In clinical microsurgery, limitation of space often prohibits rotation of a double clamp in an end-to-end anastomosis, or shortage of length of the secondary vessel in an end-to-side anastomosis does not allow visualization of the back wall. In these situation, back wall repair is extremely difficult. To overcome this problem, we use continuous suture technique without rotation of double clamp for end-to-end and end-to-side anastomosis of the 40 rat femoral arteries. After continuous sutures for microarterial anastomosis, the following results were obtained: Continuous sutures are useful in anastomosis where there is unavoidable limited access to the posterior wall and for some of the larger vessels now being anastomosed in free flap and other reconstructive surgery.
In this study, behavior of a rigid continuous wall, earth pressure distribution with construction stage, and axial force of earth anchors were evaluated based on field monitoring data and numerical analysis results. For this purpose, a construction site excavated using the diaphragm wall was selected and full instrumentation system was introduced. From monitoring results, it was found that the values of horizontal displacement of the wall measured from the inclinometers, which were installed within the diaphragm wall were similar to analytical value. The earth pressure increased with excavation progress due to jacking force of the ground anchors installed in previous excavation stages. When the excavation depth reached 60% of the final depth, observed earth pressure distribution was similar to that estimated from Peck's apparent earth pressure distribution. When the excavation depth was around 90% of the final depth, values of observed earth pressure showed middle values between those of Peck's and Tschebotarioffs apparent earth pressures. It was also observed that, when excavation depth is deep, values of the earth pressures from the rigid wall were similar to those estimated from conventional earth pressure distribution shape proposed for flexible walls.
Recently, difficulties in soft ground improvement that caused by effectiveness of the ground improvement, the durability and environmentally friendliness of the injection material come to the fore. This paper studies the field applicability of the SCM in reinforcement and seepage cutoff of the back of an existing continuous wall. SCM uses double rod which imposes heavy pressure($10-100kgf/cm^2$) to disturbed, cut, discharge, and mix the ground. It is observed that a bulb is formed by using cement paste and environmentally friendly injection materials with minimal alkali leaching. Unconfined compression test and fish poison tests are performed. Test results indicate that the method results in higher durability, less leaching through use of the environmentally friendly injection material, and faster mobilization of the strength. In addition, field tests confirm the formation of the bulb and the seepage cutoff wall.

This paper studies the field applicability of the Special Chemical grouting Method(SCM) in reinforcing and reducing permeability of the back of an existing continuous wall. SCM uses double rod which imposes intermediate pressure$(981\sim9,810kPa)$ to disturb, cut, discharge, and mix the ground. It is observed that a bulb is formed by using cement paste and environmentally friendly injection materials with minimal alkali leaching. Uniaxial compression tests, test for chemical properties and fish poison test are performed. Test results indicate that the method results in higher durability, less leaching through use of the environmentally friendly injection material, and faster mobilization of the strength. In addition, field tests confirm the formation of the bulb and the seepage cutoff wall.

A term of GNSS(Global Navigation Satellite System) is widely used to represent a navigation method for global area using satellite in space orbit 1his system can provide accurate and continuous position, and timing sources synchronized to UTC. There are, however, certain disadvantage that system can not operate without line of sight environment to satellite, or system failure of either satellite or control station. It is the pseduolite technology for using indoor and also for back-up equipment of foreign system failure. Especially, ocean applications widely use the GNSS system for navigation, surveying, timing, and management of traffic, so, system failure of GNSS will be very critical problem to affect many aspects of ocean field. In this paper, we experimented the pseudolite technology for several application field to compare the result in different environment. We used the common CDGPS algorithm for in-door navigation and experimented in ocean engineering basin with metallic wall and gymnasiums with concrete wall. We also investigated the comparison result and considerations for ocean applications of pseudolite technology.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the sealing ability of various canal filling methods. Palatal roots of ninety extracted human maxillary molar teeth were resected at cementoenamel junction. Eighty of them were randomly assigned to four experimental groups, ten were served as positive and negative controls. All canals were prepared to # 40 using Profile. Experimental groups were obturated by lateral condensation technique, Thermafil technique, Continuous Wave of Condensation Technique, and down-pack & back-fill technique of Obtura-II, each with root canal sealer. Control groups were not obturated. Teeth were immersed in resorcinol-formaldehyde resin for 5 days at $4^{\circ}C$, and the resin was allowed to polymerize completely for 4 days at room temperature. Teeth were then ground horizontally at 1.5mm(level 1), 2.5mm(level 2), 3.5 mm(level 3) from the anatomical apex and examined with a stereomicroscope at ${\times}40$ magnification. The gap between the canal wall and the filling material, which was filled with the resin, was measured at each of the three levels. Each ratio of leakage was obtained by calculating the ratio of the area of the resin to the total area of the canal and was analyzed statistically (Rank-sum test). The results were as follows : 1. At the level 1, there was the greatest leakage in the Thermafil group and Obtura-II group, and the difference between the Obtura-II group and Continuous Wave of Condensation Technique group was statistically significant(p<0.05). 2. At the level 2, there was the least leakage in the Continuous Wave of Condensation Technique group, but there was no statistically significant difference between each group (p>0.05). 3. At the level 3, there was no statistically significant difference between each group(p>0.05).
