, universal joints, and cantilevers where strain gages were attached. A data acuquisition system was developed to collect data and to analyze them. The data acuquisition system consists of the dynamometer, a potentiometer to measure the implement depth, strain amplifiers, a A/D converter, and an IBM-AT compatible microcomputer. Program, written in C language, was developed to read data from tranducers with given interval, to calculate forces and moments, to display them on screen, and to store them on disk. The calibration results showed that cantilevers had good linearity and there was no interference among directional forces. When applied loads were reduced with constant rate, hysteresis was appeared on the dynamometer. It might to be reduced by using ball bearings instead of self-aligning bearings.

  • We prepared diamond thin films on WC-Co substrate in a mixtured $H_2-CH_4-O_2$, gas, using 13.%MHz RF PACVD. Scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction and Rarnan spectroscopy were used to analyze the characteristics of thin film, and tribometer of ball-on-disk type were used to test the wear resistance between thin film and substrate. The good diamond quality and wear resistance was appeared with cemented tungsten carbide substrate treated with oxygen plasma.

  • As the demand for mechatronic systems and high performance increases in the machinery industry, the importance of improving friction characteristics is emphasized. During relative movement of objects, friction and wear occur on two surfaces in contact, and various methods are being designed to increase the lifespan and energy efficiency of machines. The energy increase effect using lubricants is a well-known method. In this study, a micro-sized rectangular grid pattern was produced by applying a precise micro-pattern photo lithography process. Rectangular grid patterns of the same shape and friction behavior according to the size of the pattern were produced in convex and concave shapes, and the tribological characteristics of each were analyzed.

  • Ball bearings (BB) are generally used in spindle of‘ disk drives at present, but they have been known that BB generate high frequency vibration. Fluid dynamic bearings (FDB) having high-rotational accuracy and small vibration characteristics have been developed as next generation spindles. Especially. a ferro fluid bearing (FFB) spindle has the advantage to prevent leakage and dispersion of lubricating oil using a ferro seal. In this study, we measured damping characteristics and frequency characteristics of these bearing spindles using a high-frequency vibration base. High frequency excitation was added to these bearing spindles mounted on the vibration base, and we proved that FFB and FDB spindles have effective damping.

  • Let D be the open unit disk in the complex plane $\mathbb{C}$. For any q > 0, the operator $Q_q$ defined by $$Q_qf(z)=q\int_{D}\frac{f(\omega)}{(1-z{\bar{\omega}})^{1+q}}d{\omega},\;z{\in}D$$. maps $L^{\infty}(D)$ boundedly onto $B_q$ for each q > 0. In this paper, weighted Bloch spaces $\mathcal{B}_q$ (q > 0) are considered on the open unit ball in $\mathbb{C}^n$. In particular, we will investigate the possibility of extension of this operator to the Weighted Bloch spaces $\mathcal{B}_q$ in $\mathbb{C}^n$.

  • Point contact film thickness in elastohydrodynamic lubrication (EHL) is analyzed by the image processing method for the monochromatic incident light. Interference between the reflected lights both on Cr coating of glass disk and on super finished ball makes circular fringes, which are regarded as film thickness together with numbering of fringe order. In this study, we developed technology to measure the film thickness by analyzing dark and bright intensity waves which results from monochrome green light. Two typical fringe patterns only with intensity values 3re examined for the measurement of point contact EHL film thickness. We expect that this technology will give valuable clue to improve color image processing analysis for high resolution of EHL film thickness with white incident light.

실험적 방법에 의한 파인세라믹스의 연삭성에 관한 연구 (A study on the Grindability of Fine Ceramics by Experimental Method)

  • This paper describes the characteristics of high speed grinding and the influence of wheel surface speed V and a grindability of the grinding materials. The various fine ceramics pieces was ground by metal and vitrified bonded diamond wheel. The surface roughness of fine ceramics(Zirconia($ZrO_2$), Silicon Carbide(SiC), Silicon Nitride($Si_3N_4$), Alumina($Al_2O_3$)) decreases from $0.05{\mu}m(R_{max})$ to $0.025{\mu}m(R_{max})$ when the wheel speed at grinding point increases the wheel speed. Relation between the temperature at grinding point and surface roughness was linear. Abrasive jet machining(AJM), a specialized from of shot blasting, is considered one of the most helpful micro machining methods for hard and brittle materials such as glasses and ceramics by constant pressure grinding.

  • 본 연구에서는 저온에서 증착이 가능한PECVD법을 이용하여 아르곤 가스 및 아세틸렌 가스 비율에 따른 기계적 구조적 특성 확인을 확인 후 공정압력 변화 실험을 통하여 DLC코팅의 특성을 확인하였다. 기계적 특성을 확인하기 위하여 나노인덴터를 이용하여 경도 및 탄성률을 측정하였으며, ball-on disk를 이용하여 마찰계수를 확인하였다. 각 샘플들의 부식 저항 특성을 확인하기 위하여 $1mole\;H_2SO_4+2ppm\;HF$ 분위기의 전해질 내에서 동전위 분극시험을 통한 내식성 테스트를 하였으며, 구조적 특성은 라만분광법을 이용하여 박막내의 sp3와 sp2 bond의 비율 변화를 확인하였다.

Cr Interlayer 삽입에 따른 Cr-Al-Si-N 코팅과 SUS 304 기판의 밀착 특성 연구 (Effects of Cr Interlayer on Adhesion Properties between Cr-Al-Si-N Coatings and SUS 304 Substrate)

  • 이 연구에서는 SUS304 기판과 Cr-Al-Si-N 코팅사이의 밀착특성을 향상시키기 위하여 하이브리드 증착법으로 Cr Interlayer를 기판위에 증착시킨 후 Cr-Al-Si-N 코팅을 증착하였다. 그리고 Ball-on-disk 마모테스트와 스크래치 테스트를 통해 밀착력, 파괴기구, 그리고 마찰거동 등을 살펴보았다. Cr-Al-Si-N 코팅에 60nm 두께의 Cr Interlayer 삽입되었을 때는 기판에 Cr-Al-Si-N 코팅만 증착되었을 때의 밀착력(${\sim}30N$) 보다 더 우수한 ${\sim}50N$의 밀착력을 나타내었고 내마모성 또한 향상되었다. 밀착력 증가는 Cr Interlayer 삽입에 따른 SUS304 기판과 Cr-Al-Si-N 코팅사이의 전단응력 감소에 기인한 것으로 사료된다.
