기계적 합금화과정에서의 in situ 열분석에 의한 Ti-25.0~37.5at%Si 분말의 합성거동 (Synthesis Behavior of Ti-25.0~37.5at%Si Powders by In situ Thermal Analysis during Mechanical Alloying)

  • Mechanical alloying (MA) of Ti-25.0~37.5at%Si powders was carried out in a high-energy ball mill, and in situ thermal analysis was also made during MA. In order to classify the synthesis behavior of the powders with respect to at%Si, the synthesis behavior during MA was investigated by in situ thermal analysis and X-ray diffraction (XRD). In situ thermal analysis curves and XRD patterns of Ti-25.0~26.1at%Si powders showed that there were no peaks during MA, indicating $Ti_{5}$ $Si_3$ was synthesised by a slow reaction of solid state diffusion. Those of Ti-27.1~37.5at%Si powders, however, showed that there were exothermic peaks during MA, indicating $_Ti{5}$ $Si_3$ and$ Ti_3$Si phase formation by a rapid exothermic reaction of self-propagating high-temperature synthesis (SHS). For Ti-27.1~37.5at%Si powders, the critical milling times for SHS decreased from 38.1 to 18.5 min and the temperature rise, ΔT (= peak temperature - onset temperature) increased form $19.5^{\circ}C$ to $26.7^{\circ}C$ as at%Si increased. The critical composition of Si for SHS reaction was found to be 27.1at% and the critical value of the negative heat of formation of Ti-27.1at%Si to be -1.32 kJ/g.

  • Mechanical alloying (MA) of Ti-50.0~66.7at%Si powders was carried out in a high-energy ball mill, and in situ thermal analysis was also made during MA. In order to classify the synthesis behavior of the powders with respect to at%Si, the synthesis behavior during MA was investigated by in situ thermal analysis and X-ray diffraction (XRD). In situ thermal analysis curves and XRD patterns of Ti-50.0~59.6at%Si powders showed that there were exothermic peaks during MA, indicating TiSi, $TiS_2$, and $Ti_{5}$ $Si_4$ phase formation by a rapid exothermic reaction of self-propagating high-temperature synthesis (SHS). Those of Ti-59.8~66.7 at%Si powders, however, showed that there were no peaks during MA, indicating any Ti silicide was not synthesised until MA 240 min. For Ti-50.0~59.6at%Si powders, the critical milling times for SHS increased from 34.5 min to 89.5 min and the temperature rise, $\Delta$T (=peak temperature-onset temperature) decreased form $26.2^{\circ}C$ to $17.1^{\circ}C$ as at%Si increased. The critical composition of Si for SHS reaction was found to be 59.6at% and the critical value of the negative heat of formation of Ti-59.6at%Si to be -1.48 kJ/g.

에어로졸 데포지션 공정으로 제작된 BaTiO3 필름 성장에 출발 원료가 미치는 영향 (Effect of Starting Powder on the Growth of BaTiO3 Film Prepared by Aerosol Deposition Process)

  • Four types of BaTiO3 powders are prepared and successfully deposited on glass and Pt/Si substrates using the aerosol deposition process. Particles with sizes of 0.45 ㎛ and 0.3 ㎛ are selected as the starting powder, while those powders are treated using a different milling method. The jet-milled and ball-milled powders not only showed a smaller particle-size distribution, but compared with the non-milled powder, it also had a higher deposition rate using the uniformly generated aerosol. Although the films deposited using particles with size 0.45 ㎛ exhibited some craters on the surface, significantly flat film surfaces were obtained. However, particles with size 0.3 ㎛ create a slightly rough film surface, but the dielectric constant was greater than in the case involving particles with size 0.45 ㎛. Consequently, a suitably large particle size significantly influences the deposition rate and improvement in the surface roughness, and a uniform particle size distribution appears to contribute to an improved dielectric constant. Therefore, it is believed that the dielectric properties along with the growth characteristics can be enhanced by limiting particle size and shape.

  • In this study, the effects of kaolin addition on the properties of reticulated porous diatomite-kaolin composites are investigated. A reticulated porous diatomite-kaolin composite is prepared using the replica template method. The microstructure and pore characteristics of the reticulated porous diatomite-kaolin composites are analyzed by controlling the PPI value (45, 60, and 80 PPI) of the polyurethane foam (which are used as the polymer template), the ball-milling time (8 and 24 h), and the amount of kaolin (0-50 wt. %). The average pore size decreases as the amount of kaolin increases in the reticulated porous diatomite-kaolin composite. As the amount of kaolin increases, it can be determined that the amount of inter-connected pore channels is reduced because the plate-shaped kaolin particles connect the gaps between irregular diatomite particles. Consequently, a higher kaolin percentage affects the overall mechanical properties by improving the pore channel connectivity. The effect of kaolin addition on the basic properties of the reticulated porous diatomite-kaolin composite is further discussed with characterization data such as pore size distribution, scanning electron microscopy images, and compressive strength.

  • 오늘날 전자부품 산업에 실장기술은 크게 각광을 받고 있다. 페라이트 칩인덕터와 같이 전자부품의 소형화를 위해서는, 쉬트 적층법이나 스크린 인쇄법 등을 위하여 유기용매를 사용하는 세라믹 습식공정이 널리 사용되고 있다. 본연구에서는 물이 혼합된 용매계를 이용한 NiCuZn Ferrite(NCZF) 슬러리와 그린쉬트의 제조 및 평가에 관한 연구를 하였다. 볼밀링에 의하여 21 vol%의 NCZF 슬러리를 제조하였으며, polacrylic vinyl copolymer를 바인더로서 사용하였다. 용매로서는 isopropyl alcohol과 2-butoxy ethanol에 40∼80% 물을 혼합하여 사용하였다. 그 결과, NCZF 슬러리의 분산안정성은 입자의 정전기적 힘보다는 free polymer에 의해 나타났으며, 슬러리의 점성은 용매중의 물함량에 크게 의존하였다.