In the past, there was a theory that influenza wasn't transmitted directly from birds but was infected to humans via swains. Recently, molecular level research has progressed, and it was confirmed that the avian influenza virus can directly infected to human lung and intestinal epithelial cells. Three pandemicsin the past 100 years were also infected to humans directly from birds. In view of such scientific background, we are developing a method for screening sick birds by monitoring the physiological characteristics of birds in a contactless manner with sensors. Here, the movement of respiratory muscles and abdominal muscles under autonomic innervation was monitored using a magnet and Hall sensor sewn on the thoracic wall, and other multimedia devices. This paper presents and discusses the results of experiments involving continuous periodic noise discovered during flight experiments with a data logger mounted on a Japanese pheasant from 2012 to 2015. A brief summary is given as the below: 1. Magnet and Hall sensor sewn to the left and right chest walls, bipolar electrocardiograms between the thoracic walls, posterior thoracic air sac pressure, angular velocity sensors sewn on the back and hips, and optical reflection of LEDs (blue and green) from the skin of the hips allow observation of periodic vibrations(fasciculations) in the waves. No such analysis has been reported before. 2. These fasciculations are presumed to be derived from muscle to maintain and control air sac pressure. 3. Since each muscle fiber is spatially Gaussian distributed from the sympathetic nerve, the envelope is assumed to plot a Gaussian curve. 4. Since avian trunk muscles contract periodically at all time, we assume that the sympathetic nerve dominates in their control. 5. The technique of sewing a magnet to the thoracic wall and measuring the strength of the magnetic field with a Hall sensor can be applied to screen for early stage of avian influenza, with a sensor attached to the chicken enclosure.
The author tried to analyse a Korean fairy tale "the traveller and the fox". The essence of the story is as follows; A traveller who was wandering in mountains found a house with a light. There was a beautiful woman who was very kind to give food and shelter. But she was a fox that tried to kill him with a knife. He asked her to bring a basket of water and he broke the wall with it to run away. The fox chased and he fell down a cliff to ride on the back of a tiger. The tiger ran into a cave and give him to her babies as a prey. He killed them by throwing stones and climbed a tree out of the cave. There came foxes and the tiger and they killed each other. He came back to the village with the fur of the foxes and the tiger. The author tried to understand the contents of the story symbolically and interpret them from the perspective of analytical psychology. On conclusion, the traveller was on the individuation process and experienced the negative anima (the fox) and the negative mother archetype (the tiger) and its negative subsidiaries (the tiger's babies). He tried to be consciously alert and paid continuous attention so that he could get out of the status and get new insight. During this process, it was meaningful that he could actively get an appropriate aid of positive mother archetype and Self symbolized by the water and the tree respectively.
Recently the development of rotary instrument makes it possible that in root canal treatment operator saves much more time, maintans original curved canal shape and easily prepares continuous tapered root canal. The purpose of this experiment was to examine the smoothness of the internal surface of prepared root canal and the effectiveness of debridement in prepared root canal by SEM for the comparison of hand and Ni-Ti rotary instrument. 25 extracted human teeth were access opened and # 10 K-type file was introduced into canal until it was appeared at the apical foramen. The working length was established by subtracting 0.5mm from this measurement. Group 1. The root canal preparation was done to # 30 with working length and then step-back until # 45 with K-Flexofile (Maillefer, Swiss). Group 2. Root canal preparation was done by Naviflex Ni-Ti file (Brasseler, USA) as the same technique with group 1. Group 3. Canal was prepared by Profile .04 (Maillefer, Swiss) taper until #30. Group 4. With use of Quantec (Tycom, USA) root canal was prepared from file number 1 to 8. In group 1 and 2, the root canal irrigant was NaOCl and the other groups, NaOCl and RC-prep (Premine Dental Products, USA) was used. The prepared teeth were notched with high-speed bur as bucco-lingual direction and fractured with chisel and mallet, then examined with SEM. Group 1 showed smooth internal surface. There were scratches mainly to the axial direction. Group 2 showed similar characteristics to those in group 1. Group 3 showed more smoother and linear cutting surface with bised scratches. Group 4 has the almost same characteristics group 3 and there was no difference in the file design. Ni-Ti rotary root canal instrument prepare the dentinal wall more smoother than hand instrument. The effectiveness of debridement was not fully affected by file design. The isthmus area and accessory canals of the root canal system were not prepared in any group. According to the result, hand and rotary type instrumentation techniques were effective in removal of major amount of tissue from root canal but it was not complete. In the direction of cutting movement there was difference between them.
