  • We usually divide the noise of exhaust system into pulsation noise and flow noise. Pulsation noise is the shock wave to occur when the burning gas of low pressure emits and include harmonic having basic frequency as the exhaust cycle of engine. Flow noise is the noise that is produced when gas flow emits into the atmosphere through the pipe and has the character of frequency like pink noise which has the high level of high frequency component. A muffler is divided into reflective type and absorptive type. We usually use the muffler compounding the property of them. In this study, it is the case of transfer matrix method that a muffler is compounded to analyze the elements of each section according to sound wave's proceed direction. But we use simple model. So, we use finite element method that takes short time to analyze. Acoustic analysis gives us transfer matrix to use FEA of SYSNOISE and we use STAR-CD for fluid analysis. We made database that is based on analytical results about the muffler of expansion type, extended type, offset type, reverse type, and perforated type and developed the muffler design system to perform work efficiently.

  • Integrated performance test of Chemical and Volume Control System (CVCS) was successfully performed in 1994. However, an extensive effort to correct hardware and software problems in the letdown line was required mainly due to the lack of adequate simulation code to predict the test accurately. Although the LTC computer code was used during the YGN 3'||'&'||'4 NSSS design process, the code can not satisfactorily predict the test due to its insufficient letdown line modeling. This study developed a numerical model to simulate the letdown test by modifying the current LTC code, and then verified the model by comparing with the test data. The comparison shows that the modified LTC computer code can predict the transient behavior of letdown system tests very well. Especially, the model was verified to be able to predict the "Stiction" phenomena which caused instantaneous fluctuations in the letdown backpressure and flowrate. Therefore, it is concluded that the modified LTC computer code with the ability of calculating the "Stiction" phenomena wi11 be very useful for future plant desist and test predictions.predictions.

  • The Avantor® ACE® UltraCore series encompasses High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) and Ultra High Performance Liquid Chromatography (UHPLC) columns designed to deliver high throughput and high-efficiency ultra-fast separations. Utilizing ultra-inert solid-core silica particles with monodisperse particle distribution, these columns combine the high efficiency of UHPLC with the operability of HPLC instrumentation, yielding lower backpressure and high-resolution separations suitable for a broad spectrum of analytes. The Avantor® ACE® UltraCore range includes three primary product types: • UltraCore BIO: Designed for large biomolecules (≥5 kDa), these columns offer exceptional performance in separating biologically derived compounds. • UltraCore: Ideal for standard small organic molecules, providing rapid separations for both synthetic and natural mixtures. • UltraCore Super: Equipped with encapsulated bonding technology for small organic molecules in extreme pH conditions, optimal for high pH buffer requirements. The Avantor® ACE® UltraCore columns present a versatile and high-efficiency solution for chromatographic separation needs, accommodating a wide range of molecular sizes and providing enhanced resolution and reduced analysis time. Their adaptability to both HPLC and UHPLC systems, combined with the advantages of solid-core technology, makes them an invaluable tool in analytical and preparative chromatography.

  • Modem drug discovery requires rapid pharmacokinetic evaluation of chemically diverse compounds for early candidate selection. This demands the development of analytical methods that offer high-throughput of samples. Naturally, liquid chromatography / tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) is choice of the analytical method because of its superior sensitivity and selectivity. As a result of the short analysis time(typically 3-5min) by LC-MS/MS, sample preparation has become the rate- determining step in the whole analytical cycle. Consequently tremendous efforts are being made to speed up and automate this step. In a typical automated 96-well SPE(solid-phase extraction) procedure, plasma samples are transferred to the 96-well SPE plate, internal standard and aqueous buffer solutions are added and then vacuum is applied using the robotic liquid handling system. It takes only 20-90 min to process 96 samples by automated SPE and the analyst is physically occupied for only approximately 10 min. Recently, the ultra-high flow rate liquid chromatography (turbulent-flow chromatography)has sparked a huge interest for rapid and direct quantitation of drugs in plasma. There is no sample preparation except for sample aliquotting, internal standard addition and centrifugation. This type of analysis is achieved by using a small diameter column with a large particle size(30-5O ${\mu}$m) and a high flow rate, typically between 3-5 ml/min. Silica-based monolithic HPLC columns contain a novel chromatographic support in which the traditional particulate packing has been replaced with a single, continuous network (monolith) of pcrous silica. The main advantage of such a network is decreased backpressure due to macropores (2 ${\mu}$m) throughout the network. This allows high flow rates, and hence fast analyses that are unattainable with traditional particulate columns. The reduction of particle diameter in HPLC results in increased column efficiency. use of small particles (<2 urn), however, requires p.essu.es beyond the traditional 6,000 psi of conventional pumping devices. Instrumental development in recent years has resulted in pumping devices capable of handling the requirements of columns packed with small particles. The staggered parallel HPLC system consists of four fully independent binary HPLC pumps, a modified auto sampler, and a series of switching and selector valves all controlled by a single computer program. The system improves sample throughput without sacrificing chromatographic separation or data quality. Sample throughput can be increased nearly four-fold without requiring significant changes in current analytical procedures. The process of Bioanalytical Method Validation is required by the FDA to assess and verify the performance of a chronlatographic method prior to its application in sample analysis. The validation should address the selectivity, linearity, accuracy, precision and stability of the method. This presentation will provide all overview of the work required to accomplish a full validation and show how a chromatographic method is suitable for toxirokinetic sample analysis. A liquid chromatography/tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) method developed to quantitate drug levels in dog plasma will be used as an example of tile process.
