  • Recently, mukbang and cookbang or cooking shows on TV and YouTube channels have increased, and the influences of these broadcasts on food consumption have been gradually increasing. There were several news articles on 'Baek Jong-won effect', in which the consumption of the agri-food Mr. Jong-won Baek mentioned on his broadcast soared, and even foods named after him are on the market. In this study, Mr. Jong-won Baek, who produces influential cooking contents through various media, was taken as a representative example. We evaluated if 'Baek Jong-won effect' exists on potato consumption, which Mr. Jong-won Baek broadcasted potato cooking recipes on TV and YouTube. After the potato recipe was broadcasted for the first time on the TV show called HomeFoodRescue, the differences in the amount of money to purchase potatoes before and after the broadcast were estimated by using the money amount to purchase data of Agri-food consumers panel and the difference-in-differences method at 6 time points (3, 6, 9, 12, 24, and 36 months). Among the time points analyzed, the potato purchases at post-broadcast were less than those at pre-broadcast. No results were observed suggesting the existence of 'Baek Jong-won effect' on potato consumption through HomeFoodRescue show in the study.

  • Wm was isolated from Cynanchum wilfordii (Asclepiadaceae) as a mixture form of polypregnane glycosides that included wilfoside K1N and wilfoside C1N. In the present study, we investigated the anti-angiogenic effect of wilfoside glycosides using in vivo and in vitro assay systems. We first demonstrated that concentrated conditioned media obtained from Wm-treated HepG2 human hepatoblastoma cells blocked the angiogenic activation of Wm-untreated concentrated conditioned media, suggesting that Wm may have an inhibitory effect on tumor-induced angiogenesis. • The full NMR assignment of hispidulin 7-0-neohesperidoside (1) isolated from Cirsium japonicum var. ussuriense was made with the aid of 2D correlation NMR techniques such as HMQC and HMBC. To investigate detoxification of bromobenzene-induced hepatic lipid peroxidation by compound 1, hepatic lipid peroxide level and the activities of enzymes responsible for production and removal of epoxide were studied. The level of lipid peroxide elevated by bromobenzene was significantly reduced by compound 1. This compound administered daily over one week before intoxication with bromobenzene did not affect the activities of aminopyrine N-demethylase, aniline hydroxylase, glutathione S-transferase. Epoxide hydrolase activity was decreased significantly by bromobenzene, which was restored to the control level by pretreatment of persicarin. The results suggest that the bromobenzene-induced hepatic lipid peroxidation by compound 1 is reduced by enhancing the activity of epoxide hydrolase, an enzyme removing bromobenzene epoxide.

  • Objectives The objective of this study was to investigate the effect of Anti-condensing on the composition of ChondroT Methods Specimens are divided in 7 groups (Control, ChondroT, Lonicerae Folium (Gumenhwa, GEH), Angelicae Gigantis Radix(Danggui, DG), Phellodendri Cortex(HwangBaek, HB), Osterici Radix(Kanghwal, KH), Clematidis Radix(Weeryungsun, WRS)) Each specimen is subjected to a concentration of 20 %, 10 %, and 5 %, and is administered to collagen and thrombin-stimulated platelets. Results In the anticoagulance effect test, Lonicerae Folium and ChondroT very well. The effect was high in order of Lonicerae Folium-Angelicae Gigantis-Phellodendri Cortex-Osterici Radix and Clematidis Radix. Conclusions ChondroT has anti-condensing effects on blood platelet.

  • In this presentation, we investigated the abnormal subthreshold slope of the FD SOI MOSFETs upon the rapid thermal annealing. Based on subthreshold technique and C-V measurement, we deduced that the hump of the subthreshold slope comes from the abnormal D$_{it}$ distribution after RTA. The local kink in the interface trap density distribution by RTA drastically degrades the subthreshold characteristics and mini hump can be eliminated by S-PGA.A.

  • This study has analyzed the effect of the housing affordability improvement of the residents in the metropolitan areas, applying Transit Supportive Home Loan (TSHL) which extends the loan amount according to the transportation cost saving based on Location Efficiency Mortgage (LEM) System in the USA. The previous studies focused on introducing LEM system to Korea, whereas this study has analyzed TSHL effect for the first time, taking into account the situation in Korea. For analysis, The Transportation Savings (TS) is calculated and Housing Affordability Index (HAI) is drawn by applying increased TS and DTI (Debt to Income), so the improvements of housing purchasing ability is examined by HAI's improvement. As a result, transit commute 1 (having own car) and transit commute 2 (without having own cars) respectively produce the TS of monthly average 36 thousand won and 110 thousand won in comparison with car using commute. Each additional loan (TSHL) amounts to 16.57 million won and 54.07 million won. As the distance is farther and the house price cheaper, the improvement of HAI is more outstanding. City hall area showed the highest improvements of HAI by 9.3% (transit commute 1) and 21.9% (transit commute 2) increase, in comparison with car using commute.
