The resonant formation rates of muonic molecular ion dtr in the muon-catalyzed fusion are calculated in various fuel temperatures and densities. The elastic scattering cross sections between t$\mu$ and deuterons are obtained by making use of the partial wave method. The transition property of the excited compound molecule [(dt$\mu$)dee]* derived by the impulse approximation in the form of a bound-state form factor. The radiative, Auger, and collisional deexcitations are considered as the deexcitation mechanisms of the excited dt$\mu$, and each deexcitation width is calculated as well as back decay width. The resultant reaction widths are used to calculate the formation cross sections of resonant dt$\mu$. The resonant formation rates for dt$\mu$-d and dt$\mu$-t collisions are computed as functions of fuel temperature and density. The calculations show that the resonant formation rates increase with fuel densities and have the maximum values at the particular temperatures where the relative collision energies are equal to the resonant ones.
We present a multi-step cold drawing for a non-equiatomic Co10Cr15Fe25Mn10Ni30V10 high entropy alloy (HEA) with a simple face-centered cubic (FCC) crystal structure. The distribution of strain in the cold-drawn Co10Cr15Fe25Mn10Ni30V10 HEA wires was analyzed by the finite element method (FEM). The effective strain was expected to be higher as it was closer to the surface of the wire. However, the reverse shear strain acted to cause a transition in the shear strain behavior. The critical effective strain at which the shear strain transition behavior is completely shifted was predicted to be 4.75. Severely cold-drawn Co10Cr15Fe25Mn10Ni30V10 HEA wires up to 96% of the maximum cross-sectional reduction ratio were successfully manufactured without breakage. With the assistance of electron back-scattering diffraction and transmission electron microscope analyses, the abundant deformation twins were found in the region of high effective strain, which is a major strengthening mechanism for the cold-drawn Co10Cr15Fe25Mn10Ni30V10 HEA wire.

Laser-induced scatterer patterns in a light guide panel(LGP) have provided partially concentrated light distribution, especially near the light entrance of the LGP. Additional treatments for enhancing performance of the LGP, such as gradually increased processing depth, were also developed, but minor improvement was observed in the fabricated LGP. To solve this problem, we designed a revised scatterer pattern to be inscribed into the LGP using different laser processing depths and different separation distances between patterns. Performance feasibility of the proposed pattern was analyzed with simulation before laser inscription in the LGP. The LGP inscribed with the proposed scatterer patterns contributes improvements in luminance and uniformity of the LGP.

A hybrid method based on high-frequency asymptotic optics was developed in order to predict the RCS of flying vehicles for RCS reduction studies. In cavity return, the rays are assumed to bounce from the inlet cavity based on the laws of geometrical optics and to exit the cavity via the aperture. In other parts of a flying vehicle, the physical optics method is applied to compute the back-scattered field from the solid surface. The hybrid method was validated by considering simple models of sphere and sphere with cavity. In addition, RCS analysis of a flying vehicle was conducted using the new hybrid electromagnetic scattering method based on physical optics and geometrical optics theories.

This paper has implemented a very small($1.4{\times}2.8[Cm^2]$) 13.56[MHz] RFID reader ensuring machine ID recognition correctly in a noise space of Tag-to-Reader within 3Cm. For operation of the RFID system, at first, this paper has designed the loop antenna of a reader and the fading model of back-scattering on microwave propagation following to 13.56[MHz] RFID Air Interface ISO/IEC specification. Secondly, this paper has proposed the automatically path selected RF switching circuit and the firmware operation relationship by measuring and analyzing the very small RFID RF issues. Finally, as a very small reader main body, this paper has shown the DSP board and software functions made for extraction of $1{\sim}2$ machine ID information and error prevention simultaneously with carrying of 13.56[MHz] RFID signals that the international standard specification ISO/IEC 18000-3 defined.

In this paper, we designed and implemented a visible light identification(VLID) system consisting of a VLID reader and a tag which backscatters incident lights from the reader. A VLID tag sends its ID to the reader by switching an LCD shutter which is located on its surface. The VLID reader consists of six LEDs and a photodiode(PD). The LEDs emit visible light and a PD located in a center position of LEDs receives backscattered light from the VLID tag. A microcontroller and a commercial liquid crystal display(LCD) shutter for 3D-TV glasses are used to implement a VLID tag. Experiments were conducted to confirm VLID system performance. We successfully demonstrated experiments to send NRZ-OOK signal of 100 bps over a distance of 35 cm at daytime. Also, we suggested the theoretical maximum transmission rate and the various methods to enhance the separation distance between a VLID reader and a tag.

We have studied the Ge redistribution after dry oxidation and the oxide growth rate of $Si_{1-x}Ge_x$ epitaxial layer. Oxidation were performed at 700, 800, 900, and $1,000\;^{\circ}C$. After the oxidation, the results of RBS (Rutherford Back Scattering) & AES(Auger Electron Spectroscopy) showed that Ge was completely rejected out of the oxide and pile up at $Si_{1-x}Ge_x$ interface. It is shown that the presence of Ge at the $Si_{1-x}Ge_x$ interface changes the dry oxidation rate. The dry oxidation rate was equal to that of pure Si regardless of Ge mole fraction at 700 and 800$^{\circ}C$, while it was decreased at both 900 and $1,000^{\circ}C$ as the Ge mole fraction was increased. The dry of idation rates were reduced for heavy Ge concentration, and large oxiidation time. In the parabolic growth region of $Si_{1-x}Ge_x$ oxidation, the parabolic rate constant are decreased due to the presence of Ge-rich layer. After the longer oxidation at the $1,000^{\circ}C$, AES showed that Ge peak distribution at the $Si_{1-x}Ge_x$ interface reduced by interdiffusion of silicon and germanium.

Acoustic surveys using a scientific echosounder and trawl surveys were concurrently carried out in between Geoje and Tongyeong of the South Sea by season. The anchovy schools were identified by trawling in each station and used for frequency response analysis. Frequency responses of anchovy schools by season and species composition ratio were examined using multi-frequencies (18, 38, 70, 120 and 200 kHz). The frequency response r(f), is one of the acoustic characteristics which means the volume back-scattering strength ratio between a reference frequency and other frequencies. In spring, the r(f) of anchovy schools decreased with increased frequency, with the exception of 120kHz. While, in winter, the r(f) continuously decreased inversely proportional to the increase in frequency. Frequency response of anchovy schools presented a distinctive difference between spring and winter, however it did not different in spife of different species composition ratios in schools.
Active sonar has been commonly used to detect targets existing in the shallow water. When a signal is transmitted and returned back from a target, it has been distorted by various properties of acoustic channel such as multipath arrivals, scattering from rough sea surface and ocean bottom, and refraction by sound speed structure, which makes target detection difficult. It is therefore necessary to consider these channel properties in the target signal simulation in operational performance system of active sonar. In this paper, a monostatic active sonar system is considered, and the target echo, reverberation, and ambient noise are individually simulated as a function of time, and finally summed to simulate a total received signal. A 3-dimensional highlight model, which can reflect the target features including the shape, position, and azimuthal and elevation angles, has been applied to each multipath pair between source and target to simulate the target echo signal. The results are finally compared to those obtained by the algorithm in which only direct path is considered in target signal simulation.