  • SiO and graphite composite has been prepared by adopting high energy ball milling technique. The anode material shows high initial discharge and charge capacity values of 1138 and 568 mAh/g, respectively. Since the materials formed during initial discharge process the nano silicon/$Li_4SiO_3\;and\;Li_2O$ remains as interdependent, it may be expected that the composite exhibiting higher amount of irreversible capacity$(Li_2O)$ will deliver higher reversible capacity. In this study, pretreatment method of constant current-constant voltage (CC-CV) Provided high coulombic efficiency of SiO/C composite electrode removing the greater part of irreversible capacity.

  • 수용액 매체에서 젤케스팅을 이용하여 복잡한 형상의 세라믹스를 제조하기 위한 새로운 공정을 연구하였다 용융실리카 분말과 첨가제로서 지르콘과 코디어라이트 조성으로 혼합된 현탁액을 electrosteric 방법으로 안정화시켰다. 슬립은 다성분계 세라믹 현탁액에 단량체, 이량체 그러고 분산제를 혼합하고, 볼밀하여 준비하였다. 슬립의 유동학적 특성을 평가하기 위해 점도를 측정하였으며 , 낮은 점도를 갖는 50vo1%의 고농도 다성분계 세라믹 슬립의 제조가 가능하였다. 슬립의 점도는 고분자 분산제의 함량과 단량체 및 이량체의 혼합비에 크게 의존하였다. 성형체는 안정화시킨 슬립을 몰드에 부어 상온에서 젤화시킨 후 $25^{\circ}C$, 80~85% 상대습도 분위기 하에서 48시간동안 건조시켜 제조하였으며 건조된 성형체에는 균열이 발생하지 않았다.

테이프 캐스팅법에 의한 MCFC Anode용 Ni-WC 박판 제조 (Sheet fabrication of Ni-WC anode for Molten Carbonate Fuel Cell by Tape Casting Method)

  • MCFC 작동온도인 $650^{\circ}C$에서 음극의 creep과 소결에 의한 구조적 변형을 막기 위해 기계적 합금법에 의한 Ni-WC분말을 합금화하여 변형에 대한 저항성을 증대시키고자 하였다. 80시간동안 어트리션 밀링을 실시한 분말은 XRD 분석결과 결정규칙이 파괴된 비정질 상을 보였다. 제조된 분말은 적당한 점도의 슬러리로 제조후 테이프 캐스팅법에 의해 green sheet를 제조하였다. 제조된 박판의 두께는 0.9mm였고, 평균 기공 크기는 $3~5{\mu\textrm{m}}$, 기공율은 55%였다. 소결체의 XRD 분석결과 2차성은 생성되지 않았으며, SEM 및 dot-Mapping image를 통해 Ni matrix 안에 W 입자가 미세하고 균일하게 분포되어 있어 고용강화 및 분산강화를 통해 Ni 음극의 기계적 특성을 향상시킬 것으로 기대된다.

저/고분자량 키토산에 의한 종래형 치과용 글라스아이오노머 시멘트의 강화 (Strengthening of conventional dental glass ionomer cement by addition of chitosan powders with low or high molecular weight)

  • The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of chitosan powder addition on the strengthening of conventional glass ionomer cement. Two types of chitosan powders with different molecular weight were mixed with conventional glass ionomer cement (GIC): low-molecular weight chitosan (CL; 50~190 kDa), high-molecular weight chitosan (CH; 310~375 kDa). The chitosan powders (CL and CH) were separately added into the GIC liquid (0.25-0.5 wt%) under magnetic stirring, or mixed with the GIC powder by ball-milling for 24 h using zirconia balls. The mixing ratio of prepared cement was 2:1 for powder to liquid. Net setting time of cements was measured by ISO 9917-1. The specimens for the compressive strength (CS; $4{\times}6mm$), diametral tensile strength (DTS; $6{\times}4mm$), three-point flexure (FS; $2{\times}2{\times}25mm$) with flexure modulus (FM) were obtained from cements at 1, 7, and 14 days after storing in distilled water at $(37{\pm}1)^{\circ}C$. All mechanical strength tests were conducted with a cross-head speed of 1 mm/min. Data were statistically analyzed by one-way ANOVA and Tukey HSD post-hoc test. The mechanical properties of conventional glass ionomer cement was significantly enhanced by addition of 0.5 wt% CL to cement liquid (CS, DTS), or by addition of 10 wt% CH (FS) to cement powder. The CL particles incorporated into the set cement were firmly bonded to the GIC matrix (SEM). Within the limitation of this study, the results indicated that chitosan powders can be successfully added to enhance the mechanical properties of conventional GIC.

펄스전류 활성 소결에 의한 나노구조 Al2TiO5 화합물 제조 및 기계적 특성 (Mechanical Properties and Fabrication of Nanostructured Al2TiO5 Compound by Pulsed Current Activated Sintering)

  • Nano powders of $Al_2O_3$ and $TiO_2$ compounds made by high energy ball milling were pulsed current activated sintered for studying their sintering behaviors and mechanical properties. The advantage of this process is that it allows very quick densification to near theoretical density and inhibition of grain growth. Nano-structured $Al_2TiO_5$ with small amount of $Al_2O_3$ and$TiO_2$ was formed by sintering at $1300^{\circ}C$ for 5 minute, in which average grain size was about 96 nm. Hardness and fracture toughness of the nano-structured $Al_2TiO_5$ compound with a small amount of $Al_2O_3$ and$TiO_2$ were $602kg/mm^2$ and $2.6MPa{\cdot}m^{1/2}$, respectively.
